  • In this paper, we propose context-aware system for semiconductor equipment that acquires information from multiple sensors in indoor environment. This proposed system acquires information from acceleration, pressure, temperature and gas sensors then the acquired information send to server. The data transmitted to server generates an alarm via context-aware algorithm of unit event and multi event. From that result, high-quality real-time monitoring is possible because of the reduced unnecessary alarms, and the efficient management is possible because the surrounding information is recognized at once.

  • This paper describes a new developed 3.3KV/4MW class three-level Voltage Source Inverter(VSI), which is equipped with IIMS(Inverter Information Management System) based on the world wide web and with the Virtual operation simulator. The algorithm for motor control is the stator oriented Direct Torque Control(DTC), which works without speed sensor and gives the physically fastest dynamic response. The IIMS have the functions of operation monitoring and data managements. Virtual operation simulator can analyze and tune the system characteristics without main power. Now, this system is under the field test to verify the confidence.

  • In this paper, a new method for the online estimation of equivalent series resistances (ESR) of the DC-link capacitors in induction machine (IM) drive systems with a front-end diode rectifier is proposed, where the ESR estimation is conducted during the regenerative operating mode of the induction machine. In the first place, a regulated AC current component is injected into the q-axis current component of the induction machine, which induces the current and voltage ripple components in the DC-link. By processing these AC signals through digital filters, the ESR can be estimated by a recursive least squares (RLS) algorithm. To acquire the AC voltage across the ESR, the DC-link voltage needs to be measured at a double sampling frequency. In addition, the ESR current is simply reconstructed from the stator currents and switching states of the inverter. Experimental results have shown that the estimation error of the ESR is about 1.2%, which is quite acceptable for condition monitoring of the capacitor.

  • The study utilizes remote sensing as the main monitoring means. With different spatial high-resolution, multichannel ASTER remote sensing image as the main information in Beijing city zone; with regional border and statistical data as auxiliary factor a study between the thermal space distribution character and the underground medium is analyzed based on the GIS logical algorithm and synthetic analysis technology. Results show thermal forming mechanism and the rule of distribution is mainly related to the underground medium and the change of the city distribution. Different underground medium has different degree and intensity influence on the thermal space distribution. Furthermore, urban greenbelt and water areas can reduce the thermal effect and large-scale greenbelt creates green island effect. In addition, Road net, residential area, population density, heat resources and so on have some positive effect on the thermal distribution, which increase the local temperature and intensity on the other hand. It is important to study the thermal distribution and its related factors, which contributes to the plan, construction and development of the city.

  • Vehicle detection is the basic of traffic monitoring. Video based systems have several apparent advantages compared with other kinds of systems. However, In video based systems, shadows make troubles for vehicle detection. especially active shadows resulted from moving vehicles. In this paper a new method that combines background subtraction and edge detection is proposed for vehicle detection and shadow rejection. The method is effective and the correct rate of vehicle detection is higher than 98(%) in experiments, during which the passive shadows resulted from roadside buildings grew considerably. Based on the proposed vehicle detection method, vehicle tracking, counting, classification and speed estimation are achieved so that traffic information concerning traffic flow is obtained to describe the load of each lane.

  • Induction motors play an increasing importance in industrial manufacturing. Therefore, the state monitoring systems also have been considering as the key in dealing with their negative effect by absorbing faulty symptoms in motors. There are numerous proposed systems in literature, in which, several kinds of signals are utilized as the input. To solve the multiple faults problem of induction motors, like the proposed system, the vibration signals is good candidate. In this study, a new signal processing scheme was utilized, which transforms the time domain vibration signal into the spatial domain as an image. Then the spatial features of converted image then have been extracted by applying the dominant neighbourhood structure (DNS) algorithm. In addition, these feature vectors were evaluated to obtain the fruitful dimensions, which support to discriminate between states of motors. Because of reliability, the conventional one-against-all (OAA) multi-class support vector machines (MCSVM) have been utilized in the proposed system as classifier module. Even though examined in severity levels of signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), up to 15dB, the proposed system still reliable in term of two criteria: true positive (TF) and false positive (FP). Furthermore, it also offers better performance than five state-of-the-art systems.

  • The condition monitoring of rotating machinery such as turbines, pumps and compressors, determine what repairs are needed to avoid shutdown and disassembly of the machine in an industrial plant Many diagnosis methods have been developed for use when the machine is running at steady state, the stationary condition. But much information can be gained about a rotor's condition during non-stationary conditions such as run-up and run-down. Order tracking analysis is a powerful tool for analyzing the condition of a rotating machine when its speed changes over time. Powerful OTA using digital signal processing has some advantages(cheap hardware, the powerful methods, the accurate post processing) and also some disadvantages(calculation time, high speed sampling). New OTA tool based on the chirplet transform is similar to the short time Fourier transform. But, it has good resolution at high speed like other OTA methods based STFT and more resolution for constant frequency components than re-sampling OTA.

  • The proportional control solenoid valves as well as the PWM solenoid valves operated by electric signal play an important role in the hydraulic system for automatic transmissions to improve the shift quality. However it is not generally available for the performance data because most of the automotive parts manufacturer don't release the specific test results, especially dynamic performance that is essential to design a shift control algorithm. In this research, a performance test equipment that can be applied to various types of pressure control solenoid valve was developed. It was implemented by 8-bit micro-controller with many useful functions such as adjustable PWM carrier frequency, embedded function generator, current controller, data monitoring and acquisitions, etc. for the test of dynamic performance of solenoid valve as well as the steady-state pressure characteristics. The performance test results for the direct type proportional control solenoid valve show not only the validity of overall functions but also its usefulness as a hydraulic valve tester.

  • Monitoring large-scale civil engineering structures such as offshore platforms and high-large buildings requires a large number of sensors of different types. Innovative sensor data information technologies are very extremely important for data transmission, storage and retrieval of large volume sensor data generated from large sensor networks. How to obtain the optimal sensor set and placement is more and more concerned by researchers in vibration-based SHM. In this paper, a method of determining the sensor location which aims to extract the dynamic parameter effectively is presented. The method selects the number and place of sensor being installed on or in structure by through the tolerance domain statistical inference algorithm combined with second order sensitivity technology. The method proposal first finds and determines the sub-set sensors from the theoretic measure point derived from analytical model by the statistical tolerance domain procedure under the principle of modal effective independence. The second step is to judge whether the sorted out measured point set has sensitive to the dynamic change of structure by utilizing second order characteristic value sensitivity analysis. A 76-high-building benchmark mode and an offshore platform structure sensor optimal selection are demonstrated and result shows that the method is available and feasible.

  • In recent years, many investigations about photovoltaic power systems have been significantly carried out in the fields of renewable power energy. Such research area generally includes developments of highly efficient solar cells, advanced power conversion systems, and smart monitoring systems. A generic objective of fault detection and diagnosis techniques is to timely recognize unexpected faulty of dynamic systems so that economic demage occurred by such faulty is decreased by means of engineering techniques. This paper presents a novel fault detection approach for photovoltaic power arrays which are electrically connected in series and parallels. In the proposed fault detection scheme, we first measure all of photovoltaic modules located in each array by using electronic sense systems and then compare each measurement in turn to detect location of fault module through statistic computation algorithm. We accomplish real-time experiments to demonstrate our proposed fault detection methodology by using a test-bed system including two 20 watt photovoltaic modules.
