A mathematical model for investigating the form generation mechanism in the centerless infeed grinding process is described. For 3-D modeling of form generation, contact points are assumed to be on least squares contact lines at the grinding wheel, regulating wheel, and work-rest blade. Using force and deflection analysis, the validity of this assumption is shown. Based on the 2-D simulation model developed in the previous work and the least squares contact line assumption, a 3-D model is presented. To validate this model, simulation results were compared with the experimental works. The experiments and computer simulations were carried out using three types of cylindrical workpiece shapes with varying flat length. The experimental results agree well with the simulation. It can be seen that the effect of flat end propagated to the opposite end through workpiece reorientation.
Translationally controlled tumor protein (TCTP), also known as histamine releasing factor (HRF), is found abundantly in different eukaryotic cell types. The sequence homology of TCTP between different species is very high, belonging to the MSS4/DSS4 superfamily of proteins. TCTP is involved in both cell growth and human late allergy reaction, as well as having a calcium binding property; however, its primary biological functions remain to be clearly elucidated. In regard to many possible functions, the TCTP of Plasmodium falciparum (Pf) is known to bind with an antimalarial agent, artemisinin, which is activated by heme. It is assumed that the endoperoxide-bridge of artemisinin is opened up by heme to form a free radical, which then eventually alkylates, probably to the Cys14 of PfTCTP. Study of the docking of artemisinin with heme, and subsequently with PfTCTP, was carried out to verify the above hypothesis on the basis of structural interactions. The three dimensional (3D) structure of PfTCTP was built by homology modeling, using the NMR structure of the TCTP of Schizosaccharomyces pombe as a template. The quality of the model was examined based on its secondary structure and biological function, as well as with the use of structure evaluating programs. The interactions between artemisinin, heme and PfTCTP were then studied using the docking program, FlexiDock. The center of the peroxide bond of artemisinin and the Fe of heme were docked within a short distance of $2.6{\AA}$, implying the strong possibility of an interaction between the two molecules, as proposed. When the activated form of artemisinin was docked on the PfTCTP, the C4-radical of the drug faced towards the sulfur of Cys14 within a distance of $2.48{\AA}$, again suggesting the possibility of alkylation having occurred. These results confirm the proposed mechanism of the antimalarial effect of artemisinin, which will provide a reliable method for establishing the mechanism of its biological activity using a molecular modeling study.

The ABS method which is modeling the shape-design helps designers concentrate upon the design intuitively, using the modeling method based on the geometrical characteristics, the property information (a point. a curve. slopes. etc.). For the multi-sided patches, the ABS Modeling attempts the modeling with the uniform domain like a right triangle and a regular square. The mentioned method can reduce the speed of modeling but it can cause the difference from a designer's intention in the process of interpolation between the attributes for object modeling. Therefore, in this paper. we propose ABS modeling based on the Chordlength domain method to minimize such differences. The Chordlength, one of the methods generating irregular domain. is the technique transforming the domain in accordance with the length and form of attributes which a shape consists of. The Chordlength domain method is performed using MEL.

For the accurate creation of annotation information in a free-form annotation environment, the ambiguity that arises in the analysis stage between the geometric information and annotations needs to be resolved. Therefore, this This paper identifies, analyzes, and proposes presents solutions methods for the ambiguity that can occur between free-form marking and various contexts in XML-based annotation environment. The proposed method is based on context which includes various textual and structure information between free-form marking and annotated part. The proposed method show that the annotated portions areas included in the free-form marking information are more accurate, achieving more accurate exchange results amongst multiple users in a heterogeneous document environment. This study can be effectively applied to eLearning, Cyber-Class, and IETM

A lot of very complex free-form buildings such as Seoul City Office and DDP(Dongdaemun Design Plaza) have been recently built nowadays in domestic. However, as construction methods and cost data are decided without enough discussion and collaboration with specialized subcontractors during design stage, construction quality problems and cost overrun of the free-form buildings are thus occurred during construction stage. Therefore design system and process or contract and ordering system should be developed participating the specialized subcontractors during design stage in order to perfect the free-form design and construction. Especially US has thus an effort to apply IPD(Integrated Project Delivery) system which can solve the problems of construction quality, productivity decrease and cost overrun by constructing the buildings based on exact drawings and collaboration as well as activating BIM(Building Information Modeling). Therefore this study reviews cases of the free-form buildings in domestic and then presents necessity review of IPD in domestic.

