the present thesis aims to contribute to the further development of the men's wear indus-try in Korea which now confronts the need to adjust itself more actively to the conditions of the coming age of internationalization and free trade. To achieve this this thesis suggests the trade should provide for the changing domestic needs on theone hand and refine its wares as high value-added products in compe-tition with those from the advanced countries in fashion industry on the other, The history of the 'suit' the standard men's attire dates back to 1850 when the 'Ditto suit' was introduced composed of coat waist coat vest and trousers to remain virtually unchanged till the end of the nineteenth cen-tury and the modern men's wear originated in Britain. In Korea since the introduction of western clothes from 1876 custom-made suits had been dominant until 1944 while western clothes earned popular currency between 1945 and 1964 and ready-made suits began to spread with their advantages recognized in terms of practicality convenience and functionality The next phase from 1965 to 1985 witnessed the establishment of a number of ready-made brands although custom-made suits stayed in their height of prosperity until 1975. The turn-ing point for the men's wear industry came in 1975 when high-calss ready-made brands be-gan to turn up with the arrival of large companies in the market matching the change in consumers' life style. The men's wear market went through further diversification and specialization dur-ing the years between 1985. and 1990. Around the year 1990 however the expansion of the business suit industry came to slow down ac-companied by an oversupplied market. The fashion of pragmatism in the 1990s called for the growth of the casual wear department and as consumers' life style became more and more individualized conscious dressing in accord ance with T.P.O established itself as an important branch of culture, Such casual boom is likely to aid in promoting Korea's men's wear indus-try to peer with that of advanced countries. Consumers' fashion sense is now ahead of the trade's as well as being shortcycled highly individualized stylized and diversified. To meet consumers' demands under such circum-stances each company is required to develop its unique soft Know How based on accurate information and strategically specialized plan-ning. The trade should convert its hithero producer-oriented strategy to a new consumer oriented one and actively lead the needs and purchasin g pattern of consumers by providing an efficient and reasonable price policy with optimum supply of merchandise and also by presenting 'our' trend suited to our circum-stances.

Cinema costume can stimulate the public to synchronize with and replicate what they see in the movies. Especially when the public thinks the stars in the movies . Especially when the public thinks the stars in the movies are beautiful or dramatic the styles of cinema costumes powerfully affect them. Thus cinema costume designers quickey become fashion designers. Edith Head who strongly believed cinema costumes to be an effective means of portraying the Character's personality and psychological make-up was an innovative designer whose costumes manifested this belief. She enhanced the character's individual image and distinction for the public through her artistic design in costumes. She adapted a realistic approach but her costumes invariably produced aesthetic ef-fects. Since the Academy Awards added the category of costume design she led the field with 35 nominations and eight oscars during 33 years of her productive work. Edith head was a dominant figure in costume design; her creations were highly renowned as an art form while they gained popularity. The purpose of this study was to reveal the ef-fects of Edith Head's cinema costume designs on fashion. This study was also to emphasize the powerful influence on ashion of cinema costume and cinema costume designers in general. The study was done through literature movies for which she created costumes fashion magazines and Edith Head's original sketches. The influence of Edith Head's costume de-sign on fashion is as follows: 1. She introduced and lead the casual fashion in the 1950's combining simplicity and sophistication. 2. She altered uniforms and reconstructed public clothing for multiple functions. 3. She rearranged high school prom dresses through the movie 'A Place in the Sun" to en-hance characteristic of each gender and the Dandy Look of the 1930's into men's apparel in the 1970's through the movie "The Sting" 4. She expanded the traditional style in the 1940's and became a leader in ecological style. 5. She adapted glitter from astronaut's ap-parel into public clothing. 6. She resturctured Sabrina Pants in the 1960's to accentuate the individuals strength by overcoming one's weakness without minimi-zing it's aesthetic appeal and reintroduced the pants in the 1990's. 7. She introduced elegant negligees to gen-eral public and maintained it in the public do-main. As it is revealed Edith Head's costume de-sign not only impacted the field of fashion dur-ing her time but also is presently influencing modern fashion throughout the world as it is witnessed by repeated reintroduction of her fashion styles. Reviewing her cinema costumes it is concluded that cinema costumes it is concluded that cinema costumes powerfully af-fect the public through a visual channel more than any other routes. Cinema costumes can become the origin of fashion by stimulating the public to synchronize with and replicate what they see in the movies. Since cinema costumes can launch fashion trend it requires further research. Based on what is revealed in this study. it would be beneficial to examine how cinema costumes affect people socially and culturally and how they could provide resources for re-search in fashion trends. It is also the writers opinion that there should be more designers such as Edith head who could lead the field of costume design into the twenty-first century.

