Multipoint Process Monitoring System Based on a Near Infrared Ray(NIR) Acousto-Optic Tunable Filter(AOTF)

  • This paper describes a newly designed multipoint process monitoring system based on a NIR acousto-optic tunable filter. The NIR multipoint process monitoring system consists of a NIR AOTF device for wavelength selection, an InGaAs array sensor, and a specially designed iin-line type of optical fiber probe. Unlike a FTS(Fourier Transform Spectrometry) or grating based monitoring system, an AOTF has no moving parts, and it can be rapidly tuned to any wavelength in its operating range within microseconds. Thus, the AOTF is advantageous in terms of faster spectral imaging capability and rigidity required for industrial monitoring environment.   • From the 1978 Seasat synthetic aperture radar(SAR) to present systems, spaceborne SAR has demonstrated the capability to image the Earth's ocean and land features over broad areas, day and night, and under most weather conditions. The application of SAR for surveillance of commercial fishing grounds can did in the detection of illegal fishing activities and provides more efficient use cf limited aircraft or patron craft resources. In the area of vessel traffic monitoring for commercial vessels, Vessel Traffic Service (VTS) which uses the ground-based radar system has some difficulties in detecting moving ships due to the limited detection range cf about 10 miles. This paper introduces the field testing results of ship detection by RADARSAT SAR imagery, and proposes a new approach for a Vessel Monitoring System(VMS), including VTS, and SAR combination service.

  • Individual internal monitoring program by in-vivo measurement technique at the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute includes the capability for the assessment of uranium and americium lung burdens. This capability is an important part of the health and safety program. This article addresses the lung burden assessment portion of our in vivo measurement capabilities.

  • Recently, the interest in safety assessment of civil infrastructures is increasing in Korea. Especially, as bridge structures become large-scale, it is necessary to monitor and maintain the safety state of bridges, which requires the monitoring system that can make a long-term measurement during the service time of bridge. In this paper, advanced fiber optic sensors for long-term measurement, setup techniques of bridge monitoring system and the assessment of measured data are introduced. Attached or embedded optical fiber sensors to structural members of small and big structures including Sung San Bridge are surveyed. For the Sung San Bridge, the responses of the fiber optic sensors by 30 ton weigh truck loads with various speeds ate measured. Monitoring system is also applied to the mock-up of bridges. The monitoring capability of the advanced fiber optic sensor system was confirmed.

Emergency Brushless Synchronous Generator Having Rotating Exciter Status Monitoring and Protection Functions

  • This paper presents an emergency brushless synchronous generator having rotating exciter status monitoring and protection functions. For monitoring the rotating exciter status, a wireless rotor status detector and a digital AVR(Automatic Voltage Regulator), which has a wireless communication capability, are proposed. The proposed rotor status detector detects temperatures of exciter armature and main field windings and input voltage and current of the main field. Therefore, it is possible to protect the generator from the over-temperature of windings and detect the exciter bridge diode fault. Furthermore, the proposed digital AVR has rotor status monitoring and protection function, and remote generator tuning, wireless group parallel operation function. So the operator can efficiently operate the generator using a smartphone from a remote area.

공급사 모니터링이 현장생산성에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (Study of the Effects of Supplier Monitoring on Shop floor Productivity)

