  • In order to solve the contradiction between requirements of high sampling rate for acquiring accurate energy information of pulses and large amount of data to be processed timely, the method with an algorithm to correct errors caused by reducing the sampling rate is normally used in front-end read-out system, which is conductive to extract accurate energy information from digitized waveform of pulse. The functions and effects of algorithms, which mainly include polynomial fitting with different fitting times, double exponential function fitting under different sampling modes, and integral area algorithm, are analyzed and evaluated, and some meaningful results is presented in this paper. The algorithm described in the paper has been used preliminarily in a prototype system of Positron Emission Tomography (PET) for heavy-ion cancer therapy facility.

  • We research a system of compressed-sensing computational ghost imaging (CSCGI) based on the intensity fluctuation brought by turbulence. In this system, we used the gamma-gamma intensity-fluctuation model, which is commonly used in transmission systems, to simulate the CSCGI system. By setting proper values of the parameters such as transmission distance, refractive-index structure parameter, and sampling rates, the peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) performance and bit-error rate (BER) performance are obtained to evaluate the imaging quality, which provides a theoretical model to further research the ghost-imaging algorithm.

  • In order to investigate the ultraviolet-excited photoluminescence properties of phosphor coatings and their relationship to thickness, Lumogen coatings with different thicknesses were deposited on quartz substrates and charge-coupled device chips by thermal evaporation. The variation of the film thickness affected the crystallite size, surface roughness and fluorescence signal. It was found that the Lumogen coating with the thickness of 420 nm has the largest luminescent signal and conversion efficiency, and the corresponding coated charge-coupled devices had the maximum quantum efficiency in the ultraviolet. These results provided one key parameter for improving the sensitivity of Lumogen coated charge-coupled devices to ultraviolet light.

  • We developed a Dual-PPACs detector for fast neutron measurements that consists of two sets of PPAC: conventional PPAC and fission PPAC. A238U(U3O8) coating is placed in the fission PPAC's anode, which is used as the neutrons conversion layer. An experiment was performed to measure neutron time-of-flight (TOF) in which 252Cf spontaneous fission source was used. An excellent time resolution of 164ps has been observed at 6 mbar in isobutene gas. With the excellent time resolution of Dual-PPACs detector, exact neutron energy can be extracted from the timing measurement. The experimental detection efficiency was 1.9 × 10-7, consistent with the efficiency of 2.5 × 10-7 given by a Geant4 simulation. Ultimately, the results show that the Dual-PPACs detector is a suitable candidate for measuring fast neutrons in the future CiADS system.

  • The threads of this thesis are several theoretical issues of modern urban ideals. Modern architects and urban designers conceived their individual artifacts, which assumed to be laid out on the new settings totally different from the existing urban fabrics derived from inherently medieval ones. In the discussion of modern ideal society, the Industrial Revolution and the Enlightenment was a pivotal point. Innovations in technology and expanded living territories since the double revolution have been critical factors in the evolution of new ideas of urbanism. The tremendous success in science and technology led a way to the 'science-fiction' environment as a destined apocalyptic world. The dream, whether it was socialist or in any other believes, to a pastoral utopia beyond the capitalist society was represented through the ideal cities, which were modern versions of arcadia in the other approaches. Two sides of revolutionary ideas are presented as a futurist city and a garden city, which are on the separate notions but co-existed or overlapped in a single urban project such as in Le Corbusier urban schemes or even Tchumi's recent work, Parc de la Villette. Urban ideas in the twentieth century are based on urban naturalism, the notion of which was consistant from abbe Laugier to Le Corbusier, as well as machine aesthetics interpreted in terms of archeological research and modern technology.

  • The concept of dense granular-flow target (DGT) for the China Initiative Accelerator Driven Subcritical system (CiADS) is an attractive choice for high heat removal ability, low chemical toxicity, and radiotoxicity. A wobbling hollow beam is proposed to enhance the homogeneity of temperature rise of flowing particles in beam-target coupling zone. In this paper, the design procedure of target and beam parameters was discussed firstly. Then we simulated the heat deposition and transfer of the scanning beam in DGT to study the effect of beam parameters. The results show the flux density of proton beam plays a crucial role in the distribution of temperature rise while the contributions from scanning frequency heat transfer are also obvious. Moreover, heat transfer in transversal directions is insignificant, resulting in a low heat flux towards the sidewalls of DGT. This work not only contributes to the design of DGT, but also beneficial for understanding the beam-target coupling in porous materials.

  • D. J. Haraway's cyber-feminism and Kim Seon Hee's eco-feminism are so different in the perspective of the modern scientific technology. While cyber-feminism thinks the outcome of the modern scientific technology positively, eco-feminism criticizes the totalitarianism and the human negation which the modern scientific technology gives rise to. Cyber-feminism gives us an image of the future female, but exposes an easygoing way of thinking of the modern scientific technology. On the other hand eco-feminism takes notice of the risk, that the modern scientific technology can be abused by the power of the minority, but fails in overcoming of the traditional view of female.

  • In nuclear fusion reactors, the key structural component (i.e., the plasma-facing component) undergoes high heat flux cyclic loading. To ensure the safety of fusion reactors, an experimental study on the temperature-induced creep of stainless steel under heat flux cyclic loading was performed in the present work. The strains were measured using a stereo digital image correlation technique (3D-DIC). The influence of the heat haze was eliminated, owing to the use of a vacuum environment. The specimen underwent heat flux cycles ($500^{\circ}C-1000^{\circ}C$) with different mechanical preloads (0 kN, 10 kN, 30 kN, and 50 kN). The results revealed that, for a relatively large preload (for example, 50 kN), a single temperature cycle can induce a residual strain of up to $15000{\mu}{\varepsilon}$.

  • This study examines how Gosijo's sentiment flows into modern poem. Therefore, it has the purpose of utilizing the healing devices staying in the gap between Gosijo and Modern poem for literary therapy. Gosijo's extreme solitude and calm are invaded into modern poem, producing a sleepless night of solitude. The sentences with the emotions of Gosijo are different in modern poem, but the Gosijo and modern poem share the same emotions. These literary devices provide a sentiment of healing to modern people. This study will contribute to the activation of literary therapy in the future.

  • Microfluidic chip technology is a research focus in biology, chemistry, and medicine, for example. However, microfluidic chips are rarely applied in imaging, especially in ghost imaging. Thus in this work we propose a ghost-imaging system, in which we deploy a novel microfluidic chip modulator (MCM) constructed of double-layer zigzag micro pipelines. While in traditional situations a spatial light modulator (SLM) and supporting computers are required, we can get rid of active modulation devices and computers with this proposed scheme. The corresponding simulation analysis verifies good feasibility of the scheme, which can ensure the quality of data transmission and achieve convenient, fast ghost imaging passively.
