In this paper, we present a compact planar dual band rejection Ultra Wide Band(UWB) antenna with folded parasitic element. The proposed antenna is consist of a hexagonal planar radiation patch antenna with a folded parasitic element which is located over the top and bottom surface. In contrast with other antenna which rejects single band using one method, folded parasitic element rejects dual band using one simple structure. Owing to folded parasitic element, dual-rejected properties are achieved in the Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access(WiMAX), C-band, and Wireless Local Area Network(WLAN) bands. The bandwidth of the proposed antenna was measured as 3.1~10.6 GHz for voltage standing wave ratio(VSWR) less than 2, except for the dual rejection bands of 3.4~4.2 GHz and 5.15~6.00 GHz.

As the size of electric products such as mobile phones and smart watches decrease, the bolts used to assemble these products should also be miniaturized. A miniature-sized bolt has to provide sufficient joining torque and anti-releasing torque to keep the components together. We studied a serrated bolt as a candidate for a miniature-sized fastener to increase the anti-releasing torque. In a serrated bolt, a serrated shape is formed on the bottom surface of the bolt head to create an obstacle to releasing. In this study, finite element analyses for the joining and releasing of bolts were carried out, and the anti-releasing performance was predicted. Based on the results of analyses using various numbers of serrations and fastening depths, the effects of the number of serrations and fastening depth on the anti-releasing performance were investigated.

Aspheric glass lenses have many optical advantages, for glass have superior optical performance and an aspheric form can reduce optical aberrations. Recently, the use of it is rapidly expanding as the mass production becomes possible by glass molding press and so this method is considered as the best method for fabricating an aspheric glass lens, but it is difficult to control many parameters for pressing and cooling process. Design of experiments (DOE) is a very useful tool to design and analyze complicated industrial design problems. This study investigated the pressing conditions to mold aspheric glass lenses for mega pixel phone camera module using DOE method. We have applied fractional factorial design and the response variable was set form accuracy (PV) of aspheric surface of molded lens. The results of analysis indicates that all factors expect for pressing force of each step are available for the form accuracy (PV). It was the optimum condition of the designed pressing conditions for lowering the form accuracy(PV) value of molded lens that all factors were at the low level. The form accuracy (PV) of mold and molded lens under the optimum condition are $0.85\;{\mu}m$ and $0.922\;{\mu}m$ respectively.

Lithium-ion battery (LIB) is one of the most important rechargeable battery and portable energy storage for the electric digital devices. In particular, study about the higher energy capacity and longer cycle life is intensively studied because of applications in mobile electronics and electric vehicles. Generally, the LIB's capacity can be improved by replacing anode materials with high capacitance. The graphite, common anode materials, has a good cyclability but shows limitations of capacity (~374 mAh/g). On the contrary, silicon (Si) and germanium(Ge), which is same group elements, are promising candidate for high-performance LIB electrodes because it has a higher theoretical specific capacity. (Si:4200 mAh/g, Ge:1600 mAh/g) However, it is well known that Si volume change by 400% upon full lithiation (lithium insertion into Si), which result in a mechanical pulverization and poor capacity retention during cycling. Therefore, variety of nanostructure group IV elements, including nanoparticles, nanowires, and hollow nanospheres, can be promising solution about the critical issues associated with the large volume change. However, the fundamental research about correlation between the composition and structure for LIB anode is not studied yet. Herein, we successfully synthesized various structure of nanowire such as Si-Ge, Ge-Carbon and Si-graphene core-shell types and analyzed the properties of LIB. Nanowires (NWs) were grown on stainless steel substrates using Au catalyst via VLS (Vapor Liquid Solid) mechanism. And, core-shell NWs were grown by VS (Vapor-Solid) process on the surface of NWs. In order to characterize it, we used FE-SEM, HR-TEM, and Raman spectroscopy. We measured battery property of various nanostructures for checking the capacity and cyclability by cell-tester.
The NDVI (Normalized difference vegetation index) is used as indicators of crop growth situation in remote sensing. To measure or validate the NDVI, reliable NDVI sensors have been needed. We tested new fixed-field NDVI sensor, "SRS (Spectral Reflectance Sensor)" developed by Decagon Devices, during Kimchi cabbage growing season at the cultivation area located in Gochang, Gangneung and Taebaek in Korea from 2014 to 2015. The diurnal variation of NDVI measured by SRS (SRS NDVI) showed a slight ${\cap}$-profile shape and was affected by water on the sensor surface. This means that SRS NDVI around noontime is resonable, except rainy day. Comparisons were made between the SRS NDVI and NDVI of used widely mobile sensor (Cropcircle NDVI). The comparisons indicate that SRS NDVI are close to Cropcircle NDVI (R=0.99). SRS NDVI time series displayed change of the plant height and leaf width of Kimchi cabbage. An obvious exponential relationship is found between SRS NDVI and the plant height ($R^2{\geq}0.92$) and leaf width ($R^2{\geq}0.92$) of Kimchi cabbage. Thus, SRS NDVI will be used as indicator of crop growth situation and a very powerful tool for evaluation of remote sensing NDVI estimates and associated corrections.
Variations in the microstructure and mechanical properties of API X70 steel processed by piping, electrical resistance welding (ERW), and post seam annealing (PSA) are investigated in this study. In the welding zone, some elongated pearlites are formed and grains coarsening occurs due to extra heat caused by the ERW and PSA processes. After the piping, the base metal shows continuous yielding behavior and a decrease in yield and impact strengths because mobile dislocation and back stress are introduced during the piping process. On the other hand, the ERW and PSA processes additionally decreased the impact strength of welding zone at room and low temperatures because some elongated pearlites easily act as crack initiation site and coarse ferrite grains facilitate crack propagation. As a result, the fracture surface of the welding zone specimen tested at low temperature revealed mostly cleavage fracture unlike the base metal specimen.

