A Development of Simple Fuel Consumption Estimation and Optimized Route Recommendation System based on Voyage Data of Vessel (항차 데이터 기반 간이 연료 소모량 추정 및 최적 경유 항구 추천 시스템 개발)

  • Recently, The MRV (monitoring, reporting and verification) regulation, which measures, reports and verifies the emission gas of vessel to head for member countries of Europe Union (EU), is being implemented. As part this reason, we develop a system that estimates simple fuel consumption and recommends optimized stop-over ports of vessel, to calculate amount of carbon emission. To do this, we analyze fuel, distance and time consumption between port and the other port based on stored voyage data for over 10 years of real-ship, and implement a simple fuel consumption estimation module using analyzed result. Also, we design and implement the optimized route recommendation algorithm, existing navigation route display function including comparison with the optimized routes and user custom route plan function. Therefore, we expect the developed system is helpful when makes a navigation route and so on by reference indexes and we anticipate the system to have a sense for future research which learns and predicts for accuracy result.

  • In this study, deals with selection of monitoring objects to handle emergency cases of multi-modal transfer stations and information required for emergency surveillance, recognition, verification, propagation, processing and situation closing. Furthermore, this article suggests integrated management scheme for the above information and methods which offer appropriate information required for situation handling decisions at each stage of situation changes. The transfer station which consists of facilities, passengers, and transportations has limitations in required monitoring information. So, for the situation recognition and handling strategy, case-based reasoning of the expert system was used to apply experience, knowledge, and past cases of situation handling experts. The article also suggests methods to control facilities which are operated at transfer stations and these methods can minimize spatial confusions and damages at the emergency situation. The real time situation information will be shared by proper facility controls to support services from external institutions.

A Fuzzy Expert System Based on Hybrid Database for Fault Diagnosis of Industrial Turbomachinery (산업용 터보기기 결함 진단을 위한 복합적 데이터베이스 구조의 퍼지 전문가 시스템)

  • This paper suggests a fuzzy expert system for fault diagnosis of rotating machinery, based on modulated databases. In the proposed system, alarm and trip levels are set based on ISO, considering operating condition, machinery type and maintenance history. Input signals for diagnosis, such as sub-and super-harmonic components of vibration and mean value, are normalized from 0 to 1 under the threshold level and otherwise equal to one so that chronic faults slightly below the threshold level can be monitored. The database for diagnosis consists of two modules: the well-known Sohre's chart module and if-then type rules. The Sohre's chart is utilized for the most common problems of high-speed turbomachinery, while the rule-based module, which was collected from many papers and reports, is for diagnosing peculiar faults according to the type of machinery. To infer the results from two modules, a fuzzy operation of Yager sum was adopted. Using a simulator constructed in laboratory, experimental verification was performed for the cases of unbalance and resonance which were intended. The experimental results show that the proposed fuzzy expert system has feasibility in practical diagnosis of rotating machinery.

  • As the 4th industrial revolution based on ICT is progressing in the manufacturing field, interest in building smart factories that can be flexible and customized according to customer demand is increasing. To this end, it is necessary to maximize the efficiency of factory by performing an automated process in real time through a network communication between engineers and equipment to be able to link the established IT system. It is also necessary to collect and store real-time data from heterogeneous facilities and to analyze and visualize a vast amount of data to utilize necessary information. Therefore, in this study, four types of controllers such as PLC, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and embedded system, which are generally used to build a smart factory that can connect technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and big data, are configured. This study was conducted for the development of a program that can collect and store data in real time to visualize and manage information. For communication verification by controller, data communication was implemented and verified with the data log in the program, and 3D monitoring was implemented and verified to check the process status such as planned quantity for each controller, actual quantity, production progress, operation rate, and defect rate.

  • In this study, algorithm for the selecting the optimum monitoring location and leakage detection algorithm based on back tracing calculation method were developed and verified by the experiments in pilot plant of water distribution system. First of all, optimum monitoring locations were selected and pressure changes were measured due to artificial leakage by pressure gauges in pilot plant. Simulations of leakage detection was performed for the verification of back tracing calculation method as a leakage detection method. From the results, it was found that leakage locations and leakage amount were exactly estimated. Various leakage amount from $0.0005m^3/s$ to $0.0018m^3/s$ were reproduced and leakage location was detected by back tracing calculation method. It was verified that back tracing calculation method as a leakage detection method is effective.

