  • Recently, the conventional concept of a machine-tool in manufacturing systems is changing from the target of integration to the autonomous manufacturing device based on a knowledge evolution. Subsequently, a machine-tool has been the subject of a cooperation through an advanced environment where an open architecture controller, high speed network and internet technology are contained In the future, a machine-tool will be more improved in the form of a knowledge evolution based device. In order to develop the knowledge evolution based machine-tool, this paper proposes the structure of knowledge evolution and the scheme of a dialogue agent among agent-based modules such as a sensory module, a dialogue module, and an expert system. The dialogue agent has a role of interfacing with another machine for cooperation. To design of the dialogue agent module in M2M(Machine To Machine)environment, FIPA-OS and ping agent based on FIPA-OS are analyzed in this study. Through this, it is expected that the dialogue agent module can be more efficiently designed and the knowledge evolution based machine-tool can be hereafter more easily implemented.

  • For pneumatic system control, we need a data transmission system with high speed and high reliability or information interchange between main computer and solenoid valves and I/O devices. This paper presents a set of design techniques for a data communication system that is mainly used for pneumatic system control. For this purpose, we first designed hardware modules for an interface between central control module and local node that handles the operation of solenoid valves. In addition we developed a communication protocol for construction of RS-485 based multidrop network, and this protocol is basically designed with a kind of polling technique. Finally we evaluated performance of the developed system. The field test results show that, even under high noise environment, the data transmission of 375Kbps rate is possible up to 1,000m without using repeater. In addition, the system developed in this research is proved to be used easily for extension of a communication network because of its module structure.

  • Cleaning by injecting dry ice and water is a generally adopted trend these days to clean molds (injection, diecasting foundry, press, rubber mold, etc). This cleaning method is performed manually, or by installing multiple high pressure spray nozzles. We have manufactured a turbine cleaning module device that is able to clean diecasting modules at any position and angle in the space by mounting an articulated robot instead of the existing pipe type injection nozzle, to minimize lead time and enhance working yield of the cleaning process. In this paper, we analyzed process factors that are required to design the turbine module by reviewing number of revolution, and results according to different blade angles and thicknesses of the mold release injection turbine module, using computational fiuid dynamics (CFD).

  • The Digital Multimedia Broadcasting(DMB) system is developed to offer high quality audio-visual multimedia contents to the uses by the various portable terminals in the mobile environment. Integrated complex reception platform is required to receive multimedia broadcasting services transmitted from various transmission media. In this paper, we present the design and implementation technic for providing the both of terrestrial and satellite DMB services simultaneously using the same hardware platform. The implemented complex receiving terminal to accommodate these DMB services simultaneously need composed of it RF module. it baseband module, it complex control module and the complex de-multiplexer module. The complex control module is designed using uClinux operating system. The complex de-multiplexer, which perform the functions of the address decoder and each DMB stream de-multiplexer, is implemented. with FPGA device. The implemented platform is tested in a real environment and its performance is satisfied with required performance criteria.

심전도 및 수면시 체동 측정 모듈 장착을 위한 브래지어 프로토타입 개발 (A Development of Brassiere Prototype for Attaching the Measuring Module of ECG and Body Movement while Sleeping)

  • In this study, brassiere prototype was developed for attaching the measuring module of ECG measurement and body movement while sleeping. For ECG measurement, textile electrodes was made of stretch fabric containing polyurethane in consideration of elasticity of brassiere band. It was used as a conductive yarn by silver coating on the warp. The textile electrodes was woven with twisted twill to increase the density of conductive yarns. The pressure of the brassiere band was enough to sensing stably the ECG, and the elastic band of the brassiere was designed to be wider than 3cm to install the textile electrodes inside, so that textile electrodes was close fitting to the skin at a constant pressure without lifting. The textile electrodes coated with silicon on rear was attached to brassiere elastic band, and the module was installed with a snap connector to textile electrodes of brassiere band. The module was suitable to monitering ECG measurement of a typical R peak, pulse rate and body movement while sleeping without interfering.

S-대역 고효율 Pallet 전력증폭기 모듈 설계 (Design of an High Efficiency Pallet Power Amplifier Module)

  • This paper describes the design and fabrication of a high-efficiency GaN HEMT(Gallium Nitride High-electron Mobility Transistor) Pallet power amplifier module for S-band phased array radar applications. Pallet amplifier module has a series 2-cascaded power amplifier and the final amplification-stage consists of balanced GaN HEMT transistor. In order to achieve high efficiency characteristic of pallet power amplifier module, all amplifiers are designed to the switching-mode amplifier. We performed with various PRF(Pulse Repetition Frequency) of 1, 10, 100 and 1000Hz at a fixed pulse width of $100{\mu}s$. In the experimental results, the output power, gain, and drain efficiency(${\eta}_{total}$) of the Pallet power amplifier module are 300W, 33dB, and 51% at saturated output power of 2.9GHz, respectively.

