RELATIVISTIC INTERPLAY BETWEEN ADAPTIVE MOVEMENT AND MOBILITY ON BIODIVERSITY IN THE ROCK-PAPER-SCISSORS GAME

  • Adaptive behaviors are one of ubiquitous features in evolutionary dynamics of populations, and certain adaptive behaviors can be witnessed by individuals' movements which are generally affected by local environments. In this paper, by revisiting the previous work, we investigate the sensitivity of species coexistence in the system of cyclic competition where species movement can be affected by local environments. By measuring the extinction probability through Monte-Carlo simulations, we find the relativistic effect of weights of local fitness and exchange rate for adaptive movement on species biodiversity which promotes species coexistence as the relativistic effect is intensified. In addition, by means of basins of initial conditions, we also found that adaptive movement can also affect species biodiversity with respect to the choice of initial conditions. The strong adaptive movement can eventually lead the coexistence as a globally stable state in the spatially extended system regardless of mobility.

  • In MANET(mobile ad hoc network), Mobility models vary according to the application-specific goals. The most widely used Random WayPoint Mobility Model(RWPMM) is advantageous because it is simple and easy to implement, but the random characteristic of nodes' movement is not enough to express the mobile characteristics of the entire sensor nodes' movements. The random mobility model is insufficient to express the inherent movement characteristics of the entire sensor nodes' movements. In the proposed Stochastic mobility model, To express the overall nodes movement characteristics of the network, the moving nodes are treated as random variables having a specific probability distribution characteristic. The proposed Stochastic mobility model is more stable and energy-efficient than the existing random mobility model applies to the routing protocol to ensure improved performances in terms of energy efficiency.

Effects of the Functional Movement Correction Exercise on the Functional Movement Screen Scores of Badminton Players (기능성 움직임 교정운동이 배드민턴 선수의 Functional Movement Screen 점수에 미치는 효과)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of a functional movement correction exercise on the functional movement screen scores of badminton players. Methods: The participants consisted of 25 badminton players who were randomly assigned to an experimental group (n = 13) or a control group (n = 12); they engaged in exercise three times per week for eight weeks. The experimental group engaged in the functional movement correction exercise, while the control group engaged in general exercise. An FMS kit (USA) was used to measure the following: FMS score, deep squat, hurdle step, in-line lunge, shoulder mobility, active straight leg raise, trunk stability push up, and rotary stability. Results: The FMS score, deep squat, hurdle step, in-line lunge, shoulder mobility, active straight leg raise, and trunk stability push up, and rotary stability showed significant improvement in the experimental group (p < 0.05). Conclusion: The experiment confirmed that the functional movement screen scores of badminton players improve with effective exercise interventions.

The Study on the Movement of Mathematics Contents among School Levels (중학교 수학학습요소의 학교급간 이동에 대한 분석)

  • This study was based on the analysis of changes in curriculum of elementary mathematics curriculum, and changes in curriculum of middle school and high school mathematics curriculum. The purpose of this study is to analyze the movement of learning contents among the school levels based on the middle school mathematics curriculum and to summarize the influence on the curriculum of middle school mathematics according to the movement of learning contents. The research conducted according to the purpose of this study is as follows. First, we analyzed the trends of mathematical contents between elementary and middle schools after the movement of ten mathematics curriculums. Second, we analyzed trends of learning factors after mobility and mobility between middle school and high school. Third, the characteristics of 'the contents of mutual movement based on middle school' and 'the contents deleted from middle school' were analyzed. The results of this study are expected to reflect on current and past curriculum and to give meaningful implications to the composition of new curriculum.

Data Dissemination Protocol based on Predictable Mobility of Sinks in Wireless Sensor Networks (무선 센서 네트워크에서 예측 가능한 싱크 이동성을 기반으로 한 데이타 전달 프로토콜)

  • Many dissemination protocols on the mobility support in wireless sensor networks have been designed based on the assumption that the movement trace of sinks, such as soldiers and fire fighters, is random. However, the mobility of the sinks in many applications, for example, the movement trace of a soldier on operation in a battle field, can be determined in advance. In this paper, we propose a Predictable Mobility-based Data Dissemination protocol that enables data to directly route from source nodes to moving sinks by taking into consideration predictable movement behavior of the sinks. We also show the superiority of the predictable mobility-based data dissemination protocol through the performance comparison with the random mobility-based data dissemination protocols.

