The speed and magnitude of mobile phone adoption is a recent worldwide phenomenon akin to those of the television in the middle of the 20th century and the Internet in the late 20th century. During the 2000s, mobile phone adoption was exploded and subscriptions reached 3 billion around the globe. Korea and Japan have been ahead of the rest of the world in introducing new handset and service capabilities. They were the first markets to launch 3G services and are currently the only markets to have achieved mainstream adoption of 3G with over one-third of customers in both markets subscribing to 3G services. The purpose of this article is to explore the cultural similarities and differences associated with mobile mail by presenting findings from a cross-cultural comparison of perceptions and uses of the technology. The results of the study are as follows：Of the characteristics that make up the mobile text-messaging service in Korea, a person's perceived ease of use and perceived enjoyment was found to have a positive effect on use attitude. Among the characteristics that make up a person's perceived ease of use, perceived enjoyment was found to have a positive effect on use intention. And use attitude was found to have positive effects on use intention. But, of the characteristics that make up the mobile text-messaging service in Japan, a person's perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use and perceived enjoyment were found to have a positive effect on use attitude. Among the characteristics that make up a person's perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use and perceived enjoyment were found to have a positive effect on use intention. And use attitude was found to have positive effects on use intention. This study contributes to telecommunications research by delineating the various stimuli to consider for successful technology acceptance in a global setting, which can account for differential impacts across regions. The findings of this study can assist telecommunications operators in formulating an effective region-specific strategy when launching a wireless data service in a particular environment.

인터넷 사용자의 증가로 전자 메일은 여러 형태의 미디어를 지원하게 되었고, 멀티미디어 데이터를 포함한 전자 메일의 크기는 점점 더 커지고 있다. 더욱이, 이러한 멀티미디어 전자 메일은 모바일 장치들을 포함한 여러 통신 단말을 통해서 이용되어지고 있다. 본 논문의 주된 목적은 메일 서버의 저장 용량과 사용자 처리 측면에서 고성능과 확장성을 제공하는 효과적인 메일 서버를 설계하고 구현하는데 있다. 따라서 본 논문은 외부에서 들어오는 메일 메시지를 IP 주소 포워딩을 이용해 여러 메일 서버 노드로 분산하는 부하분산-노드를 가진 클러스터 기반의 메일 서버 구조를 제안한다.

장소와 시간에 관계없이 언제든 네트워크에 접속해 컴퓨팅할 수 있는 유비쿼터스 환경은 디지털 기술의 발전으로 이제 전문가 영역에서 생활 현장으로까지 퍼져나가고 있다. 본 논문에서는 언제 어디서나 멀리 떨어진 곳에서도 휴대폰을 통해 내 PC를 제어할 수 있는 모바일 PC 원격 제어 시스템 구현을 목표로 한다. 특히, 대표적인 PC 원격 제어 기능 중 하나인 메일 전송 기능을 설계하고 구현함으로써 휴대폰을 통해 내 PC에 접속하여 원하는 파일이 첨부된 메일을 전송할 수 있도록 하였다. 클라이언트 모듈은 WIPI Jlet으로 구현하였으며 KTF 휴대폰에서 동작하도록 개발하였고, 서버 모듈은 J2SE 환경에서 개발함으로써 서버 운영체제와 무관하게 실행될 수 있도록 하였다. 동작 실험을 통해 본 논문에서 개발한 PC 원격 제어 소프트웨어가 올바로 동작함을 확인하였으며, 본 논문에서 개발한 소스 코드를 공개함으로써 향후 이메일 전송 이외의 PC 기능들이 모바일 에이전트 형태로 구현될 수 있는 발판을 마련한다는 것이 본 논문이 기여하는 바라 할 것이다.

The mobile agent paradigm can be exploited in a variety of ways, ranging from low-level system administration tasks to middle ware to user-level applications. Mobile agents can be useful in building middle-ware services such as active mail systems, distributed collaboration systems, etc. An active mail message is a program that interacts with its recipient using a multimedia interface, and adapts the interaction session based on the recipient's responses. The mobile agent paradigm is well suitable to this type of application, since it can carry a sender-defined session protocol along with the multimedia message. Mobile agent communication is possible via method invocation on virtual references. Agents can make synchronous, one-way, or future-reply type invocations. Multicasting is possible, since agents can be aggregated hierarchically into groups. A simple check-pointing facility has also been implemented. Another proposed solution is to use multi agent computer systems to access, filter, evaluate, and integrate this information. We will present the overall architectural framework, our agent design commitments, and agent architecture to enable the above characteristics. Besides, the each information needed a mobile agent system such as text, graphic, image, audio and video etc, constructed a great capacity multimedia database system. However, they have problems in establishing connections over multiple subnetworks, such as no end-to-end connections, transmission delay due to ATM address resolution, no QoS protocols. We propose a new connection management scheme in the thesis to improve the connection management involved of mobile agent systems.

