전국망 규모의 망 설계 및 QoS가 적용된 Mobile-WiMAX 시스템과 54Mbps의 광대역 서비 스가 가능한 WLAN 시스템으로 구성된 계층적 네트워크는 VoIP, VOD, 화상전화 등과 같은 실시간 서비스를 포함한 다양한 무선 인터넷 서비스를 제공한다. 그러나 실시간 서비스를 이용하는 사용자가 Mobile-WiMAX/WLAN 계층적 네트워크에서 핸드오프를 수행할 경우, 특히 Mobile-WiMAX 네트워크에서 WLAN 핫스팟 지역으로 핸드오프를 할 경우 핸드오프 지연으로 인해 사용 중인 서비스가 끊기게 된다. 본 연구는 Mobile-WiMAX(IEEE 802.16e) 규격에서 제시된 서비스 종류(ToS) 파라미터를 이용하여 vertical 핸드오프 수행 기준이 되는 vertical 핸드오프 프로세스를 제안한다. 이 프로세스를 이용하면 실시간 서비스를 사용 중인 사용자는 핸드오프 수행을 일정시간 지연하므로 실시간 서비스의 끊기는 불편함을 해소할 수 있다. 본 논문에서 제안한 프로세스를 이용할 경우 Mobile-WiMAX/WLAN 계층적 네트워크에서 vertical 핸드오프 수행 중의 실시간 서비스 이용에 제한이 없어진다. 이는 사용자 편의 중심의 서비스를 실현할 수 있게 될 것이다.

본 논문에서는 무선 인터넷 환경에서 CHAP 인증 기법을 이용한 로밍 서비스 지원 방법을 기술한다. 이를 위해 특별히 GPRS 망으로 이동한 이동 ISP 망 가입자가 자신의 홈 ISP 망을 접속하여 인증을 받기 위한 기법을 제시한다 또 이동 ISP 망 가입자의 단말에서 정의되어야 할 인증 메시지 구조와 GPRS 망 게이트웨이에서 구현될 메시지 구조를 제시한다. 아울러 GGSN과 ISP 망간의 인증 메시지 구조를 정의하며 이들 제안된 내용에 대해 시험 환경 구축을 통해 실제 시뮬레이션 결과를 보였다.

최근 급속도로 보급되고 있는 스마트폰과 SNS(Social Network Service)로 인한 인터넷 응용프로그램 활용의 증가는 3G 네트워크 이상의 네트워크 대역폭을 빠르게 잠식해가고 있으며 이로 인한 속도 저하와 서비스 질 저하로 인한 기간통신사들의 시설투자비 증가 요구가 강하게 대두되고 있다. 아울러 모바일 네트워크 사용자의 폭증에 따르는 모바일 서비스 제공자와 모바일 네트워크상의 ID관리문제를 촉발하고 있다. 본 논문은 3G 네트워크에서 모바일 인터넷 응용 서비스상의 사용자 ID관리와 보안문제를 해결하기 위한 프로토콜로 제안된 IDM3G[1]를 기반으로 보다 향상된 인증관리 프로토콜을 제안한다. 제안하는 $I^2DM$ 프로토콜은 기존의 IDM3G 프로토콜이 MO를 통한 상호 인증을 수행하면서 발생시키는 부하를 모바일 인터넷 응용 서비스 제공자에게 일정 부분의 역할을 분산시킴으로써 모바일 및 서비스 제공자의 ID관리와 함께 네트워크 부하와 정보처리를 위한 프로세스 부하 그리고 송수신되는 패킷의 수를 보다 효율화한다. 향후 더욱 그 수요가 폭증할 것으로 예상되는 3G 이후의 모바일 네트워크에 대한 수요를 대비하여 보다 최적화된 프로토콜을 제안한다.

In this paper, I analyze the mobile broadband services market characterized by vertical and horizontal differentiation. Vertical differentiation as service quality differentiation is based on the transmission speed of mobile internet service and horizontal differentiation as spatial differentiation is based on the service coverage. Theoretical explanations for the competitive price policy have been developed in the game context of WiBro which represent the high quality within the limited service coverage and HSDPA which represent relatively low quality with nation-wide service. When the WiBro has a mobile broadband service quality advantage and the difference in quality is sufficiently low, the price of WiBro with limited service coverage is relatively lower than that of HSDPA. This occurs because the advantage of WiBro's vertical service differentiation is offset by the disadvantage of horizontal differentiation. The difference in the quality of mobile internet service, however, is not too high, the price of WiBro is relatively higher than that of HSDPA. Moreover, when the service quality of WiBro is sufficiently high, the low quality HSDPA service faces no demand.

