This paper presents a fast back-type transfer device for snack food processing that uses the inertia of transferred material. A conventional conveying system is a drive system that uses a belt conveyor and mechanical crank, which generate noise and vibration and cause environmental pollution. Vibration and noise are reduced in the proposed fast back feeding device by using a counterweight. The crank drive unit was replaced with a linear servomotor, and an equilibrium device was designed to balance the force due to acceleration. This makes it is possible to adjust the forward and backward speed and acceleration through PLC control. A vibration damper device offsets the vibration force of the periodic shock form. The main cause of the vibration was identified through vibration analysis, and reduction measures were established. We verified the effectiveness of the vibration by making a prototype and performing about 10 vibration tests. Because no mechanical transducer is needed, energy loss, noise, and vibration do not occur, and the operating speed is not limited.
Background: Despite the fact that aquatic exercise is one of the most popular alternative treatment methods for children with cerebral palsy (CP), there are few research regarding its effectiveness. Objects: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of aquatic exercise on upper extremity function and postural control during reaching in children with CP. Methods: Ten participants (eight males and two females; 4-10 years; Gross Motor Function Classification System levels II-IV) with spastic diplegia were recruited to this study. The aquatic exercise program consisted of four modified movements that were selected from the Halliwick 10-point program to enhance upper extremity and trunk movements. The participants attended treatment two times a week for 6 weeks, averaging 35 minutes each session. The Box and Block Test (BBT), transferring pennies in the Bruininks-Oseretsky Test (BOT), and pediatric reaching test (PRT) scores were used as clinical measures. Three-dimensional motion analysis system was used to collect and analyze kinematic data. Differences in BBT and BOT values among pre-treatment, post-treatment, and retention (after 3 weeks) were analyzed using a Friedman test. In addition, the PRT scores and variables (movement time, hand velocity, straightness ratio, and number of movement units) from the three-dimensional motion analysis were tested using a Wilcoxon signed-rank test. The significance level was established at p < 0.05. When the results appeared to be statistically significant, a post-hoc test for multiple comparisons was performed with the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. Results: All clinical measures, which included BBT, transferring pennies of BOT, and PRT, were significantly increased between pre-intervention and post-intervention scores and between pre-intervention and retention scores after treatment (p = 0.001). Three-dimensional motion analysis mostly were significantly improved after treatment (p = 0.001). Conclusion: Aquatic exercise may help to improve body function, activity, and participation in children with varying types of physical disabilities.

Until now peudorabies virus(PRV) has been used a neurotracer, because of it's properties of retrograde & anterograde transport. But it's anterograde transfort is not perfect, so we tested the applicability of the Bartha strain of PRV(PRV-Ba) isolated from South Korea as a neurotracer in the visual system. We performed immunohistochemical study of the rabbit brain after intravitreal injection of the PRV-Ba. After given survival time(24, 48, 72, 96, 120, 144hrs), the brain was removed and processed immunohistochemical stain for PRV-Ba. The strong PRV immunoreactivity(PRV-ir) were almost oberserved contralaterally in oculomotor neurons, fro example Edinger-Westphal nucleus, trigerminal nucleus of pons and peritrigerminal zone but locus of innervating sensitive neurons. The latter were weak positive and selective. PRV-Ba immunoreactive neurons were stained strongly in nucleus compared to cytoplasm. This study suggests that PRV-Ba isolated from South Korea is also a useful neurotracer in the motor innervated system like other PRV-strain.

Stroke is the second most significant disease leading to death in Korea. The conventional therapeutic approach is mainly based on physical training, however, it usually provides the limited degree of recovery of the normal brain function. The electric stimulation therapy is a novel and candidate approach with high potential for stroke recovery. The feasibility was validated by preliminary rat experiments in which the motor function was recovered up to 80% of the normal performance level. It is thought to improve the neural plasticity of the nerve tissues around the diseased area in the stroked brain. However, there are not so much research achievements in the electric stimulation for stroke recovery as for the Parkinson's disease or Epilepsy. This study aims at the developments of a wireless variable pulse generator using ZigBee communication for future implantation into human brain. ZigBee is widely used in wireless personal area network (WPAN) and home network applications due to its low power consumption and simplicity. The developed wireless pulse generator controlled by ZigBee can generate various electric stimulations without any distortion. The electric stimulation includes monophasic and biphasic pulse with the variation of shape parameters, which can affect the level of recovery. The developed system can be used for the telerehabilitation of stroke patient by remote control of brain stimulation via ZigBee and internet. Furthermore, the ZigBee connection used in this study provides the potential neural signal transmission method for the Brain-Machine Interface (BMI).
