관골궁 골절의 정복 시 술중 이동식 CT의 유용성 (Closed Reduction of Zygomatic Arch Fracture with Intraoperative Mobile Computed Tomography Scan)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to describe the usefulness of intraoperative mobile CT scans in the reduction of zygomatic arch fracture. Method: Two patients with zygomatic arch fractures were selected who were indications of closed reduction by Gilles' approach. After the reduction was done in the operating room with zygomatic arch elevator, intraoperative CT scan was done to check the extent of reduction. Additional reduction was performed according to the obtained images from the intraoperative mobile CT scan. Examination of the preoperative CT, intraoperative CT after the reduction, and postoperative plain X-ray films were done for documentation and analysis. Results: Reduction was carried out successfully to the patients without any complications. Both patients were satisfied with the postoperative cosmetic and functional outcome. Revisional surgery was not necessary during the 6 months follow up. Conclusion: The advantage of this method is that it is easier to obtain three dimensional relationships of the fracture site. Furthermore, the operator is less exposed to radiation hazards compared to other methods that obtain intraoperative images such as the C-arm. In conclusion, intraoperative mobile CT scan can be a useful surgical aid in the reduction of zygomatic arch fractures.

태양전지 봉지재용 에틸렌-프로펠렌 공중합체의 결정화 거동에 관한 연구 (Study on crystallization behavior of an ethylene-polypropylene copolymer based encapsulant for photovoltaic application)

  • 태양 전지에 사용되는 봉지재는 EVA (ethylene vinylacetate copolymer)가 주로 사용되고 있으나, 긴 경화시간 및 경화 시 사용되는 라디칼 개시제에 의한 열변성에 의한 문제점이 해결되지 않고 있다. 본 연구에서는 이 문제를 해결하기 위하여 에틸렌-프로필렌 공중합체를 봉지재로서 타당한가 조사하고자 하였다. 에틸렌/프로필렌 함량이 다른 다섯 종류의 시료를 대상으로 연구하였다. 시료들의 결정화 거동과 결정 구조를 관찰하기 위하여 시차주사열량계와 광각 x-선 회절 분석기를 사용하였다. 에틸렌의 함량이 높을수록 결정화도, 밀도 및 유리전이 온도 낮아지는 전형적인 결과를 보였다. 그러나 결정들의 용융 온도는 에틸렌 20.1 과 22.2 mol. % 인 경우가 제일 높은 특이한 결과를 보였는데 이는 중합 시 특수 촉매에 의한 블록 공중합체와 같은 구조 때문이었다. 이 때문에 에틸렌 함량이 제일 낮은 종류가 투명도가 높고 내열성이 우수하다는 것을 알 수 있었고 봉지재에 가장 적하는 결론을 내렸다. 또한 결정화 시간을 증가시킬수록 새로운 용융 피크가 생성되는 것을 볼 수 있었는데 이는 어닐링에 의해 새로운 결정 구조가 형성되기 때문인 것을 X선 회절 분석을 통하여 알 수 있었다.

CMP공정에 의한 실리케이트 산화막의 오염 최소화 (Minimum Pollution of Silicate Oxide in the CMP Process)

  • We have investigated the CMP slurry properties of silicate oxide thin films surface on CMP cleaning process. The metallic contaminations by CMP slurry were evaluated in four different oxide films, such as plasma enhanced tetra-ethyl-ortho-silicate glass(PE-TEOS), $O_3$ boro-phospho silicate giass( $O_3$-BPSG), PE-BPSG, and phospho-silicate glass(PSG). All films were polished with KOH-based slurry prior to entering the post-CMP cleaner. The Total X-Ray Fluorescence(TXRF) measurements showed that all oxide surfaces are heavily contaminated by potassium and calcium during polishing, which is due to a CMP slurry. The polished $O_3$-BPSG films presented higher potassium and calcium contaminations compared to PE-TEOS because of a mobile ions gettering ability of phosphorus. For PSG oxides, the slurry induced mobile ion contamination increased with an increase of phosphorus contents.

