  • Information centric mobile network can significantly improve the data retrieving efficiency by caching contents at mobile edge. However, the cache pollution attack can affect the data obtaining process severely by requiring unpopular contents deliberately. To tackle the problem, we design an algorithm of mitigating cache pollution attacks in information centric mobile network. Particularly, the content popularity distribution statistic is proposed to detect abnormal behavior. Then a probabilistic caching strategy based on abnormal behavior is applied to dynamically maintain the steady-state distribution for content visiting probability and achieve the purpose of defense. The experimental results show that the proposed scheme can achieve higher request hit ratio and smaller latency for false locality content pollution attack than the CacheShield approach and the baseline approach where no mitigation approach is applied.

  • Mobile learning, which provides educational services with a mobile platform, has been greatly expanding with the increasing spread of digital devices. The transition from PC-based online education to mobile-based education enables users to access online education anytime and anywhere. Despite this expansion of mobile learning, there is a lack of user-oriented content design. Therefore, this study intends to derive a measure to evaluate usefulness of the content design. We conducted a literature survey to reflect characteristics of existing measures, which evaluate usefulness and content of mobile learning. As educational mobile applications have both educational service and mobile device features, they can be representative of pedagogical usability criterion and can be divided into system and content areas to further develop effectiveness of learning. We conducted questionnaires on the use of these applications on 15 experts using the del phi technique. The analysis suggests the ease of use, learning efficiency, aesthetics, and ease of learning to be criteria of pedagogical usability. This study expects to serve as a basis to improve the usability of mobile learning users.

  • Since two-way interactive broadcasting service began, remote controls have been fitted with 4 color buttons, which enables interaction and convenience to increase between users and content. Currently, diverse studies on IPTV are in progress. Particularly, as the mobile market rapidly grows, studies on mobile IPTV and on linkage with other media are constantly increasing. However, mobile IPTV has never been studied until now. In that sense, this present study attempted to design a mobile-based IPTV UI that could use a multi-dimensional search method based on consistent criteria for content search. As a result, the proposed IPTV UI is fitted with more usability and functionality for 4 color buttons. The UI designed in this study was compared to the IMDb Android Application, which uses GOMS-KLM. The results showed that the performance process was reduced by three stages, and that the performance time was reduced by more than 17.9%. Therefore, the conclusion can be reached that the proposed UI is effective for a fast search of contents.

  • Purpose: This study aimed to develop and evaluate a mobile application focusing on developmental support care for infants born prematurely. Methods: An application was developed using the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation model. In the analysis phase, previous research was evaluated through big data text-mining and a literature review. In the design phase, the preliminary content of the application was designed, and the content validity and comprehension were verified. A hybrid application was developed and used by eight experts and ten users, who evaluated the layout of the mobile application and their satisfaction with it. Results: The content of the designed application comprised a diary, customized information, developmental play, and community. The mean scores for layout were 3.73±0.47 and 3.43±0.68 out of 4 points among the experts and users, respectively. Users' mean satisfaction score was 3.70±0.70 out of 5 points. Conclusion: The information provided by the mobile application was evaluated as consistent and systematic. The application was also found to be satisfactory by infants' parents. The mobile application developed through this study is expected to be effective in supporting the development of children born prematurely.

  • Due to the rapid progress in network technology, many research on content security technologies is also being conducted in the mobile digital content sector. In the meantime, content protection has been immersed in preventing illegal copying, certifying, and issuance/management certificates, but still have many vulnerabilities in managing or authenticating confidential information. This study aims to strengthen confidential information about content based on dual management of content download rights through mobile phone numbers or device numbers. It also protect replay-attack by building a secure mobile DRM system where digital content is safely distributed based on a three-stage user authentication process. In addition, blockchain-based content security enhancements were studied during the primary/secondary process for user authentication for the prevention of piracy and copyright protection. In addition, the client authentication process was further improved through three final stages of authorization in the use of illegal content, considering that legitimate users redistributed their content to third-party.

  • In recent years, the market for mobile games has become the most important part in the mobile content industry. The purpose of this study are to identify a causality between flow and customer loyalty in mobile games and to identify the factors by which flow is influenced. Mobile game players were surveyed and the data were statistically analyzed empirically. Empirical results indicate that four independent variables such as game design, challenge, skill and feedback have impacts on the flow. And customer loyalty is significantly influenced by the flow. Based upon the statistical results, some useful guidelines for mobile game development and market penetration strategies are also provided.

  • As wireless internet market grows rapidly, demands of various contents in wireless internet are significantly being increased. The mobile contents have been changed from single media contents such as text and voice to multimedia contents. As the technologies of cellular phone and broadband grow, the development of multimedia contents that can well represent the characteristics of users will be more increased. One example of such content developments is a ring-tone content service. Ring-tone content services have been changed from existing simple ring-tone to various sound services that depend on characteristic of user. In this paper, we design and implement a multimedia greeting system for the next generation mobile content service. Our system produces multimedia greeting contents using various multimedia contents and represents the characteristics of users through the elevation of ring-tone content services.

  • We consider a mobile content delivery network (mCDN) in which special mobile devices designated as caching servers (caching-server device: CSD) can provide mobile stations with popular contents on demand via device-to-device (D2D) communication links. On the assumption that mobile CSD's are randomly distributed by a Poisson point process (PPP), an optimization problem is formulated to determine the probability of storing the individual content in each server in a manner that minimizes the average caching failure rate. Further, we present a low-complexity search algorithm, optimum dual-solution searching algorithm (ODSA), for solving this optimization problem. We demonstrate that the proposed ODSA takes fewer iterations, on the order of O(log N) searches, for caching N contents in the system to find the optimal solution, as compared to the number of iterations in the conventional subgradient method, with an acceptable accuracy in practice. Furthermore, we identify the important characteristics of the optimal caching policies in the mobile environment that would serve as a useful aid in designing the mCDN.

  • M-commerce services are rapidly emerging with recent advances in mobile devices and wireless communications. Internet Shopping mall managers provide mobile phone users with their mobile shopping malls for m-commerce. However, these mobile shopping malls usually have their own sites which are not compatible with their Internet shopping malls, thus resulting in inefficiency to manage the two kinds of shopping malls. In this paper, we develop a M-commerce content provider system to effectively bring Internet shopping malls to mobile phones by extracting items only concerned to users from product documents. We then apply and evaluate the system over a specific internet shopping mall site. The results show that the system reduces considerably the amount of data transferred to user's mobile phones compared with using general web browsers.

  • In this paper, we propose factors that influence on the mobile commerce satisfaction conducted by data mining and a PLS regression analysis. We extracted the most frequent words from mobile application reviews in which there are a large number of user's requests. We employed the content analysis to condense the large number of texts. We took a survey with the categories by which data are condensed and specified as factors that influence on the mobile commerce satisfaction. To avoid multicollinearity, we employed a PLS regression analysis instead of using a multiple regression analysis. Discovered factors that are potential consequences of customer satisfaction from direct requests by customers, the result may be an appropriate indicator for the mobile commerce market to improve its services.