It is necessary to dynamic recognition system with real time loading height and pressure of the loading waste, the drying of wood, batteries, and plastic wastes, which are representative compositional wastes, and the carbonization changes on the surface. The dynamic context awareness service constituted a platform based on Universal Middleware system using BCN convergence communication service as a Ambient SDK model. A context awareness system should be constructed to determine the cause of the fire based on the analysis data of fermentation heat point with natural ignition from the load waste. Furthermore, a real-time dynamic service platform that could be apply to the configuration of scenarios for each type from early warning fire should be built using Universal Middleware. Thus, this issue for Internet of Things realize recognition platform for analyzing low temperature fired fire possibility data should be dynamically configured and presented.

Background: Dental caries in preschool children can cause early loss of teeth, reduced masticatory function, malocclusion, and speech disorders, making oral care for preschool children essential. However, because children have a poor ability to perform oral hygiene by themselves, educational tools that help establish correct oral health behaviors are required. This study evaluated the effect of toothbrushing application for kids on dental plaque removal and toothbrushing interest in preschool children. Methods: Seven 5-year-old children enrolled in a daycare center participated in the evaluation, and the same children participated in the experiment twice a week. The Pokémon Smile application (App) was used as an auxiliary application for tooth brushing, and the degree of dental plaque removal on the tooth surface was evaluated by quantitative light-induced fluorescence-digital imaging. After the experiment, children's toothbrushing preferences were investigated through interviews. Results: The levels of AREA R30 and AREA R70 measured after the children's toothbrushing as usual decreased compared to those before toothbrushing; however, the change was not significant. The levels of AREA R30 and AREA R70 measured after using the Pokémon Smile App were significantly reduced compared to those before toothbrushing. Children's interest in brushing their teeth increased by 28.59% after using the Pokémon Smile App. Conclusion: The toothbrushing application for kids effectively removes dental plaque by helping preschool children brush their teeth. It also increased preschool children's interest in tooth brushing. Therefore, an oral health education application would be useful for children who need to develop correct oral care methods and habits.
This study was conducted to investigate the spatial distributions of chromated copper arsenate (CCA) metals in soils around three log structures and a sound barrier, all built with CCA-treated wood. Sixty-six surface and 35 profile soil samples were collected around the wood structures in addition to 13 background soil samples. The concentrations of chromium, copper, and arsenic in the soil samples collected in the vicinity of the structures were higher than those in the background samples, except in the case of one structure. The concentrations in the surface soils adjacent to the 3-year-old structures seemed to be higher than those in the soils adjacent to the 8-year-old ones. Although the lateral distributions of the metals varied with the structures, chromium and arsenic appeared to show concentration gradients within 20-60 cm and 40-100 cm, respectively. Copper seemed to be the least mobile, displaying concentration gradients only within 20 cm. Even though there were no explicit vertical concentration gradients for any of the metals according to the profile soil sample analysis, chromium and copper seemed to show concentration gradients only up to 5 and 10 cm, respectively, whereas arsenic showed gradients up to 35 cm. At study sites, it was evident that heavy metals leached into soil from CCA-treated wood were confined to neighboring areas both laterally and vertically, and that any plausible ecological impact may occur only within a small range.
High frequency dielectric ceramics have potential for applications in mobile and satellite communications systems at frequencies higher than 10GHz. The Ba$(Zn_{1/3}Ta_{2/3})O_3$ ceramics are known to have a high quality factor, a small temperature coefficient of the resonance frequency and a high dielectric constant. On the other hands, sintering at high temperature for extended time is required to obtain the ordered structure for high quality factor. In this study, the microwave dielectric properties of $ZrO_2$ and NiO-added Ba$(Zn_{1/3}Ta_{2/3})O_3$ ceramics prepared by solid-state reaction have been investigated. Adding $ZrO_2$ and NiO could effectively promote the densification even the case of decreasing the sintering time. At the surface of samples, secondary phase of Ba-Ta compounds was formed possibly due to the evaporation of ZnO, however, the interior of the samples remained as pure Ba$(Zn_{1/3}Ta_{2/3})O_3$. The samples sintered at $1600^{\circ}C$ for 2h exhibited 1:2 ordering of Zn and Ta cations. Excellent microwave dielectric properties of $Q{\cdot}f$(>96,000 GHz) and ${\varepsilon}_r$=30 has been obtained.