The purpose of this study is to suggest the machining technique of the constant control of cutting speed in order to improve precision machining and tool life in high speed machining using ball end mill. Cutting speed is changed in machining free form surface like free form surface. So, we don't have supreme surface form and toll life on machining. The way to solving this problem is that we should be settled to optimal cutting speed in free form surface machining. And, to improve precision machining is executed high speed machining method to output optimum NC data with developed constant control of cutting speed program after modeling of CAD/CAM. In this paper, a comparison was made of the cutting precision and tool life in conventional cutting and those in free form surface machining applying the program developed.

The user interface design needs to support the complex interactions between human and computers. It also requires comprehensive knowledges many areas to collect customer's requirements and negotiate with them. The user interface designer needs to be a graphic expert, requirement analyst, system designer, programmer, technical expert, social activity scientist, and so on. Therefore, it is necessary to research on an designing methodology of user interface for satisfying various expertise areas. In the paper, We propose the 4 business event's abstract object visualizing phases such as fold abstract object modeling, task abstract object modeling, transaction abstract object modeling, and form abstract object modeling. As a result, this modeling method allows us to enhance visual cohesion of UI, and help unskilled designer to can develope the higy-qualified user interface.

Most of the previously employed dynamic modeling approaches, including Natural Orthogonal Complement Algorithm, have limitations on their application to the mobile robot, specifically at singular configurations. Also, in their dynamic modeling of mobile robots, wheel dynamics is usually ignored assuming that its dynamic effect is negligibly small. As a remedy for this, a singularity-free operational space dynamic modeling approach based on Lagrange's form of the D' Alembert principle is proposed, and the singularity-free characteristic of the proposed dynamic modeling is discussed in the process of analytical derivation of the proposed dynamic model. Then an accurate dynamic model taking into account the wheel dynamics of the omni-directional mobile robot is derived, and through simulation it is manifested that the effect of the wheel dynamics on the whole dynamic model of the mobile robot may not be negligible, but rather in some cases it is significantly large, possibly affecting the operational performances of dynamic model-based control algorithms. Lastly, the importance of its accurate dynamic model is further illustrated through impulse analysis and its simulation for the mobile robot.
Spacer grids play an important role in maintaining the proper form of the fuel assembly structure and ensuring the safety of reactor core design. This study applies the Monte Carlo method to the analysis of the neutronics effects of spacer grids in a typical pressurized water reactor (PWR). The core problem used to analyze the neutronics effects of spacer grids is a modified version of Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology benchmark problem 1B, based on an Advanced Power Reactor 1400 (APR1400) core model. The spacer grids are modeled and added to this test problem in various ways. Then, by running MCNP5 for all cases of spacer grid modeling, some important numerical results, such as the effective multiplication factor, the spatial distributions of neutron flux, and its energy spectrum are obtained. The numerical results of each case of spacer grid modeling are analyzed and compared to assess which type has more advantages in accuracy of numerical results and effectiveness in terms of geometry building. The conclusion is that the most realistic modeling for Monte Carlo calculation is the "volume-preserving" streamlined heterogeneous spacer grids, but the "banded" dissolution spacer grids modeling is a more practical yet accurate model for routine (deterministic) analysis.
Purpose The traditional topic modeling technique makes it difficult to distinguish the semantic of topics because the key words assigned to each topic would be also assigned to other topics. This problem could become severe when the number of online reviews are small. In this paper, the extended model of topic modeling technique that can be used for analyzing a small amount of online reviews is proposed. Design/methodology/approach The extended model of being proposed in this paper is a form that combines the traditional topic modeling technique and the Word2Vec technique. The extended model only allocates main words to the extracted topics, but also generates discriminatory words between topics. In particular, Word2vec technique is applied in the process of extracting related words semantically for each discriminatory word. In the extended model, main words and discriminatory words with similar words semantically are used in the process of semantic classification and naming of extracted topics, so that the semantic classification and naming of topics can be more clearly performed. For case study, online reviews related with Udo in Tripadvisor web site were analyzed by applying the traditional topic modeling and the proposed extension model. In the process of semantic classification and naming of the extracted topics, the traditional topic modeling technique and the extended model were compared. Findings Since the extended model is a concept that utilizes additional information in the existing topic modeling information, it can be confirmed that it is more effective than the existing topic modeling in semantic division between topics and the process of assigning topic names.
