  • Recently, the mobile telecommunication industry is increasing rapidly; nevertheless it is competing severely with other mobile telecommunication industries in the world and it is projected that in the future the mobile telecommunication industry will compete more fiercely and increase more rapidly. By means of looking into the relationship of the mobile product's characteristics and satisfaction, therefore, it can be said that it can help the companies which want to survive in such a competitive society. And then we investigated how these classified characteristics on mobile products could influence on customer satisfaction.

  • In mobile phone, complex user interface tend to cause the degradation of product usability. This problem is mainly due to the small hardware user interface of mobile phone. That is, because many functions must be operated in small hardware interface, the principle of one-to-one mapping between a function and a control is disregarded in design, often. In order to resolve this problem, users' characteristics must be considered in the user interface design of mobile phone. So, users' basic characteristics that must be considered in the user interface design of mobile phone were studied through two experiments, questionnaire survey and user testing.

Consumer Values Derived from Products by Consumers: Difference among the Four Types of Products Classified with Product Attributes and Visibility (소비자가 제품에서 추구하는 소비자가치: 제품 속성과 가시성에 따른 4가지 제품유형을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to understand consumer values derived from products by the contemporary consumers, as the meaning of a product is extended from the functional utilities to the mediums of fulfilling consumer values. Consumer values have been researched from the marketers' perspectives and, thus, the scales to measure consumer values tend to be too abstract and not always reflective of the consumers' perspectives. Holbrook's typology of consumer values is utilized and the products are classified into four groups according to the product characteristic of the utilitarian versus hedonic, and the consumption spaces of the indoor and outdoor. The findings are as follows. First, the values of efficiency, excellence, ethics, and spirituality are more likely derived from utilitarian products, while the value of play is more likely derived from the hedonic products. Second, the values of efficiency, excellence, and ethics are more likely derived from the indoor products, and values of playfulness, esthetics, status, and respect are more likely derived from the outdoor products. Third, the most frequently mentioned values are the efficiency, playfulness, and status. Fourth, the list of products answered as being representative for four types of products are short to include obvious products such as TV, mobile phone, computer, car, refrigerator, and MP3 player. Both the utilitarian and hedonic values are derived from TV, computer, and mobile phone, while the utilitarian value from refrigerator and car, and the hedonic value from MP3 player, digital camera, and game consoles. The results imply that consumer values should be carefully understood and reflected in developing new products in order to successfully fulfill consumers' underlying needs and requirements.

  • There are various types of PLM(product liability management) according to corporation management level. It is necessary to develop diagnostic methods and application systems for PLM as well as to establish an efficient PLM system. This paper aims to propose a PLM system which can be applied to product with high-reliability and high-safety, and diagnostic methods for PLM based on AHP, and also show an empirical application of the proposed PL management system for Auto Test Robot System of the Mobile Phone (EVT 4320).

Use Intention of Mobile Fingerprint Payment between UTAUT and DOI in China

  • Purpose - With the rapid growth of Chinese mobile pay market, it's necessary to run a study of the aims why users prefer to intention of use for mobile fingerprint payment. To reach this goal, UTAUT added Perceived Security and DOI. Research design, data, and methodology - The researchers conducted this study by using collected 3126 responses and the collected data was analyzed by applying statistical techniques factor analysis, AMOS, and Cronbach's Alpha and SPSS 22.0. Results - The result shows that compatibility and relative advantage of mobile fingerprint payment have positive effect on performance expectancy and effort expectancy separately, and the performance expectancy and effort expectancy have positive effect on people's use intention of mobile fingerprint payment. Social influence has a positive effect on the users' use intention of mobile fingerprint payment, Facilitating conditions has a slight effect on the users' use intention of mobile fingerprint payment, Perceived security has the most significant effect on he users' use intention of mobile fingerprint payment. Conclusions - The research showed that compatibility is one of the most important elements that make users continue to use the product. The mobile fingerprint payment must own clearer advantages than other ones that it can reach the biggest market. The Social Influence has a positive influence on the intention of use.

  • Korean government has recently abrogated WIPI policy to open domestic mobile phone market to the world, which may result in the influx of foreign smart phones. This circumstance has given users more wide range of choices to buy a product and also has brought benefit to buy mobile phone cheaply. On the other hands, this change might have brought potential danger of mobile malware incidents which have only occurred in foreign countries. There are standardized analysis methods and response guides for computer malwares, not but for mobile malwares in our country. In this paper, we introduce existing mobile malwares and available tools for their analysis. Considering domestic circumstances which might not be properly protected against mobile malwares, we propose analysis methods and response guide of mobile malwares.

  • The development of ICT technology has created new channels for product sales and promotion, which not only make information accessible to customers as easy as possible, but also provide consumers with much more absolute and comparative information. Modern consumers are exposed so many shopping channels currently, especially mobile-based channels have grown significantly and have become the center of the market. It is true that mobile shopping has led the growth of overall online shopping with the recent development of mobile devices such as smartphones and related software. The importance of strengthening corporate competitiveness and mobile-based management strategies through on line channels continues to increase. At this point, this study attempted to investigate the influencing factors by focusing on the entire distribution channel and mobile shopping channels. As most of previous studies were focused on Internet shopping malls or specific channels, So the research on mobile channels can be judged to be timely and appropriate. Furthermore, it can be said that mobile shopping channels are now presenting empirical implications. In conclusion, it provides practical implications to examine the management strategy of mobile shopping channels from the perspective of consumer value.

Diagnosticity of Product Names and Product Evaluations in M-Shopping

  • With the limited product information available in the m-shopping context, product-naming strategies affect consumer choices by expressing the key product features or the brand's images. Given the increasing dominance of the mobile commerce in consumption across various product categories, few studies have examined the role of product naming in consumer choices in the m-shopping. In filling the research gap, this study empirically analyzes the influence of the perceived diagnosticity of product names in m-shopping on consumer attitude towards the product. Moreover, the study tests the moderating influences of the individual characteristics of consumers (i.e., age, gender, and m-shopping experience) in the dynamics of the perceived diagnosticity impacting the product evaluations. The results of the study using an online survey reveal that the perceived diagnosticity of the product names significantly increases consumer attitude towards the product. Additionally, the moderating effects of gender, age, and m-shopping experience are all found significant: (1) The positive influence of the perceived diagnosticity of the product names is greater for males than for females. (2) The older the respondent, the more statistically significant the positive influence on diagnosticity. (3) The more respondents having m-shopping experience, the more positive the impact of the diagnosticity. Implications and limitations of the study are discussed.

  • Product usability consists of many attributes such as learnability, efficiency, memorability, and so on. In particular, learnability is one of the most important attributes in product usability. Therefore, many people consider the primary criterion for a good user interface to be the degree to which it is easy to learn. Learnability represents the degree of how much can easily learn the usage of a product. It concerns the features of the interactive system that allow novice users to understand how to use it initially and then how to attain a maximal level of performance. In this study, we studied on the application of learning curve to evaluate product learnability. In order to validate the applicability, we carried out simple experiment using mobile phone. We got task completion times through the experiment and predicted the times using learning curve model. And then, we compared prediction times to task completion times. Finally, we identified that learning curve could apply to predict and compare product learnability.