Background: A major ingredient of green tea is epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), and this is known to have many beneficial effects for cancer prevention and also on the cardiovascular system and neurodegenerative diseases through its anti-oxidant, anti-angiogenic, anti-inflammatory, lipid-lowering and neuroprotective properties. Its actions on nociception and the spinal nervous system have been examined in only a few studies, and in these studies EGCG showed an antinociceptive effect on inflammatory and neuropathic pain, and a neuroprotective effect in motor neuron disease. This study was performed to investigate the effect of EGCG on acute thermal pain and the development of morphine tolerance at the spinal level. Methods: The experimental subjects were male Sprague-Dawley rats and the Hot-Box test was employed. A single or double-lumen intrathecal catheter was implanted at the lumbar enlargement for drug administration. An osmotic pump was used to infuse morphine for 7 days for induction of morphine tolerance. EGCG was injected repeatedly for 7 days at twice a day through the intrathecal catheter. Results: Intrathecal EGCG increased the paw withdrawal latency (PWL) after repeated administration for 7 days at twice a day, but this did not happen with administering on single bolus injection of EGCG. In addition, the antinociceptive effect of intrathecal morphine was not affected by co-administration with EGCG. A continuous 7-day infusion of morphine caused a significant decrease of the PWL in the control group (M + S, morphine plus saline). In contrast, intrathecal EGCG injection over 7 days blocked the decrease of the PWL in the experiment group (M + E, morphine plus EGCG). Conclusions: Intrathecal ECGC produced a weak antinociceptive effect for acute thermal pain, but it did not change the morphine's analgesic effect. However, the development of antinociceptive tolerance to morphine was attenuated by administering intrathecal EGCG.
This study was performed to present the diagnosis basis of cooling performance deficiency according to air quantity included in refrigerant of air-conditioner by detecting the temperatures and pressures of refrigerant pipeline. The car air-conditioner of SONATA III (Hyundai motor Co., Korea) was tested by maximum cooling condition at 1500 rpm of engine speed in the room with controlled air condition at $33\sim35^{\circ}C$ and 55~57% RH. Measured variables were temperature differences between inlet and outlet pipe surface of the compressor (Tcom), condenser (Tcon), receive dryer (Trec) and evaporator (Teva), and high pressure (HP) and low pressure (LP) in the refrigerant pipeline, and temperature difference (Tcoo) between inlet and outlet air of the cooling vent of evaporator. Control variables were the refrigerant charging weight and the vacuum degree in the refrigerant pipeline before charging refrigerant. From the test, it was represented that the measuring values of (Tcom), LP and (Tcoo) were enabled to make the diagnosis of cooling performance deficiency according to quantity included in refrigerant of air-conditioner. The ranges of Tcom, LP and Tcoo to make the diagnosis of cooling performance deficiency were respectively less than $55^{\circ}C$, more than 166.7 kPa-g(1.7 kgf/$cm^2$) and less than $13.7^{\circ}C$. In the case of using only external sensors and the condition under the normal performances of air conditioner, it was considered that the ranges of LP and Tcoo to make the diagnosis of cooling performance deficiency were respectively more than 166.7 Pa and less than $12^{\circ}C$.