Monitoring of a CFRP-Stiffened Panel Manufactured by VaRTM Using Fiber-Optic Sensors

  • FBG (Fiber Bragg Grating) sensors and optical fibers were embedded into CFRP dry preforms before resin impregnation in VaRTM (Vacuum-assisted Resin Transfer Molding). The embedding location was the interface between the skin and the stringer in a CFRP-stiffened panel. The reflection spectra of the FBG sensors monitored the strain and temperature changes during all the molding processes. The internal residual strains of the CFRP panel could be evaluated during both the curing time and the post-curing time. The temperature changes indicated the differences between the dry preform and the outside of the vacuum bagging. After the molding, four-point bending was applied to the panel for the verification of its structural integrity and the sensor capabilities. The optical fibers were then used for the newly-developed PPP-BOTDA (Pulse-PrePump Brillouin Optical Time Domain Analysis) system. The long-range distributed strain and temperature can be measured by this system, whose spatial resolution is 100 mm. The strain changes from the FBGs and the PPP-BOTDA agreed well with those from the conventional strain gages and FE analysis in the CFRP panel. Therefore, the fiber-optic sensors and its system were very effective for the evaluation of the VaRTM composite structures.

  • As for the battery package method, a prismatic package method is preferred for stability reasons, but it is rapidly expanding due to the stability verification of a pouch type package. The pouch type using the lamination process has an advantage of high battery energy density because it can reduce space waste, but has a disadvantage of low productivity. Therefore, in this paper, by extracting edge detection algorithm precision, pattern algorithm precision, and motion controller recall rate by improving backlight lighting fixtures to minimize light diffusion, securing standards for stereo camera position relationship displacement monitoring, and securing standards for lens release monitoring. We propose to implement a system that ensures accuracy and reliability in positioning. As a result of the experiment, the proposed system shows an average error range of 0.032mm for edge detection, 0.02mm for pattern algorithm, and 0.014mm for motion controller, thus ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the positioning mechanism.

Modeling and Evaluation on the Dispersion of Air Pollutants in the Large Scale Thermal Power Plant (대단위발전소의 대기오염물질 확산에 관한 모델링 및 평가에 관한 연구)

  • This paper presents the results from the comparison analysis and evaluation between the air pollutant dispersion modeling results and the observation data in the area within a 10 km radius from the Boryong thermal power plants. The observation data used in this study were the air pollutant concentrations which had been continuously measured from 8 locations around the Boryong power plants by TMS(tele-monitoring system) for 3 months from September to November, 1996. The short-term and long-term predictions were carried out using ISC3 model and LPDM(Lagrangian Panicle Dispersion Model). The results of ISC3 modeling in a short-term showed highly as 0.7 in a correlation coefficient, but in a long-term showed just 0.54. On the other hand, LPDM showed 0.78 in a correlation coefficient for a long-term, but in a short-term showed highly value than the observation concentrations.

실시간 객체지향 설계에서 슬라이싱 맵의 데이터베이스 구축 및 활용에 관한 연구

  • 실시간 시스템(realtime system)은 외부환경에서 보내진 요구사항(requirement)에 정해진 시간 내에 반응(action)해야만 한다. 시스템의 외부환경은 실세계(real world)의 물리 적인 요소(physical element)가 되며 이러한 물리적인 요소는 객체지향 설계 (object-oriented design) 개념에서 객체(object)이다. 또한 시스템을 설계하는 경우는 객체 지향 방법론을 적용함으로서 보다 명확한 표현이 가능하게 되며 실세계의 물리적인 각 요소 가 부품단위(component units)로 동작하는 형태를 소프트웨어로 설계하는 것이 용이하게 된다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 실시간 시스템설계에서 객체지향 방법을 사용하고, 원시 (source) 소프트웨어의 분석(analysis)과 검증(verification) 및 흐름(flow)를 슬라이스 기법을 사용하여 표현함으로써 시스템의 전체적인 구성을 명확하게 표현하며 클래스(class) 단위로 슬라이스 된 각 부분으로 상속(inheritance)과 메시지 전달(message sending)의 흐름을 파 악할 수가 있다. 그리고, 보다 효율적인 시스템의 외부환경의 오동작 처리 및 시스템 흐름 을 감시 추적(monitoring and tracing)할 수 있도록 슬라이싱 맵을 데이터베이스로 구축하 여 활용하는 방법을 제시한다. 또한 슬라이싱 맵 표현 방벙에 있어서 기존의 표현을 보다 구체적이고 실제적인 표현기호를 제시한다.
