  • Collaborative-filtering-enabled Web sites that recommend books, CDs, movies, and so on, have become very popular on the Internet. Such sites recommend items to a user on the basis of the opinions of other users with similar tastes. This paper discuss an approach to collaborative filtering based on the Simple Bayesian and apply this model to two variants of the collaborative filtering. One is user-based collaborative filtering, which makes predictions based on the users' similarities. The other is item-based collaborative filtering which makes predictions based on the items' similarities. To evaluate the proposed algorithms, this paper used a database of movie recommendations. Empirical results show that the proposed Bayesian approaches outperform typical correlation-based collaborative filtering algorithms.

  • With the extreme development of Internet, recently most users refer the sites with the various Recommendation Systems (RSs) when they want to buy some stuff, movie and music. However, the possibilities of the Sybils with the malicious behaviors may exists in these RSs sites in which Sybils intentionally increase or decrease the rating values. The RSs cannot play an accurate role of the proper recommendations to the general normal users. In this paper, we divide the given rating values into the stable or unstable states and propose a system information based recommendation algorithm that minimizes the malicious user's influence. To evaluate the performance of the proposed scheme, we directly crawl the real trace data from the famous movie site and analyze the performance. After that, we showed proposed scheme performs well compared to existing algorithms.

  • Recently, many researches on recommendation systems and collaborative filtering have been proceeding in both research and practice. However, although product items may have multi-valued attributes, previous studies did not reflect the multi-valued attributes. To overcome this limitation, this paper proposes new methodology for recommendation system. The proposed methodology uses multi-valued attributes based on clustering technique for items and applies the collaborative filtering to provide accurate recommendations. In the proposed methodology, both user clustering-based CBR and item attribute clustering-based CBR technique have been applied to the collaborative filtering to consider correlation of item to item as well as correlation of user to user. By using multi-valued attribute-based clustering technique for items, characteristics of items are identified clearly. Extensive experiments have been performed with MovieLens data to validate the proposed methodology. The results of the experiment show that the proposed methodology outperforms the benchmarked methodologies: Case Based Reasoning Collaborative Filtering (CBR_CF) and User Clustering Case Based Reasoning Collaborative Filtering (UC_CBR_CF).

  • Collaborative filtering systems have problems when users rate items and the rated results depend on their feelings, as there is a possibility that the results include noise. The method proposed in this paper optimizes the matrix by excluding irrelevant ratings as information for recommendations from a user-item matrix using dispersion. It reduces the noise that results from predicting preferences based on original user ratings by inflecting the information for items and users on the matrix. The method excludes the ratings values of the utmost limits using a percentile to supply the defects of coefficient of variance and composes a weighted user-item matrix by combining the user coefficient of variance with the median of ratings for items. Finally, the preferences of the active user are predicted based on the weighted matrix. A large database of user ratings for movies from the MovieLens recommender system is used, and the performance is evaluated. The proposed method is shown to outperform earlier methods significantly.

  • Recommender systems aim to recommend items to users by taking into account their probable interests. This study focuses on creating a model that utilizes multiple sources of information about users and items by employing a multimodality approach. The study addresses the task of how to gather information from different sources (modalities) and transform them into a uniform format, resulting in a multi-modal feature description for users and items. This work also aims to transform and represent the features extracted from different modalities so that the information is in a compatible format for integration and contains important, useful information for the prediction model. To achieve this goal, we propose a novel multi-modal recommendation model, which involves extracting latent features of users and items from a utility matrix using matrix factorization techniques. Various transformation techniques are utilized to extract features from other sources of information such as user reviews, item descriptions, and item categories. We also proposed the use of Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Feature Selection techniques to reduce the data dimension and extract important features as well as remove noisy features to increase the accuracy of the model. We conducted several different experimental models based on different subsets of modalities on the MovieLens and Amazon sub-category datasets. According to the experimental results, the proposed model significantly enhances the accuracy of recommendations when compared to SVD, which is acknowledged as one of the most effective models for recommender systems. Specifically, the proposed model reduces the RMSE by a range of 4.8% to 21.43% and increases the Precision by a range of 2.07% to 26.49% for the Amazon datasets. Similarly, for the MovieLens dataset, the proposed model reduces the RMSE by 45.61% and increases the Precision by 14.06%. Additionally, the experimental results on both datasets demonstrate that combining information from multiple modalities in the proposed model leads to superior outcomes compared to relying on a single type of information.

  • Recently as various contents are mass produced based on high accessibility, the media contents market is more active. Users want to find content that suits their taste, and each platform is competing for personalized recommendations for content. For an efficient recommendation system, high-quality metadata is required. Existing platforms take a method in which the user directly inputs the metadata of an image. This will waste time and money processing large amounts of data. In this paper, for media hyperpersonalization recommendation, keyframes are extracted based on the YCrCb color model of the video based on movie trailers, movie genres are distinguished through supervised learning of artificial intelligence and In the future, we would like to propose a utilization plan for generating metadata.

  • Due to the advances in machine learning and artificial intelligence technologies, many new services have become available. Among such services, recommendation systems have already been successfully applied to commercial services and made profits as in online shopping malls. Most recommendation algorithms in commercial services are based on content analysis or explicit feedback rates as in movie recommendations. However, many online shopping malls have difficulties in content analysis or are lacking explicit feedbacks on their items, which results in no recommendation system for their items. Even for such service systems, user log data is easily available, and if recommendations are possible with such log data, the quality of their service can be improved. In this paper, we extract implicit feedback like click information for items from log data and provide a recommendation system based on the implicit feedback. The proposed system is applied to a real in-service online shopping mall.

  • This paper proposes a hybrid recommendation system (RS) model that overcomes the limitations of traditional approaches such as data sparsity, cold start, and scalability by combining collaborative filtering and context-aware techniques. The objective of this model is to enhance the accuracy of recommendations and provide personalized suggestions by leveraging the strengths of collaborative filtering and incorporating user context features to capture their preferences and behavior more effectively. The approach utilizes a novel method that combines contextual attributes with the original user-item rating matrix of CF-based algorithms. Furthermore, we integrate k-mean++ clustering to group users with similar preferences and finally recommend items that have highly rated by other users in the same cluster. The process of partitioning is the use of the rating matrix into clusters based on contextual information offers several advantages. First, it bypasses of the computations over the entire data, reducing runtime and improving scalability. Second, the partitioned clusters hold similar ratings, which can produce greater impacts on each other, leading to more accurate recommendations and providing flexibility in the clustering process. keywords: Context-aware Recommendation, Collaborative Filtering, Kmean++ Clustering.

  • A recommendation system is an information filter tool, which uses the ratings and reviews of users to generate a personalized recommendation service for users. However, the cold-start problem of users and items is still a major research hotspot on service recommendations. To address this challenge, this paper proposes a high-efficient hybrid recommendation system based on Fuzzy C-Means (FCM) clustering and supervised learning models. The proposed recommendation method includes two aspects: on the one hand, FCM clustering technique has been applied to the item-based collaborative filtering framework to solve the cold start problem; on the other hand, the content information is integrated into the collaborative filtering. The algorithm constructs the user and item membership degree feature vector, and adopts the data representation form of the scoring matrix to the supervised learning algorithm, as well as by combining the subjective membership degree feature vector and the objective membership degree feature vector in a linear combination, the prediction accuracy is significantly improved on the public datasets with different sparsity. The efficiency of the proposed system is illustrated by conducting several experiments on MovieLens dataset.