  • In this paper, an omni wheel-based electric wheelchair is proposed that can achieve safe and convenient movement and can improve the convenience of living for mobility-impaired people who cannot move on their own. Generally, mobility-impaired people are afflicted with physical health issues such as pain and secondary body deformities because they often remain seated in wheelchairs for long periods of time. Hence, an electric wheelchair is required whose posture can be changed and whose size can be adjusted according to the user's body type. Such a wheelchair should also facilitate easy change of direction (even in a narrow space) for convenient movement. In this paper, an electric wheelchair featuring omni wheels is proposed that allows posture transformation and facilitates movement in a narrow space. It is believed that the proposed wheelchair can aid in enhancing the convenience of living for mobility-impaired people.

  • Human mobility estimation plays a key factor in a lot of promising applications including location-based recommendation systems, urban planning, and disease outbreak control. We study the human mobility estimation problem in the case where recent locations of a person-of-interest are unknown. Since matrix decomposition is used to perform latent semantic analysis of multi-dimensional data, we propose a human location estimation algorithm based on matrix factorization to reconstruct the human movement patterns through the use of information of persons with correlated movements. Specifically, the optimization problem which minimizes the difference between the reconstructed and actual movement data is first formulated. Then, the gradient descent algorithm is applied to adjust parameters which contribute to reconstructed mobility data. The experiment results show that the proposed framework can be used for the prediction of human location and achieves higher predictive accuracy than a baseline model.

  • In this paper, we define the multi-states exponential cell resident time mobility model for describing the mobility characteristics of mobile user and analyzed the total cost of the hybrid method using multi-states cell resident time. Generally, the mobile user has three states for its movement, such as staying, walking and driving. This multi-states cell resident time based hybrid method reflects the movement characteristics of mobile user and adapts the location update period according to the states of mobility speed. As a results of the performance analysis, we can get the optimum parameters of the hybrid method for multi-states based mobile users.

Comparison of Chest Mobility, Diaphragm Movement, and Lung Capacity Between With and Without Bras in a Healthy 20s Adult Women (건강한 20대 성인여성의 브래지어 착용 여부에 따른 흉곽 가동성과 가로막 움직임 및 폐활량에 대한 비교)

  • This study aims to compare chest mobility, diaphragm contraction, and lung capacity when wearing a bra and per breast size. The subjects of this study included 10 adult women who were attending Chungnam B University: 5 women who wear underwear size 75A (group A) and 5 who wear underwear size 85B (group B). The chest mobility using a tape measure, the diaphragm contraction using ultrasound, and the lung capacity was measured using a Pony FX before and after bra wear. The chest mobility and diaphragm contraction were significantly reduced when bras were worn in group A and B. Lung capacity was significantly decreased only in group A. There was no significant difference between the groups. This study suggests that women's bras can have a negative effect on diaphragm movement, chest mobility, and lung capacity.

Optimized Path Finding Algorithm for Walking Convenience of the People with Reduced Mobility (교통약자의 이동편의를 위한 최적경로 탐색 기법)

  • There has been growing social interest recently in the movement rights of people with reduced mobility. However, it simply eliminates the temporary inconvenience of walking of people with reduced mobility because it focuses only on supply of institutional facilities. Therefore, we look forward to improving movement welfare by proposing an optimized path finding algorithm for people with reduced mobility that takes into consideration physical elements affecting their movement, such as slope, steps etc. We selected Walking barrier factor by analyzing previous studies and calculated the relative importance of Walking barrier factors using an Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP). Next, through the fuzzy system, the Walking disturbance level of link, which integrates the weights of Walking barrier factors and the attributes of each link, is derived. Then, Walking path cost that takes into consideration the ‘length’ factors is calculated and an optimized path for people with reduced mobility is searched using Dijkstra’s Algorithm. Nineteen different paths were searched and we confirmed that the derived paths are meaningful in terms of improving the mobility of people with reduced mobility by conducting a field test. We look forward to improving movement welfare by providing a navigation service using the path finding algorithm proposed in this study.
