In general, the Korean morpheme analysis procedure is divided into two steps. In the first step as an ambiguity generation step, an Eojeol is analyzed into many morpheme sequences as candidates. In the second step, one appropriate candidate is chosen by using contextual information. Hidden Markov Model(HMM) is typically applied in the second step. This paper proposes Sub-word Conditional Probability(SCP) model as an alternate algorithm. SCP uses sub-word information of adjacent eojeol first. If it failed, then SCP use morpheme information restrictively. In the accuracy and speed comparative test, HMM's accuracy is 96.49% and SCP's accuracy is just 0.07% lower. But SCP reduced processing time 53%.
Poly($\varepsilon$-caprolactone) nano/microcapsules(nmcPCL) containing phytoncide oil were synthesized by emulsion diffusion method using ethyl acetate and poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) as an organic solvent and an emulsion stabilizer respectively. The influence of the degree of saponofication of the PVA and the weight ratio of core to wall materials was investigated to design nanocapsules in terms of particle size, morphology, and emulsion stability. The encapsulated nmcPCL were characterized by FT-IR spectrometry, particle size analyzer and scanning electron microscope. Mean size of nanocapsules prepared with PVA with a degree of saponofication of 87% was smaller than those of PVA with a degree of saponofication of 98.5% and the mean particle size of the capsules decreased with increasing core/shell ratio.

In this paper, we propose a method of automatically constructing a dictionary by extracting unknown words from given eojeols in order to improve the performance of a Korean morphological analyzer. The proposed method is composed of a dictionary construction phase based on full text analysis and a dictionary construction phase based on web document frequency. The first phase recognizes unknown words from strings repeatedly occurred in a given full text while the second phase recognizes unknown words based on frequency of retrieving each string, once occurred in the text, from web documents. Experimental results show that the proposed method improves 32.39% recall by utilizing web document frequency compared with a previous method.
The evolution of incipient soot particles has been examined by high resolution electron microscopy (HRTEM) and elemental analyzer in ethylene-air inverse diffusion flames. Laser Induced Incandescence(LII) and laser scattering methods were introduced for examining the soot volume fraction and morphological properties in combustion generated soot qualitatively. Soot particles, collected by thermophoretic sampling, were analyzed by using HRTEM to examine the nano structure of precursor particles. HRTEM micrographs apparently reveal a transformation of condensed phase of semitransparent tar-like material into precursor particles with relatively distinct boundary and crystalline which looks like regular layer structures. During this evolution histories, C/H analysis was also performed to estimate the chemical evolution of precursor particles. The changes of C/H ratio of soot particles with respect to residence time can be divided into two parts: one is a very slowly increasing regime where tar-like materials are transformed into precursor particles (inception process) the other is an increasing region with constant rate where surface growth affects the increase of C/H ratio dominantly (surface growth process). These results provide a clear picture of a transition to mature soot from precursor materials.
Objectives : The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of various electroacupuncture stimulation on neuronal nitric oxide synthase(nNOS) in cerebral cortex, brain stem, cerebellum of spontaneously hypertensive rats. Methods : We evaluated the changes of nNOS-positive neurons using a immunohistochemical method. The staining intensity of nNOS positive neurons was assessed in a quantitative fashion using a microdensitometrical method based on optical density by means of an image analyzer. Results : The average optical density of nNOS-positive neurons of 100 Hz (bipolar square wave 0.2 ms duration and 100 Hz frequency) electroacupuncture treatment group significantly decreased in most cortical areas comparison between the manual acupuncture and 2 Hz (bipolar square wave 0.2 ms duration and 2 Hz frequency) electroacupuncture groups. In the brain stem, the optical density of nNOS-positive neuron at superficial gray layer of the superior colliculus area, dorsolateral periaqueductal gray area and paralemniscal nucleus were same as cerebral cortex. Conclusion : We conclude that the morphological evidence for nNOS-positive neurons may be have regional change in cerebral cortex brain stem and cerebellum according to various electroacupuncture stimulations.

