Lately, neo-Chinese style furniture has been frequently noticed by product design professionals for the big part it played in promoting traditional Chinese culture. This article is an attempt to use big data semantic analysis method to provide effective design research method for neo-Chinese furniture design. By using big data mining program TEXTOM for big data collection and analysis, the data obtained from typical websites in a set time period will be sorted and analyzed. On the basis of "neo-Chinese furniture" samples, key data will be compared, classification analysis of overall data, and horizontal analysis of typical data will be performed by the methods of word frequency analysis, connection centrality analysis, and TF-IDF analysis. And we tried to summarize according to the related views and theories of the design. The research results show that the results of data analysis are close to the relevant definitions of design. The core high-frequency vocabulary obtained under data analysis, such as popular, furniture, modern, etc., can provide a reasonable and effective focus of attention for the designs. The result obtained through the systematic sorting and summary of the data can be a reliable guidance in the direction of our design. This research attempted to introduce related big data mining semantic analysis methods into the product design industry, to supply scientific and objective data and channels for studies on design, and to provide a case on the practical application of big data analysis in the industry.

Postmodernism, the theory and philosophy that swayed the world in the late 20th century, can be interpreted in various ways as a critical reaction against modernism as well as, in one way, the logical extension of modernism itself. Thus, an extensive understanding of the social and temporal background of the birth of postmodernism and a macroscopic and correlative approach toward the related artistic circles, especially art, were carried out before a formative discussion on the furniture design of postmodernism. Postmodemism in the field of furniture design shares the history of birth and spirit with Memphis, the progressive design group established by Ettore Sottsass in Milan, 1980. This study identifies the formative features of pestrnodernistic furniture design around those works that express the trend of postmodernism, in particular, chairs, as well as the designers who participated in the first Memphis exhibition at the Milan Furniture Fair. By identifying such features, the correlation between postmodemism and those features expressed in the works of postmodernism paintings were examined. The works of Anselm Kiefer, a German nee-expressionist who became famous through the Venice Biennale 1980, and five young Italian trans-avant garde authors were selected as the scope of this case study. The characteristics of postmodernism in modern art were analyzed in terms of themes, shape, and content and were derived as follows; Firstly, borrowed and past-oriented themes, secondly, deconstructive, atypical, plural, emotional, and intuitional shapes, and thirdly, basic, metaphorical, and abstract content, The formative characteristics of chair design in postmodemism furniture design are as follows; Firstly, deconstructive, symbolic, and abstract shapes, past-oriented, reactionary, and primitive colors and closing, as well as the characteristic of delivering commercial and metaphorical messages. The subjects and motives of art have been succeeded by the characteristics of color and closing in furniture, the shape and techniques of fine arts by the characteristics of furniture shape, and the content of art by that of furniture. They share key words and characteristics.

The history repeatedly shows that designers have sought their creative inspiration from fine arts. was also influenced by contemporary art such as surrealism or installment works. This thesis aims to examine the inter-relationship between contemporary art and contemporary furniture design with examples of organic modernism and minimalism furniture design. Also, will be analyzed in light of such interdisciplinary relationship, explaining the significances of in scholastic perspective. The previous research analysis of finding out examples of how fine art and design sought mutual exchanges to develop will help to examine the significance of in the context of art history. This analysis could be used as an important academic material to understand the origin and characteristics of modern design furniture. The features of surrealism and minimalism will be discussed in light of their influences on and interactive relationship with organic modernism furniture design. This provides important basic material to further analyze . Furthermore, the artistic language and plastic features of contemporary sculptors and installment artists such as Jean Arp, Richard Serra and Anish Kapoor will be examined to show how integrated and combined main features of those artists. extracted cognitive and phenomenological aspects from Serra's works that overwhelm viewers with their massive scales. Somewhat abstract yet somewhat primitive and dynamic features of Arp's works was also referred to . are made of FRP, composed of three partitions and six stools. This work was analyzed in aspect of form, composition and function. They have organic and flexible formations with free composition availability which endow free disassemble and arrangement. Also, they have cognitive features as of small elements are freely dispersed upon spaces to bestow certain presences. Based on this, this thesis could develop scholastic researches that examine the mutual and interactive relationship between contemporary art and furniture design with much more detailed discussions and examples.