스마트폰의 등장으로 모바일 인터넷 전화 서비스의 보급이 활발하게 이루어지고 있는데 반하여 이의 품질 관리 체계에 대한 대비는 상대적으로 미흡한 상황이다. 향후 모바일 인터넷 전화 서비스가 성공적으로 정착되어 활성화되기 위해서는 철저한 품질 관리가 요구되는데 전통적인 계측기를 이용하는 방법으로는 실시간 모니터링이 불가능함으로 인한 여러 가지 한계점이 발생할 수 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 모바일 인터넷 전화의 예방적인 서비스 품질 관리 체계를 제안하고 이의 구현을 위한 소프트웨어를 개발하였다. 상용 소프트웨어와의 비교를 통한 개발된 소프트웨어의 검증을 위한 시험 절차가 진행되었고 시험 결과 개발된 소프트웨어의 측정 결과가 상당히 신뢰할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

현재 이동통신 시장은 과거 음성통화 위주의 서비스 시장과는 달리 다양한 서비스 제공 및 사용을 기반으로 한 통신 산업의 질적 팽창기로 여겨지고 있다. 특히 3세대 서비스가 시작된 2007년 이후, 각 이동통신 사업자들은 영상통화를 시작으로 다양한 이동통신 서비스를 고객에게 제공하기 시작하였고 휴대전화 기술 역시 기술의 발전에 힘입어 디지털 융합(digital convergence) 기기로 변화된 양상이다. 이러한 상황에서, LG 텔레콤이 최초로 서비스를 시작한 풀브라우징(full browsing) 서비스가 3세대 (3G) 핵심 서비스로 주목 받고 있다. 풀브라우징 서비스란, 휴대전화를 통해 컴퓨터와 동일한 형태의 인터넷 환경을 사용 가능하게 하는 서비스로, 기존 월드가든(walled garden) 형태의 데이터 서비스의 개념을 뛰어 넘는 개방형 모바일 인터넷 서비스를 지향한다. 이와 같은 개방형 네트워크 서비스 환경에서의 기업 간의 경쟁 양상과 경쟁에 영향을 줄 수 있는 요인을 분석하는 것은 추후 이동통신 시장의 향방 및 개별 기업의 전략 수립에 매우 중요한 축이 될 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 첫째, 급변하고 있는 이동통신 서비스 시장에서의 풀브라우징 서비스의 시장 현황 및 걸림돌, 성장 가능성 등을 정성적으로 예측하였다. 둘째, 풀브라우징 서비스 선발자(first mover)로서의 LG 텔레콤과 후발자(follower)로서의 KTF, SK 텔레콤이 갖는 경쟁에 있어서의 장단점이 기존 이동통신 시장에서 나타났던 장단점과 어떻게 다르게 나타나는지 확인한 후, 이를 통해 기업 간 경쟁의 향방을 예상해 보았다.

최근 정보통신기술의 발전으로 한정된 장소에서만 볼 수 있는 기존의 TV 서비스와는 달리 DMB 기술을 통해 이동하면서 언제 어디서나 TV를 즐길 수 있을 정도의 기술이 개발 되었다. 이러한 이동식 TV 서비스의 최신 기술인 Mobile IPTV 서비스의 기반이 되는 IPTV 기술에 대해 살펴보고 IPTV 기술의 장점인 양방향 서비스와 DMB 기술의 장점인 이동성을 결합시켜 언제 어디서나 양방향 TV 서비스를 받을 수 있는 기술인 Mobile IPTV 서비스에 대해 소개하고자 한다. 또한 Mobile IPTV의 문제점, Mobile IPTV의 추진현황 (서비스), Mobile IPTV 향후 방향에 대해 분석하고자 한다. 마지막으로 새롭게 제안된 고속의 중복주소 검사를 통하여 무선 환경에서 IPTV 서비스 단절을 최소화 시키는 방법을 설명한다.

The data generated by the BSN sensor attached to the human body is mostly mobile. Accordingly, in a mobile cloud environment that processes BSN data, the service should not be fixed in a specific area but be able to support it according to the move. The mobile device must be able to process, filter and transmit the collected BSN data. The cloud server must be able to collect the data processed by the mobile device and provide it as a service. And the transfer of data requires standardized transfer between each device. In this paper, we propose a data delivery method through standard schema when mobile device processes data and provides service in cloud system and a data processing method according to the movement of the mobile device.

Despite their potential value, the mobile Internet services in the domestic market have not been widely accepted as industry experts have expected. To understand why, this study uses the TAM, Technology Acceptance Model, and explores the factors affecting the usage behavior of the end-users. Based on statistical analysis of survey data, we show that social influence and perceived ease of use affect perceived usefulness, and that self-efficacy and focus significantly influence perceived ease of use. Furthermore, perceived usefulness is shown to play a significant role in explaining actual usage of the mobile Internet services. However, contrary to the hypothesized relationships, service quality, focus, and innovativeness of users turn out to have little impact on the traditional endogenous TAM variables such as perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and actual usage behavior. Based on these results, we attempt to provide managerial implications for the domestic mobile Internet service providers and to suggest future research directions in this domain of research.

The fusion of Internet technology and applications with wireless communication provides a new business model and promises to extend the possibilities of commerce to what is popularly called mobile commerce, or m-commerce. In mobile Internet banking service through wireless local area network, security is a most important factor to consider. We describe the development of security service for mobile Internet banking on Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs). Banking Server and Authentication Server were developed to simulate banking business and to support certificate management of authorized clients, respectively. To increase security, we took hybrid approach in implementation: symmetric block encryption and public-key encryption. Hash function and random number generation were exploited to generate a secret key. The data regarding banking service were encrypted with symmetric block encryption, RC4, and the random number sequence was done with public-key encryption. PDAs communicate through IEEE 802.IIb wireless LAN (Local Area Network) to access banking service. Several banking services and graphic user interfaces, which emulatedthe services of real bank, were developed to verity the working of each security service in PDA, the Banking Server, and the Authentication Server.