현대 사회의 디자인 영역에 있어 타이포그래피는 정보전달과 심미적 기능을 제공하는 차원에서 대단히 중요하며, 특히 오디언스(audience)로 하여금 보다 쉽고 빠르게 이해할 수 있는 가독성 향상에 초점을 맞추고 있다. 그러나 타이포그래피에 관한 선행연구를 분석해 보면 키네틱 타이포그래피(Kinetic Typography)를 중심으로 한 트렌드, 타이포그래피의 해체와 영역 확장, 그리고 조형 예술적 관점에서 분석한 타이포그래피 등으로서 실무차원에서 절실히 요구되는 표현 전략과 타이포그래피의 이론에 근거한 연구는 부족하다. 따라서 본 연구는 타이포그래피의 체계적 이론을 활용하여 그래픽디자인의 효용성 증대를 위한 가이드라인을 제시하고자 하였다. 본 연구를 위해 그래픽디자인 영역에서 세계적으로 인정받고 있는 Creative 38 Annual Awards 등, 2008년과 2009년에 게재된 최근의 작품을 중심으로 타이포그래피의 이론과 접목되는 작품을 연구사례로 선정하여 제시하였다. 또한 타이포그래피를 활용한 그래픽디자인의 표현 전략을 높이기 위한 효용성 증대 방안을 제안하여, 디자이너가 여러 가지 작업을 실행하는데 있어 실질적인 도움을 주고자 하였다. 본 연구는 실무차원에서 그래픽 디자이너들에게 타이포그래피에 관한 체계적 활용 방법을 통하여, 오디언스에게 시각적 감동을 줄 수 있는 창의적인 디자인 발전에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

최고의 대중예술로 보다 더 확고히 자리 잡은 영화 콘텐츠는 지구촌 사회의 문화에 가장 보편적인 내용과 공감대를 바탕으로 트렌드를 반영하는 메인 엔터테인먼트 콘텐츠이다. 그러나 현대영화는 오락성과 자극적 감성에 어필하는 대중의 기호에 보다 민감하기 때문에 예술적 표현의 감상을 통한 지적 쾌감의 기회의 감소는 불가피하며 아쉬울 수밖에 없다. 본 논문에서는 영화 속 쇼트들의 상징적 의미를 분석하여 그 외형 속에 투영된 내면의 본질을 파악케 하며 궁극적으로 표현된 주제 메시지를 도출해내고자 한다. 효과적인 상징 법은 정서를 드러내어 분위기와 무드를 조성하며 인물의 내적 심리 상태 및 의지 등을 잘 표현하면서 깊이 있는 관객과의 소통을 가능케 한다. 이처럼 표면적 이미지의 이면에 존재한 의미를 관객들에게 무의식적으로 전달함으로써 자신이 의도한 메시지를 보다 효과적이고 강하게 전달할 수가 있다. 또한 이를 통해 관객 기대 감성 구도에서 어떤 연상 작용 혹은 아이러니와 이미지의 충돌을 통한 화면 내의 대비 에너지 상승 등의 효과창출도 기대할 수 있다.

본 논문은 슈피리어호 남부에 분포하는 선캠브리아기의 염기성 암맥들에 대하여 마그마의 기원과 그들이 생성될 당시의 지구조적인 환경을 알기 위하여 암석 및 지화학적인 연구가 행하여 졌다. 46개의 시료에 대한 주성분, 미량원소 및 희토류 원소들에 대한 화학분석이 이루어졌다. 이들의 화학성분은 전형적인 콘티넨탈 쏠레아이트 (contiental tholeiite)의 성격을 띄우며, 다소 철성분이 부화된 분화경향을 나타낸다. 부동원소 (immobile element)들을 이용한 tectonic discrimination diagram 에 의하면 모 마그마는 현재의 T-type MORB와 유사한 Ti의 함량이 많은 쏠레아이틱(tholeiitic)현무암으로 사료된다. 분화가 진행될수록 암석의 화학적 성질은 지각과의 동화작용(crustral asimilation)에 의해 많은 영향을 받는 것으로 나타난다. 분화가 많이 진행된 암석들은 Rb, K, Ba, Th 과 같은 LIL원소의 증가를 보인 반면에 Nb, P, Ti과 같은 HFS 원소들은 그들과 물리, 화학적 성질이 비슷한 이웃한 원소들보다 현저한 감소를 나타내었다. 이러한 특징은 마그마의 기원에서 유래된 것 뿐만 아니라 지각과의 동화작용이 병행함으로 기인되었다고 사료된다. 이 암석들의 지화학적 특성을 살펴보면 지각의 섭입과 관련되어(subduction related)생성된 암석의 화학성분과는 현저한 차이를 나타내며, 판(板)내에서 생성된 현무암(Within plate basalt)과 해양지각에서 형성된 현무암 (MORB)에서 보이는 특성을 나타낸다. 이러한 지화학적인 특성을 살펴볼 때 이 암석들은 rifting과 같은 extensional tectonic 환경에서 생성된 것으로 사료된다.

