A study on locomotion module of mobile robot for the blind guidance (맹인 안내용 mobile robot의 locomotion module에 관한 연구)

  • This paper presents a mobile of robot (for the blind) commanded by written course route on MAP. Its locomotion module is composed of PWM motor driving unit, wheel's rotation measurement unit and display and keyboard unit. In algorithm, "COMMAND" and "NEXT PREDICTED POSITION" for locomotion are computed from the MAP and the next position is compared with the measured one. Also, locomotion method for the convenience of the blind is discussed and experimentally demonstrated. In the experiment, the average speed of robot is 0.4m/sec and the computation error of the map is negligible.

  • With the recent progress in flexible manufacturing systems (FMS) in industry, increasing attention has been given to Automatic Guided Vehicle (AGV) systems. An AGV is a self-powered unit for transporting materials between stations without needing to be controlled by an operator. Such a system has several sensors to recognize the external state, and it is designed to travel between stations automatically without external assistance. To manage each device automatically in real time it requires a distributed controller with a main computer as the host, as well as a number of micro-controllers. In this study, an AGV system with dual motor drive was constructed. A Pentium 4 personal computer was set up as the main host for the distributed control, and this communicated with other micro-controllers in the management of the motor. The speed of each motor was also controlled by a micro-controller.

  • We developed a valve actuator controller for thruster system. This thruster system has four actuators and the actuator use a BLDC motor. Controller was made based on system and control requirement. The controller is consist of power, control and Amp. The control module use a micro-controller which is TMS320F28335 of Texas Instruments. It works for digital PID control and CAN communication and system control. The amp module for three phase BLDC motor use IGBT.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a walking assistance system with mobility support and life support functions so that the elderly with reduced physical ability and patients who are uncomfortable when moving can move comfortably indoors and outdoors, and help social life. An obstacle recognition sensor module that can be applied indoors and outdoors is installed on a lightweight walking aid. The purpose of this study is to develop a walking assistance system with mobility support and life support functions so that the elderly with reduced physical ability and patients who are uncomfortable when moving can move comfortably indoors and outdoors, and help social life. An obstacle recognition sensor module that can be applied indoors and outdoors is installed on a lightweight walking aid. It is a system structure of an integrated actuator and brake system that can avoid obstacles in consideration of the safety of the elderly and is easy to install on the device. In this paper, the design of a lightweight walking aid was designed to increase the convenience of the socially disadvantaged and the elderly with reduced exercise ability. In addition, in order to overcome the disadvantage of being inconvenient to use indoors due to the noise and vibration of the motor during operation, an In-Wheel type motor is applied to develop and apply a low noise, low vibration and high efficiency drive system.

  • Since Chrysler Motor Co. had experienced the digital development system in the beginning of 1990's, most of leading automobile companies are trying to apply a digital information system for their own business process reengineering based upon concurrent engineering system from product planning phase. This is called as virtual DMU(Digital Mock-Up) system instead of the traditional PMU(Physical Mock-Up) system. By using the virtual prototype, all of the design requirements and system specifications can be checked, changed and optimized more quickly and more efficiently. This paper consists of five chapters for the DMU information system. In the 1$^{st}$ chapter, the principle of digital design system is suggested by using four basic modules such as product design module, process design module, manufacturing system design module and central control module. The basic scheme of DMU is introduced with the benefits of application in the chapter 2. In the chapter 3, a digital design process of new car development is explained with the detailed DMU design and design review processes. In the chapter 4, the practical DMU manufacturing techniques and applications are introduced as CAD/CAM analyses, DPA(Digital Pre-Assembly)reviews for development, production, operation and maintenance phases, digital tolerance analyses and digital factory analyses for assembling line simulation, automated robot welding processes, production jig & fixtures and painting process simulation. Finally, the activities of digital design support; CAS-styling, CAE-engineering and CAT-testing are summarized for design optimization in the chapter 5. As today's automobile manufactures and related business organizations are struggling to compete in the global marketplace, they are concentrating on efficient use of DMU information system to reduce the new car development cost, to have shorten the delivery schedule and to improve product design quality. To meet the demand of those automobile industries on digital information systems, the CALS(Computer aided Acquisition and Logistics Support) and EC(Electronic Commerce)initiative has been focused as a dominant philosophy in defense & commercial industries, specially automobile industries.s.

  • A generalized special program called planetary transmission analysis(here in after PTA) is developed to improve planetary gear noise in automatic transmission. PTA is capable of analyzing any typical one-degree-of-freedom automatic transmission gear train containing any number of simple, compound or complex-compound planetary gear sets. The kinematics module in PTA can compute the rotational speeds of gears and carriers and calculate the order frequencies to predict the planetary noise components. The power flow analysis module performs a complete static force analysis providing forces, moments, or torques of gears, bearings, clutches and connections. Based on the given type and number of planetary gear sets, the search algorithm determines all possible kinematic configurations and gear tooth combinations in a required set of gear ratios, while eliminating whole kinematic redundancies and unfavorable clutching sequences. By using PTA program, planetary internal speeds of new developed automatic transmission are early obtained; therefore, possibility of the noise problem could be predicted in early design stage. As implementing PTA in planetary gear NVH development procedure, planetary gear noise was successfully reduced by 10 dBA.

  • This Paper is about the study that use the IPM(Intelligent Power Module) which is a integrated switching module to drive inverter gates for driving of a multi-pole BLDC(Brushless Direct Current) motors. When designing a inverter using the various manufacturers IPM, it suggests a electronic circuit system to evaluate the electrical and logical characteristics of the IPM with various brands.

  • This paper describes a fully digitalized driver for BLDC motors which is realized by a single chip microprocessor. The speed change can be done by using the signal obtained from the position detecting sensor and adjusting the pulse width at the input channel of power module. In order to establish a speed control system a repetitive control method is adopted to track a periodic refer-ence change in the BLDC motor system. The experimental results show accurate reference track-ing performance under the given periodic reference in the repetitive controller design.

  • This paper describes the simulation approaches employed for a vector control system of induction motor drive using SIMNON for windows program. SIMNON program tool can solve differential and difference equations for nonlinear dynamical control system. One powerful feature is its ability of allowing integration of individual program modules after each individual module is programed and tested independently. This particular feature is exploited here for an SVPWM inverter drive by real-time modeling and simulation. The suggested programs are provided a simple and complete simulation for induction motor vector drive system.

  • Currently, automotive industries improve the vehicle performance and reduce the development period of vehicle using each module part for the high quality and performance of vehicles. However each component part doesn't generate the noise and vibration problems, sometime these problems are generated on the assembly status between vehicle chassis frame and each module part. On this study, in order to analysis the dynamic characteristics of a shield door module that is a typical module part of vehicles, the acquisition and evaluation process about the vibration and noise of shield door module is developed. Also the possibility to apply to shield door module of the developed process is verified by the comparison with the dynamic characteristics between plastic and steel module plate.
