  • Distributed computing helps to efficiently store and process large data on a cluster of multiple machines. The performance of distributed computing is greatly influenced depending on the state of the servers constituting the distributed system. In this paper, we propose a self-diagnosis system that collects log data in a distributed system, detects anomalies and visualizes the results in real time. First, we divide the self-diagnosis process into five stages: collecting, delivering, analyzing, storing, and visualizing stages. Next, we design a real-time self-diagnosis system that meets the goals of real-time, scalability, and high availability. The proposed system is based on Apache Flume, Apache Kafka, and Apache Storm, which are representative real-time distributed techniques. In addition, we use simple but effective moving average and 3-sigma based anomaly detection technique to minimize the delay of log data processing during the self-diagnosis process. Through the results of this paper, we can construct a distributed real-time self-diagnosis solution that can diagnose server status in real time in a complicated distributed system.

  • An avoidance/guidance problem of an aircraft against moving obstacle is considered in two dimensional space. The aircraft is modelled as a point mass flying with constant speed. The lateral acceleration is assumed the control input. Artificial potential functions are applied to the terminal point and moving obstacles in order that repulsive forces and an attractive force are produced by the obstacles and the terminal point respectively. A real time guidance/avoidance law is proposed by using the potential forces and relative velocity. The guidance law for a logarithm potential function results the well-known proportional navigation law. The avoidance control command is inverse proportional to the time-to-go to the obstacle and turns the aircraft toward the negative direction of the line-of-sight change. The performance of the proposed guidance/avoidance law is verified with simulations.

  • The numerical program has been developed for the purpose of the complicate geometries application using CIP method. The non-staggered, non-orthogonal, and unstructured grid system can be also used for the various geometries in the program. For validating CIP solver, the lid-driven cavity flow and solitary wave propagation flow are carried out. Test results show a good agreement with the verified results. The dynamic solver was used for the behavior of moving body. Interface process between the two solvers is introduced. The research was performed on the flow problem around torpedo and log and the flow problem in a tank in order to analyze the three phase flow problem Although the comparison to the verified results was not quantitatively performed, the trend of the results was reasonable.

  • In general, in order to operate an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) in an underwater environment, a navigation system such as a Doppler Log (DVL) using a Doppler phenomenon of ultrasonic waves is used for speed and direction estimation. However, most of the ultrasonic sensors in underwater is large for long-distance sensing and the cost is very high. In this study, not only canal neuromast on the fish's lateral lines but also superficial neuromast are studied on the simulation to obtain pressure values for each pressure sensor, and the obtained pressure data is supervised using spherical CNN. To this end, through supervised learning using pressure data obtained from a pressure sensor attached to an underwater vehicle, we can estimate the speed and angle of the underwater vehicle in a quasi-static underwater environment and propose a method for a non-ultrasonic based navigation system.

  • The study examines preference between rural bus and call-a-bus before call-a-bus operation and empirically analyzes the effecting factors on the call-a-bus satisfaction after operation. As the result of log-linear model, older persons prefer call-a-bus because of door-to-door service convenience and female also because of limitation of trip moving means. It is shown that persons with lower number of trips prefer call-a-bus. As the result of ordinal regression model for call-a-bus satisfaction, age, the number of family members and bus stop distance have the positive tendency but the going out frequency and the return time negative among rural bus preference persons. Male and the going out frequence show the negative tendency but trip moving means, bus stop distance, rural bus satisfaction, depart and return time positive among call-a-bus preference persons. The persons who have the positive preference on call-a-bus shows higher satisfaction on call-a-bus.

  • In this paper, the image segmentation method based on the hierarchical pyramid image structure of reduced resolution versions of the image for solving the problems in the conventional methods is presented. This method is described the object detection and delineation by statistical approach. In the object detection method, IFSVR( Inverse-father-son variance ratio) method and FSVR(father-son variance ratio ) method are proposed for solving clustering validity problem occurred In the hierarchical pyramid image structure. An optimal object pixel Is detected at some level by this method. In the object delineation method, the iterative algorithm by top-down traversing method is proposed for moving the optimal object pixel to levels of higher resolution. Using the computer simulation, the results by the proposed statistical methods and object traversing method are investigated for the binary Image and the real image. At the results of computer simulation, the proposed methods of image segmentation based on the hierarchical pyramid Image structure seem to have useful properties and deserve consideration as a possible alternative to existing methods of image segmentation. The computation for the proposed method is required 0(log n) for n${\times}$n input image.

  • This study investigated the flow characteristics in an annular flume with a free water surface using the Acoustic Doppler Velocimeter(ADV) in the laboratory. The flow was driven by the rotation of the inner cylinder in a way designed not to interfere with flocculation of cohesive sediments. The effect of the inner cylinder for the longitudinal velocities showed highest near the moving boundary and decreased towards the outer wall. At the lower longitudinal velocity, there was a peak in turbulent kinetic energy near the bed, whereas it moved upward to with increasing of the velocity. The longitudinal velocities estimated using the power law were in good agreement with the measured values than the values predicted by the log-law with roughness lengths. The average friction velocities evaluated by Reynolds shear stress were smaller than the values calculated using the log-law and power law when increasing the longitudinal velocity.

  • The detector subsystem of the Optical Wide-field Patrol (OWL) network efficiently acquires the position and time information of moving objects such as artificial satellites through its chopper system, which consists of 4 blades in front of the CCD camera. Using this system, it is possible to get more position data with the same exposure time by changing the streaks of the moving objects into many pieces with the fast rotating blades during sidereal tracking. At the same time, the time data from the rotating chopper can be acquired by the time tagger connected to the photo diode. To analyze the orbits of the targets detected in the image data of such a system, a sequential procedure of determining the positions of separated streak lines was developed that involved calculating the World Coordinate System (WCS) solution to transform the positions into equatorial coordinate systems, and finally combining the time log records from the time tagger with the transformed position data. We introduce this procedure and the preliminary results of the application of this procedure to the test observation images.

  • As a GPS stability problem arises, MLAT system is spotlighted as an alternative technology of ADS-B. MLAT system has a high position accuracy as much as ADS-B. Also, MLAT receives the mode A,C,S, and 1090ES(ADS-B) signals from the mounted aircraft transponder. MLAT receives signals from several receiver units and calculates aircraft positions. MLAT has ADS-B level positioning accurarcy using GPS and can calculate the position information with objects independently. According to global environment changes, Local area multiltilateration(LAM) surveillance system is under development for moving vehicles and aircraft detection in airport. These are still under testing in Tae-an Airfield. In the paper, we analyzed the performance by comparing the calculated position data from MLAT to RTK. In order to confirm the position accuracy of MLAT and the deviation of position data between fixed target and moving target on the ground during the field test in Tae-an Airfield.
