  • Covers of fashion magazines are part of the media that reflects the zeitgeist. Thus an analysis of the covers is a tool to probe the social and cultural changes of a period. This study attempts to shed light on the changes of the image of women on the cover of men's fashion magazines; this study intends to investigate the changes of status and role of women, from the past up to the present, through analyzing the meaning of the image of female models. For this purpose, this study conducts both literature and corroborative research. The period for the analysis is limited to post-1960s when female models began to appear alone on the cover of men's fashion magazine. The three decades from the 1960s through today have been analyzed according to its characteristics. The result is as follows: female models in the 1960s were shown as subjugated and ancillary to men as a commodity for the affluent materialistic civilization after World War II. In the 1970s, thanks to feminism movement, the image of resistance dominated. As a result of women's right movement, the 1980s came to witness the female image of subjective characteristics. Finally, starting in the 1990s, a mixture of subjugated, resistant, and subjective image of female models has appeared. In the contemporary culture, where the communication through images is being increased, the image of the female models in fashion magazines could work as a criterion to measure the social change.

  • This article deals with an optical image stabilizer which moves an image sensor in the direction of cancelling the vibration caused by hand shaking to prevent a photographed image from blurring. The ball-guide way method adopted as a transfer device of the image sensor is easy to be manufactured because of its simple structure and is suitable to minimize the friction between mechanisms, but has weakness of a chance of physical defect such as groove and rising. In case that the movement of the transfer device equipped with the image sensor is blunted because a ball is stuck in defects of guide way, the performance of the image stabilizer falls down drastically. We propose a method to prevent the transfer device from blunting by applying artificial vibration. At this time, the artificial vibration should be designed under consideration of dynamic characteristics and specifications of the system to be discriminated from the vibration caused by hand shaking.

  • In the past, the image processing system is independently implemented and has a limit in its application to a degree of simple display. The scope of present image processing system is diversely extended in its application owing to the development of image processing It chips. In this paper, we implement the image processing system operated independently without PC by converting analogue image signals into digital signals. In the proposed image processing system, we extract the motion parameters from analogue image signals and generate the virtual movement to Simulator. Also we analysis the image control algorithm and operate Simulator by extracting motion parameters.

  • This paper describes a novel experiment that measures the skin movement of a hand based on MR (magnetic resonance) images in conjunction with surface modeling techniques. The proposed approach consists of 3 phases: (1) MR scanning of a hand with surface makers, (2) 3D reconstruction from the MR images. and (3) registration of the 3D models. The results of registration are used to trace the skin movement with respect to underlying bone motions by measuring the positions of the surface markers.

  • Caenorhabditis (C) elegans is often used in genetic analysis in neuroscience because its simple organism; an adult hermaphrodite contains only 302 neuron. So the worm is often used to study of cancer, alzheimer disease, aging, etc. To analysis mutant type of the worm, an experienced observer was able to subjectively before, but requirements for objective analysis are now increasing. For this reason, we use automated tracking systems to extract global movement coordinate of the worm. In this paper, we extract features, which are related on reversal and movement of the worm. Using these features, we quantitatively analysis 6 type mutant by movement and reversal characteristic.

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of rhythmic movement therapy for adaptation state in mastectomy patients. The quasi-experimental study was designed using nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design within the framework of Laszarus & Folkman's stress-adaptation model. The subjects of the study were composed thirty-two mastectomy patients, of these fifteen were assigned to the experimental group and seventeen to the control group. Rhythmic movement therapy was carried out twice a week for thirty-five, minutes or forty minutes for six weeks period from August 22 to September 30 in 1994. Data was collected before and after the experimentation. Collected data was analyzed by mens of chi-square test, t-test, two-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient with $SPSS/PC^+$. The results were summarized as follows : 1. Physical symptom score in the experimental group and control group was not significant difference. 2. Joint Movement Parameter in the experimental group and control group was significant difference. 3. Depression score in the experimental group and contrl group was significant difference. 4. Body image score in the experimental group and control group was significant difference. 5. Stress perception score in the experimental group and control group was significant difference. 6. Social adjustment score in the experimental group and control group was significant difference. 7. Each adaptational level in the experimental group and control group according to type of Health Locus of Control were partially significant difference. Depression score and social adjustment score between the experimental group and control group according to others Health Locus of control were significant difference. This data suggest that rhythmic movement therapy was more effective in the group of Others health Locus of Control. 8. Each adaptational level between the experimental group and control group according to amount of spouse support were not significant difference. 9. The significant positive correlation between physical symptom score and body image, between body image and social adjustment, were observed. The significant negative correlation between stress perception score and social adjustment, between depression and body image, between depression and social adjustment, were observed. This data suggest that the more physical symptom score increased, the more body image increased and the more body image, the more social adjustment. And then the more stress perception score decreased, the more social adjustment increasded and the more depression score, the more body image and social adjustment. Thus it is concluded that the rhythmic movement therapy was a useful nursing intervention for adaptation of mastectomy patients.

  • The nature of animation is to create a moving image. Also, it creates a narrative space and visual image which is different form a reality. Therefore, image expression is very important in the animation. Although the domestic animation has a movement, it has not an image which has meaning. For instance, Korean fiction animation ${\ulcorner}$My beautiful girl, Mary${\lrcorner}$ has grand prize in Anncy International Animated Film Festival, 2002. Such achievement give new vision and present a clue of development to our national animation. However, not many people went to the cinema to watch it. The reason is that although 'Mary' has the Fantastic image, she doesn't show a true life image. The film is revival of reality through the image. However, animation is revival of reality through the 'transformation' of the existing image. Therefore, reviving exactly the same as a reality is not the most important fact in the animation image. Preferably, the most important fact in the animation image is that reviving reality into highly wrought image. This paper will study an expression form of animation trough the image. This paper will study an expression form of animation trough the image. Especially, it will concentrate on poetic image. For this, It will associate 'poetic' in literature with 'poetic image' in animation. For this, It will associate 'poetic' in literature with 'poetic image' in animation. Also, a variety poetic animation image will be divided into 1)mongtage 2)rhythm 3) compression 4)metaphor & symbol, and will be looked 'poetic image' effect.
