Development of the speed-measurement device of motor in a crane (기중기의 모터속도 측정장치 개발)

  • The conventional motor in a crane has a tan generator to feed back the number of turns. The tan generator is contacted to a motor shaft through the coupling. Don has been often generated because the coupling has worn out while the motor is turning. In this paper, we design the speed-measurement device of motor in a un. The device is composed of PIC16F84 controller, photo-sensor, and analog-to digital converter. The photo sensor measures the turn of a motor without contact so the device decreases the probability of errors. And The device can acknowledge the turn direction of the motor with a gin81e senor and two color reflectors.

  • In this paper, The strength and driving characteristics of it were investigated according to developing the traction motor for 8200 electric locomotive series. For this purpose, Flux density strength was analyzed and then structural strength was investigated such as a stator frame, design of the rotor shaft bearing according to the design process. In addition, the traction motor operating point was analyzed according to slip frequency variation at a power source frequency. As the results of analysis on torque-speed characteristic curve, we was confirmed that traction motor was controlled as torque control prior to motor speed 1610[rpm], power control between 1610[rpm] and 2500[rpm] and breakdown torque control more than motor speed 2500[rpm].

  • The spindle system with a built-in motor can be used to simplify the structure of machine tools, to improve the machining flexibility of machine tools, and to perform the high speed machining. For more quantitative analysis of a built-in motor's dynamic characteristics, that of tile mass and stillness effects are considered. And the drawbar in the spindle can be in various condition according to supporting stiffness between drawbar and shaft. Therefore, in this paper following items are performed and analyzed : 1. Modal characteristics of the spindle. 2. Analysis of rotor's mass and stiffness effects. 3. Modal characteristics of the spindle including drawbar, rotor and tool. The results show enough stiff supports must be provided between shaft and drawbar to prevent occurring drawbar vibration lower than the natural frequency of 1st bending mode of the spindle, and considering the mass and stiffness of built-in motor's rotor is important thing to derive more accurate results.

  • In the controller design of position or velocity control system, the flexibility of the mechanical system is always the limiting factor to the higher performance. Most mechanical systems coupled with rotary shaft are 2-Inertia systems which are consist of motor and load inertia. These inertias make a torsion In rotary shaft and cause torsional vibration. To suppress vibration, various control strategies have been proposed mainly for controlling 2-inertia system. In this paper, a speed controller design for a 2-inertia system composed of voltage controlled DC motor and load inertia is made by using CDM(coefficient diagram method). First, the 2-inertia system model is derived. Then the CDM is used to design the proper controller. A validity of this approach is confirmed by simulation and experimental results.

The Solution of Severe Vibration Problen of the Secondary Cooling Pump in HANARO (하나로 2차 냉각펌프의 고진동 해소방안)

  • The heat produced by the fission in the fuel of HANARO, 30 MW of research reactor, was transferred from the primary cooling water to the secondary cooling water through heat exchangers. The secondary cooling water absorbing the heat was circulated by secondary cooling pumps and cooled through 33 MW of cooling tower. Each capacity of the three secondary cooling pumps was fifty percent ($50\%$) of full load. The two pumps were normally operated and the other pump was standby. One of the secondary cooling pumps has often made troubles by high vibration. To release these troubles the pump shaft has been re-aligned, the pump bearing has been replaced with new one, the shaft sleeve has been replaced with new one, the shaft and the impeller have been re-balanced representatively and/or the vibration of motor has been tested by disconnecting the shaft of pump. But the high vibration of pump cannot be cleared. We find out the weight balance trouble of the assembly in which the impeller is installed in the shaft. After clearing the trouble, the high vibration is relieved and the pump is operated smoothly. In this paper, the trouble solution shooting method of secondary cooling pump is described including the reason of high vibration

  • Korea High-speed Railway (HSR-350x) was developed by Korean government, several institutes, and related companies. HSR-350x was investigated its performance and tested at the high speed line. In 2004 December, HSR-350x was run over 350km/h and proved its running performance. And Korean Train Express (KTX) served the commercial traffic for 4 years. These high speed railways have 12 motors to transfer the traction effort or the braking force. To obtain the load of the transfer shaft, it is necessary to measure the transferred torque of the shaft. In this paper, authors propose the construction the measurement system fur monitoring the force transferred to the train from the motor The system was installed to the tripod shaft which is located between the reduction gears and it measures the mechanical load directly.

Inspection Algorithm for Double-Cut Defect of Motor Shaft (모터 샤프트 이중컷 불량 검사 알고리즘)

  • This paper proposes an image-processing algorithm for inspecting double-cut defects in the motor shaft manufacturing process. The algorithm consists of extracting the outline using the brightness of the image, obtaining a binarized boundary graph using the extracted outline, and determining the defects from the graph. Defects in which two cut surfaces are separated are considered type 1 defects, and those in which two cut surfaces are connected are defined as type 2 defects. In an actual manufacturing process, 112 good samples and 44 defective samples (34 type 1 defects and 10 type 2 defects) were collected and used to verify the algorithm. The samples were judged with 100% accuracy for both type 1 and type 2 defects. The algorithm will be used in the field after securing reliability for various samples.

  • Generally, A motor integrated spindle is selected to perform the high speed machining, to improve the machining flexibility, and to simplify the structure of machine tools. The thermal deformation caused by heat generation of the integrated motor is, however, serious problem in motor integrated spindle system. In this study, cooling characteristics for the several kinds of cooling systems(such as, oil-jacket cooling, air cooling) are investigated and more efficient cooling method is presented. The results show that the shaft cooling by the air cooling system is effective to improve the thermal characteristic of motor integrated spindle.

  • The interior noise generated by the windshield wiper system including a wiper motor, the motor mountings and linkages is considered as a structure-borne noise. The structureborne noise is closely related with the system vibration which was transmitted into interior cabin through the car body. In this study, the frequency characteristics of vibration in the wiper motor system were first identified through the frequency analysis. Then effects of the wiper motor mountings and linkages on the vehicle interior noise were studied through in-vehicle measurements. Finally a possibility of noise reduction at a certain frequency was revealed from the study.
