Textile Reinforced Cementitious Composite (TRCC) became the most common construction material lately and have excellent properties. TRCC can be employed in the manufacture of thin-walled facade elements, load-bearing integrated formwork, tunnel linings or in the strengthening of existing structures. These composite materials are a combination of matrix and textile materials. There isn't much research done about the usage of polymer modified matrices in textile reinforced cementitious composites. In this study, matrix materials named as fine grained concretes ($d_{max}{\leq}1.0mm$) were investigated. Air entraining effect of polymer modifiers were analyzed and air void content of fine grained concretes were identified with different methods. Aim of this research is to study the effect of polymer modification on the air content of fine grained concretes and the role of defoamer in controlling it. Polymer modifiers caused excessive air entrainment in all mixtures and defoamer material successfully lowered down the air content in all mixtures. Latex polymer modified mixtures had higher air content than redispersible powder modified ones. Air void analysis test was performed on selected mixtures. Air void parameters were compared with the values taken from air content meter. Close results were obtained with tests and air void analysis test found to be useful and applicable to fine grained concretes. Air void content in polymer modified matrix material used in TRCC found significant because of affecting mechanical and permeability parameters directly.
Due to multidisciplinary characteristic of the Interior Design field, it has developed into complex interdisciplinary field. Therefore Interior Design field has grown and established its major trends dependent upon other related field of study. With this perspective in mind, esthetics on Interior Design has to be treated in similar manner. In modem architects or artists have defined the terminology 'object' theoretical principle where by unable to distinguish between 'object's type' and 'objects', Presently, the term 'object' became a trend word. In order to confront misconception of the idea of 'Objectification', some people definition as reflection of this complex society. In this paper, it will establish a solid groundwork for a discussion on Objectification. The initial approach will deal with Le Corbusier and esthetics, which is the center of argument. By reviewing theoretical background of the related modern art, the paper discusses about the relationship between Le Corbusier and esthetics. Subsequently, the discussion about the criterions necessary to define object is provided. This paper only suggests a methodology of analyzing a trend in Interior Design. The condition to define Objectification in Interior Design, which is a result of the reviewing process on esthetics, can be concluded as 'modeling form(transformation of morphological meaning with change wrought by causing a visual reaction)', 'mixtures and modification of materials(transformation and spontaneity through mixing materials)' and 'elements greatly influence space' of the Interior Design.

The present study examines the sintering behaviour and effect of manganese addition both mechanically-blended and mechanically alloyed on Cr-Mo low alloyed steels to enhance the mechanical properties. Mn sublimation during sintering provides some specific phenomena which facilitate the sintering of alloying elements with high oxygen affinity. First step is the optimization of milling time to attain a master alloy with 50% of Mn which is diluted in Fe-1.5Cr-0.2Mo water atomized prealloyed powder by normal mixing. These mixtures are pressed to a green density of $7.1g/cm^3$ and sintered at $1120^{\circ}C$ in $90N_2-10H_2$ atmosphere.
(3-mercaptopropyl)trimethoxysilane (MPTMS) was used as a silylation agent, and modified silica nanoparticles were prepared by solution polymerization. 2.0 g of silica nanoparticles, 150 ml of toluene, and 20 ml of MPTMS were put into a 300 ml flask, and these mixtures were dispersed with ultrasonic vibration for 60 min. 0.2 g of hydroquinone as an inhibitor and 1 to 2 drops of 2,6-dimethylpyridine as a catalyst were added into the mixture. The mixture was then stirred with a magnetic stirrer for 8 hrs. at room temperature. After the reaction, the mixture was centrifuged for 1 hr. at 6000rpm. After precipitation, 150 ml of ethanol was added, and ultrasonic vibration was applied for 30 min. After the ultrasonic vibration, centrifugation was carried out again for 1 hr. at 6000rpm. Organo-modification of silica nanoparticles with a ${\gamma}$-methacryloxypropyl functional group was successfully achieved by solution polymerization in the ethanol solution. The characteristics of the ${\gamma}$-mercaptopropyl modified silica nanoparticles (MPSN) were examined using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS, THERMO VG SCIENTIFIC, MultiLab 2000), a laser scattering system (LSS, TOPCON Co., GLS-1000), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR, JASCO INTERNATIONL CO., FT/IR-4200), scanning electron microscopy (SEM, HITACHI, S-2400), an elemental analysis (EA, Elementar, Vario macro/micro) and a thermogravimetric analysis (TGA, Perkin Elmer, TGA 7, Pyris 1). From the analysis results, the content of the methacryloxypropyl group was 0.98 mmol/g and the conversion rate of acrylamide monomer was 93%. SEM analysis results showed that the organo-modification of ultra-fine particles effectively prevented their agglomeration and improved their dispensability.
The use of some superplasticizers in the production of mortar or concrete influences the hydration kinetic and the amount of total heat. This results in a modification of some properties, namely mortar workability, mechanical strength and durability. Three superplasticizers were used; a polynaphthalenesulfonate (PNS), a melamine resin (PMS) and a polycarboxylate (PC). They have been incorporated into various amount in a standardized mortar based on limestone cement. The aim of this study was to evaluate the rheological, mechanical and Calorimeters properties of this mortar. This will select the most compatible product and more able to be used depending on the climate of the country and the cement used. The PNS is incompatible with this type of cement registering a decrease of strength but the PMS and the PC modify the kinetics of hydration with significant heat generation and improved mechanical strength. The measured heat flow is significantly influenced by the type and dosage of superplasticizer especially for low dosage. Hydration heat and compressive strength of the different mixtures can be evaluated by determining their ultimate values and ages to reach these values where the correlation coefficients are very satisfactory.