다이캐스팅 모바일 기기의 기공결함 감소를 위한 유동구조 설계 (A Gating System Design to Reduce the Gas Porosity for Die Casting Mobile Device)

  • Usually, the die-cast components used in small mobile devices require finishing processes, such as computer numerically controlled coating. In such cases, porosity is the most important defect. The shape of the molten aluminum that passes through the runner and gate in a mold is the one of the factors that influences gas porosity. To define the spurt index, which numerically indicates the shape of molten aluminum after the gate, Reynolds number and Ohnesorge number are used. Before die fabrication, computer-aided engineering analysis is performed to optimize the filling pattern. Finally, X-ray and surface inspection are performed after casting and machining to evaluate how the spurt index affects porosity and other product parameters. Based on the results obtained herein, a new gating system design process is suggested.

성인 척추질환자의 발균형 및 보행형태에 대한 운동역학적 분석 (Kinetic Analysis of Foot Balance and Gait Patterns in Patients with Adult Spinal Disease)

  • Objective: The aim of this study was to provide kinematic data on the characteristics of spinal disease patients by comparing and analyzing kinematic variables related to foot balance and gait pattern of spinal disease. Method: The subjects of the study included 40 adult men and 60 adult women who visited the hospital in Busan. Patients who were diagnosed with spinal disease by a physician through X-ray examination were selected as subjects for the diagnosis of vertebral disc herniation, spinal stenosis, spinal disease diagnosed with spinal disease and the general public. Left and right foot pressure and contact area were checked by Gaitview pro meter. X-ray photographs were taken with a Zen-2090 mobile fluoroscopy under physicians' direct participation. One-way ANOVA was performed to compare the differences between the kinematic variables and post-hoc was performed by the Duncan method. Results: The difference in contact area between the left foot and the right foot was $115.30{\pm}14.15cm^2$ in the left side and $124.25{\pm}13.65cm^2$ in the left side in the spinal disease patients. The difference in pressure between the left and right side of the spinal disease patients was wider than that of the general people. Especially, the right side of the spinal disease patients showed a larger area of left foot contact than the general population. Conclusion: Spinal disease patients have wider contact area of the left foot than those of the general population. In the case of right spinal disease, the left foot support area is widened due to pain. In the gait, women showed slightly more posterior body center than men, and the upper body muscle imbalance and immobilization due to the spinal disease caused imbalance of the muscles moving to the lower limb, It was analyzed to inhibit movement.

Electrochemical Characteristics of Synthesized Nb2O5-Li3VO4 Composites as Li Storage Materials

  • The increasing demand for energy storage in mobile electronic devices and electric vehicles has emphasized the importance of electrochemical energy storage devices such as Li-ion batteries (LIBs) and supercapacitors. For reversible Li storage, alternative anode materials are actively being developed. In this study, we designed and fabricated an Nb2O5-Li3VO4 composite for use as an anode material in LIBs and hybrid supercapacitors. Nb2O5 powders were dissolved into a solution and the precursors were precipitated onto Li3VO4 through a simple, low-temperature hydrothermal reaction. The annealing process yielded an Nb2O5-Li3VO4 composite that was characterized by X-ray diffraction, electron microscopy, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Electrochemical tests revealed that the Nb2O5-Li3VO4 composite electrode demonstrated increased capacities of approximately 350 and 140 mAh g-1 at 0.1 and 5 C, respectively, were maintained up to 1000 cycles. The reversible capacity and rate capability of the composite electrode were enhanced compared to those of pure Nb2O5-based electrodes. These results can be attributed to the microstructure design of the synthesized composite material.

An Image-guided Radiosurgery for the Treatment of Metastatic Bone Tumors using the CyberKnife Robotic System

  • Bone is a common site for metastatic spread from many kinds of malignancies. The morbidity associated with this metastatic spread can be significant, including severe pain. When it comes to spinal metastasis, occupying nearly 40% of skeletal metastases, the risks of complications, such as vertebral body collapse, nerve root impingement, or spinal cord compression, are also significant. Because of the necessity of preserving the integrity of the spinal column and the proximity of critical structures, surgical treatment has limitations when durable local control is desired. Radiotherapy, therefore, is often used as an adjunct treatment or as a sole treatment. A considerable limitation of standard radiotherapy is the reported recurrence rate or ineffective palliation of pain, either clinically or symptomatically. This may be due to limited radiation doses to tumor itself because of the proximity of critical structures. CyberKnife is an image-guided robotic radiosurgical system. The image guidance system includes a kilovoltage X-ray imaging source and amorphous silica detectors. The radiation delivery device is a mobile X-band linear accelerator (6 MV) mounted on a robotic arm. Highly conformal fields and hypofractionated radiotherapy schedules are increasingly being used as a means to achieve biologic dose escalation for body tumors. Therefore, we can give much higher doses to the targeted tumor volume with minimizing doses to the surrounding critical structures, resulting in more effective local control and less severe side effects, compared to conventional fractionated radiotherapy. A description of this technology and a review of clinical applications to bone metastases are detailed herein.

