Designing efficient routing protocols for a wireless sensor network with mobile sinks (mWSN) is a challenging task since the network topology and data paths change frequently as sink nodes move. In this paper, we design a novel lightweight reactive ring based routing protocol called R3, which removes the need of proactively maintaining data paths to mobile sinks as they move in the network. To achieve high packet delivery ratio and low transmission cost, R3 combines ring based forwarding and trail based forwarding together. To support efficient ring based forwarding, we build a ring based structure for a network in a way such that each node in the network can easily obtain its ring ID and virtual angle information. For this purpose, we artificially create a virtual hole in the central area of the network and accordingly find a shortest cycled path enclosing the hole, which serves as base ring and is used for generating the remaining ring based structure. We accordingly present the detailed design description for R3, which only requires each node to keep very limited routing information. We derive the communication overhead by ring based forwarding. Extensive simulation results show that R3 can achieve high routing performance as compared with existing work.

In this paper, we propose a system in a large-scale environment, such as desert and ocean, that can reduce the overall transmission power consumption in mobile sensor network. It is known that the transmission power consumption in wireless sensor network is proportional to the square of transmission distance. Therefore, if the locations of mobile sensors are far from the sink node, the power consumption required for data transmission increases, leading to shortened operating time of the sensors. Hence, in this paper, we propose a system that can reduce the power consumption by allowing to transmit data only if the transmission range of the sensors is within a predetermined distance. Moreover, the energy efficiency of the overall sensor network can even be improved by reducing the number of data transmissions at the sink node to gateway based on compressed sensing. The proposed system is actually implemented using Arduino and Raspberry Pi and it is confirmed that source data can be approximately decoded even when the gateway received encoded data fewer than the required number of data from the sink node. The performance of the proposed system is analyzed in theory.
Sensor nodes in wireless network have several limitations such as lack of energy resource and network bandwidth. There are many researches to extend lifetime of sensor network and enhance availability. However, most of the previous researches didn't consider the mobile sink node. Those researches aren't suitable in the environment having mobile sinks. In this paper. we propose a scheme that reduces communication overheads and energy consumptions and improves reliability in routing path setup. Proposed scheme has excellent scalability without degrading performance in environment where many sink nodes exist and/or the network size is huge. Proposed scheme saves the energy consumption up to 70% in comparison with the previous grid-based and cluster-based protocol. As a result, proposed scheme increases the lifetime of sensor network and enhances availability of wireless sensor network.

Message ferry is a controllable mobile node with large capacity and rechargeable energy to collect information from the sensors to the sink in wireless sensor networks. In the existing works, route of the message ferry is often designed from the solutions of the Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP) and its variants. In such solutions, the ferry route is often a simple cycle, which starts from the sink, access all the sensors exactly once and moves back to the sink. In this paper, we consider a different case, where the ferry route is a closed walk that contains more than one simple cycle. This problem is defined as the Closed Walk Ferry Route Design (CWFRD) problem in this paper, which is an optimization problem aiming to minimize the average weighted delay. The CWFRD problem is proved to be NP-hard, and the Integer Linear Programming (ILP) formulation is given. Furthermore, a heuristic scheme, namely the Initialization-Split-Optimization (ISO) scheme is proposed to construct closed walk routes for the ferry. The experimental results show that the ISO algorithm proposed in this paper can effectively reduce the average weighted delay compared to the existing simple cycle based scheme.
With recent advances in sensor technology, CMOS-based semiconductor devices and networking protocol, the areas for application of wireless sensor networks greatly expanded and diversified. Such diversification of uses for wireless sensor networks creates a multitude of beneficial possibilities for several industries. In the application of wireless sensor networks for monitoring systems' data transmission process from the sensor node to the sink node, transmission through multi-hop paths have been used. Also mobile sink techniques have been applied. However, high energy costs, unbalanced energy consumption of nodes and time gaps between the measured data values and the actual value have created a need for advancement. Therefore, this thesis proposes a new model which alleviates these problems. To reduce the communication costs due to frequent data exchange, a State Prediction Model has been developed to predict the situation of the peripheral node using a geographic autocorrelation of sensor nodes constituting the wireless sensor networks. Also, a Risk Analysis Model has developed to quickly alert the monitoring system of any fatal abnormalities when they occur. Simulation results have shown, in the case of applying the State Prediction Model, errors were smaller than otherwise. When the Risk Analysis Model is applied, the data transfer latency was reduced. The results of this study are expected to be utilized in any efficient communication method for wireless sensor network monitoring systems where all nodes are able to identify their geographic location.