Cocoon production, which is a representative of traditional sericulture shifted into silkworm powder production in the spring of 1995. This, infect, signifies the change from the dress-centered textile business to the bio-industry and the functional resource industry. One of the most outstanding shifting is utilization of silkworm larvae for anti-diabetic agent. In Asian countries including Korea, silkworm powder derived from the domestic silkworm (Bombyx mori L.) has long been favored for anti-diabetic agent, but its efficacy was not tested until last decade by modern scientific methods. In this article, we reviewed the major researches on the silkworm powder as a blood glucose-lowering substance. After the beginning test of the efficacy of silkworm powder by a cooperative research between Department of Sericulture and Entomlogy, NIAST, RDA and Kyung Hee University, substantial data have been accumulated so far, In a serial experiment to select best condition, the fifth instar larvae prepared by freeze dry method turned out to have the best blood glucose-lowering effect. In the pharmacological experiment to understand the mechanism of silkworm powder in small intestine, the silkworm powder turned out to inhibit the activity of ${\alpha}$-glucosidase, by competitively binding to $\alpha$-type disaccharides. The animal experiment showed that the extract of silkworm powder prevents a rapid increase of blood glucose level after meal and prevents hunger and law blood glucose level during empty stomach. In the experiment to isolate the major component of silkworm powder, which exerts blood glucose-lowering effect, 1-deoxynojirimy-cin (DNJ) was eventually mass-purified, and it turned out that DNJ isolated from silkworm powder was excellent in its blood glucose-lowering effect. In the experiment to understand the personal difference of the efficacy of the silkworm powder, clinical candidates were divided on the basis of the criterion of traditional Chinese medicine: Tae-Yang, Tae-Um, So-yang, and So-Um. The result showed that silkworm powder has a tendency to reduce blood glucose level at fasting and at 2 hours after meal, and this trend was somewhat obvious in the Tae-Um body type. In summary, we reviewed scientific papers on the efficacy of silkworm powder and its purified DNJ as a blood glucose-lowering agent. These suggest that silkworm powder truly possesses blood glucose-lowering effect as documented in the traditional Chinese medicine, although further researches will be required to develop them as "medical" resource instead of functional food.

심장과 신장의 경우 현대의학에서 이식이 중요한 치료방법으로 자리잡고 있으며 그 적응증이 확대되고 있다. 그러나 만성신부전은 심장이식의 금기였으며, 심부전도 신장이식의 금기로 심장과 신장의 동시이식이 이루어지는 경우는 흔치 않았다. 하지만 심부전과 신부전에 대한 치료의 발달로 심장-신장 동시이식의 필요성은 증가하고 있으며 동시에 면역학의 발달과 수술 기술 등의 발달로 그 가능성은 높아지고 있다. 우리나라에서는 지난 1969년과 1992년에 신장이식과 심장이식이 각각 성공하였으나 그동안 동시이식은 없었다. 본 증례는 분만 후 발생한 심근병증으로 심부전이 발생하고 이로 인한 신부전으로 투석을 받던 33세의 여자환자에 대해 본원에서 1년 전 시행한 '심장-신장 동시이식'에 대한 보고이다. 현재 환자는 정상 심장기능에 투석 없이 건강하게 생활하고 있으며 이에 그 결과를 문헌 고찰과 더불어 증례 보고하는 바이다.

