국내휘발유 승용차량으로부터의 N2O배출인자 특성연구 (Characteristics of N2O Emission Factor and Measurements from Gasoline-Powered Passenger Vehicles)

  • Nitrous oxide ($N_2O$) is an important trace gas in the atmosphere not only because of its large global warming potential (GWP) but also because of the role in the ozone depletion in the stratosphere. It has been known that soil is the largest natural source of $N_2O$ in global emission. However, anthropogenic sources contributing from industrial section is likely to increase with rising the energy consumption, and transportation as well. In this study, a total of 32 gasoline-powered passenger vehicles (ranging from small to large engine's displacement and also ranging from aged catalyst to new catalyst) were tested on the chassis dynamometer system in order to elucidate the characteristics of $N_2O$ emission from automobiles under different driving modes. Ten different driving modes developed by NIER were adapted for the test. The results show that the $N_2O$ emission decreases logarithmically with increase of vehicle speed over the all test vehicles ($N_2O$) emission = -0.062 Ln (vehicle speed) + $0.289,\;r^2=0.97$). It revealed that the larger engine's displacement, the more $N_2O$ emission were recorded. The correlation between $N_2O$ emission and catalyst aging was examined. It found that the vehicles with aged catalyst (odometer record more than 8,0000km) emit more $N_2O$ than those with new catalyst. Average $N_2O$ emission was $0.086{\pm}0.095\;N_2O-g/km$ (number of samples=210) for the all test vehicles over the test driving modes.

  • 한국형 기동헬기(이하 수리온) 사업은 군이 운용중인 노후헬기를 국산헬기로 대체하기 위하여 연구개발한 사업으로 소요군의 전투력 향상과 운용, 유지 경제성을 고려한 사업이다. 수리온 보조동력장치는 주 발전기의 고장 시 장착 된 교류발전기로 체계에 비상 전원을 공급하는 장치이며 시동모터는 배터리의 전기적 에너지를 기계적 회전에너지로 변환 하여 보조동력장치 엔진을 회전시키는 장치이다. 수리온의 전력화 및 운용이 지속됨에 따라 시동모터의 결함이 발견되었고 이를 해소하기 위한 개선 활동을 진행하였다. 고장모드 분석에서는 결함발생에 대한 현상을 확인하고 결함원인을 5가지로 분류하였다. 5가지 인자에 대한 분석결과 결함의 주요 원인은 기계적 마모이며 이는 스프링 압력과 관련이 있다는 사실을 확인 하였다. 이론적으로 결정 된 압력조절을 통해 250회의 시험검증을 수행하였고 4개의 샘플링 마모량으로 회귀분석을 수행한 결과 모두 0.05이하의 유의수준을 보였기에 대립가설을 채택 하였다. 결론적으로 브러쉬 이상마모와 마모로 인한 파손은 압력조절을 통해 해결할 수 있었으며 시험을 통해 마모량 예측 및 결과 타당성을 확인 할 수 있었다.

트레드밀 운동이 노화 흰쥐 소뇌의 성상세포 활성과 퍼킨제 세포 및 운동기능 변화에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Treadmill Exercise on Cerebellar Astrocyte Activation and Purkinje Cell, and Motor Function in Aged Rats)

  • 본 연구는 12주간의 트레드밀 운동이 노화 흰쥐 소뇌의 성상세포 활성과 퍼킨제 세포 발현 및 운동기능 변화에 미치는 영향에 대해 알아보았다. Sprague-Dawley(SD) 흰쥐를 실험처치에 따라 (1)젊은 통제집단 (Young Control Group; YCG; 3months aged; n=10), (2) 노화 통제집단 (Old Control Group; OCG; 24months aged; n=10), (3) 노화 운동집단 (Old Exercise Group; OEG; 24months aged; n=10)으로 구분한 후 OEG는 트레드밀 운동을 시간과 강도를 점증적으로 증가하여 12주간, 주 5회 실시하였다. 실험결과 rota-rod 검사에서 운동기능이 OCG에 비해 OEG에서 증가하는 것으로 나타났으며(p<.05) 그 수준은 YCG와 유사한 것으로 나타났다. calbindin-양성 퍼킨제 세포의 발현도 OCG에 비해 OEG의 소뇌 충부에서 증가하였으며(p<.05), 그 수준은 YCG와 유사하였다. GFAP-, NMDAR-양성세포의 발현도 OEG에서 증가하였다(각각 p<.001). GFAP, GLAST 단백질 수준은 OCG에 비해 OEG에서 증가하였으며(p<.05, p<.001) 그 수준은 YCG와 유사하였다. BDNF, NGF 수준은 YCG에서 가장 높았으며 OCG에 비해 OEG에서 증가하는 것으로 나타났다(p<.001, p<.05). 이상의 결과를 종합하면 규칙적인 운동은 성상세포의 활성을 향상시킬 뿐만 아니라 신경영양인자의 증가를 통하여 소뇌의 퍼킨제 세포 발현과 운동기능을 개선시키는 것으로 판단된다.