An efficient and effective access to needed information becomes an important factor in the modern information society. Many people have developed information retrieval (IR) systems that retrieve needed information from a large amount of data at a given time. However, most freely available IR systems have been developed for English text rather than for Korean text. In this research, we have analyzed the IR system freeWAIS-sf, and localized it with the Korean morphological analyzer, namely HAM. The localized freeWAIS-sf can handle both English text and Korean text simultaneously. We have also modified the weighting scheme of freeWAIS-sf. The experimental result shows that the modified weighting scheme outperforms the original one in terms of retrieval effectiveness.
A thermotropic liquid crystalline polymer (TLCP) containing a flexible spacer was synthesized from hydroquinone, p-hydrofybenzoic acid, and 1,6-dibromohexane. Intercalation of TLCP in layered clays is accomplished by heating the polymer with dodecyl ammonium-montmorillonite (C$_{12}$-MMT) above melt transition temperature (T$_{m}$). Liquid crystallinity of the TLCP/C$_{12}$-MMT hybrid was not observed when $C_{12}$-MMT content was above 1 wt%. Some of the $C_{12}$-MMTs in TLCP were highly dispersed in a nanometer scale, but some of them were agglomerated. Thermal and morphological properties of the nanocomposites were examined by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA), polarized optical microscope, and electron microscopes (SEM and TEM). TEM).

Nanogels are internally cross-linked particles of sub-micrometer size made of hydrophilic polymers and are considered a distinct type of macromolecules, compared with linear and branched polymers or macroscopic gels. In this study, we studied a method of radiation induced synthesis of nanogels, which allows us to obtain tailored intra-molecularly crosslinked macromolecules of independently chosen molecular weight and dimensions. Thus, we report the possibility of applying the prepared nanogels using poly(acrylic acid) through electron beam irradiation for potential application as biomaterials. The nanogels were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). In addition, the size and zeta-potential of nanogels were measured by a particle size analyzer (PSA). The nanogels were prepared at an approximate size of 180 nm at 100 kGy and were spherical in shapes. The size of the nanogels decreased with increasing irradiation doses, and the absolute value of zeta potential increased with increasing irradiation doses.
We have been studying a deep-learning program that can communicate with other users in online communities since 2017. But there were problems with processing a Korean data set because of Korean characteristics. Also, low usage of GPUs of RNN models was a problem too. In this study, as Natural Language Processing models are improved, we aim to make better results using these improved models. To archive this, we use a Transformer model which includes Self-Attention mechanism. Also we use MeCab, korean morphological analyzer, to address a problem with processing korean words.

To establish an accurate asbestos analysis method for workplace samples, chrysotile, amosite, crocidolite, tremolite, actinolite, and anthophyllite asbestos fibers were analyzed for their morphology, atomic content and electron diffraction patterns. The morphology of asbestos fiber was evaluated in $10,000{\times}$ magnification. The atomic contents was analyzed by X-ray analyzer (TEM-EDX). Asbestos fibers were further assessed using electron diffraction (ED) patterns to provide an additional criterion for classifying the asbestos fibers. Twenty asbestos fibers were initially randomly selected for morphological evaluation; based on an aspect ratio (length : diameter = 3:1). Then the fibers were determined for their EDX spectrums and ED patterns. Our results showed that only chrysotile fiber has a hollow tube structure to be distinguished from other asbestos fibers. Although asbestos fibers had similar morphology, they had different EDX spectrums and ED patterns. Our results on the atomic content of asbestos fibers were very similar to those of other researchers, but amosite and crocidolite had a little difference in atomic content compared with the results from other researchers. The difference may be due to the difference in equipment or asbestos sample selection. A study on asbestos samples from biological specimens to establish a criterion for determining occupational asbestos exposed diseases should be done in the near future.