  • 최근 구매사와 공급사 간의 정보 공유 및 협업 등의 아웃소싱 활동은 공급사슬관리에서 매우 중요한 전략으로 자리매김하고 있다. 아웃소싱은 경쟁우위 확보를 위해 필수적인 방안으로 활용되고 있으나, 계약이 체결된 이후에는 공급사에 대한 통제력이 저하된다. 이러한 상황에서는 공급사에 대한 모니터링을 통한 일상적인 통제만이 유일한 공식적 통제수단으로 남게 되며, 통제관리가 어떻게 이루어지느냐에 따라 기업성과에 영향을 미치게 된다. 본 연구에서는 아웃소싱 계약 체결 이후 공급사의 외주 구매성과와 구매사와 공급사 간의 운영통합 강화를 위한 전략을 제시하였다. 선행요인으로 공급사 모니터링을 고려하였으며, 공급사 모니터링 노력에 의한 외주 구매성과와 구매사와 공급사 간 운영통합을 강화하여 구매사의 현장생산성 향상으로 반영되는 연구 모형을 제시하였다. 연구결과에 따르면, 구매사의 역량 모니터링, 행위 모니터링, 결과 모니터링은 공급사의 외주 구매성과와 운영통합 강화에 유의미한 선행요인으로 나타났다. 또한, 공급사 모니터링은 공급사의 외주 구매성과와 공급사 운영통합을 완전매개로 하여 구매사의 현장생산성에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다. 행위 모니터링의 부정적인 효과가 특이한 점으로 나타났는데, 행위 모니터링이 공급사 운영통합에 음(-)의 효과는 공급사 운영통합이 공급사 현장생산성 향상에 미치는 정(+)의 효과를 상쇄시키기 때문에 매개효과가 나타나지 않은 것으로 추정되었다. 이를 통해 이론적, 실무적 시사점과 본 연구의 한계점, 향후 연구수행 방안 등이 제시되었다.

열화상 이미지 분석을 통한 배전 설비 공정능력지수 감지 시스템 개발 (Identifying Process Capability Index for Electricity Distribution System through Thermal Image Analysis)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to propose a system predicting whether an electricity distribution system is abnormal by analyzing the temperature of the deteriorated system. Traditional electricity distribution system abnormality diagnosis was mainly limited to post-inspection. This research presents a remote monitoring system for detecting thermal images of the deteriorated electricity distribution system efficiently hereby providing safe and efficient abnormal diagnosis to electricians. Methods: In this study, an object detection algorithm (YOLOv5) is performed using 16,866 thermal images of electricity distribution systems provided by KEPCO(Korea Electric Power Corporation). Abnormality/Normality of the extracted system images from the algorithm are classified via the limit temperature. Each classification model, Random Forest, Support Vector Machine, XGBOOST is performed to explore 463,053 temperature datasets. The process capability index is employed to indicate the quality of the electricity distribution system. Results: This research performs case study with transformers representing the electricity distribution systems. The case study shows the following states: accuracy 100%, precision 100%, recall 100%, F1-score 100%. Also the case study shows the process capability index of the transformers with the following states: steady state 99.47%, caution state 0.16%, and risk state 0.37%. Conclusion: The sum of caution and risk state is 0.53%, which is higher than the actual failure rate. Also most transformer abnormalities can be detected through this monitoring system.

  • This article describes the useful way to measure the torque and RPM of the geared motor. For this, we have made the planetary geared reduction motor including the torque sensor unit which consists of hall effects sensor and permanent magnet. Our monitoring system displays the sensing values (torque, rpm) and the calculated value (power) and it also has the network capability using the Bluetooth protocol. We will show that our solution is much more inexpensive and simple method to measure torque and rpm than before.

자기모니터링과 자기의식이 화장 태도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Self-Monitoring and Self-Consciousness to Cosmetic Attitude)

  • The purpose of this study is to find the levels of self-monitoring, self-consciousness and cosmetic attitude of female university students and to analyze the relationship between the levels of self-monitoring, self-consciousness and cosmetic attitude in an effort to strengthen external human beauty. The respondents were 264 university women attending a university Chung-Cheong Province in Korea. In this study, a questionnaire method was used. The questionnaire consisted of SMS(self-monitoring scale), the(self-consciousness scale), and a measurement of the cosmetic attitude. Earlier studies were used to create the measuring instruments with some adjustments for the purpose of this research. Factorial analysis, correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis were carried out with SPSS 18.0. The cosmetic attitude consisted of four factors, and those factors were related to self-monitoring and self-consciousness. The Four factors were happiness with change, manners to others, the instrument of change, and conformity. It was found that the cosmetic attitude reflected the personal internal mental states; hence, the cosmetic attitude was used as method to express the internal mind. Determining the correlations between self-monitoring, self-consciousness and the cosmetic attitude was useful in understanding the personal peculiarity of the cosmetic attitude. Moreover, in the cosmetic industry, it is likely meaningful to investigate the capability whether the variables of self-monitoring and self-consciousness can be applied in an effort to understand consumers' internal character.
