  • The purposes of this study is to investigate the characteristics of historicism in modern fashion and to introduce the appropriate approaching and application method of costume history. As one of the characteristic of Post modernism, historicism is an important theme in modern fashion. In this study, the background and the characteristic of Post modernism is considered and the historicism in the Post modern architecture and literature is studied. Next, through the artworks of Vivienne Westwood and Christian Lacroix who are excellent in the modernization of historical costume, the historicism in modern fashion is studied. The characteristic of historicism in Post modem architecture and literature comes from the nostalgia, aspiration for the past, and recurrence to the nature. It is not the revival of the past but the crossover of the past and the present. The characteristics of historicism in modern fashion are as follows. ·form; style, silhouette, and items that are shown in the historical costume come with the mixture of modem textile, new technique, and modem design. ·Materials and patterns; classical and romantic patterns, the artwork of the artist, and the fabric which is remake of remains are used. ·Technique; Tailoring techniques and the pattern making of the historical costume are used. ·Trimmings and etc.; Lots of handworks, trimmings and accessaries in that are inspired from the past are used. These elements are not come from a certain place and time but mixed surpassing places and times. With that, not only the form and the position of wearing but the meaning and purpose of wearing are changed.

  • Since the idea of registering architectural heritage from the early 20th century was introduced as part of the code in the Cultural Heritage Protection Law in July, 2001, more systematic and flexible application the code has been in great demand. It is the aim of this thesis that we preserve modern buildings and then use this research data what find our modern history. So we should find connection of modem and tradition with the overcome of the feeling of being victimized. Accordingly, based on preservation cases and finding of modern house heritage, it is the aim of this thesis that we find the way of the best use. The purpose of this research is to establish a more comprehensive and commonsensical guideline for the preservation of modern architecture satisfying both the government and the registering party, based on more thorough architectural analysis of residential edifices. The results of this study were as follows: (1) It is necessary for application and conservation by point, area and network method. (2) It is needed that periodically check and record central system for the purpose of the management of those. (3) It's consider that develop of conservation method on co-ownership with citizen by house personality.

  • This paper presents the convergence time, SER(Symbol Error Rate), MSE(Mean Square Error), hardware complexity and step-size(${\mu}$) about various LMS(Least Mean Square) algorithms in FS-DFE(Fractionally Spaced-Decision Feedback Equalize) for Cable Modem based on MCNS(Multimedia Cable Network System) DOCSIS(Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification) v1.0/v1.1 standards. We designed and simulated using ${SPW}^{TM}$ and synthesized using STD90 library through ${SYNOPSYS}^{TM}$. And also, we adopted the time-multiplexed multiplication and tap shared architecture in order to achieve the low hardware complexity. Simulation results show that DS-LMS algorithms[1][3] is the optimum solution about performace and hardware size. in high order QAM applications. Finally, we achieved area saving about 58% using DS-LMS algorithm compare with conventional equalizer architecture.

  • Most of these cultural spaces are Western architecture which is completely unrelated to our traditional style. In Japan's colonial rule of Korea these Western formation flowed in and passed on by them. Therefore before the understanding of modem cultural space built in Japan's colonial rule of Korea, it's essential to study about the background of the western period in that time, architecture and trend of interior. Due to Great Depression and other reasons the economical modernism of architecture raised in this period. In this thesis, based on such background of period, cultural space has been divided into assembly, theatre and exhibition spaces. Those spaces were studied according to its expressional characteristics and brought to following conclusion from the analysis. The cultural spaces were created around 1930 due to an increase of demand when the modernism started to establish. Like other buildings cultural space expressed modernized elevation and space formation with ferroconcrete building. However until Japan's colonial period the cultural areas were not used for public but for Japanese authority class's social gatherings only. Consequently, unlike other buildings the classical elements that could express these characters were more used in cultural spaces especially in theater and exhibition areas. This distinctiveness didn't appear separately but according to type of rooms in one space. Once more, place like assembly space was expressed with modernism, special or recreation rooms where people pursue a comfort were expressed with decorative style. Also a special theater which was used for only one person was generally expressed with western style to represent the stem character such as power.

  • In this paper, we presented the design and implementation of 155Mbps satellite Modem adaptively compensated against the rain attenuation. In order to compensate the rain attenuation over high-speed satellite ink, the adaptive coding schemes with variable coding rates and the pragmatic TCM that can be decoded both the QPSK and TC-8PSK using same Viterbi decoder was studied and analyzed. The pragmatic TCM with rate 213, selected to the optimal parameters for implementation, was modeled by VHDL in this paper. The key design issues are how to achieve a high data rate and how to integrated into a single ASIC chip various functions such as the different data rates, Scrambler/descrambler, Interleaver, Encoder/decoder, and BPSK/QPSK/8PSK modulator/demodulator. The implemented 155M0ps adaptive MODEM has the simplified interface circuits among the many functional blocks, and parallel processing architecture to achieve the high data rate. This 155Mbps adaptive MODEM was designed and implemented by single ASIC chip with the 0.25 $\mu\textrm{m}$ CMOS standard cell technology.

  • Perception of architectural experience is different in different culture. This paper aims to identify how the experience of architecture is understood to be different in Eastern and Western culture. The discussion is based on the idea that the Western architecture placed more emphasis on visual perception, while the Eastern, on mutual responsiveness between man and built environment. The fact that the Western culture is more visually oriented than other culture, and therefore visual aspect of architecture, too, is considered to be very important, is already widely agreed among scholars. But, then, what had been considered to be important in the architectural experience in the East? It is the degree and quality of mutual responsiveness between man and architectural environment. This fact influenced much on the making of architecture of course, and the same fact played the key role in making the Eastern architecture different from that of the West. We are so used to the way of architecture of the West, that the quality of responsiveness is unknown if not forgotten. However, it is not the quality that was useful only in traditional society of the East, but necessary in our modem period as well. The quality for responsiveness, therefore, should be rediscovered and restored as the prime value and quality of architecture in the future architecture.
