The purpose of this study was to examine the modern implication and religious value of the Medicine Buddha faith. Accordingly, the theoretical background of Medicine Buddha faith was reviewed based on various literature, including Bhaisajyaguru Sutra, a representative literature on Medicine Buddha, and the two key goals of Medicine Buddha faith were set up and analyzed. As a result of this study, the modern implication and religious value of the Medicine Buddha faith were presented as follows. First of all, it is the modern implication of the Medicine Buddha faith. First, the Medicine Buddha faith promotes a shift in the perspective that disease is the subject of healing, not treatment. Second, the Medicine Buddha faith expands diseases not only to medical diseases but also to disabilities and makes them an object of healing. Third, the Medicine Buddha faith promotes healing through performance that strengthens the positivity of the mind. Next is the religious value of the Medicine Buddha faith. First of all, the Medicine Buddha faith has strong religious acceptance. Second, the Medicine Buddha faith is characterized by being accepted by modern people beyond religion and sect. Based on the results of this study, this study made suggestions to improve the quality of life of modern people suffering from pain in their daily lives due to diseases and unnatural death.

Most who have heard of Sang-Seol Lee know him for his contribution to the Korean independence movement nearly a hundred years ago. This paper, however, will discuss Lee's other great contribution to his country; that of being "The father of modern mathematical education in Korea". Lee passed the rigorous government officer examination with the highest honor and became a teacher for the royal prince. Later he became the president of Sunkyunkwan, a national institute of higher learning since 1398, and eventually a well-known university bearing the same name. Lee was also a highly regarded Confucian scholar and well versed in foreign languages. He wanted Korea to become a modern country and felt that the areas of science and engineering were studies that needed improving in order to achieve modernization. While researching Western textbooks on the subjects he realized that Western mathematics would be especially important for Korea. With that, it became his mission to integrate Western mathematics into the Korean educational system. This paper will explain the importance of Sang-Seol Lee's contributions to mathematic education in Korea and how it helped Korea become the modern nation it is today.

Modern and contemporary cultural assets are defined as a collective term for tangible historical and cultural assets produced in the modern and contemporary period (around the opening of Joseon to the present) in Korea. Among them, rickshaws have been used as a major means of transportation for about 40 years since the opening of the ports in Joseon. The repair process for rickshaws divides the rickshaw into three parts, namely the body, the cover, and the wheels, applying a plaster treatment process by referring to the outcomes of the condition assessment and material analysis for the metal, wood, fiber, and paint used. Overall, the repair process is carried out through dry/wet cleaning, joining, stabilization, reinforcement of damaged parts, and other restoration treatments, which reveal metal decorations and patterns on the scaffolding (flowers, arabesque patterns, etc.) that were previously not observable with the naked eye, while also adding to the stability of the artifact. In addition, props were produced to ensure the artifact's safe exhibition.

This study is to examine the modern women's awareness make-up in psychological standpoint based upon the survey of $20\~30$ years old women's consciousness of the motivation, the attention, the psychological utility, the attitude for make-up, the action behavior and the coordination with clothes. Modern women show a keen interest in make-up in company with the diversity of a fashion. This means the tendency which the intention for change and the expression of oneself are emphasizing on. The motivations of make-up are women's attention to other people and notice of evaluation of others and social meaning of make-up in relation with one's interest in appearances. Also, total coordination is concerned as another motivation. Make-up became the practical use and usual doings for women with the diversity of the information of make-up & the increase of cosmetics. Since there were so many women responded that they start to make up in their teens, we recognized that the women's sense of values has changed with the change of modern society.

The most important issue of today in design genre is the comprehensive design that overcomes the limitations of the rational and logical designs of functionalism that has had influences in entire 20th century and encompasses even the emotional aspect of humans. The emotional design factors in furniture designs will be analyzed in order to analyze their effects and values on the consumers of present times. The emotional uses of the patterns with the motive of nature expressing papers, flowers, wood textures, natural phenomena etc as they are and the colors with the vivid feeling of primary colors represent more dynamic and cheerful life style and the designs are characterized by the warm primary colors that give the feeling that the nature has been transferred to the designs as it is. Diverse materials such as leather, fur, fabric and the materials with soft and flexible feeling such as silicone material have been used more widely and they are used as the materials expressing freedom not being formalized. The designs that can produce diverse spaces desired by users by gathering unit modules can be said to be the outcome of the emotional designs combined with the needs of modern peoples that aspire their own designs.

