  • Background: The purpose of this study is to explore the effect of the functions of GMFM and ICF-CY on the activities and participation of ICF-CY sub-items. Design: Cross-sectional study. Method: This study compared and analyzed 95 children with cerebral palsy [type of CP: spasticity 86 (90.5%), hypotonia 4 (4.2%), mixed 5 (5.3%); type of palsy: quadriplegia 13 (13.7%), diplegia 71 (74.7%), hemiplegia 11 (11.6%)] using sub-items of functions, activities and participation from GMFM and ICF-CY. Result: The results show that the activities and participation of ICF-CY (9 sub-items) have significant effect on the functions of GMFM and ICF-CY (8 sub-items) (p<0.05). Conclusion: It is intended to provide data to establish practical therapeutic goals and interventions for functions, activities and participation, which are sub-categories of ICF-CY in cerebral palsy.

  • Purpose: This research is to develop Trailer Durability Test of towing device, in order to cover usage conditions of bike type as well as general type trailer. With the diversification of leisure activities, the population that enjoys various sports and leisure has increased rapidly, and the number of vehicles equipped with camping trailers and bike carriers is also increasing steadily. The purpose of this study is to develop a durable vehicle that has no problem in various customer conditions. Methods: We measured the input load under various conditions of the user by attaching load cell to the body fixing part and towing ball of the towing device. The load in various modes was measured, and the difference between the trailer and the bike carrier type was compared and analyzed. Results: Due to the difference in fixing method and weight between the two types, the trailer has a large longitudinal force and the bike type has a large vertical force. Therefore, it is necessary to durability test method capable of satisfying all longitudinal force and vertical force. Conclusion: We improved the durability test of the towing device by changing the test surface. The new mode has made it possible to shorten the durability test schedule by increasing test efficiency.

  • The population were increased by industrialization and urbanization of the modern society and social activities of the person were rapid increased too. Subsequently the number of motor vehicle accident, sports accident and industrial accident were increased, resulting in the number of oral and maxillofacial trauma were increased. Because of the mandible relatively protruded among the facial bone, the most frequent associated oral and maxillofacial injuries was mandible fracture in the trauma center setting. A clinical study on 411 patients with mandibular fracture who visited in Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Chun-chon Sacred Heart Hospital during 10 years(1997-2006) was done by analysing sex, age, mode, fracture site and treatment method

  • Resistive therapeutic exercise prescription goal is to improve functional performance and capabilities through the development of increased muscular strengh endurance or power. Resistance can be applied to either dynamic or static muscle contractions. Resistive therapeutic exorcise can be carried nut concentrically, eccentrically, isometrically, isokinetically. Neurodevelopmental treatment has not resistive therapeutic exercise concept. But proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitate techniques have resistive therapeutic exercise concept with pattens and techniques. It is aid muscle contraction, motor control and increase strength. Manual muscle testing will help the therapist establish a qualitative and quantitative baseline level of strength. Manual resistance maybe applied a against controlled lengthening contraction re static contraction of a muscle. A repetition maximum is not easy to calculate and is not the most accurate method available today to measure strength before of after a resistive therapeutic exercise program. Oddvar Holten Diagram is essy to calculate and is the most accurate method available today to measure strength before of after a resistive therapeutic exercise program. Plyometric training emphasize the development of muscular power and coordination. Quick bursts of force in functional movement patterns are often necessary of a patient is to return to high-demand occupational, recreational or sports related activities.

  • Estimation of vertical position is critical in applications of sports science and fall detection and also controls of unmanned aerial vehicles and motor boats. Due to low accuracy of GPS(global positioning system) in the vertical direction, the integration of IMU(inertial measurement unit) with the GPS is not suitable for the vertical position estimation. This paper investigates an IMU-barometer integration for estimation of vertical position (as well as vertical velocity). In particular, a new two-step Kalman/complementary filter is proposed for accurate and efficient estimation using 6-axis IMU and barometer signals. The two-step filter is composed of (i) a Kalman filter that estimates vertical acceleration via tilt orientation of the sensor using the IMU signals and (ii) a complementary filter that estimates vertical position using the barometer signal and the vertical acceleration from the first step. The estimation performance was evaluated against a reference optical motion capture system. In the experimental results, the averaged estimation error of the proposed method was 19.7 cm while that of the raw barometer signal was 43.4 cm.

  • The Microsoft Kinect is a motion sensing input device which is widely used for many motion recognition applications such as fitness, sports, and rehabilitation. Until now, most of remote rehabilitation systems with the Microsoft Kinect have allowed the user or patient to do rehabilitation or fitness by following the motion of a video screen. However in this paper we propose a smart remote rehabilitation system with the Microsoft Kinect motion sensor and a wearable ECG sensor which can allow patients to offer monitoring of the individual's performance and personalized feedback on rehabilitation exercises. The proposed noble smart remote rehabilitation is able to monitor and measure the state of the patient's condition during rehabilitation exercise, and transmits it to the prescriber. This system can give feedback to a prescriber, a doctor and a patient for improving and recovering motor performance. Thus, the efficient rehabilitation training service can be provided to patient in response to changes of patient's condition during exercise.

  • Objectives : The aim of this study was to develop search filters able to retrieve the South Korean scientific output and relating the fields of public health, preventive medicine, and physical education, activity, fitness, exercise and sport in MEDLINE between 2000 and 2007. Methods : The search filters were constructed and applied in MEDLINE accessed through PubMed according to the affiliation and subject. The language and place of publication were identified and the evaluation of the geographical filter performance was done. Results : The search format was successfully elaborated and applied, and the articles originated, published in Korea and/or abroad focusing on the fields of public health, preventive medicine, physical education, activity, fitness, exercise and sport, added to MEDLINE between 2000 and 2007 were retrieved. Publications in six languages originated in South Korea were detected. Conclusions : A geographic search filter determined the South Korean research output, and combined with additional filters focused on specific areas. The dynamics of the scientific output followed an increased evolution in all categories. Articles were written mainly in English/Korean. Further research is recommended on developing search strategies in order to retrieve precise and reliable information.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the various types and areas of recent collaborations in fashion industry and to find the utility value of collaboration. Seventy seven cases of fashion collaboration marketing strategies were selected from officially announced literature survey and enterprises information around the world. Among the seventy seven cases of fashion collaboration surveyed in this study, collaboration with other fields made up 59.7 percent, collaboration between the same fashion categories made up 40.3 percent. Among the areas of other fields, collaboration with IT(Information Technology) or Motor enterprises were included and made up 36.4 percent. Collaborations with Culture and art world that fashion brands collaborate with world-renowned industrial designer or artist and star entertainers were also included and made up 23.3 percent. Among the areas of the same categories, collaboration of fashion designer and sports or casual brand made up 22.1 percent. Collaborations of home shopping mall and fashion designer made up 18.2 percent. Collaboration cases surveyed in this study were classified according to three types; co-product development, co-branding, and co-marketing. Collaboration for co-product development made up 72.7 percent. Collaboration for co-branding made up 27.3 percent. Collaboration for co-marketing made up 37.7 percent. These collaboration marketing strategies are very efficient to upgrade brand image and cut the marketing cost by creating new target, product, brand, and promotion through successful partnerships. Therefore, much more various types and areas of fashion collaborations should be developed to create something new for future consumers.
