In this paper, we adopted E-MOLD patent technology in order to fabricate Prismless LGP(Light Guide Panel) fur cellular phone and estimate the transcription of injection-molded parts. Then, we manufactured the Ni stamper fur Prismless LGP using MEMS process. And the stamper was installed in the movable heated core which is the key part of a patented mold. Using this mold, we manufactured injection-molded plastic LGP parts with different mold temperatures so that we investigate effect of the temperature on the transcription of the parts. The CAE analysis was also conducted in order to compare with the experimental results. The transcription of LGP parts with various mold temperature displayed $100^{\circ}C$(25.0nm), $140^{\circ}C$(48.4nm), $180^{\circ}C$(52.1nm) and when compared with stamper(521Inm), transcription was superior at $180^{\circ}C$. According to the CAE results, moldability was improved as mold temperature ($50^{\circ}C{\sim}180^{\circ}C$) increased, but when filling time($1{\sim}2sec$) increases, it decreased at $160^{\circ}C$. And transcription and moldability were improved markedly at glass transition temperature($140^{\circ}C$).

In the modern industrial period, the introduction of mass production was most important progress in civilization. Die-casting process is one of main methods for mass production in the modern industry. The aluminum die-casting in the mold filling process is very complicated where flow momentum is the high velocity of the liquid metal. Actually, it is almost impossible in complex parts exactly to figure the mold filling performance out with the experimental knowledge. The aluminum die-castings are important processes in the automotive industry to produce the lightweight automobile bodies. Due to this condition, the simulation is going to be more critical role in the design procedure. Simulation can give the best solution of a casting system and also enhance the casting quality. The cost and time savings of the casting layout design are the most advantage of Computer Aided Engineering (CAE). Generally, the relations of casting conditions such as injection system, gate system, and cooling system should be considered when designing the casting layout. Due to the various relative matters of the above conditions, product defects such as defect extent and location are significantly difference. In this research by using the simulation software (AnyCasting), CAE simulation was conducted with three layout designs to find out the best alternative for the casting layout design of an automotive Oil Pan_BJ3E. In order to apply the simulation results into the production die-casting mold, they were analyzed and compared carefully. Internal porosities which are caused by air entrapments during the filling process were predicted and also the results of three models were compared with the modifications of the gate system and overflows. Internal porosities which are occurred during the solidification process are predicted with the solidification analysis. And also the results of the modified gate system are compared.

The present work is investigated optimal design for the injection molding process of a hand brake cover. The viscoelastic flow through a hand brake cover shape in the mold were calculated and compared with the experimental data. Numerical analysis reasonably predicted the general performance i.e hold pressure, cooling time and hold pressure time. In order to determine optimal process parameters, Numerical analysis and experiments have been performed for various process conditions. In this study, we obtained to increase in the productivity by $160\%$ by optimal process conditions.
The optimum mold design and the optimum process condition were constructed upon executing process simulation of rubber injection molding with the commercial CAE program of MOLDFLOW(Ver. 5.2) in order to solve the process-problems of K company relating to air-traps and short-shots. The former occurs at the cavity edge of torque-rod-bush and the latter takes place for the injection molding of dynamic dampers. As a result the process problem relating to air traps was solved by optimizing edge-angle and the number of gates to prevent the flow congestion of flow-front and to make the flow-front movement unaffected by congestion. For dynamic dampers of K company the unmolded flaw caused by their unfilled cavity was corrected by installing the air-vent at the confronting locations of both upstream and downstream of flow-front where air traps frequently occur. Besides the unmolded flaws were rectified by altering the position of gate from the upper to the middle or by increasing the number of gates. Thus the process problems of K company relating to air-traps and short-shots of torque-rod-bush and dynamic dampers, respectively, were solved by proper altering of mold design with process simulation of rubber injection molding.
An integrated computer program consisting of a pre-processor, main solver, and post-processor was developed for the design of large steel castings. The pre-processor, based on the AutoCAD, enables the user to produce approval drawings, casting design drawings and mesh diagrams in sequence using a personal computer. In the main solver, two numerical models were employed; one models the fluid flow during mold filling, and the other models the heat transfer and solidification. The post-processor can be used to present simulation results such as flow pattern, mold filling sequences, solidification times, temperature gradients and location of shrinkage defects by color graphics. In order to validate the applicability of the present integrated program, a series of experiments on simple-shaped steel castings were carried out. After the validation of the present model, it was applied to the casting design of the large steel anchor of an SC42 alloy. Various solidification parameters such as a temperature distribution and a solidification time in the casting and the mold were compared with those obtained experimentally. Simulated results predicting shrinkage defects were in good agreement with those obtained experimentally. It was found that the present method can be successfully applied to the quantitative casting design for complex-shaped large steel castings.
Small injection molded articles such as lens and mobile product parts are usually molded in multi-cavity mold. The problem occurring in multi-cavity molding is flow unbalance among the cavities. The flow unbalance affects the dimensions and physical properties of molded articles. First of all, the origin of flow unbalance is geometrical unbalance of the delivery system. However, even the geometry of the delivery system is well balanced, cavity unbalance occurs. This comes from the temperature distributions in the cross-section of runner. Temperature distribution depends upon injection speed because heat generation near runner wall is high at high injection speed. Among the operational conditions, injection speed is the most significant process variable affecting the filling unbalances in multi-cavity injection molding. In this study, experimental study of flow unbalance has been conducted for various injection speeds and materials. Also, the filling unbalances were compared with CAE results. The dimensions and weights of multi-cavity molded parts were examined. The results showed that the filling unbalances vary according to the injection speeds and resins. Subsequently, the unbalanced filling and pressure distribution in the multi-cavity affect the dimensions and physical states of molded parts.

The cause of flow mark defect is known as non-uniform temperature of mold surface when the flow front meets the cold cavity. The exact definition and classification of Flow mark is not clear because the mechanism of flow mark is not figured out till now. Any injection molding analysis software can not predict the flow mark phenomena. To solve weldline and flow mark defects, the gate thickness is reduced to increase the melt front velocity and the melt front velocity of the flow mark area is increased from 82.3mm/s to 104.7mm/s. In addition, the bulk temperature of the flow mark area is increased from $178.3^{\circ}C$to $215.2^{\circ}C$ by adding a cold slug well. The flow mark phenomena can be greatly reduced by increasing the flow front velocity and elevating the bulk temperature.
Using computer simulation, the processibility and properties of the inst겨ment panel of automobile produced by gas injection molding were predicted and evaluated. The P-V-T data of ABS, resin were used in the gas injection molding process in order to estimate the mold filling phenomena. The optimum process conditions were found by adjusting the process parameters including pressure, filling time, the positions of gas channel and runner. The process was simplified and the final instrument panel produced by the gas injection molding was found to have improved dimension stability compared to the one produced by conventional injection molding.

Weld line in injection molded part is one of the defects in injection molding process. Weld line deteriorates not only appearance quality but mechanical property. In this study, ABS and PP were used as experimental materials. And weld line length, depth and strength have been examined according to the injection molding conditions. As the results of experimental studies, weld line length increased as flow rate increases for all materials. And the flow rate is most influenced to the creation of weld line length. Also weld line strength increased, as flow rate and melt temperature increase for all materials. The whole experiment results was similar to CAE analysis results.