With the rapid economical and technological progress in China, the demand for wine increased tremendously along with the need for wine storage furniture and wine related products. Although demand for furniture increased, consumers' emotional need toward high quality design product has not been met properly. As the quality of people's life improves, they pursue better materials providing them with higher mental satisfaction. To meet the specific demand of Chinese market stated above, the direction of this report is set as to study pattern elements of Chinese traditional lattice and combine them with wine storage furniture design and crafting, which is originated from western culture. By doing that, the study is aimed to suggest a new direction of Chinese modern design and to improve the fundamental notion of Chinese furniture design. Although wine and wine racks are from western world, the wine mini-bar designed in this study stands out for its beauty and taste of eastern culture. It not only fits perfectly to the habits and taste of wine lovers, but also goes very well with fusion style interior design trend in modern China. The furniture carries the charm of eastern cultural tradition and elegance of modern furniture design in one.

To investigate the occurrence of modern living planktonic foraminiferal species and their seasonal variations around Jeju Island, we conducted planktonic foraminiferal sampling at KIOST's regular sampling sites during 16 months. In total seven genus and 16 modern planktonic foraminiferal species were identified with six dominant species. Dominant species were Gloigerinoides sacculifer, Globigerinoides ruber, Globigerina bulloides, Noegloboquadrina dutertrei, Pulleniatina obliquiloculata, and Globorotalia inflata. Most of the species were characterized as being typical subtropical species and showed seasonal variations and/or intermittent occurrence from season to season. The occurrence of living foraminifera revealed a strong relationship with water temperature, but not with salinity. Species succession seems to occur along with water temperature changes. Some patch distribution and water temperature dependences appear to be significant since there is a high degree of variation in the occurrence patterns of species and standing stock. More detailed quantitative study is necessary to confirm the species diversity and seasonal variations of planktonic foraminifera and related ocean environmental changes.

This article examines spatial concepts of urban design led by Camillo Sitte (1843-1903) and its influences. Sitte infused the fervor of city planning as an initiator, and his achievements affected Adolf Loos (1870-1933). Thus, this thesis, with regard to Sitte's penchants concerning urban design, focuses on two matters in order to understand Camillo Sitte's efforts to invent a new method on modern city planning and its influence on an architect: first, it deals with his urban studies, theories, and practices on city planning that consider communal living and everyday life and urban typology as well; second, it discusses how his urban ideas are accepted by Adolf Loos. Conclusively, through the investigations on Sitte's movement on city planning and its influence on Adolf Loos, this study clarifies Sitte's efforts to improve urban life and its milieus, and then Loos's efforts to adopt Sitte's criticisms and then re-interpret them in tune with the modern way of living as well. As a result, this thesis shows that they suggested new methods in performing dialectic designs, drawing on the picturesque and modern tradition, although their difference is differentiated from the sense of space, exterior vs. interior, i.e. Raumkunst vs. Raumplan.

Encryption technology is to hide information in a cyberspace built using a computer and to prevent third parties from changing it. If a malicious user accesses unauthorized device or application services on the Internet of objects, it may be exposed to various security threats such as data leakage, denial of service, and privacy violation. One way to deal with these security threats is to encrypt and deliver the data generated by a user. Encrypting data must be referred to a technique of changing data using a complicated algorithm so that no one else knows the content except for those with special knowledge. As computers process computations that can be done at a very high speed, current cryptographic techniques are vulnerable to future computer performance improvements. We designed and implemented a new encryption program that combines ancient and modern cryptography so that the user never knows about data management, and transmission. The significance of this paper is that it is the safest method to combine various kinds of encryption methods to secure the weaknesses of the used cryptographic algorithms.

This study discussed how the Moo-hyup prototype that has been formed from novels and comics was applied to TV drama in modern form beyond martial art movies, historical TV series and games by exploring Japanese TV drama . This study showed that follows the Moo-hyup prototype such as imaginary space and violence, the relationship between characters with the spirit of Moo-hyup, and the structure of Moo-hyup story rather than a story of teenagers' growing-up. This study is ultimately expected to reveal the possibility that the Moohyup prototype can be applied to the TV drama in modern form as well as historical stories.
