This paper investigates strength characteristics and stress-strain behaviors of geogrid mixing reinforced lightweight soil. The lightweight soil was reinforced with geogrid in order to increase its compressive strength. Test specimens were fabricated by various mixing conditions including cement content, initial water content, air content and geogrid layer and then unconfined compression tests were carried out. From the experimental results, it was found that unconfined compressive strength as well as stress-strain behavior of lightweight soil were strongly influenced by mixing conditions. The more cement content that is added to the mixture, the greater its unconfined compressive strength. However, the more initial water content or the more air foam content, the less its unconfined compressive strength. It was observed that the strength of geogrid reinforced lightweight soil was increased due to reinforcing effect by the geogrid for most cases except cement content less than 20%. In reinforced lightweight soil, secant modulus $(E_{50})$ was increased as the strength increased due to the inclusion of geogrid.

The mixing characteristics of pylon injection in a Scramjet combustor and effects of film cooling to protect pylon from air-heating were investigated. Three-dimensional Navier-Stokes equations with $k-{\omega}$ SST turbulence model were used. Fuel hydrogen and air were considered as coolants. There were remarkable improvements of penetration and mixing rate with the pylon injection. There was also over-heating on the front surface of the pylon without film cooling. The coolant injected parallel to the front surface of the pylon protects the pylon from over-heating.

Korea, which has a high dependency on energy imports, is greatly affected by fluctuations in international oil prices. In order to offset these effects, various policies such as 'diversification of energy sources' and 'energy mix' are being pursued. Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) is a policy promoted for this purpose, and a compulsory mixing system is applied only to the diesel. In order to reduce dependence on fossil fuels in various countries, they are concentrating on the dissemination of bio-alcohol as well as bio-diesel, and commercialization through various verification. In this study, evaluation of domestic materials and vehicles was carried out to promote domestic bio alcohol fuel. We analyzed the fuel characteristics of domestic quality standard items by mixing them with gasoline of automobile at a certain mixing ratio (0%, 3%, 6%, and 10%).

Internal flow characteristics within Y-jet atomizers and the local drop size distribution and cross-sectional averaged drop size at the outside were investigated with the liquid and air injection pressures, mixing port length of atomizers, and the liquid properties taken as parameters. To examine the effect of the liquid viscosity, glycerin-water mixtures were used in this study. The liquid viscosity plays only a minor role in determining the internal flow pattern and the spatial distribution shape of drops, but the drop sizes themselves generally increase with increasing of the liquid viscosity. An empirical correlation for the liquid discharge coefficient at the liquid port was deduced from the experimental results; the liquid discharge coefficient strongly depends on the liquid flow area at the mixing point which is proportional to the local volumetric quality(.betha.$_{Y}$), and the volumetric quality was included in the correlation. Regardless of the value of the liquid viscosity, the compressible flow through the gas port was well represented by the polytropic expansion process(k=1.2), and the mixing point pressure could be simply correlated to the aspect ratio( $l_{m}$/ $d_{m}$) of the mixing port and the air/liquid mass flow rate ratio( $W_{g}$/ $W_{f}$) as reported in the previous study.udy.udy.y.
In this research, internal-mixing twin-fluid atomizer using sonic energy is designed and manufactured. We are trying to intimate high efficiency twin-fluid atomizer to obtain good liquid atomization in the low pressure region. Define of geometric form of atomizer, characteristics of spray is influenced by position, depth and height variation of cavity resonator, variation of sound intensity and resonant sound frequency with liquid flow rate. The liquid atomization is promoted by multi-stage disintegration of mixing flow of gas with liquid and the optimum condition of position and depth of cavity resonator according to sonic energy is obtained from the condition at a=2.5mm and L=2mm. The velocity distribution of droplets shows negative value due to recirculation region at the center of axial, and as the radial direction distance is far, the velocity distribution of droplets decrease slowly after having a maximum value. However velocity and SMD show nearly uniform distribution at the down stream and as result compared to Nukiyama and Tanasawa's equation. atomization of mixing flow with air and liquid dispersing from the outlet of the nozzle is promoted by the effect of collision at the cavity resonator.

This study analyzes the mixing and basic characteristics of concrete according to the unit quantity and mixing method of ternary blended cement and the results of this study can be summarized as follows. In the case of the premixed cement (hereafter referred as POBF) of POBF135, it satisfies the target level of fluidity and air content in which it shows relatively small bleedings even though it represents the latest initial and final setting. Also, although the POBF135 represents small initial strength, it shows an increase in the strength according to the increase in aging. In addition, it shows the lowest temperature in the POBF135. As a result, it can be seen that the POBF135 indicates the most optimal mixing subject to considering the aspect of fluidity, compressive strength, and heat of hydration in general figures.

This paper deals with the dynamic characteristics of the impeller shaft model which is the most important part in developing the resin mixing machine. The can is rotating by air motor in mixing machine. Then the end of shaft is fixed. The bearing support is to increase the fundamental natural frequency. The natural frequency analysis using finite element analysis software are performed on the imported commercial impeller shaft model. This paper presents calculated bearing stiffness of Soda, Harris and modified Harris formula considering contact angle according to bearing supported position. The most important fundamental natural frequency of the impeller shaft except bearing support is around 13.932 Hz. This paper presents one bearing and two bearings support position to maximize the 1st natural frequency. The maximized fundamental natural frequency is around 48.843 Hz in one bearing support and 55.52 Hz in two bearings support.
Matrices retaining electrolyte in phosphoric acid fuel cell were prepared with SiC to SiC whisker mixing ratios of 1:0.5, 1:1, 1:1.5, 1:2, 1:3 by tape casting method. When viscosity of the slurry was 5.9 poise and the SiC to SiC whisker mixing ratios were 1:1, 1:1.5, 1:2, the ranges of porosity, acid absorbency and bubble pressure were 80~90%, 2.5~6 and 700~2200 mmH2O, respectively. Those ranges are acceptable for a practical electrolyte-retaining matrix. With increasing the mixing ratio of SiC whisker to SiC, the porosity and the vol.% of large pores in the main pore size distribution which is between 1 and 10 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$, increased rapidly. Impedance spectroscopy was measured to know characteristics of matrix inside and contact region of matrix to catalyst layer. When the SiC to SiC whisker mixing ratio was 1:2, hydrogen ions were transported in the matrix most effectively because of high ionic conductivity and low activation energy due to high acid absorbency in spite of high interfacial resistance. The cell current density of the cell made using the matrix was 220 mA/$\textrm{cm}^2$ at 0.7 V.

The flow mixing characteristics for the heated dual jets were numerically studied by using URANS (unsteady Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes). The increased turbulent diffusion was obtained for the compressible flow, and the thermal diffusion of incompressible flow increased more than that of compressible flow. From the results of FFT and phase portraits, periodic and quasi-periodic states were observed as the jet spacing increased. It was observed that linear variations of merging points and combined points were different because unsteady flow determined the flow mixing characteristics for a large jet spacing.

Improvement of the atomization characteristics by adopting the air-shrouded injector has been considered as one of the important methods for decreasing HC emissions in SI engines. Thus, in this study to develop air-shrouded injector with a finer spray, atomization characteristics of differ-ent types of commercial air-shrouded injectors were investigated through the spray imaging and the drop size measurements. As a results, it was found that the internal mixing type of air-shroud-ed injector had a good atomization characteristics. But, a number of large droplets were found in the internal mixing type commercial injector, this shortcoming was improved by adopting the thread type air passages in the air nozzle.
