The quality management for mobile internet voice services currently being used widely cannot be achieved by the conventional quality management depending on a specific measurement equipment. For more systematic quality management, a real-time or preventive quality management scheme is proposed. The proposed scheme required a quality management software installed in a service user's terminal. In order to implement and realize the proposed scheme, it is a very important issue to ensure the reliability of the measurement results from the developed quality management software. Therefore, we have performed a large number of tests to verify the reliability of the software and discuss on the results in this paper.

Owing to handset subsidies, large growth in the Korean mobile telephony subscribers has occurred. While most of firms create artificial switching costs by rewarding customers for repeated purchases to retain their customers, mobile telephone carriers discriminate against loyal customers through handset subsidies. This article examines the effect of switching cost on the prices and profits in a two-period, differentiated product duopoly model.

Wireless Internet access shows an early-stage market that is entering a period of strong and sustained growth., reaching almost $40 billion in combined related equipment services by 2008 with equipment and services of nearly equal proportion. This explosive development is possible due to the continued growth of two of the most successful markets in history, the internet and mobile telephony. The number of global wireless internet users will incense from approximately 1.9million in 2001 to 1.3billion by 2006. Technological changes are the main factor in the emergence of what is being called the fourth generation of mobile communications.

본 논문은 인터넷 전화 (Internet Telephony)의 대표적 프로토콜인 SIP에 이동성을 제공하기 위한 방안에 대한 연구이다. 이를 위해 가장 쉽고 계층화된 방법은 IP (네트워크) 계층에서 이동성을 지원하는 mobile IP를 사용하여 상위 계층에 투명한 핸드오프를 제공하도록 하는 것이다. 그러나 기존 연구들은 mobile IP가 아직 보편화되지 않았고 삼각 라우팅 (triangular routing) 지연 및 캡슐화 오버헤드와 같은 단점을 이유로 SIP 자체를 확장하는 방법을 제안해 왔다. 그러나 이 방법은 향후 all IP 추세와 함께 mobile IP가 지원되면서 그 의미를 상실하게 될 것이고 어떤 방법으로도 조화를 이룰 필요성이 대두된다. 또한 SIP 자체의 확장을 통한 이동성 지원은 해당 응용에만 적용되는 것으로 인터넷의 근본적 이동성 제공과는 독립한다. 우리는 본 연구를 통해 mobile IP 기반의 SIP 환경을 구축하고 다양한 실험을 통해 그 가능성을 보인다. 또한 mobile IP 망의 효율적인 관리에 적합한 패킷 당 오디오 프레임 수를 제시한다.

WCDMA 의 등장으로 영상통화를 지원하는 휴대폰의 보급은 빠르게 확산되고 있다. 하지만 예상과 달리 사용자들의 실제 영상통화 이용율은 그리 활성화 되지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구자들은 이러한 현상이 나타나게 된 원인이 영상통화 기능이 단순한 통화기능으로만 활용될 뿐 그 실질적 효용성이 높지 못하기 때문이라 판단하여, 영상 통화를 활성화 시킬 수 있는 방안에 대한 연구를 진행하였다. 오늘날 IT 기반의 서비스 중에 매우 활성화 된 것이 쇼핑 관련 서비스이다. 무선 인터넷과 모바일 환경에서 금융과 통신의 융합이 사회적 화두로 떠오르고, 이러한 이유로 영상통화 기능을 쇼핑과 연계한다면 그 효용성이 매우 커질 것으로 판단하였다. 그리하여 본 연구에서는 사용자 행태 조사을 통해 그들의 needs 를 범주화하고 분석하여 영상통화 쇼핑 서비스 어플리케이션을 도출하였다. 그리고 도출된 어플리케이션의 세부적 절차와 원활한 인터페이스의 설계를 위해 시나리오 형식으로 개방하여 그 형태를 구체화시키고자 하였다.

Since the opening of the mobile telecommunications market to new entrants in 1996, the mobile telecommunications industry in Korea has transformed into a severely competitive market. Although there are numerous methods to evaluate the effects of the competition policy, the most relevant would be to measure the decreased degree of mobile service tariff. Also, after the Introduction of competition in the market, most carriers launched a variety of new tariff plans, which would satisfy the users′ traffic volume and pattern. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a "mobile tariff index" that would collectively consider all the various tariff plans. This paper aims to develop a mobile tariff Index that would accommodate all the various tariff plans provided by mobile carriers. To develop this mobile tariff index, mobile user′s will first be classified by their traffic volume, and then calculate the average tariffs per minute of each group of users, and lastly weight-average those tariffs per minute. And finally, this paper shows the mobile tariff index by considering those averaged tariffs and the carriers′ market shares to reflect the contribution of individual carriers and the users′ traffic volume.

