  • In this paper, the design and characteristics of a ${\pi}-shaped$ ultrasonic motor which is applicable to optical zoom operation of lenssystem for mobile phone are investigated. Its desi후 and simulation of performances are carried out by FEM (finite element method) commercial software. As a simulation result, by applying voltage with single phase, a combined vibration is produced at the surface of an arm of stator. The prototype of motor is fabricated and its outer size is 8*4*2 $mm^3$ including the cylindrical steel rod of 2 mm in diameter as rotor. The motor exhibits a maximum speed of 500 rpm and a power consumption of 0.3 W when driven at 20 Vpp and 64 kHz.

  • This paper presents results of the finite-element(FE) analysis of air-gap flux variation in induction motor when rotor vibration conditions occur. Accurate modelling and analysis of rotor vibration in the machine are developed using FE software packages, and search coils are used for measuring the flux. In the FE analysis, the induction motor with 380 [V], 5 [HP], 4P, 1742 [rpm] ratings is used. The results of FE analysis can be useful for on-line vibration monitoring of the motor.

  • This paper proposes a new method for detecting broken rotor bars in a squirrel-cage induction motor. The air-gap flux variation analysis was done using search coils inserted in stator slots when broken rotor bar occurs. An accurate modeling and analysis of air-gap flux variation in the induction motor are developed using finite-element(FE) software packages, and measurement of the flux are made using search coils. The simulation was done for the induction motor with 380 [V]. 7.5 [kW], 4 Poles, 1,760 [rpm] ratings using the commercial FE analysis tool. The simulation and experiment results can be useful for detecting the broken rotor bar of an induction motor.

  • In this paper, a new approach monitoring rotor vibrations in a squirrel-cage induction motor is proposed.   • Asynchronus high speed turbo blower of 100HP class with gas bearing supports is developed. The high speed motor is cooled by air and it's RPM is controlled by high frequency inverter to adjust inlet flow rate. Product family is ranged from 50 to 200HP and covered by three frames. Highly efficient impeller is designed and proved by performance test on system. Overall measured system efficiency is 82% including motor and inverter. The motor efficiency is about 95%. It is designed to guarantee to operate at ambient temperature of 35 Deg.C and max 45 DegC. Gas bearing with high load capacity is developed to support heavy rotor on low rotational speed.

  • In this paper, A new type of piezoelectric step motor using piezoelectric torsional actuator and a pair of one-way clutch bearing is designed, manufactured and tested. The torsional actuator consists of 16-polygonal tube that can produce angular displacement using shear mode of piezoceramic. One-way clutch bearing convert oscillation of torsional actuator into continuous rotation. After performance testing of torsional actuator, the optimum condition for driving motor is investigated in terms of wave shape, excitation frequency and electrical field. The performance of the motor is experimentally evaluated. As a result, square wave has larger rotation speed than sin wave, and the maximum rotation speed of 57 rpm is measured at 3850 Hz and 100V/mm.

  • 전기펌프시스템은 기존 터보펌프의 가스발생기, 구동기 및 터빈이 필요 없는 매우 간결한 구조를 갖고 있어 저가 소형 위성 발사체의 차세대 추진기관으로써 최근 주목받고 있다. 그래서 본 논문에서는 로켓엔진용 전기펌프 시스템의 가장 중요한 핵심부품인 영구자석 동기모터(PMSM)의 개발 및 발사체로의 적용 가능성을 파악하기 위하여 50 kW, 50,000 RPM의 성능을 가지는 전기모터에 대한 개념설계안을 도출하였다. 요구되는 전기모터의 성능을 만족시키기 위해서 전자기장해석을 수행하여 모터의 전체 외경과 회전자의 내경을 결정하였으며, 회전자는 4,000 가우스의 Sm2Co17 원통형 자석을 이용하여 Inconel 718 재료의 캔으로 체결하였다. 또한, 엔진구동시 모터 운전 영역에서의 회전 동역학적 안정성을 검증하기 위해서 회전체 동역학해석을 수행하였으며, Campbell 선도를 통하여 설계한 모터의 단품운전 뿐만 아니라 성능확인을 위한 Dynamo meter 운전 시에도 공진현상이 발생하지 않음을 해석적으로 확인할 수 있었다.

개선된 다구찌 기법을 이용한 BLDC 전동기의 코깅 토크 저감을 위한 강건 최적설계 (Robust Design Optimization for Reducing Cogging Torque of a BLDC Motor through an Enhanced Taguchi Method)

  • 본 논문에서는 설계변수의 불확실성을 고려한 BLDC 전동기의 코깅 토크 저감 설계를 수행하기 위하여 개선된 다구찌법을 이용한 효율적인 강건 최적설계 기법을 제안하였다. 일반적인 강건 최적설계 문제를 처리할 때 발생하는 기존 다구찌법의 단점을 해결하기 위하여, 벌칙함수와 최적수준 탐색기법이 새로이 도입되었다. 제안된 설계기법의 타당성을 검증하기 위하여 5 kW, 정격속도 2,300 rpm, 정격 토크 20 Nm의 전기자동차 구동용 BLDC 전동기의 코깅 토크 저감을 위한 강건 설계가 수행되었다. 또한 도출된 설계결과를 코깅 토크, 정격 토크 및 토크 리플에 대해 개념설계와 결정론적 최적설계 된 전동기들의 결과와 비교하였다.

BLDC 모터의 온도 및 진동 특성 연구 (Study on Temperature and Vibration of BLDC Motor)

  • In this paper, transient temperature and vibration characteristics of a brushless DC (BLD(c) motor are studied for external load (165W~495W) and rotational speed (2000 rpm~4000 rpm). For experiment, a simple measurement system is developed to allow a change in load and speed for measuring transient temperature and vibration simultaneously. Temperature and vibration were also measured under the conditions of natural convection and forced convection. Vibrations in the directions of x-axis (#Ch1), y -axis (#Ch2) and z -axis (#Ch3) were obtained by three accelerometers and temperature was obtained by a thermo-couple with respect to time until the motor is steady. Experimental results show that the amplitude of vibration is higher in the order of z-axis (#Ch3), x -axis (#Ch1) and y-axis (#Ch2) and the amplitude of vibration at the forced convection conditions is 10.6% to 17.8% lower than that of vibration at the natural convection. However, the ratio of the vibration value is similar on average regardless of external convection condition.