A Pd-Cu-Ni alloyed hydrogen membrane has fabricated on porous nickel support formed by nickel powder. Porous nickel support made by sintering shows a strong resistance to hydrogen embrittlement and thermal fatigue. Plasma surface modification treatment is introduced as pre-treatment process instead of conventional HCl wet activation. Nickel was electroplated to a thickness of $2{\mu}m$ in order in to fill micropores at the nickel support surface. Palladium and copper were deposited at thicknesses of $4{\mu}m$ and $0.5{\mu}m$, respectively, on the nickel coated support by DC sputtering process. Subsequently, copper reflow at $700^{\circ}C$ was performed for an hour in $H_2$ ambient. And, as a result PdCu-Ni composite membrane has a pinhole-free and extremely dense microstructure, having a good adhesion to the porous nickel support and infinite hydrogen selectivity in $H_2/N_2$ mixtures.
An enhancement in the dissolution rate of the drug should facilitate its GI absorption if the absorption process is dissolution rate limited. One of the need for the techniques that can potentially enhance the dissolution rate and extent of absorption of hydrophobic drugs is the formation of coprecipitates with pharmacologically inert, polymeric materials. The physicochemical modification offers the advantage of possibly enabling one to administer the drug orally in a form from which it is most available for GI absorption. Several $investigation^{1-15)}$ demonstrated that the formation of solid dispersions or coprecipitates of relatively water-insoluble drugs with various pharmacologically inert carriers can increase singnificantly their in vitro dissolution rates. However, little information is available in the literature related to the dissolution rate patterns of furosemide, a water-insoluble diurectices, with respect to the sort of copolymer and the ratio of coprecipitates as a function of time, respectively. The purpose of the present investigation was to ascertain, the general applicability of the copolymers to use fore more fast, enhanced dissolution techniques of furosemide. To accomplish the need for enhancement in the dissolution rate of furosemide, varying ratio coprecipitates with different water-soluble polymers, such as polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP), polyethylene glycol 4000(PEG 4000), and polyethylene glycol 6000 (PEG 6000), were quantitatively studied by comparing their dissolution characteristics of furosemide. The dissolution patterns of pure furosemide, varying ratio furosemide-PVP coprecipitates, (1:2, 1:5, and 1:9(w/w)), furosemide-PEG 4000 coprecipitates (1:4, 1:9, and 1:19(w/w), furosemide-PEG 6000 coprecipitates(1:4, 1:9, and 1:19(w/w)), and the same ratio physical mixtures, respectively, were compared by the amount dissolved as a function of time.
The engineering characteristics of natural sediments containing diatom microfossils have been investigated for their abnormal deformation and strength behavior for a few decades. The presence of disk or hollow shape diatoms causes low compressibility, high hydraulic conductivity, and high shear strength of sediments. Some of these unusual differences show the characteristic of diatom owing to the interlocking of large interparticle porosity and angular particles. This phenomenon implies the possible use of diatom as modification materials to change the engineering performance of soil mixtures. This paper describes the engineering characteristics of diatom-kaolin mixture to investigate the engineering properties of diatom modified soils using conventional geotechnical tests and elastic and electromagnetic wave propagation tests. Experimental test results show the performance improvement by increasing diatom contents and the performance degradation by the breakage of interlocking between diatom particles under high effective stress.
Poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) membrane surfaces were modified using surface modifying macromolecules (SMMs). The Zonyl BA-L as SMM was used and the various PVDF membranes containing 0 to 2 wt% SMM were prepared. The resulting membranes were characterized through SEM, contact angle measurements and pervaporation separation of water-ethanol system. SMM layers were created in the surface regions of PVDF membranes by SEM images and the contact angles were increased more than untreated PVDF membranes. The pervaporation was carried out at 50, 60 and $70^{\circ}C$, and the PVDF membranes containing 1 and 2 wt% SMM were used for 10, 20, 50 wt% water in the binary water/ethanol mixtures and pure water. PVDF/2 wt% Zrlnyl BA-L membrane showed the permeability 5.3 $g/m^2hr$ and separation factor 287 at $50^{\circ}C$ for water : ethanol = 10 : 50 solution.
Effects of dry heating and pH on pasting, thermal, and textural properties of corn starch containing soy protein isolate (SPI) were investigated. Samples were prepared by drying corn starch dispersions containing 3% SPI at $40^{\circ}C$ (unheated sample) or additionally heating dried mixtures at $130^{\circ}C$ (heated sample). Pasting properties of starch samples and textural properties of starch gels were measured using Rapid Visco-Analyzer (RVA) and Texture Analyzer (TA), respectively. Effects of SPI addition and dry heating on retrogradation and microstructure of gel samples were investigated using DSC and SEM, respectively. Pasting viscosity of dry-heated samples was significantly higher than that of unheated samples, and at pH 8 compared to pH 6. Dry-heat treatment decreased fracture stress and strain of starch gels containing SPI. No significant effects of dry-heat treatment and pH were observed on retrogradation of starch gels. Addition of SPI retarded starch retrogradation and modified starch gel properties with increased nutritional value. Dry-heat treatment with SPI could be possible method for starch modification.
