  • In order to cope with the demands of the rapidly changing society, advanced countries enrolled in OECD have been establishing corresponding directions as integrating their fields in economy, society, and education as one system. To be a part of the international changes, Korea has presented "Mixed-Use of schools and community facilities." "Mixed-Use of schools and community facilities" enables schools to expand necessary facilities, which were not secured due to insufficient budget, through community funding. Communities could not secure enough convenient facilities because they did not have enough sites for the facilities; however, school sites have made the communities possible to have facilities. As a result, the demand for "Mixed-Use of schools and community facilities" has increased. Therefore, this study redefines the concept of the Mixed-Use of School Facilities in the perspective of the main users, researches the current state of the Mixed-Use of School Facilities through case studies in Korea, and intends to research preferences of the synthesis through surveys. In addition, the study proposes the proper size and the standard of the facilities that are possible to synthesize them with schools. In the future, in running this Mixed-Use of School Facilities business, the data from this study can be utilized.

  • This study was conducted by the slump test and the consistency test of the cement mixed soil which is soil mixed with cement to investigate and estimate the difficulty degree of work and the proper water content. So I would like to present the fundamental data that establish the work standard of the cement mixed soil. In conclusion, in this study the slump value of the cement mixed soil increases over-all according to the increase of the water content although it has a little difference of the increase range and it is smaller than one of the soil. It is estimated that the aggregating and throwing work of the cement mixed soil which is mixed with 6% and 9% cement would be fine when it has the $25%{\sim}27%$ water content and the wall plastering work is the $30%{\sim}32%$ and the floor plastering work is the $30%{\sim}35%$ and the flowing and pouring work is the $40%{\sim}42%$ water content as well as the mold compacting work is the 20%.

  • The purpose of this study is to propose a 40MPa mortar mixed design model that applies the neural network theory to minimize wasted effort in trial and error. A mixed design model was applied to each of the 60 data using fly ash, blast furnace slag fine powder and thickened rice husk powder. And in the neural network model, the optimized connection weight was obtained by repeatedly applying it to the MATLAB. The completed mixed design model was demonstrated by analyzing and comparing the predicted values of the mixed design model with those measured in the actual compressive strength test. As a result of the mixed design verification experiment, the error rates of the double mixed non-cement mortar using blast furnace slag fine powder and rice husk powder at a height of 40MPa were 3.24% and 3.4%. Mixed with fly ash and rice husk powder had an error rate of 3.94% and 5.8%. The error rate of the triple mixed non-cement mortar of the rice husk powder, fly ash, and blast furnace slag fine powder was 2.5% and 5.1%.

  • In recent years, realistic contents technology such as virtual reality, augmented reality, and mixed reality has been spreading in travel and tourism industries, and hence there have been various smart tourism AR, VR contents developed. In the past, people mainly used books and Internet for travel, but the use of VR, AR and MR technologies will be used more for consumption of cultural leisure contents in the future. This study describes the Mixed Reality based Baekje Neungsa Cultural Heritage On-Site Guide System to accelerate smart tourism. In this study, the immersive mixed reality HMD was used to provide visitors with more intuitive and effective information about the historical, cultural and architectural values of Baekje Neungsa through virtual experiences. The cultural heritage on-site guide system module supports various Meta Data services and can be easily used for mixed reality content development by designating Meta Data scripts. This research can make contributions to the development of mixed reality based smart tourism contents.

  • In this paper, we deal with the separation of data by concurrently determined, piecewise nonlinear discriminant functions. Toward the end, we develop a new $l_1$-distance norm error metric and cast the problem as a mixed 0-1 integer and linear programming (MILP) model. Given a finite number of discriminant functions as an input, the proposed model considers the synergy as well as the individual role of the functions involved and implements a simplest nonlinear decision surface that best separates the data on hand. Hence, exploiting powerful MILP solvers, the model efficiently analyzes any given data set for its piecewise nonlinear separability. The classification of four sets of artificial data demonstrates the aforementioned strength of the proposed model. Classification results on five machine learning benchmark databases prove that the data separation via the proposed MILP model is an effective supervised learning methodology that compares quite favorably to well-established learning methodologies.

  • An estimating procedure is introduced for the nonlinear mixed-effect Poisson regression, for longitudinal study, where data from different subjects are independent whereas data from same subject are correlated. The proposed procedure provides the estimates of the mean function of the response variables, where the canonical parameter is related to the input vector in a nonlinear form. The generalized cross validation function is introduced to choose optimal hyper-parameters in the procedure. Experimental results are then presented, which indicate the performance of the proposed estimating procedure.

  • Logistic regression is a well known binary classification method in the field of statistical learning. Mixed-effect regression models are widely used for the analysis of correlated data such as those found in longitudinal studies. We consider kernel extensions with semiparametric fixed effects and parametric random effects for the logistic regression. The estimation is performed through the penalized likelihood method based on kernel trick, and our focus is on the efficient computation and the effective hyperparameter selection. For the selection of optimal hyperparameters, cross-validation techniques are employed. Numerical results are then presented to indicate the performance of the proposed procedure.

  • Recently, Pepe et al. (2003) employed the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) approach to rank candidate genes from a microarray experiment that can be used for the biomarker development with the ultimate purpose of the population screening of a cancer, In the cancer microarray experiment based on n patients the researcher often wants to compare the tumor tissue with the normal tissue within the same individual using a common reference RNA. This design is referred to as a reference design or an indirect design. Ideally, this experiment produces n pairs of microarray data, where each pair consists of two sets of microarray data resulting from reference versus normal tissue and reference versus tumor tissue hybridizations. However, for certain individuals either normal tissue or tumor tissue is not large enough for the experimenter to extract enough RNA for conducting the microarray experiment, hence there are missing values either in the normal or tumor tissue data. Practically, we have $n_1$ pairs of complete observations, $n_2$ 'normal only' and $n_3$ 'tumor only' data for the microarray experiment with n patients, where n=$n_1$+$n_2$+$n_3$. We refer to this data set as a mixed data set, as it contains a mix of fully observed and partially observed pair data. This mixed data set was actually observed in the microarray experiment based on human tissues, where human tissues were obtained during the surgical operations of cancer patients. Pepe et al. (2003) provide the rationale of using ROC approach based on two independent samples for ranking candidate gene instead of using t or Mann -Whitney statistics. We first modify ROC approach of ranking genes to a paired data set and further extend it to a mixed data set by taking a weighted average of two ROC values obtained by the paired data set and two independent data sets.

  • Process measurements contain random and gross errors and the size estimation of gross errors is required for production accounting. Mixed integer programming technique had been applied to identify and estimate the gross errors simultaneously. However, the compensate model based on mixed integer programming used all measured variables or spanning tree as gross error candidates. This makes gross error estimation problem combinatorial or computationally expensive. Mixed integer programming with test statistics is proposed for computationally inexpensive gross error identification /estimation. The gross error candidates are identified by measurement test and the set of gross error candidates are...
