Development of Driving Simulator for Safety Training of Agricultural Tractor Operators

  • Purpose: This study was aimed at developing a tractor-driving simulator for the safety training of agricultural tractor operators. Methods: The developed simulator consists of five principal components: mock operator control devices, a data acquisition and processing device, a motion platform, a visual system that displays a computer model of the tractor, a motion platform, and a virtual environment. The control devices of a real tractor cabin were successfully converted into mock operator control devices in which sensors were used for relevant measurements. A 3D computer model of the tractor was also implemented using 3ds Max, tractor dynamics, and the physics of Unity 3D. The visual system consisted of two graphic cards and four monitors for the simultaneous display of the four different sides of a 3D object to the operator. The motion platform was designed with two rotational degrees of freedom to reduce cost, and inverse kinematics was used to calculate the required motor positions and to rotate the platform. The generated virtual environment consisted of roads, traffic signals, buildings, rice paddies, and fields. Results: The effectiveness of the simulator was evaluated by a performance test survey administered to 128 agricultural machinery instructors, 116 of whom considered the simulator as having potential for improving safety training. Conclusions: From the study results, it is concluded that the developed simulator can be effectively used for the safety training of agricultural tractor operators.

해저의 초음파 산란 특성에 관한 연구 ( I ) (Acoustic Scattering Characteristics of the Sea Bottom ( 1 ))

  • 해저의 초음파산란층특성을 정량적으로 검토하기 위한 기초적 연구로서 선체의 동요로 인한 해저 Echo 신호의 파형과 진폭의 변동특성에 관하여 검토를 행한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. (1) 해저 Echo 신호의 진폭은 1차 산란신호의 경우가 2차 산란신호보다 매우 불규칙하게 변동하였으나, 신호파형의 등가 Pulse 폭은 2차 산란신호가 1차 산란신호보다 약 2.4배 신장되어 수신되었다. (2) 해저산란파의 Echo Energy 변동은 Peak 진폭의 변동보다 매우 완만하고, 또 선체가 일정 경사각 범위 내에서 불규칙적으로 동요하는 경우, 선체동요에 기인하는 해저 Echo 진폭의 변동성분은 선체경사가 없는 경우에 대한 진폭성분과 서로 분리되어 나타났다. (3) 저질이 모래펄(MS)인 해저의 평균 Energy 산란강도는 -13.4 dB로서 평균 Peak 산란강도 -14.6 dB보다 1.2 dB 큰 값을 나타내었다.

일반화된 4차원 특징을 이용한 행동 방향 인식 (Recognizing the Direction of Action using Generalized 4D Features)

  • 본 논문에서는 4차원 시공간 (4D-ST, [x,y,z,t]) 특징을 이용하여 행동 방향을 인식하는 방법을 제안한다. 이를 위해 4차원 시공간 특징점 (4D-STIPs, [x,y,z,t])을 제안하였고, 이는 여러 다른 뷰에서 촬영한 이미지들로부터 복원된 3차원 공간 (3D-S, [x,y,z]) 볼륨으로부터 계산된다. 3차원 공간정보를 갖고 있는 3D-S 볼륨과 4D-STIPs는 2차원 공간 (2D-S, [x,y]) 뷰로 사영을 하여 임의의 2D-S 뷰에서의 특징을 생성해 낼 수 있다. 이 때, 사영 방향을 결정 할 수 있으므로, 학습 시 방향에 대한 정보를 포함하여 행동 방향을 인식 할 수 있다. 행동 방향을 인식하는 과정은 두 단계로 나눌 수 있는데, 우선 어떤 행동인지를 인식하고 그 후, 방향 정보를 이용하여 최종적으로 행동 방향을 인식한다. 행동 인식과 방향 인식을 위해, 사영된 3D-S 볼륨과 4D-STIPs은 각각 움직이는 부분과 움직이지 않는 부분에 대한 정보를 담고 있는 motion history images (MHIs)와 non-motion history images (NMHIs)로 구성된다. 이러한 특징들은 행동 인식을 위해, 방향 정보에 상관없이 같은 행동이면 같은 클래스로 분류되어 support vector data description (SVDD) 분류기로 학습되고, support vector domain density description (SVDDD)을 이용하여 인식된다. 인식된 행동에서 최종적으로 방향을 인식하기 위해 각 행동을 방향 클래스로 분류하여 SVDD 분류기로 학습하고 SVDDD로 인식한다. 제안된 방법의 성능을 보이기 위해서 INRIA Xmas Motion Acquisition Sequences (IXMAS) 데이터셋에서 제공하는 3D-S 볼륨을 사용하여 학습을 하고, 행동 방향 인식 실험이 가능한 SNU 데이터셋을 구축하여 인식 실험을 하였다.