대부분의 웹 메일 서비스는 SMTP와 POP3을 이용하여 구현된다. 이런 웹 메일 서비스는 기본적인 송수신 기능뿐만 아니라, 여러 가지 부가적인 기능을 사용자들에게 제공한다. 하지만 메일 송수신 데이터는 그것을 관리하는 서버에 저장되기 때문에, 이 서버에 대한 접속 권한이 없는 일반 웹 메일 사용자는 자신의 메일 데이터를 가공할 수가 없다. 본 논문에서는 XML을 이용한 웹 메일 통합 시스템을 구현하였다. 제안된 시스템에서는 기존의 웹 메일 시스템에 저장된 메일 데이터와 사용자 환경을 B%문서로 변환하고 데이터베이스에 삽입한다. in 데이터를 데이터베이스에 저장하기 위해 XML을 이용한 동적인 문서처리 방법을 사용하고 변환된 XML파일을 레코드 단위로 분석한다. 제안된 시스템은 사용자가 자신의 메일 계정을 변경할 경우에, 구축된 데이터베이스를 이용하여 자신의 메일 데이터와 환경 설정을 쉽게 할 수 있도록 한다. 변환된 XML 문서는 무선인터넷 마크업 언어인 WML(Wireless Markup Language)로도 쉽게 변환 가능하여 모바일(Mobile)서비스를 지원하는 경우, 재구축으로 인한 시간과 경비의 낭비와 개발자의 수고를 덜 수 있다

현재 모바일 기술이 발달함에 따라 휴대폰을 이용한 인터넷 사용이 크게 증가하고 있다. 대부분의 휴대폰 사용자의 인터넷 사용은 아바타 및 게임 컨텐츠가 주를 이루고 있다. 본 논문에서는 아바타 및 사용자 정보 관리를 위한 DB 모듈 과 메일 관리 모듈을 구현한 서버와 아바타 이미지를 애니메이션으로 재구성하여 메일 내용을 보여주는 클라이언트 모듈을 설계 하여 클라이언트의 부하를 줄이게 하였다. 휴대폰의 그래픽 및 CPU, 메모리 하드웨어 성능의 한계 때문에 본 논문에서 제시한 방식이 앞으로 많이 사용될 것으로 기대 되며 SK-VM 기반의 Application에 애니메이션 아바타와 I-Mail을 적응시킴으로써 기존에 아바타 서비스가 아닌 새로운 방향으로 아바타를 접목시킨 서비스를 할 수 있다.

2004년도 11월에 전국의 850명의 대학생의 사이버 커뮤니케이션의 이용 특성을 분석하여 이러닝 환경 구축에 관한 제언을 하였다. 학생들은 사이버 커뮤니케이션 방법 중 휴대폰 문자보내기, 인터넷 메신저 사용하기, 블로그나 미니홈피 사용하기, 이메일 보내기의 순으로 사용을 선호하였다. 57.5%의 대학생이 이메일을 사용하지 않았으며, 특히 남학생(61.9%)과 어린 학생일수록(69.4%) 그런 경향이 두드러졌다. 블로그를 소유한 사람의 비율은 74%인데, 연령이 어릴수록 많았다. 이메일의 사용은 줄고, 이동성, 동시성 접속성과 사용의 용이성이 있는 저렴한 가격의 매체의 사용이 늘고 있다. 이러닝을 위한 제언은 1) 이메일의 대체 매체를 적극 활용, 2) 접속성의 제공, 3) 동시성/즉각성의 제공, 4) 휴대폰, 블로그, 미니홈피와 같은 매체를 적극적으로 교육에 활용, 5) 텍스트정보의 멀티미디어화이다.

전자 메일(e-mail)은 현대인의 삶에서 매우 보편적으로 사용되고 있으며, 또한 비즈니스 측면에서도 필수적인 통신도구가 되고 있다. 현대 사회의 인프라가 온라인 환경으로 이동함에 따라서 전통적인 면대면(face-to-face)방식에서 예기치 못한 문제가 발생하고 있다. 하지만, 인터넷은 전자적 정보에 대한 안전하고, 공정한 교환(fair-exchange)과 같은 비즈니스 통신 모델에서 요구되는 서비스를 제공하지 못한다 본 논문에서는 기존의 보안 메일 기술인 S/MIME, PGP와는 차별화된 기술로서, 전달 메시지의 암호화는 물론 송·수신자 사이의 공정한 교환을 보장하는 Certified E-mail 시스템을 제안하고자 한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 방안은 셀룰러 폰이나 PDA 사용자 단말기의 공개키 암호 알고리즘 연산에 따른 오버헤드를 최소화하도록 설계되었다.

이메일 시스템에서 전방향 안전성(forward secrecy)이란, 메일 사용자와 메일 서버가 장기간 사용하는 비밀키(long-term key)가 노출되더라도 이전 세션들에서 전송된 이메일 메시지의 기밀성(confidentiality)이 보장되는 것을 말한다. 기존 전방향 안전성을 지원하는 이메일 프로토콜들에서는 사용자의 공개키를 사용하기 때문에 공개키에 대한 인증을 위해서는 공개키 기반구조(PKI, Public Key Infrastructure)의 구축이 반드시 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 PKI의 구축이 필요 없이, 사용자의 메일 계정의 패스워드만을 이용하는 전방향 안전성을 보장하는 패스워드 기반의 이메일 프로토콜을 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 패스워드 기반의 이메일 프로토콜은 인증된 공개키가 필요 없으므로 제한된 자원의 모바일 환경 등에 적합하다.

Fixed-mobile convergence services can be defined as the combination of previously separate fixed and mobile services, and networks and commercial practices. Examples of fixed-mobile convergence services include single voice-mail box, single number and unified messaging across fixed and mobile networks. Recently as more voice is transferred to mobile networks, convergence services between fixed and mobile become more important. In Korea convergence services are only starting to become established, and are likely to become an important part of any operator's offering. In this paper, we search the different levels of fixed-mobile convergence services and the trends and regulations for fixed-mobile convergence services in major countries. And at the same time, we also suggest the corresponding Marketing strategies by operators related to fixed-mobile convergence services.
