Depth-based Mesh Modeling for Virtual Environment Generation (가상 환경 생성을 위한 깊이 기반 메쉬 모델링)

  • In this paper, we propose a depth-based mesh modeling method to generate virtual environment. The proposed algorithm constructs mesh model from unorganized point cloud obtained from a multi-view camera. We separate the point cloud consisting objects from the background. Then, we apply triangulation to each object and background. Since the objects and the background are modeled independently, it is possible to construct effective virtual environment. The application of proposed modeling method is applicable to entertainment, such as movie and video game and effective virtual environment generation.

  • Three dimensional database of building use in Central Obihiro City was created and displayed using three dimensional graphics and quicktime movies. Then intra structure of Central Obihiro City was analyzed based on this database using GIS and the results were also displayed using three dimensional graphics and quicklime movies.

  • In this paper, the principle of devices which can magnify images without distorting the images is described. When the device is put on a smart phones, viewers can see the magnified images. Magnified images can be few 100 times bigger than the original images. Therefore, viewers can see movie theater size images with the device put on a smart phone. Two different schemes are explained in the paper and one realization of the device is presented. The device can be used in many different application areas.

  • A basic role of sound is to give realism to the expressions on the screen or to highlight the images using exaggerated effect as a supporting role. In that way, sound effect makes it possible for audiences to naturally understand realistic images. However, the sound effect in movies is not real 'sound' in fact. Rather, sound effect is a separate cinematic tool that needs a separate direction to manipulate sounds in order to create appropriate effects for particular intention in the movie. While watching the movie, the audiences go through unique experience where they comprehend the manipulated world as the real world. Therefore, direction for sound effect must help deliver realism to the images by auditory factors. Thus, effective sound direction shall have precise and independent design for identification, reason and eurythmical match with the screen and occurred sounds shall be designed based on the subjective listening point to see who is actually listening.

  • This paper intends to suggest methods to design and implement a jQuery mobile based system in a future mobile webapp environment through a study on an N-Screen application in a mobile webapp. N-Screen is one of the representative services of cloud computing. It is promoted by the need of users to require universal functions for all devices. However, this situation is in conflict with the users' need to have the same experience and N-Screen cannot deal with these disparate services. Thus, this study intends to suggest a system analysis, structure of design, and a framework by implementing the N-Screen based movie reservation system in the jQuery mobile environment.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop the Clinical Kinesiology Class Contents(: CKCC) by utilizing movies and investigate the effects of its application to clinical kinesiology learning. The developed CKCC were applied to the clinical kinesiology classes for 47 second year student of physical therapy and occupational therapy in K college in G City. CKCC includ movie scenes that can demonstrate the action of muscles effectively, for better student understanding, as has already been shown widely. The interest and understanding of CKCC by the class was analysed. The results show that the developed CKCC is very effective implement for stimulating students' interest(p<0.05) and understanding(p<0.05) of clinical kinesiology classes.

  • This study focuses on the art style research of the 3D Animation <Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse>, exploring the film's innovation in art design. The article first analyzes how the movie skillfully blends American comics, watercolor painting style, Pollock drip painting, and ink painting, among other artistic techniques, to present a unique visual experience for the audience. By specifically dissecting the character design and scene composition in the movie, it explores the specific application of these art styles and their methods in digital image production. Ultimately, the paper emphasizes the contribution of <Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse> to 3D Animated cinema, particularly its innovation in the field of art design, as well as its inspiration and possibilities for the diversity of art styles in animated films. Overall, this study aims to provide in-depth academic insight into the field of animated film art design and to promote its development and innovation.

A Development and Application of Science Learning Material Including SF Movies (SF 영화를 활용한 과학학습자료 개발 및 적용)

  • The purpose of study is to develop the web-contents for web based instruction (WBI) with the Science Fiction Movie (SF) and investigate the effects of application to the science learning. The results are as follows. 1) Science fiction movies for the earth science classes of middle school were selected, that is the Armageddon, the Apollo13 and the Total Recall. They are related to the chapters, the Earth and the Stars in the 8th grade science textbook. 2) The developed WBI materials were applied to the science classes of the 2nd grade in middle school through the Internet Line. and then the changes of attitude on science and recognition on using the science fiction movies to the class were analyzed. The results show that the science fiction movies have so much related to the contents of science learning and the developed WBI materials are effective to the science classes(p<0.05), but no meaningful (p>0.05) to the attitude on the science excluding the students' interest to science learning.

  • The most important factor in students' growth and development is the teacher. Therefore in-service science teacher education to develop the professionality is important as well as the selection of new excellence teachers. Our research is on the development and application of new education program on science experiments where in-service teachers become the lecturers in the program and provide information that is bound to the context of real lessons. This program is consisted of following 10 steps of work, which was implemented in 5 months: sharing the philosophy of the program, selecting science experiments, first application of the experiments, discussion on the first application, learning how to edit the movie clips of the lesson, second application of the experiments, in depth discussion on the second application, developing the experiment package, giving lecture to other science teachers, and evaluating the program. We describe the process of the program developed and implemented in detail to suggest a model of science teacher education program on science experiments and discuss educational implications. This program is characterized by the emphasis of the context closely linked to the real lessons, the problem solving in a real situation, and the collaboration of teachers, professors and science education researcher in a teacher education.

  • In this paper, we develop a PC adapter board and application software that do not use mouse or keyboard but the infrared communication, which can control the operation remotely. The infrared communication adapter is made up of the infrared receiver part and the serial communication interface part. The infrared receiver part creates a suitable scan-code using the received signal from the infrared transmitter (remote-controller). The serial communication interface part transmits the scan-code to PC by a serial communication. We implement its application softwares to listen to music and see movies. We can control their operations such as play, stop, pause and volume control remotely.
