Affording Emotional Regulation of Distant Collaborative Argumentation-Based Learning at University

  • We study emotion regulation in a distant CABLe (Collaborative Argumentation Based-Learning) setting at university. We analyze how students achieve the group task of synthesizing the literature on a topic through scientific argumentation on the institutional Moodle's forum. Distinguishing anticipatory from reactive emotional regulation shows how essential it is to establish and maintain a constructive working climate in order to make the best out of disagreement both on social and cognitive planes. We operationalize the analysis of anticipatory emotional regulation through an analytical grid applied to the data of two groups of students facing similar disagreement. Thanks to sharp anticipatory regulation, group 1 solved the conflict both on the social and the cognitive plane, while group 2 had to call out for external regulation by the teacher, stuck in a cyclically resurfacing dispute. While the institutional digital environment did afford anticipatory emotional regulation, reactive emotional regulation rather occurred through complementary informal and synchronous communication tools. Based on these qualitative case studies, we draw recommendations for fostering distant CABLe at university.

Role of e-Learning Environments in Training Applicants for Higher Education in the Realities of Large-Scale Military Aggression

  • Electronic educational environments in the conditions of quarantine restrictions of COVID-19 have become a common phenomenon for the organization of distance educational activities. Under the conditions of Russian aggression, Ukrainian proof of their use is unique. The purpose of the article is to analyze the role of electronic educational environments in the process of training applicants for higher education in Ukraine in the realities of a large-scale war. General scientific methods (analysis, synthesis, deduction, and induction) and special pedagogical prognostic methods, modeling, and SWOT analysis methods were used. In the results, the general properties of the Internet educational platforms common in Ukraine, the peculiarities of using the Moodle and Prometheus platforms, and an approximate model of the electronic learning environment were discussed. The reasons for the popularity of Moodle among Ukrainian universities are analyzed, but vulnerable elements related to security are emphasized. It was also determined that the high cost of Prometheus software and less functionality made this learning environment less relevant. The conclusions state that the military actions drew the attention of universities in Ukraine to the formation of their own educational platforms. This is especially relevant for technical and military institutions of higher education.

  • The paper describes aspects regarding an E-learning approach of resonant ac inverters. The learning process is based on "Learning by Doing" paradigm supported by several learning tools: electronic course materials, interactive simulation, laboratory plants and real experiments accessed by Web Publishing Tools under LabVIEW. Built on LabVIEW and accompanied by a robust, flexible and versatile hardware, the experiment allows a comprehensive study by remote controlling and performing real measurements on the inverters. The study is offered in a gradual manner, according to the Leonardo da Vinci project EDIPE ($\b{E}$-learning $\b{D}$istance $\b{I}$nteractive $\b{P}$ractical $\b{E}$ducation) philosophy: theoretical aspects followed by simulations, while in the end the real experiments are investigated. Studying and experimenting access is opened for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week under the Moodle booking system.

  • The purpose of this paper was to design and implement effective learning model for internet ethics education, following the learning principle and procedure of PBL(Problem-Based Learning) which is one of the constructivism teaching-learning theories(, and to apply it). In this learning model, online learning and face-to-face classes were systematically combined for achieving the teaching-learning goals and the main module for online learning run on Moodle, an open source LMS(Learning Management System). It is possible for learner to participate actively in creation of micro-contents and reorganize contents using various SNS(Social Network Service). The learner can achieve the learner-oriented learning and select micro-contents in order to reorganize the personalized learning contents to take advantage of SNS among learners. To examine educational effectiveness of the proposed learning model, an experimental study was conducted through the education content and method to the subjects of two classes in the second-grade of university located in OO city. 60 students(treatment group=30, control group=30) participated in the experiment. The result statistically verified that the proposed learning method is more effective in cultivating consciousness of internet ethics than the face-to-face PBL learning method. The results of this paper also showed that a lecture using blended learning is efficient in achieving learning performance and that learners responded positively(, which are indicating that the higher effectiveness of learning would be expected) by forming connectedness among learners using SNS. Opportunities and prospects for personalizing the user interface of the educational platform in accordance with the personality psychotypes

  • The article is devoted to the actual problem of studying the possibilities of implementing personalization of the user interface in accordance with the personality psychotypes. The psychological aspect of user interface design tools is studied and the correspondence of their application to the manifestations of personality psychotypes is established. The results of the distribu-tion of attention of users of these categories on the course page of the educational platform are presented and the distribution of attention in accordance with the focus on educational material is analyzed. Individual features and personal preferences regarding the used design tools are described, namely the use of accent colors in interface design, the application of the prin-ciples of typographic hierarchy, and so on. In accordance with this, the prospects for implementing personalization of the user interface of the educational platform are described. The results of the study allow us to state the relevance of developing and applying personalization of the user interface of an educational platform to improve learning outcomes in accordance with the psychological impact of individual design tools, and taking into account certain features of user categories. The research is devoted to the study of user attention concentration using heatmaps, in particular based on eyetreking technology, we will investigate the distribution of user attention on the course page of an educational platform Ta redistribution of atten-tion in accordance with certain categories of personality psychotypes. The results of the study can be used to rearrange the LMS Moodle interface according to the user's psychotype to achieve the best concentration on the training material. The obtained data are the basis for developing effective user interfaces for personalizing educational platforms to improve the quality of the education.