스테레오 감마선 탐지장치의 고속 방사선 탐지기법에 관한 연구 (The Study for the Method of Fast and Efficient Gamma-ray Detection for the Stereo Gamma-ray Ddetection System)

  • In this paper, we propose the fast and efficient detection method using the continuous measurement technique for the gamma-ray signal acquisition. This method is improved than the conventional method for the getting information of the radiation distribution. First, we implement the stereo radiation detection system using gamma-ray sensors and the motion controller. We apply continuous measurement technique to the gamma-ray detector and conduct gamma-ray irradiation test for the comparison of detection techniques. The results show that the continuous measurement technique has the high efficient performance than the conventional method.

Mapping of Real-Time 3D object movement

  • Tracking of an object in 3D space performed in real-time is a significant task in different domains from autonomous robots to smart vehicles. In traditional methods, specific data acquisition equipments such as radars, lasers etc, are used. Contemporary computer technology development accelerates image processing, and it results in three-dimensional stereo vision to be used for localizing and object tracking in space. This paper describes a system for tracking three dimensional motion of an object using color information in real time. We create stereo images using pair of a simple web camera, raw data of an object positions are collected under realistic noisy conditions. The system has been tested using OpenCV and Matlab and the results of the experiments are presented here.

  • Because of the environmental matters the importance of the city railroad is as time goes by increasing. The case of obstacle of the power equipment which supplies electric power to city railroad will occur social and economical enormous loss. Thus, I studied on the preventing method in advance which makes it possible for us to maintain facilities efficiently. The main check points of the power facilities are voltage, current, humidity, partial discharge, move current. These points are gathered by sensor and transmitting to data acquisition device. These data are used to check equipment status in real time. In this paper I described in brief test process and results of the detection system.

  • This paper introduces a real time inspecting and monitoring system by using wireless communication and image processing technique. The communication system is developed by using 80c196kc microprocessor and it has data acquisition function for several kinds of sensors such as pluviometer, temperature, tension meter, elinometer and so on. The image processing method adopts Lalacian of Gaussian operator and least square method to extract line features for the captured images and uses a relaxation matching algorithm based in global structure constraint satisfaction to distinguish the matching error for those features.   • There is an accelerating need for ocean sensing where autonomous vehicles can play a key role in assisting engineers, researcher and scientists with environmental monitoring and collecting oceanographic data. This paper is performed to develops an autonomous sailing drone to be used as a sensor carrying platform for autonomous data acquisition at Sea. From a sailing drone design viewpoint, it is important to establish reliable prediction methods for sailing drone's resistance. The required power for the propulsion unit depends on the ship resistance and speed. There are three solutions for the prediction of ship resistance as follow analytical methods, model tests in tanks and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). The present paper aims at simulating sailing drone friction resistance using numerical method. The dynamic mesh motion is used to describe the sailing drone movement.

  • 기존 논문에서 CCD 카메라를 이용해 3차원 데이터를 획득하는 시스템을 소개했었다. 하지만, 정확도에서는 기존에 개발한 다른 PSD카메라를 이용한 시스템과 큰 차이를 보이지 않았다. 본 논문에서는 정확도를 개선하기 위한 여러 가지 실험을 했으며, 결과를 통해 상당히 향상되었음을 알 수 있다. 제안된 방법은 왜곡제거, z축 보정 등이며, 각 방법의 비교실험을 통해 얼마나 개선되었는지 살펴본다.

초음파 핑거를 이용한 수파기 좌표의 보정 (Calibration of hydrophone Coordinates by the Telemetry techniques)

  • The accuracy of the position fixing with telemetry techniques depends in general on the accuracy of the location of the receiving point(hydrophone). To increase the accuracy of the coordinates of four hydrophones suspended down at both sides of the vessel anchored, each hydrophone motion is compensated using a depth pinger mounted on the seabed of 30m depth. The pinger location is calculated with a hyperbolic method. Using this technique so called hydrophone coordinates calibration, the movement of the Remotely Operated Vehicle(ROV), which has the same type of pinger mentioned above could be tracked down more accurately. Under the maximum variation ranges of a hydrophone of 5.2m in athwartships, 3.2m in alongship, and about 0.2m/s of the moving velocity in both directions, the ROV track with calibration is more close to the reality than that without calibration Tow depth pingers of same frequency can be distinguished by the use of three factors; The pulse period, the phase and the pulse period variation allowed in acquisition of the pinger as far as its pulse period is varied in smooth.
