Based on current practical needs for geo-spatial information on mobile platform, the main theme of this study is a design and implementation of dynamic 3D terrain rendering system using spaceborne imagery, as a kind of texture image for photo-realistic 3D scene generation on mobile environment. Image processing and 3D graphic techniques and algorithms, such as TIN-based vertex generation with regular spacing elevation data for generating 3D terrain surface, image tiling and image-vertex texturing in order to resolve limited resource of mobile devices, were applied and implemented by using graphic pipeline of OpenGL|ES (Embedded System) API. Through this implementation and its tested results with actual data sets of DEM and satellite imagery, we demonstrated the realizable possibility and adaptation of complex typed and large sized 3D geo-spatial information in mobile devices. This prototype system can be used to mobile 3D applications with DEM and satellite imagery in near future.
Recent advances in positioning and photogrammetry technologies have made it possible to build a mobile mapping system (MMS) that can obtain 3D coordinates of geographic objects from stereo images recorded from a moving vehicle. In this paper, we present a design and detailed implementation of an MMS called a 4S-Van. Furthermore, we present four issues that have made major contributions to the performance of an MMS: 1) CCD camera calibration, 2) GPS signal condition, 3) integrating a GPS, inertial navigation system (INS), distance measurement indicator (DMI), and CCD cameras, and 4) the orientation angle of CCD cameras. In the experimental results, the performance of an MMS was analyzed for each component, giving an idea of how to effectively design and integrate each component in developing an MMS to get a maximal accuracy of 3D coordinates.
In this paper, we compare the QoS performance enhancement schemes according to the network architecture of mobile WiMAX system in order to improve the end-to-end QoS performance and propose QoS parameter mapping method and IP packet scheduling algorithm. To evaluate the end-to-end QoS performance, we implemented an end-to-end simulator of mobile WiMAX system using OPNET. Simulation results show that the proposed QoS parameter mapping scheme reduces the average delay of VoIP packet and improves uplink resource efficiency. And also, when the proposed IP packet scheduling algorithm is applied to the system, the end-to-end packet transmission delay of VoIP service can be reduced by 44-67 percent compared to FIFO and WRR scheduler.

This paper proposes a novel method based on error back propagation neural networks to fuse laser sensor data and ultrasonic sensor data for enhancing the accuracy of mapping. For navigation of single robot, the robot has to know its initial position and accurate environment information around it. However, due to the inherent properties of sensors, each sensor has its own advantages and drawbacks. In our system, the robot equipped with seven ultrasonic sensors and a laser sensor navigates to map two different corridor environments. The experimental results show the effectiveness of the heterogeneous sensor fusion using an error backpropagation algorithm for mapping.
In these days, mobile application dealing with information contents on mobile or handheld devices such as mobile communicator, PDA or WAP device face the most important industrial needs. The motivation of this study is the design and implementation of mobile application using high resolution satellite imagery, large-sized image data set. Although major advantages of mobile devices are portability and mobility to users, limited system resources such as small-sized memory, slow CPU, low power and small screen size are the main obstacles to developers who should handle a large volume of geo-based 3D model. Related to this, the previous works have been concentrated on GIS-based location awareness services on mobile; however, the mobile 3D terrain model, which aims at this study, with the source data of DEM (Digital Elevation Model) and high resolution satellite imagery is not considered yet, in the other mobile systems. The main functions of 3D graphic processing or pixel pipeline in this prototype are implemented with OpenGL|ES (Embedded System) standard API (Application Programming Interface) released by Khronos group. In the developing stage, experiments to investigate optimal operation environment and good performance are carried out: TIN-based vertex generation with regular elevation data, image tiling, and image-vertex texturing, text processing of Unicode type and ASCII type.

Aircraft have a cross axis of the three each other for maintenance of aircraft position. It is called roll axis, pitch axis and yaw axis. Attitude reference system is a sensor for detecting a change of the three axis. In this paper, mobile robot platform install part of Pan-tilt and HMD attitude reference system, because of we use control camera. The acceleration sensor is very weak a lot of noise to vibration, also problem with data from process of mapping to the data problems to arise. However to solve this problem, we removed the average filter and Cosine Interpolation for Pan-tilt. Using capacity evaluation for outdoor environment for we are proposing. Mobile robot has HMD and equipped Pan-tilt. We control mobile robot camera. In this experiment result is little bit delay happening, however Pan-tilt camera is relatively stable control checking. Also, we will checking any terrain and slopes is no problem for mobile robot driving skills.

Recently, many WMS(Web Mapping Services) and POI(Point of Interest) service on to be in service on the Internet using Web CIS(Geographic Information System) as information Technology and computer HW are evolved faster in its speed, network bandwidth and features. The Web GIS is, however, limited and constrained on the specification of its system configuration, the service class provided and the presentation methodology of a map. As the mobile Internet becomes popular in mobile service, Web GIS service on mobile environment is strongly required and to be provided by LBS(Location Based Service) on a mobile client such as PDA with location information of the user. In this paper, we made an effort to design and implement a GIS computing environment by thin client for mobile web mapping service. For implementing the thin client GIS computing environment, we were using NGII's(National Geographic Information Institute's) DXF map, representing the map by SVG(Scalable Vector Graphics) recommended by OGC(OpenGis Consortium), and adapting standard XML web service to provide the thin client GIS service on PDA by applying the location information of the user in realtime with GPS on mobile environment.

In distributed mobile robot systems, autonomous robots accomplish complicated tasks through intelligent cooperation with each other. This paper presents behavior learning and online distributed evolution for cooperative behavior of a group of autonomous robots. Learning and evolution capabilities are essential for a group of autonomous robots to adapt to unstructured environments. Behavior learning finds an optimal state-action mapping of a robot for a given operating condition. In behavior learning, a Q-learning algorithm is modified to handle delayed rewards in the distributed robot systems. A group of robots implements cooperative behaviors through communication with other robots. Individual robots improve the state-action mapping through online evolution with the crossover operator based on the Q-values and their update frequencies. A cooperative material search problem demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed behavior learning and online distributed evolution method for implementing cooperative behavior of a group of autonomous mobile robots.
The paper compares Static GIS, Mobile GIS, Dynamic GIS and Moving GIS at first, then puts forward and discusses a description means of mobile objects, a model of spatial relation based on 9-intersection model and the query and analysis operations that Moving GIS should implement. On the above theory basis, the paper designs the function of Moving GIS and implements a prototype system named PNS-I on the basis of PDA, which has integrated GPS, GIS, GSM and GPRS.

Recently, governmental authority and local government are looking for a method of utilizing location information of smart phone for urgent rescue in fire and kidnap situation. Under this background, in this study, a method of rapidly collecting, constructing location determination based Wi-Fi AP data utilizing location information of smart phone and mobile mapping system was suggested in order to construct precise positioning information that could be utilized under urgent situation. By performing compensation work for GPS/INS/DMI through collected outcome, position of collected vehicle was acquired. In addition, source data integrating Wi-Fi information and collected position by coupling based on Wi-Fi AP collector and GPS time was constructed and Wi-Fi radiomap was constructed by removing Wi-Fi signal noise that reduces precise position performance. As a result of performing location determination performance assess ment by selecting 10 test positions by each local government, result value of 25.46cm for total local government average and 27.76m for SD could be obtained. It is considered that this result could be utilized as a technology of being able to supplement or substituting GPS location determination technology that is impossible in plocation determination of mobile communication company's base station (200m~2km) and indoor being used at present.