Location tracking system represents position by searching objects and humans. In this paper I would like to write about RF chip support Zigbee which is called CC2420. In simulated network circumstance, we can get the information about mobile-node by sending it to sink-node. Position finding is in error by 3m at outdoor environment. The error scale is acceptable within easy range of naked eyes. It can be overcome by using GPS information and Google maps with the wireless networking background.

Recently, as interest in IoT (Internet of Things) increase, research and standardization of a new protocol which reflects the characteristics of IoT has progressed. Among them, RPL(IPv6 for Low-Power Lossy Network) is a standardized routing protocol for IoT. RPL utilizes DIO (DODAG Information Object) messages which is flooded from the sink node to the whole network for path establish and maintenance. However, in large scale networks, not only a long time is required to propagate the DIO message to the whole networks but also a bottleneck effect around the sink node is occurred. Multi-sink based approaches which take advantage of reducing routing overhead and bottleneck effect are widely used to solve these problems. In this paper, we define 'unnecessary path update problems' that may arise when applying the RPL protocol to the multi sink based IoT networks and propose two methods namely Routing Metric based Path Update Decision method and Immediate Successor based Path Update Decision method for selective routing update.

In this paper, we propose a SInk-initiated geographic Multicast (SIM) protocol to reduce frequent location updates from mobile sinks to a source and to achieve fast multicast tree construction and data delivery. The proposed protocol allows sinks to construct their own data delivery paths to a source node and a multicast tree to be atomically constructed by merging the paths. Then, the source forwards data to the destinations down the multicast tree. This paper also propose a round-based virtual infrastructure with a radial shape for increasing the merging probability of data delivery paths and reducing reconstruction ratio of the multicast tree due to mobility of sinks. Simulation results show that the proposed protocol is superior to previous SOurce-initiated geographic Multicast (SOM) protocols in term of average data delivery delay and average energy consumption.

Routing in mobile wireless sensor networks (MWSNs) is an extremely challenging issue due to the features of MWSNs. In this paper, we present a novel bio-inspired trusted routing protocol (B-iTRP) based on artificial immune system (AIS), ant colony optimization (ACO) and Physarum optimization (PO). For trust mechanism, B-iTRP monitors neighbors' behavior in real time and then assesses neighbors' trusts based on AIS. For routing strategy, each node proactively finds routes to the Sink based on ACO. When a backward ant is on the way to return source, it senses the energy residual and trust value of each node on the discovered route, and calculates the link trust and link energy of the route. Moreover, B-iTRP also assesses the availability of route based on PO to maintain the route table. Simulation results show how B-iTRP can achieve the effective performance compared to existing state-of-the-art algorithms.

In this paper, we consider a classification criteria of sensor nodes based on equipment function, and propose a routing search algorithm between node when an IP-USN is applied inside a ship. whereas a tree-type routing algorithm is applied to the limited mobile enviroment, such as engine room or machine room, a mesh-type routing alogrithm is to free mobile enviroment, such as passager corridor liviing quarters or restanrats areas. For mesh-type routing, it is necessary to maintain a seamless route path between a sink node and sensor nodes for which we consider a novel message exchange periodically. We proposed a new message, RDES message, which is issued periodically to update the topology of sensor node and check a connectivity between nodes.