In this paper, we evaluate the performance of a fuzzy controller with a self-learning structure. The fuzzy controller is based on a fuzzy logic that approximates and effectively represents the uncertain phenomena of the real world. The fuzzy controller has control of a plant with a fuzzy inference logic. However, it is not easy to decide the membership function of a fuzzy controller and its controlrule. This problem can be solved by designing a self-learning controller that improves its own contropllaw to its goal with a performance table. The fuzzy controller is implemented with a 386PC, an interface board, a D/A converter, a PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) motor drive-circuit, and a sensing circuit, for error and differential of error. Since a Ball and Beam System is used in the experiment, the validity of the fuzzy controller with the self-learning structure can be evaluated through the actual experiment and the computer simulation of the real plant. The self-learning fuzzy controller reduces settling time by just under 10%.

Regarding previously-developed drone simulators, it was easy to check their flight stability or controlling functions based on the condition that their weight was fixed from the design. However, the drone is largely classified into two types that is the one with the fixed weight whose purpose is recording video with camera and racing and another is whole weight-variable during flight with loading the articles for delivery and spraying pesticide though the weight of airframe is fixed. The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the structure of drone and its flight principle, suggest dynamics-model-based simulator that is capable of simulating weight-variable drone and develop the simulator that can be used for designing main control board, motor and transmission along the application of weight-variable drone. Weight-variable simulator was developed by using various calculation to apply flying method of drone to the simulator. First, ground coordinate system and airframe-fixing coordinate system were established and switching matrix of those two coordinates were made. Then, dynamics model of drone was established using the law of Newton and moment balance principle. Dynamics model was established in Simulink platform and simulation experiment was carried out by changing the weight of drone. In order to evaluate the validity of developed weight-variable simulator, it was compared to the results of clean flight public simulator against existing weight-fixed drone. Lastly, simulation test was performed with the developed weight-variable simulation by changing the weight of drone. It was found out that dynamics model controlled various flying positions of drone well from simulation and the possibility of securing the optimum condition of weight-variable drone that has flying stability and easiness of controlling.
BLDC motors have the strong point of allowing high-efficiency operation, yet with the weak point of requiring position information for operation. Moreover, there have recently been frequent cases where the product differentiation of even a cheap BLDC motor demanded a high level of control performance similar to that of a controller using a high-precision position sensor. This paper proposes low cost position sensor that enables the acquisition of rotor position information based on index and incremental PWM, using a single position sensor instead of an expensive incremental encoder or a cheap 3 phase hall sensor. The characteristic of the proposed encoder is that index information at every $60^{\circ}$ of electrical angle is inscribed on the encoder disk, as well as a multiple number of values representing information about PWM, which is obtained by modulating information about the electrical angle of the rotor that has the resolution of $60^{\circ}$. Such a method has the characteristic of enabling the acquisition of high-precision position information based on the information about a multiple number of PWM waveforms and counter values that have all been inscribed on the encoder disk for each $60^{\circ}$ range. The feasibility of the proposed new encoder was verified by fabricating a prototype encoder generating 240 pulses, followed by confirming its performance using Micom's capture and software counter functions.
For ASME Code pumps in nuclear power plants, inservice test is required to assess the operational readiness in accordance with ASME code and related regulations. The objective of this study therefore, is to develop the technical background of the degradation of pump performances and conditions due to low flow rate operation. In addition. the detection techniques of pump operating conditions are to be developed to enhance the safety and economy of nuclear power plants. A test loop consisted of pump, motor. water tank, flow rate measurements and piping system with flow control devices was established for this study. Two typical pumps, 1-stage volute pump and 3-stage turbine pump, were selected and the test was performed upon two major point of views ; i.e., pump discharge pressure pulsations analysis and pump vibration spectrum analysis. From the test results, it is concluded that (1) the pump vibration affected by the natural frequency of operating pump is significant in the low frequency zone (around 1 Hz) : the vibration amplitude. especially. is an important factor during low flow rate operation. and shall be monitored to ensure that it is within the limit of ASME OM code Part 6, (2) the vibration frequency and pump discharge pressure are affected by vane pass frequency and running speed, (3) the wave phenomena due to the compressiblity of water is anticipated during low flow rate operation. and the pump system shall be designed to prevent it and. finally, (4) the technical background of the degradation of pump performances and conditions due to low flow rate operation is provided.