The artworks of Socialist Realism of the former Soviet Union, with the beginning of the 21st century, are gaining a new attention from art collectors. One reason for this might consist in the fact that relevant art pieces exemplify the ways in which they visualize ideas on the basis of their high-profile art tradition and also in which they integrate their utopian ideals with mysticism. These aspects of the Soviet art goes far beyond the wide-spread assumption that their art, as a means of propaganda, principally represents a political allegiance to the system. With Stalin coming into power in the 1930s, the artistic trend of Socialist Realism obtained a nationwide sympathy and support from people, giving birth to a new art which essentially corresponded to the demands of the political power. An official art current of the USSR over the period from the 1930s to 1950s, Socialist Realism was in tandem with the Communist commitment to the party and popularity, symbolizing a loyalty to the cause. It was thus characterized by plainness and lucidity so that ordinary people could gain easy access to art. Its salient feature, over an entire range of art, was an optimistic pursuit of a utopian dream. Therefore, it tallied with the popular sentiment for a Communist paradise, giving form to their beliefs in human agency working at the materialist world and also to such abstract concepts as force, fitness, and beauty by adding even mythical ideals. Its main subject matter includes harvest feasts of collective farms, imaginary socialist cities, grand marches of heroic laborers and in this way it served as a propaganda for a sacred utopia of socialist totalitarianism. On the other end of the spectrum, however, rose the second camp of art, which put an emphasis on bona-fide artistic activities of plastic art and on an artist's personal expression and freedom, as opposed to the surface optimism of Socialist Realism. Central to the Russian Avant Garde art, which prized the above-mentioned values, were Malevich's Geometric Abstraction and A. Rodchenko's Constructivism. Furthermore, in the transitional era of the late 20th century and the 21st century it was recognized that film art or electronic media art, rather than traditional genre of paintings, would function as a more efficient way of propaganda. These new genres were made possible by ridiculing the stereotypes of the Russian lifestyle and also by ignoring ethical or professional dimensions of artworks. That is, they reinvented themselves into a sort of field art, seemingly degrading the quality of artworks and transforming them into artifacts or simulacres in the very sense of post-modernism. The advent of the new era brought about the formation and occupation of pop culture of the younger generations, calling into question the idea of art as the class-determined. It also increased the attention to field art, which extensively found way to modern art centers, galleries, and exhibition projects. It can be stated that this was a natural outcome of human nature.

'gender'는 사회적 의미의 성(性)이고 'sex'는 생물학적인 성(性)을 의미한다. 'gender'는 남녀 차별적인 'sex'보다 대등한 남녀간의 관계를 내포하며, 평등에 있어서도 모든 사회적인 동등함을 실현시켜야 한다는 뜻이 함축되어 있기 때문이다. 점점 더 많은 수의 여성이 과거의 남성 직업으로 진출해왔고, 직업 구조 자체가 바뀌어 가는 과정에서 여성의 일과 남성의 일의 구체적 목록은 변해 왔지만, 여전히 여성주의적 디자인 접근은 피상적인 답보상태에 머무르고 있고 수많은 가전제품의 도입과 개선이 이루어졌음에도 여성의 가사노동 부담은 상대적으로 개선된 점이 없다. 이미 과거의 남성들이 해왔던 일들은 대부분 기계화가 되었다. 현대적 가정기술은 여성이 가사노동의 조력자나 위임자 없이도 가정의 안락한 생활을 유지하는 것을 가능케 함으로써 여성의 사회활동에 기폭제가 된 것만은 틀림없다. 이에 따라 시대 변화 속에서 젠더 디자인의 개념 수립과 이에 따른 전략적 접근이 필요하다. 앞으로 우리의 삶과 상관되는 여성의 주체적 선택이 주어질 수 있는 디자인으로 바뀌기를 바라면서, 사회 속에서 여성의 노동과 그에 따른 가사활동의 문제를 제기하여 남성적 사고가 아닌 여성의 입장에서 디자인을 살펴보고자 했다.

'융복합'이란 현재 다양하게 사용되고 있는 단어이며 현 시대의 가장 주된 키워드이다. 예술에까지 활발한 교류로 이어지고 무용분야에서도 다양한 융복합 현상을 보이고 있으며 과학기술과 타 장르의 융복합 장르로써 또 다른 가치를 만드는 새로운 형태로 지적할 수 있다. 춤에 표현에 있어 전달매체로써 역할과 특성의 효과를 찾고 변화를 가져올 수 있음을 확인함이 목적이다. 이에 따라 선행연구를 토대로 했을 때 빔 반데키부스의 대한 평가가 다양한 시각에서 연구되었음을 알 수 있었다. 국내외를 비롯한 최근 활발하게 활동하는 유럽현대무용 안무가로서 예술 전반의 흐름에서 주목받는 빔 반데키부스를 선택하여 연구하였으며 작품 중 융복합이 명백히 들어나는 작품 <블러쉬>를 선택하였다. 작품에 나타난 융복합을 보면 무용에서 타 장르의 수용으로 새로운 창작의 시도와 영상의 활용으로 융복합성을 추출할 수 있으며, 안무의 독창성과 무대의 시·공간을 확장시키는 다양한 효과로 나타나는 것을 확인할 수 있다. 즉, 빔 반데키부스 작품을 조명하며 무용이 단순한 움직임에서 벗어난 실험적 요소로 새로운 시도를 볼 수 있고 작품안에서 융복합이 나타나는 바이다. 위와 같은 효과로 관객과의 새로운 소통을 마련하고 작품의 다양한 해석을 연상 할 수 있게 도와주고 있다. 따라서 그가 작품을 통해서 하고자 하는 말에 공감토록 만드는 융복합성 요소로 시대의 흐름에 따라 무용에서도 융복합 예술이 대중성을 가지고 더욱 활발하게 진행되기를 기대한다.