헬스케어 IoT: DNA 시계 (Healthcare IoT: DNA Watch)

  • This paper is the second part of the January 2018 issue of the Korean Society for Engineering Education, The "Equilibrium and Unbalance Analysis of Taegeuk Pattern DNA Matrix Codes," and is an extension of the paper published in the IoT Section of the 2017 Summer Conference in Jeju. In this paper, we have reviewed the history of what is life, and 5G Mobile communication: with IoT followed by recent research on influenza RNA gene mutation and DNA mutation variants, and the insights of Watson and Crick. Inspired by a single Franklin DNA X-ray diffraction photograph, they received the Nobel Prize for the Nature publication of DNA that has three patterns and regular repeatability. Professor MoonHo Lee has solved the three patterns in Diagonal, Left to Right, and Vertical matrices in a 2x2 matrix[CU; AG] and A = T = U = 30% C = G = 20%. We also proposed DNA Watch. This is the Healthcare IoT, which is seen by the DNA Watch on the wrist, the type of Tai Chi pattern of the body, and is immediately connected to the smartphone and delivered to the doctor.

  • 오늘날 원격 환경의 진료시스템이 개발되고 있는데, 이들 시스템은 미래의 원격진료 즉, 병원에 직접가지 않고 집에서 바로 혈압, 심박수 등을 검사 받을 수 있는 시스템 개발의 기본이 되고 있다. 그리고 정보통신의 발전으로 모바일 PC 즉, 개인 휴대용 단말기(PDA: Personal Digital Assistants)가 의료분야에서 PC를 대체하여 이동성, 편리성을 제공하는 전자 차트를 선보이고 있다. 그러나 PDA는 작은 몸체로 이동성 및 편리성 등이 PC보다 뛰어나지만, 해상도가 큰 이미지, 높은 처리 속도를 요구하는 작업등을 처리하기에는 효율성이 낮은 문제점이 있다. 또한 정보를 공유 할 수 있는 데이터를 무선 환경으로 처리해야 하기 때문에 환자와 관련된 의료 영상 즉, MRI 사진이나 X-ray 사진 등을 의료 환경에 이용하는 데는 보안의 문제점을 가지고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 매우 빠르게 발전하고 있는 진단과 치료기술을 이러한 의료를 필요로 하는 사랑들에게 제공하는 접근성의 보장 문제를 해결할 수 있는 대안으로 원격의료 인증시스템을 제안 하고자 한다.

Structure and Dynamics of Perfluoroalkanes and Their ${\beta}$-Cyclodextrin Inclusion Compounds Investigated by Solid-state $^{19}F$ MAS NMR

  • The molecular structure and dynamics of inclusion compounds (ICs) consisting of n-perfluoroalkane (PFA) guests and ${\Box}-cyclodextrin$ (${\Box}-CD$) host were investigated using $^{19}F$ magic angle spinning (MAS) and $^{1}H{\to}^{19}F$ cross polarization (CP) / MAS NMR spectroscopy with the aid of thermal analyses, FT-IR spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and $^{1}H{\to}^{19}F$ CP/MAS technique revealed that $C_{9}F_{20}$ molecules included in ${\Box}-CD$ undergo vigorous molecular motion and partly come out of the ${\Box}-CD$ channel above $80^{\circ}C$. In case of $C_{20}F_{42}/{\Box}-CD$, an exothermic peak is observed by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) at ca. $40^{\circ}C$ which suggests that ${\Box}-CD$ molecules become mobile and commence rearrangements that form more ordered structures at higher temperatures.
