  • A contour shape matching based pixel motion estimation is proposed. The pixel motion information is very useful to compensate the motion artifact generated at the specific gray level contours in the moving image for subfield gray-scale display devices. In this motion estimation method, the gray level boundary contours are extracted from the input image. Then using contour shape matching, the most similar contour in next frame is found, and the contour is divided into segment unit. The pixel motion vector is estimated from the displacement of the each segment in the contour by segment matching. From this method, more precise motion vector can be estimated and this method is more robust to image motion with rotation or from illumination variations.

ON THE THEORY OF LORENTZ SURFACES WITH PARALLEL NORMALIZED MEAN CURVATURE VECTOR FIELD IN PSEUDO-EUCLIDEAN 4-SPACE

  • We develop an invariant local theory of Lorentz surfaces in pseudo-Euclidean 4-space by use of a linear map of Weingarten type. We find a geometrically determined moving frame field at each point of the surface and obtain a system of geometric functions. We prove a fundamental existence and uniqueness theorem in terms of these functions. On any Lorentz surface with parallel normalized mean curvature vector field we introduce special geometric (canonical) parameters and prove that any such surface is determined up to a rigid motion by three invariant functions satisfying three natural partial differential equations. In this way we minimize the number of functions and the number of partial differential equations determining the surface, which solves the Lund-Regge problem for this class of surfaces.

운동매질내에서의 Circula Loop Antenna의 방사특성(II) (Radiation Characteristics of a Circular Loop Antenna in Moving Media.)

  • 본논문에서는 운동매질내에서 크기가 파장과 동등정도이거나 그 이상인 circular loop antenna의 방사특성을 전류분포가 정현파적인 경우에 대하여 고찰하였다. 고찰결과로는 방사특성이 매질속도의 영향을 받는다는 사실과 그 영향으로는 정지매질의 radiation pattern 과 비교하여 방사지향성이 loop antenna면에 평행인 매질속도성분에만 영향을 받고 수직성분속도에는 무관하며 radiation pattern의 최대지향성은 loop면에 평행인 속도성분방향으로 이동하고 이와 반대방향으로는 Pattern의 크기가 증가하게 된다. 또 이와 같은 운동매질의 영향은 매질속도도가 오고 전류주파수가 높을수록 antenna의 직경이 클수록 더욱 현저하게 된다는 사실을 알게 되었다.

Nonlinear damage detection using linear ARMA models with classification algorithms

  • Majority of the damage in engineering structures is nonlinear. Damage sensitive features (DSFs) extracted by traditional methods from linear time series models cannot effectively handle nonlinearity induced by structural damage. A new DSF is proposed based on vector space cosine similarity (VSCS), which combines K-means cluster analysis and Bayesian discrimination to detect nonlinear structural damage. A reference autoregressive moving average (ARMA) model is built based on measured acceleration data. This study first considers an existing DSF, residual standard deviation (RSD). The DSF is further advanced using the VSCS, and then the advanced VSCS is classified using K-means cluster analysis and Bayes discriminant analysis, respectively. The performance of the proposed approach is then verified using experimental data from a three-story shear building structure, and compared with the results of existing RSD. It is demonstrated that combining the linear ARMA model and the advanced VSCS, with cluster analysis and Bayes discriminant analysis, respectively, is an effective approach for detection of nonlinear damage. This approach improves the reliability and accuracy of the nonlinear damage detection using the linear model and significantly reduces the computational cost. The results indicate that the proposed approach is potential to be a promising damage detection technique.

시계열모형을 이용한 굴 생산량 예측 가능성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Forecast of Oyster Production using Time Series Models)

  • This paper focused on forecasting a short-term production of oysters, which have been farmed in Korea, with distinct periodicity of production by year, and different production level by month. To forecast a short-term oyster production, this paper uses monthly data (260 observations) from January 1990 to August 2011, and also adopts several econometrics methods, such as Multiple Regression Analysis Model (MRAM), Seasonal Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (SARIMA) Model, and Vector Error Correction Model (VECM). As a result, first, the amount of short-term oyster production forecasted by the multiple regression analysis model was 1,337 ton with prediction error of 246 ton. Secondly, the amount of oyster production of the SARIMA I and II models was forecasted as 12,423 ton and 12,442 ton with prediction error of 11,404 ton and 11,423 ton, respectively. Thirdly, the amount of oyster production based on the VECM was estimated as 10,425 ton with prediction errors of 9,406 ton. In conclusion, based on Theil inequality coefficient criterion, short-term prediction of oyster by the VECM exhibited a better fit than ones by the SARIMA I and II models and Multiple Regression Analysis Model.