본 논문은 무선 에플리케이션 프로토콜 Specification에서 제시하고 있는 WTA(Wireless Telephony Application) 를 기초로 네트워크에서 발생한 실시간 Event를 처리할 수 있는 모바일 클라이언트 및 WTA서버에 대한 설계와 구현에 대해서 기술한다. 또한 네트워크 이벤트 및 사용자가 발생시킨 이벤트를 디바이스에 독립적으로 처리할 수 있는 WTA 라이브러리와 필요한 컨텐츠를 실시간으로 브라우징하기 위한 Repository 에 대해 기술한다. 전체적인 WTA 환경 구조는 크게 2개의 물리적 구조인 Mobile Client와 WTA Server로 구현되어있다. Mobile Client의 내부 모듈은 표준 WAE 사용자 에이전트(Standard WAE User Agent)의 확장인 WTA 사용자 에이전트 모듈(WTA User-Agent Module), 필요한 resource를 서버로 요청하고 저장하는 채널 인스톨 모듈(Channel Install Module), network로부터 발생한 Event를 처리하는 이벤트 핸들러 모듈(Event Handler Module), mobile network 기능들(e.g. setting up calls)과 device specific feature(e.g. manipulating the phonebook)를 다루는 WTA 스크립트 라이브러리(WTA Script Library), Phonebook 엑세스 모듈(Phonebook Access Module), 실시간으로 즉각 이벤트에 반응하기 위한 Repository로 구성되어있고, WTA Server는 Client가 요청한 Content(services)를 전달 해 주는 컨텐트 전달 모듈(Content Deliver Module)과 서버 Phonebook 엑세스 모들(Server Phonebook Access Module)로 구성되어 있다.

DGPS(Differential Global Positioning System) and RTK(Real time Kinematic) are in one of today's most widely used surveying techniques. However surveying with these techniques is restricted by the distance between reference and rover station, and it is difficult to process data in realtime by their own organizational limitation in precise measurement of positioning. To meet these new demands, in this paper, new DGPS and RTK correction data services through the Internet and PSTN(Public Switched Telephony Network) have been proposed. For this purpose, a DGPS and RTK error correction data transmission system is implemented for long-distance using the Internet and PSTN which allows a mobile user at which the rover receiver is located to receive the correction data from the reference in realtime, and analyzed and compared with DGPS and RTK performances by experiments through the Internet and PSTN for the distance and the time.

Traffic unbalance between uplink and downlink is one of the most notable characteristics in the next generation cellular mobile systems which provide multimedia services such as voice and video telephony, high-speed internet access, and mobile computing, etc. The CDMA/TDD system with unbalanced slot allocation between two links is a good solution for the traffic unbalance in this paper, we formulate the time slot and channel allocation problem for the CDMA/TDD systems in general multicell environments, which is to maximize the system capacity under the given traffic unbalance, and solve that problem by simulated annealing technique. Computational experiments show that the proposed scheme yields a good performance.

세계 이동 통신 시장은 점차 3G(세대)~3.5G(세대)로 전환되면서 세대 교체하고 있다. 3G 이동 통신의 대표 서비스인 화상전화는 음성통화와는 다른 새로운 커뮤니케이션이나 여러 가지 원인으로 일반화되지 않고 있는데, 그 원인 중 하나가 새로운 사용 경험과 사용 환경이 충분히 고려되지 않은 UI 라고 생각된다. 따라서, 본 조사에서는 한국, 일본, 영국, 이탈리아 등 4 개국을 대상으로 현재 출시된 화상전화 제품에 대하여 실사용자 FGI 와 설문, In-depth interview 등을 통해 사용자들의 화상전화 사용 경험을 조사하고, 조사를 통한 발견점을 통해 UI 설계 전문가 관점에서 향후 UI 에 대한 제안점을 찾아 보다 나은 화상전화 경험을 제공하기 위한 바탕으로 삼고자 한다.