웨스팅하우스형 원전의 보조급수계통 설계변경 영향 평가 (A Safety Improvement for the Design Change of Westinghouse 2 Loop Auxiliary Feedwater System)

  • The auxiliary feedwater is an important to remove the heat from the reactor core when the main feedwater system is unavailable. In most initiating events in Probabilistic Safety Assessment(PSA), the operaton of this system is required to mitigate the accidents. For one of domestic nuclear power plants, a design change of a turbine-driven auxiliary feedwater pump(TD-AFWP), pipe, and valves in the auxiliary system is implemented due to the aging related deterioration by long time operation. This change includes the replacement of the TD-AFWP, the relocation of some valves for improving the system availability, a new cross-tie line, and the installation of manual valves for maintenance. The design modification affects the PSA because the system is critical to mitigate the accidents. In this paper, the safety effect of the change of the auxiliary feedwater system is assessed with regard to the PSA view point. The results demonstrate that this change can supply the auxiliary feedwater from the TD-AFWP in the accident with the motor-driven auxiliary feedwater pump(MD-AFWP) unavailable due to test or maintenance. In addition, the change of MOV's normal position from "close" to "open" can deliver the water to steam generator in the loss of offsite power(LOOP) event. Therefore, it is confirmed that the design change of the auxiliary feedwater system reduces the total core damage frequency(CDF).

A Study on Application of Electric Propulsion System using AFE Rectifier for Small Coastal Vessels

  • The small coastal vessel registered in Korea, small coastal vessels with a gross tonnage of 10 tons or less account for 94.6 % and among them, aged vessels over 16 years age indicate 40.6 %. In order to reduce GHG emissions from small coast vessels, discussions are underway to replace aging ships' propulsion units with eco - friendly propulsion facilities, and the electric propulsion ship is emerging as one of the measures. The electric propulsion system using the DFE rectifier, which was applied in the conventional large commercial vessel, was effective in reducing the harmonics and improving the DC output voltage of the DC link stage, but it occupied a large volume and caused an increase in the overall system price. Therefore, in this paper, we propose an electric propulsion system using AFE rectifier with a small volume of system that can be applied to a small coastal vessel. In order to analyze the effectiveness of the overall system, the load profile was applied to obtain accurate and rapid speed tracking performance of the propulsion motor affected by the speed load. In addition, the power factor and total harmonic distortion factor of the voltage and current on the improved power output side are derived through simulation.

The Development of Aluminum Alloy Piston for Two-Stroke Cycle Engine by Powder Forging

  • The purpose of this paper is to investigate the influences on mechanical properties of two-stroke cycle motor pistons manufactured by casting, conventional forging and powder forging, through the comparison of characteristics, merits and disadvantages of each forming technology. For each forming technology, the optimal process parameters were determined through the experiments for several conditions, and microstructure, hardness, tensile strength and elongation of pistons are compared and analyzed. In conventional forging process, material temperature was $460^{\circ}C$ and the die temperature was $210^{\circ}C$ for the Al 4032. The optimal condition was found as solution treatment under $520^{\circ}C$ for 5 hours, quenching with $23^{\circ}C$ water, and aging under $190^{\circ}C$ for 5 hours. In powder forging process, the proper composition of material was determined and optimal sintering conditions were examined. From the experiment, 1.5% of Si contents on the total weight, $580^{\circ}C$ of sintering temperature, and 25 minutes of sintering time were determined as the optimal process condition. For the optimal condition, the pistons had 76.4~78.3 [HRB] of hardness, and 500 [MPa] of tensile strength after T6 heat treatment.

  • AISI 316 steel has been used extensively for heater and boiler tube of the structural plants such as power, chemical and petroleum plants under severe operating conditions. Usually, material degradation due to microcrack or precipitation of carbides and segregation of impurity elements, is occured by damage accumulated for long-term service at high temperature in this material. In this study, the effect of aging time on fracture toughness was investigated to evaluate the measurement of material degradation. The elastic-plastic fracture toughness behaviour of AISI 316 steel pipe aged at $550^{\circ}C$for 1h-10000h (the aged material) was characterized using the single specimen J-R curve technique and eletric potential drop method at normal loading rate(load-line displacement speed of 0.2mm/min) in room temperature and air environment. The fracture toughness data from above experiments is compared with the $J_{in}$ obtained from predicted values of crack initiation point using potential drop method.

  • 고분자경화제를 사용한 라이너와 HTPB 추진제의 접착력 및 접착공정을 개선연구를 수행하였다. HTPB와 TDI를 반응시켜 제조된 고분자경화제를 라이너에 사용하면, 접착계면에서 경화제의 이동현상이 줄어든다. 따라서 연소관 준비공정에서 내열재 연마 및 물질이동방지제 도포공정의 생략이 가능하며 HTPB 추진제와 라이너의 접착력이 증가되었다. 또한 가속노화 시험결과 접착력의 저하현상이 관찰되지 않았다.

운동 프로그램이 노인의 전두엽 인지기능에 미치는 효과 (Effects of an Exercise Program on Frontal Lobe Cognitive Function in Elders)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of an exercise program on frontal lobe cognitive function in seniors. Methods: The participants were 42 seniors using a health center in Seoul (experimental group) and 28 seniors using a facility for elders in Seoul (control group). The exercise program was carried out for 16 weeks from April to August 2007. The frontal lobe cognitive function, which includes short term memory, attention, immediate memory, delayed memory, verbal fluency and motor function, was measured by the Digit Span Forward test, Trail Making test, Immediate recall words test, Delayed recall words, Controlled oral word association test and Finger tapping test. The collected data were analyzed by Fisher's exact test, Chi-square, t-test, and ANCOVA using the SAS program. Results: The major findings of this study were as follows: Attention (p=.009), immediate memory (p=.005), delayed memory (p=.009), and verbal fluency (p=.004) improved after the exercise program. Conclusion: In this study, the exercise program was effective in improving frontal lobe cognitive function in elders. So it provides basic information for further nursing education on exercise programs which will be effective for prevention of early cognitive function decline in normally aging elders.