광 흐름과 학습에 의한 영상 내 사람의 검지 (Human Detection in Images Using Optical Flow and Learning)

  • Human detection is an important aspect in many video-based sensing and monitoring systems. Studies have been actively conducted for the automatic detection of humans in camera images, and various methods have been proposed. However, there are still problems in terms of performance and computational cost. In this paper, we describe a method for efficient human detection in the field of view of a camera, which may be static or moving, through multiple processing steps. A detection line is designated at the position where a human appears first in a sensing area, and only the one-dimensional gray pixel values of the line are monitored. If any noticeable change occurs in the detection line, corner detection and optical flow computation are performed in the vicinity of the detection line to confirm the change. When significant changes are observed in the corner numbers and optical flow vectors, the final determination of human presence in the monitoring area is performed using the Histograms of Oriented Gradients method and a Support Vector Machine. The proposed method requires processing only specific small areas of two consecutive gray images. Furthermore, this method enables operation not only in a static condition with a fixed camera, but also in a dynamic condition such as an operation using a camera attached to a moving vehicle.

  • 본 논문에서는 다수의 무인항공기가 저속으로 이동하는 지상 목표물을 추적하기 위한 협력제어 기법을 제안한다. 유도명령을 생성하기 위하여 르야프노프 안정성 이론을 이용한 벡터필드를 설계한다. 목표물과 일정한 거리를 유지하며 선회하기 위한 롤각 명령을 생성한다. 이와 동시에 목표물에 대한 항공기의 위상각을 조절하기 위한 속도 명령과 기수각 명령을 생성하고, 항공기 간 충돌방지를 고려한 기법을 제시한다. 다수의 무인항공기를 이용한 수치 시뮬레이션을 수행하여 제안된 제어기법의 성능을 검증하였다.

무인수상선의 단일 카메라를 이용한 VFH+ 기반 장애물 회피 기법 (VFH+ based Obstacle Avoidance using Monocular Vision of Unmanned Surface Vehicle)

  • Recently, many unmanned surface vehicles (USVs) have been developed and researched for various fields such as the military, environment, and robotics. In order to perform purpose specific tasks, common autonomous navigation technologies are needed. Obstacle avoidance is important for safe autonomous navigation. This paper describes a vector field histogram+ (VFH+) based obstacle avoidance method that uses the monocular vision of an unmanned surface vehicle. After creating a polar histogram using VFH+, an open space without the histogram is selected in the moving direction. Instead of distance sensor data, monocular vision data are used for make the polar histogram, which includes obstacle information. An object on the water is recognized as an obstacle because this method is for USV. The results of a simulation with sea images showed that we can verify a change in the moving direction according to the position of objects.

  • 한국 소비자원의 의료 분야 처리금액 자료에 대한 시계열 모형을 이용한 실증 분석을 연구하였다. 의료분야 처리금액 시계열 자료는 상담 처리금액, 피해 구제금액, 분쟁 조정 처리금액으로 나뉜 3개 변수를 사용하였고 분석에 사용된 시계열 모형은 ARIMA 모형, 벡터 자기회귀 모형 그리고 전이 함수를 이용한 시계열 모형이다. 이들 중 전이 함수를 이용한 시계열 모형이 단기 예측면에서 가장 우수한 예측력을 보였고 벡터자기회귀 모형도 변수간 영향력과 기간을 파악하는데 유용한 정보를 제공하였다.

  • 네트워크 환경에 적응적인 비디오 스트리밍 서비스를 위하여 비디오의 트랜스코딩이 하나의 해결책으로 제시되었다. 시간당 프레임의 개수를 조절하는 기법은 이러한 비디오 트랜스코딩 기법들 중 하나이다. 이 기법에서는 삭제된 프레임을 참조하는 프레임의 움직임 벡터를 재생성 해야 되는데 이것은 비디오 트랜스코딩의 계산 복잡도를 높이는 주요 원인이다. 본 논문에서는 움직임 벡터의 재생성 시 요구되는 계산 복잡도를 줄이기 위해 삭제된 프레임의 움직임 벡터를 재사용하는 영역과 활동 상태 정보를 고려한 벡터 합성 기법을 제안한다. 이 기법은 각 매크로블록들의 활동 상태정보량과 중첩영역의 크기를 기반으로 축출한 가중치를 이용하여 각 움직임 벡터들을 합성하는 기법이다. 실험 결과 RABVC는 기존의 가중치 기반의 움직임 벡터 선택 기법들에 비해 비슷한 계산 복잡도에서 높은 PSNR값을 보였다.
