  • On-line monitoring system is important for high voltage vacuum circuit breakers (HVCBs) in operation condition assessment and fault diagnosis. A distributed multilayer system with client/server architecture is developed on rated voltage 10kV HVCB with spring operating mechanism. It can collect data when HVCB switches, calculate the necessary parameters, show the operation conditions and provide abundant information for fault diagnosis. Ensemble empirical mode decomposition (EEMD) is used to detect the singular point which is regarded as the contact moment. This method has been applied to on-line monitoring system successfully and its satisfactory effect has been proved through experiments. SVM and FCM are both effective methods for fault diagnosis. A combinative algorithm is designed to judge the faults of HVCB's operating mechanism. The system's precision and stability are confirmed by field tests.

  • Etching endpoint detection with plasma impedance monitoring (PIM) is demonstrated for small area dielectric layers inductive coupled plasma etching. The endpoint is determined by the impedance harmonic signals variation from the I-V monitoring system. Measuring plasma impedance has been examined as a relatively simple method of detecting variations in plasma and surface conditions without contamination at low cost. Cluster analysis algorithm is modified and applied to real-time endpoint detection for sensitivity enhancement in this work. For verification, the detected endpoint by PIM and real-time cluster analysis is compared with widely used optical emission spectroscopy (OES) signals. The proposed technique shows clear improvement of sensitivity with significant noise reduction when it is compared with OES signals. This technique is expected to be applied to various plasma monitoring applications including fault detections as well as end point detection.

  • This paper proposes a knowledge-based expert system. which is assembled into hardware organized with sensor module. AID converter, USB. data acquisition PC and software composed of monitoring and diagnosis module combined with a frame-based method using Sohre's chart and a rule-based method. Vibration signals using various sensors are acquired by AID converter. transferred into PC and processed to obtain a continuous monitoring of the machine status displayed into several plots. Through combining frame-base which covers wide vibration causes with rule-base which gives relatively specified diagnosis results, high accuracy of fault diagnosis can be guaranteed and knowledge base can be easily extended by adding new causes or symptoms. Some examples using experimental data show the good feasibility of the proposed algorithm for condition monitoring and diagnosis of industrial rotating machinery.

  • We describe a new approach to implement of trajectory control and track record of articulated manipulator based on monitoring simulator for smart factory. The learning control algorithm was applied in implementation real-time control to provide enhanced motion control performance for robotic manipulators. The proposed control scheme is simple in structure, fast in computation, and suitable for real-time control. Moreover, this scheme does not require any accurate dynamic modeling, or values of manipulator parameters and payload. Performance of the proposed controller is illustrated by simulation and experimental results for robot manipulator consisting of six joints at the joint space and Cartesian space.by monitoring simulator.

  • We present an orienteering problem with unknown stochastic reward(OPUSR) model for persistent monitoring tasks with unknown event probabilities at each point of interest. Prior studies on orienteering problem for persistent monitoring task assume that rewards and event probabilities are known as a prior. In this paper, we propose a stochastic reward model with unknown event statistics and a path re-planning algorithm based on Bayesian reward inference. Experiments demonstrate the efficiency of our method.

  • In this paper we present an electronic domain solution for chromatic dispersion (CD) monitoring algorithm based on the estimated time domain channel in electronic domain using channel estimation methods. The proposed scheme utilizes kurtosis as a CD measurement, directly computed from the estimated inter-symbol-interference (ISI) channel due to the CD distortion. Hence, the proposed scheme exhibits robust performance under OSNR variation, in contrast to the existing electronic domain approach based on minimum mean squared error (MMSE) fractionally-spaced equalizer taps [1]. The simulation results verify the CD monitoring ability of the proposed scheme.

  • In this study, we implemented the data quality monitoring algorithm which is the previous step for real-time Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) correction generation and compared Global Positioning System (GPS) and BeiDou System (BDS). Signal Quality Monitoring (SQM), Data QM, and Measurement QM (MQM) that are well known in Ground Based Augmentation System (GBAS) were used for quality monitoring. SQM and Carrier Acceleration Ramp Step Test (CARST) of MQM result were divided by satellite elevation angle and analyzed. The data which are judged as abnormal are removed and presented as Root Mean Square (RMS), standard deviation, average, maximum, and minimum value.

  • In today's age when telecommunications using satellite has become part of our daily lives, one has to be employ preventive measures to avert any possible danger, of which solar activity is the major cause. Coronal mass ejections (CMEs) heading towards the Earth can lead to disturbances in the Earth's magnetosphere, if their magnetic field is oriented southward. Monitoring of solar filaments in this case becomes very very crucial, as their eruption is associated with most of the CMEs. Monitoring of solar filaments in this case becomes very very crucial, as their eruption is associated with most of the CMEs. Also, filaments show activation up to a few hours prior to launch of a CME and thus can provide advance warning. In this study, we present an algorithm for the detection of solar filaments seen in the extreme ultraviolet (EUV) from Atmospheric Imaging Assembly (AIA) on board the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO). Various morphological operations are employed to identify and extract the filaments. These filaments are then tracked in order to determine their size and location continuously.

  • This paper proposes a new approximate analytical solution for highly nonlinear vibration of mechanical systems called Hamiltonian Approach (HA) that can be widely use for structural health monitoring systems. The complete procedure of the HA approach is studied, and the precise application of the presented approach is surveyed by two familiar nonlinear partial differential problems. The nonlinear frequency of the considered systems is obtained. The results of the HA are verified with the numerical solution using Runge-Kutta's [RK] algorithm. It is established the only one iteration of the HA leads us to the high accurateness of the solution.