This study analyzes the Western rocking chair style of the middle of the 20th century (1945~1970), and investigates academically characteristics from formative and practical points of view. The purpose of this study is to provide basic information on the design and production of the modern Korean rocking chair. In the 20th century, the production of the Western rocking chair displayed principles of both functionalism and optimism. These rocking chairs are constructed of various industrial materials including reinforced plastics, moulded plywood, aluminium, and steel as well as wood. Furthermore, a rocking chair suitable to the human body is made by industrial growth and innovative fabrication techniques such as designer's plastic from military in the First and Second World Wars. In those days, there are many different types of rocker style - traditional, plastics, structural, moulded plywood & bending, metal tubular, and wire mesh. More specifically, through economic prosperity and plastic development, the rocking chair is able to have light and bright colors, which shows sensible formality of the modern and structure.

Today's restaurant is the space not just for eating, but enjoying the mood, communication space for social life, and leading trend. Therefore interior design is concerned with one of the most important role for creating unique atmosphere of restaurants. This study is aimed to analyze how to interior design elements affect the improvement of New York hip restaurant reputation, focusing on the importance of the establishment of unique trend. Through the case studies of New York hip restaurants, it is suggested that interior design is composed to not only significant different element, but also common design concept. It is mainly divided by 5 categories which is the Fusion mixed with eastern culture throughout the vision of the western, the New Baroque redefined tradition and modern thought, the Modern Classic created by importance of concise style and beauty of material, the High Concept used with new materials and technologies, and the Naturalism focused on spirit from nature and eco. Recently New York hip restaurant through the corporation work with star chef and star designer is developed to provide the enjoyable and anticipated spaces with strong theme and entertainments.

Danish Modern has been recognized as simple and comfortable design movement that was matched with its unique regional environment. There are various internationally well known designers such as Arne Jacobsen, Verner Panton. Danish Modern movement and International style had vital role to activate these designers' ideas and design quality. This paper aims to study the background and design characteristics of Danish Modern movement as well as some of the spatial projects by Arne Jacobsen. Furniture design of Jacobsen were already throughly studied in various researches. However his spatial projects such as architectural buildings and interior designs were not. This study analyzes three major architectural projects based on the four characteristics of Danish Modern: Formal Simplicity, Simple Functionality, Regional Contextuality, Reasonable Amusement. After the case study, this study discovered that Danish Modern characteristics had unique roles in the design process of Jacobsen's projects. Danish Modern is still valid design philosophy that can be applied to contemporary society.

The works of Alessandro Mendini doing a big role in Italian design give us fresh impetus and the message on future design. His work activity has created new space and given the second life with arranging radical and fresh visual ornaments by using various materials. His design works have been challenged on fixed and ordinary thought. He applies gorgeous and plain natural colors. When he develops idea into the form, his works hold meditation and clear subjectivity. Alessandro Mendini makes us aware that his work of arts connects human spirit with thing.

Korea and China have had close relations not only geographically but also ideally and culturally throughout history. Regarding their lifestyles on housing patterns, however, Koreans had a sedentary way of life, usually sitting on the floor while Chinese had a standing lifestyle, sitting on a chair. This paper tries to have a comparative analysis on similarities and distinctions of two countries' traditional furniture that had complied with each lifestyle. This paper also aims to explore the similarities and distinctions of the form and function of the traditional furniture of the two countries and then to put results of this paper in design and plan of modern furniture and housing in our times. The study can be summarized as follows. Even if, cultural and historical relationships of two countries, there is a different of traditional furniture's forms and types. The major differences are as following : Korean furniture is predominantly on the floor level with storing furniture while Chinese one is intermixed with seat-level and floor level styles. These characters seem to be derived from their own housing and life style. In Ming and Qing period China, Their developed in which intermediate people and building. But, in Korea their housing style had floating floor against wet earth, which finished woods, Ondol. Because of these finishing, the Korean traditional furniture was developed into a good form and a suitable dimension for moving. These differences in furnishing style seemed to well reflect building and housing style of each country. And Image map and positioning map can show the differences in a whole aspect.

