A Study of Implementation of a Firewall that Using the both Gateway Mode and Bridge Mode (게이트웨이 모드와 브리지 모드를 동시에 지원하는 침입차단시스템 구현에 관한 연구)

  • Because of the rapid growth of Internet, the firewall is generally used to protect the network sorority. The firewall on Linux or FreeBSD Kernal, which is widely used, supports either Gateway or Bridge Mode. In this study, we present the firewall which supports simultaneously Gateway and Bridge Mode. For the application service, it is suggested that the firewall which has excellent expandability ran construct a network without another proxy.

Comparision in Emission Inspection System of a Gasoline Vehicle in Service (운행 휘발유 자동차의 배출가스검사 시스템 비교)

  • In the most of a nation, the safety and emission gas inspection system of a vehicle in service have been conducted with the most compatible inspection system according to its real environmental situation. Especially, the state of vehicle emission gas is measured by advanced emission gas inspection equipment. It has the problem that the decrease effect of an environmental pollution matter is not calculated by weight percent measurement type equipment. Therefore, in this study, the correlations for the results of emission gas measurement are analyzed by comparing a weight percent measurement type (IDLE+ASM2525 mode) and an advanced mass measurement type (IM240 mode). As the result, the selectivity of an emission gas by IM240 mode is higher than that by IDLE+ASM2525 mode. In the future, therefore, the introduction of IM240 mode and a mass measurement type equipment are necessary. Also, we need to prepare a vehicle emission gas inspection system for introducing IM240 mode.

  • This paper is describing an ADSL access network configuration by packet mode and analyzed the performance of this ADSL network. We are interesting in difference between ATM mode and packet mode concerning to the performance and service availability.   • This study applies the Delphi method to design services with convergence characteristics in the financial sector. In designing a service robot for practical deployment that can support and replace bank teller, the opinions and judgments of various expert groups were extracted and a consensus process was made through feedback. A total of six dimensions and thirty service elements were derived over three rounds. Coefficient of Variation and content validity were used to verify the suitability and reliability of the selected service elements. As a result, the essential service element of robots was interaction with customers, followed by basic and professional financial services. Based on these service factors, we proposed two types of service models. support mode to assist employees during business hours and alternative mode on behalf of employees outside business hours. It is hoped that this study will use the Delphi technique in the design of IT convergence services.

An Introductory Study of the Level-of-Service Evaluation Methodology of Urban Roads with Multimodal Considerations (다수단 Mode를 고려한 도시부 도로의 서비스수준 평가방법에 관한 기초연구)

  • PURPOSES : The key point of a multimodal LOS (level-of-service) evaluation system is that all of the modes are mutually associated to determine each mode's LOS. For example, the LOS of the bicycle mode is measured based on not only bicycle volumes, but also automobile volumes. However, the Korea Highway Capacity Manual (KHCM) still focuses on the automobile mode in evaluating the LOS of the roads. Additionally, the KHCM's LOS of the other modes, except for the automobile, is not consistent with actual road conditions. The KHCM, therefore, needs to develop and introduce a multimodal LOS system in order to evaluate the service conditions more accurately. METHODS: As a preliminary step to the introduction of multimodal LOS research, in this study the current problem of the KHCM's LOS system through a close review and comparison with other HCMs (highway capacity manuals) was identified. Secondly, a field survey and investigation of the urban streets to apply the HCM's multimodal LOS system was conducted. Finally, a comparison analysis of the results of the HCM and KHCM LOS was performed. RESULTS: In the study, it was found that the results of the LOS for the automobile mode did not show a significant difference between the HCM and KHCM. However, the LOS of the bicycle and pedestrian mode tended to be worse in the multimodal LOS system, which results from considering the effects of the automobile mode. Moreover, it was found that many cases have the potential to improve the overall LOS conditions, while reducing the automobile capacity. CONCLUSIONS: With the introduction of the multimodal LOS system, road diet and complete streets can be easily applied to ans actual road improvement project. Ultimately, the multimodal LOS system should be introduced into the KHCM, which can then be applied to traffic impact studies and other road improvement projects for more accurate evaluations.