타부탐색을 이용한 물류정보시스템의 선석계획 최적화 모듈 설계 (Optimized Module Design for Berth Planning of Logistics Information System Using Tabu Search Algorithm)

  • 항만 운영은 크게 게이트부문, 야드 부문, 선석 부문으로 구분되며, 이들 부문에 대한 운영전략과 효율적인 자원할당이 항만의 생산성향상에 중요한 역할을 한다. 특히, 선석 부문에서의 자원할당 계획은 선석 계획으로서 선박의 작업시간과 직결되기 때문에 최적화를 필요로 한다. 선석 계획은 독립적인 자원할당이 아니라 야드 부문의 장치 공간 할당과 상호 관련성을 가지고 있다. 따라서 기존 연구들이 선석 계획에 대해 독립적인 자원할당을 연구한 것과 달리 야드의 장치 공간 할당과 상호 관련성에 중점을 두고 선석 계획의 최적화 모듈을 설계하였다. 선석 계획 최적화 모듈의 설계는 수리적 기법으로 표현된 기존의 제약조건에 야드의 장치공간 할당과 관련된 제약조건을 제안하여, 해를 탐색하고, 찾은 해를 최적화하는데, 타부탐색을 사용하여 선석 계획 최적화 모듈을 설계하였다. 그리고 선석 계획 최적화 모듈의 성능 실험에서는 야드의 장치공간 할당계획을 적용한 선석 계획이 그렇지 않은 경우에 비해 작업시간이 단축됨을 알 수 있었다.

사용자 인터페이스 디자인을 위한 사용성평가 비디오정보 분석방법 개발에 관한 연구 (Development of a video-protocol analysis system for the user interface design.)

  • 최근의 전자와 반도체기술의 발달에 따른 지능형 제품의 등장은 인터페이스 디자인의 중요성을 더욱더 증대시키게 되었다. 이러한 상황에서 사용자의 실제 제품 사용을 비디오로 기록하고 이를 분석하는 방법에 대한 연구가 많이 이루어지고 있다. 사용자에 대한 실제 제품 사용상에서의 분석과 이러한 다양한 측면간의 상호관계에 대한 분석이 가능한 방법에 대한 연구가 이루어져야 할 것이다. 이에 본 연구는 사용 성 평가에서의 비디오 정보 분석 방법개발의 일환으로 컴퓨터를 활용한 비디오 정보 분석방법을 제안한다. 본 연구는 우선 사용자 인터페이스의 다양한 측면을 살펴봄으로써 사용자 인터페이스의 본질을 이해하고, 이를 바탕으로 제품의 실제적 사용에서 나타나는 사용자들의 제품 사용행위의 특성을 분석할 수 있는 방법의 구조를 설정한다. 이어서 이 구조를 근거로 하여 사용 성 실험의 비디오 정보를 분석할 수 있는 컴퓨터 분석도구를 개발하였다. 이는 사용 성 평가 직전에 이루어진 설문을 통한 사용자 정보를 조사하는 모듈, 사용자의 실제 제품 사용 비디오 정보를 통한 정보추출 모듈, 이를 토대로 한 사용자 특성파악 모듈, 마지막으로 제품의 인터페이스 개선 안을 제안하는 모듈 등으로 나뉘어 구성되었다. 끝으로 본 연구의 한계를 지적하고 이의 향후 연구방향을 제시하였다.

흐름 영각에 따른 강제공랭 모듈 주위의 열전달 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Heat Transfer Characteristics Around a Surface-Mounted Air-Cooled Module for the Flow Angle-of-Attack)

  • An experimental study was performed to investigate adiabatic wall temperature and heat transfer coefficient around a module cooled by forced air flow. The flow angle of attack to the module were 0$^{\circ}$and 45$^{\circ}$. In the first method, inlet air flow(1~7m/s) and input power.(3, 5, 7W) were varied after a heated module was placed on an adiabatic floor(320$\times$550$\times$1㎣). An adiabatic wall temperature was determinated to use liquid crystal film. In the second method to determinate heat transfer coefficient, inlet air flow(1~7m/s) and the heat flux of rubber heater(0.031~0.062W/$m^2$) were varied after an adiabatic module was placed on rubber heater covering up an adiabatic floor. Additional information is visualized by an oil-film method of the surface flow on the floor and the module. Plots of $T_{ad}$ and $h_{ad}$ show marked effects of flow development from the module and dispersion of thermal wake near the module. Certain key features of the data set obtained by this investigation may serve as a benchmark for thermal-design codes based on CFD.

비정형 환경에 적용하기 위한 뱀 로봇 개발 (Development of a Snake Robot for Unstructured Environment)

  • This paper shows the development of a snake robot (KAEROT-snake V) which consists of 16 1-DOF actuator modules and head module. The modules are connected serially and the joint axis of each module is rotated by $90^{\circ}$ with respect to the previous joint so that the snake robot can move in the 3D space. A tail actuator module includes slip-ring and metal connector. KAEROT-snake IV developed in prior research could move in the 3D space and climb up in a narrow pipe. But its design was not appropriate to the unstructured tough environment and its speed was somewhat slow. A new actuator module is designed to enclose all parts of the module so that any wire is not exposed. The size and weight of the new module was slightly reduced. And the rotation speed and torque of the joint was increased by about twice when compared with pre-module. An embedded controller was developed so small that it can be mounted inside the module. The performance of the developed robot was demonstrated through various locomotion experiments.