고양이에 대한 사회 인식의 변화는 독립적인 삶을 살아가는 현대인의 라이프스타일과 맞아 반려묘 관련 소비시장은 지속적으로 상승할 것으로 보인다. 반려인들에게 반려동물은 단순한 애완의 목적이 아닌 함께 정서를 교감하며 가족처럼 삶의 전반에 걸쳐 함께 삶을 살아가는 존재가 되어가고 있다. 그러나 반려동물산업의 꾸준한 성장률과 고양이 사육 가구의 수가 급증하고 있음에도 불구하고 이들의 행동과 이해를 바탕으로 한 산업 관련 제품에 대한 연구가 부족하다. 이러한 이유로 본 연구는 고양이의 행동특성을 고려한 가변형 가구디자인을 제안하는데 그 목적이 있다. 가변형 가구는 주거공간의 환경과 변화에 밀접하며, 가구의 재배치를 통해 공간의 변화를 가져온다. 이러한 가변형 디자인 가구는 다기능성 및 가변성의 복합적 특징을 가지고 있어 가구의 기능을 효율적으로 높일 수 있어 반려묘 가구에 적합하다. 본 연구는 디자인 개발 논문으로 반려동물과 반려인에게 보다 나은 환경을 만들 수 있는 디자인 시장의 기초연구가 될 것을 기대하며 연구를 마치고자 한다.

가구분야는 인간과 밀접한 제품으로 많은 발전을 해왔지만, 근대화 이후 전통가구는 거의 자취를 감추었다. 이는 생활양식이 바뀌었다기보다 편의와 형태를 추구한 서양식 가구의 다양성을 중시했기 때문이다. 그러나 이러한 다양성은 한계에 도달했으며 가구뿐만 아니라 디자인분야 전반에 걸쳐 한 단계 나아갈 새로운 역할의 필요성이 대두되었으며, 이를 위한 문제해결방법으로 건축을 비롯한 디자인전반에서 동양의 정신계에 근거를 두고 있는 유심적 가치가 제시되었다. 이는 사라졌던 전통가구가 내포한 유심성에 주목하려는 것이며, 보다 자연적이고 인간과 친숙한 전통가구의 감성적이고 심리적인 영향이 가치를 인정 받은 것이라 할 수 있다. 전통가구가 오랜 시간을 사용되었던 것은 가구가 갖는 기능성보다 주변공간과 유기적으로 연계하는 유심적 성향을 지니고 있기 때문이다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 조선시대 한옥에서 사용된 전통가구를 중심으로 기본적 기능 이외의 역할을 귀납적으로 분석하여 사용자에게 나타난 추가적인 효과를 규명하고자 하였다. 이러한 유심적 역할은 사용자에게 기능 이외의 역할을 제공하고, 가구의 공간지배가 가능하게 하였다. 이러한 역할의 근거로 전통가구가 유물적 관점에서는 추출할 수 없는 사용성 확장, 공간변이, 공간형성과 이동, 위계형성에서 나아가 사용자와 상호작용이 가능한 단계에 이르는 많은 역할을 해왔음을 규명하였다. 이를 통해 전통가구의 유심적 역할이 적용된 현대 공간에서 나타날 기대효과와 가능성의 사례를 통해 지속 가능한 디자인은 물론 상호작용이 가능한 가구의 발전방향을 제시하였다.