Analyzing the Difference between the Stated Preference and the Revealed Preference before/after the High-speed Rail Service in Korea

  • The Korean high-speed rail (HSR) began its commercial service in 2004. This service has been created significant changes in the system of intercity passenger travels of Korea. However, the actual ridership was approximately half of the estimated one in the planning stage. In this background, this paper presents the difference between the stated preference (SP) before the HSR service and the revealed preference (RP) after it using the intercity travel mode choice models. Several meaningful differences are found in terms of the factors affecting the travel mode choice, the estimation results of model, the monetary values of time, and elasticities. While the access/egress travel time of high-speed rail is less important than in-vehicle travel time in the SP sample, they have same weight in the RP sample. Also the RP models show that the probability of choosing HSR can be decreased by the increase of the number of vehicles in household contrary to the results from the SP models. The monetary values of travel time are relatively high and the direct and cross elasticities in response to changes in level-of-service of HSR are relatively low in the RP sample. This Korean case is expected to offer referable material for preparing high-speed rail services in other countries by showing the difference between the SP and RP before/after the actual service, identifying the importance of access/egress travel time and lower direct elasticities of HSR demand.

Development of Half-Mirror Interface System and Its Application for Ubiquitous Environment (유비쿼터스 환경을 위한 하프미러형 인터페이스 시스템 개발과 응용)

  • In the era of ubiquitous computing, human-friendly man-machine interface is getting more attention due to its possibility to offer convenient services. For this, in this paper, we introduce a 'Half-Mirror Interface System (HMIS)' as a novel type of human-friendly man-machine interfaces. Basically, HMIS consists of half-mirror, USB-Webcam, microphone, 2ch-speaker, and high-speed processing unit. In our HMIS, two principal operation modes are selected by the existence of the user in front of it. The first one, 'mirror-mode', is activated when the user's face is detected via USB-Webcam. In this mode, HMIS provides three basic functions such as 1) make-up assistance by magnifying an interested facial component and TTS (Text-To-Speech) guide for appropriate make-up, 2) Daily weather information provider via WWW service, 3) Health monitoring/diagnosis service using Chinese medicine knowledge. The second one, 'display-mode' is designed to show decorative pictures, family photos, art paintings and so on. This mode is activated when the user's face is not detected for a time being. In display-mode, we also added a 'healing-window' function and 'healing-music player' function for user's psychological comfort and/or relaxation. All these functions are accessible by commercially available voice synthesis/recognition package.

Improved VDSL Frequency plan for Symmetric 10MDSL Service (양방향 10MDSL 서비스를 위한 개선된 VDSL Frequency plan)

  • In this paper, we studied a now VDSL frequency plan mode 6 for improved\ulcorner symmetric 10MDSL service. The frequency plan 998 for asymmetric and frequency plan 997 for symmetric have arc not optimally designed for 10MDSL service. To improve reach and rates of 10MDSL, we proposed for a now frequency plan. According to the results of our simulation studios of newly Proposed mode 6 frequency plan which compared to plan 998, 997, and ethers[2], the new scheme gives an improved performance in rates and reach.

A Study on the pattern of tenant layout in the Urban Entertainment Center (도심 엔터테인먼트 쇼핑센터(UEC)의 테넌트 배치 형태에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the pattern of tenant layout for selected cases of five different Urban Entertainment Center(UEC) in Seoul. This research deals with the process of gaining tenant layout pattern of 40 different types. It is composed of three combination unit with tenants of the same or different consumption mode, which is divided into four different functions of retail, entertainment, dining, and service. Then, every tenant of research cases is classified as one of the fabric type, and the data is analyzed to gain its frequency rate with SPSS 14.0 program. The following is the overall explanation of the result for this research. The frequency of tenant layout pattern between the same consumption mode shows the high rate when compared to the other patterns with different consumption mode. For example, the frequency rate of tenant layout pattern which retail and dining consumption mode are placed side by side like RRR and DDD is high. Interestingly, the frequency rate of RRR type of tenant layout pattern that sells the similar products shows especially high level. It can provide the effective environment for shoppers to compare retail goods in many different stores as producing synergic effects when they are located near each other, so this strategy should be considered when planning tenants in UEC environment. Moreover, in case of dining tenants, when they are clustered together in the UEC environment it can play a role as an anchor tenant. Tenant layout pattern of dining-retail and dining-service consumption mode shows the high frequency rate than other layout pattern with other consumption mode. Besides, entertainment consumption tenants combined with dining or retail tenants show the high frequency rate when compared to the pattern combined with service consumption mode.

  • 본 논문해서는 m-커머스의 대표적인 성공 사례로 꼽히고 있는 NTT DoCOMo의 i-mode 서비스에 초점을 맞추어 성공요인과 그러한 성공을 이끌어 내는데 결정적인 역할을 담당한 웹 페이지 기술언어에 대해 살펴보았다. 분석 결과에 근거하면, i-mode 서비스의 대대적인 성공은 끊임없이 Positive Feedback의 계기를 만들어 냄으로써 가능하게 되었는데, 그것은 다름 아닌 C-HTML이라는 웹페이지 기술언어의 채용이 많은 역할을 하고 있다.
