UWB Antenna with Band Stop Characteristic in UNII Band (UNII 밴드에서 대역 저지 특성을 갖는 초광대역 안테나)

  • A novel ultra wideband microstrip-fed circular patch antenna having band stop characteristic in UNII band is presented. The band stop characteristic is realized by inverted-U shaped slot. The range of stop bandwidth can be adjusted by changing the length of the slot. The measured impedance bandwidth of the proposed antenna is from 2.9 GHz to 12.1 GHz with the stop band from 4.9 GHz to 6 GHz for VSWR<2. This antenna shows a monopole-like radiation pattern and flat gain characteristic throughout the operating frequency band.

  • Input impedance of the inverted L antenna which is modified from a monopole antenna varies to very high input impedance value when the ration of vertical height to horizontal length is reduced. So its impedance matching becomes very difficult. In this paper, we analyzed the input impedance variation range depending on the ratio of vertical height to horizontal length in the normal and ferrite thin film added configuration for the input impedance control. For the exact analysis involving the permittivity, permeability and conductivity of ferrite material, FDTD numerical method is used.

  • In this paper, we studied on-board antenna(primary link/secondary link/satellite link) used in UAV Data-link system. As a result, it is ideal to configure the Data-link as a triple link to secure the flight stability of the UAV, but the communication link should be configured according to the operating platform. As a result of overseas R&D trend analysis, the on-board Data-link antenna is installed and operated in a location where it is easy to secure LOS. The primary link consists of a directional antenna for basic operation and an omni-directional antenna for emergency operation. The secondary link uses a monopole/dipole antenna in the UHF/C band. Satellite link has been developed to apply phased array antenna to improve UAV operability.

  • In this paper, the compact antenna with three folded patches for use in a number of bands of LTE, WCDMA, US-PCS, and WLAN at the same time is proposed. As the changes in widths of the 3 patches to widen the insufficient bandwidth are given, it is optimized for $S_{11}$<-6dB(VSWR<3). The CPW with a number of advantages is used in the proposed antenna. The proposed antenna is designed and fabricated with FR4 substrate to the size of $44.9{\times}35{\times}1mm^3$. Fabricated antenna has within $S_{11}$<-6dB under operating bands. And measured characteristics of radiation patterns and gains are shown under operating bands.

  • In this paper, a novel rectangular patch antenna is proposed to have Zeroth Order Resonance(ZOR) generated based on the Metamaterial Complosite Right- and Left-Handed(CRLH) structure. Making the in-phase electric field over the entire antenna other than a half-wavelength as the fundamental resonance mode of a standard microstrip patch or its positive multiple, the metallic patch is suggested to be capacitively coupled with only one surrounding rectangular ring, different from the previous 1D ZOR antennas commonly having several metal cells in line. The performance of the proposed antenna is simulated by a 3D field solver that inputs the sizes of the physical structure corresponding to the equivalent circuit designed to have ZOR at 2.4 GHz. Consequently, the resonance frequency, the gain and the antenna efficiency are observed 2.4 GHz, 5 dB and 98%, respectively. Besides, the important property of the proposed antenna is addressed as the combination of the low profile as an advantage of microstrip patch antennas, and the omni-directional field pattern typical of monopole antennas.

  • In this paper, we propose beamsapce MIMO(mulitple input multiple output) system using patch ESPAR(Electronically Steerable Parasitic Array Radiator) antenna. When using conventional monopole ESPAR antenna, we have advantages cost of hardware and power consumption of RF cirsuit because of single RF chian. But it is difficult to apply to small portable mobile device. Therefore we design patch ESPAR antenna in order to reducing volume and analyze performance of BS MIMO system that is able to MIMO communication with single RF chain. In This paper, we confirm beam pattern of designed patch ESPAR antenna is steered as ${\pm}15^{\circ}$ elevation angle. Furthermore, we design BS MIMO system using this ESPAR antenna and confirm BER performance of this system.

  • In this paper, we designed and fabricated the trapezoidal antenna using the CPWG structure for Wibro and WLAN communications. This antenna has broadband characteristics using the basic trapezoidal antenna, and an H-shaped parasitic patch is making an expansion of resonance bandwidth and bringing stability of impedance matching. Especially, CPWG structure is combined two kinds of the structure which of a monopole antenna and a coplanar waveguide antenna. They make up for the weak point of the CPW which is variation of impedance matching according to varying the gap or size of the feed line and the ground. The designed antenna has occurred resonances of which the band of 2.2 GHz to 4.6 GHz(70.5 %) below the return loss of -10 dB($VSWR{\leq}2$) obtained in measurement, and it has an omnidirectional radiation pattern of H-plane. In addition, the changes of impedance matching appear slightly caused by the effects of the ground plane and the feed line.

  • In this paper, we propose a multi-band small antenna with CPW(Coplanar Waveguide) feeding structure WLAN(Wireless Local Area Network) and WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) bands. The proposed antenna is designed two slit in the modified monopole type radiator and FR-4 substrate, which is thickness 1.0 mm, and the dielectric constant is 4.4. The size of proposed antenna is 15.1 mm⨯16.41 mm, and total size of proposed antenna is 17.5 mm⨯16.4 mm. From the fabrication and measurement results, From the fabrication and measurement results, bandwidths of 439 MHz (2.06 to 2.499 GHz), 840 MHz (3.31 to 4.25) and 1,315 MHz (5.23 to 6.545 GHz) were obtained on the basis of -10 dB impedance bandwidth. Also, 3D radiation pattern characteristics of the proposed antenna are displayed and measured gains 2.24 dBi, 2.83 dBi, and 2.0 dBi shown in the three frequency band, respectively.

  • This paper investigate the interaction of electromagnetic fields(EF's) in the human head with respect to the radiated waves from 1.8〔GHz〕 PCS terminal that the titled angles of a monopole antenna between the head and the horizontal axis of the terminal are 45, 60, 75 and 90 degrees respectively. And then, it is found the fact that the induced SAR distri bution in the model of the head gradually decreases by in creasing the titled angle.
