The microstructure and magnetic properties of Fe-Nb-B-N thin film alloys, which produced by rf magnetron sputtering method in $Ar+N_2$ mixed gas atmosphere, were investigated. The $Fe_{70}Nb_{14}B_{11}N_5$ films, annealed at 59$0^{\circ}C$, exhibit soft magnetic properties: $4{\pi}M_s=16.5kG$ , $H_c=0.13Oe$ and ${\mu}_{eff}$ (1~10 MHz)=5, 000. The frequency stability of the Fe-Nb-B-N films has also been found to be good up to 10 MHz. The Fe-Nb-B-N thin film alloys annealed at 59$0^{\circ}C$ consist of three phase; fine crystalline $\alpha$-Fe phase with grain size of about 5~10 nm, Nb-B rich amorphous phase and Nb-nitride precipitates with the size of less than 3 nm. Annealed Fe-Nb-B films have two phases; $\alpha$-Fe grains with the size of about 10 nm and Nb-B rich amorphous phase. The addition of N decreased $\alpha$-Fe grain size due to the precipitation of NbN. The good magnetic properties of the Fe-Nb-B-N film alloys are due to fine $\alpha$-Fe grains resulting from the precipitation of NbN.

We newly propose that we may reuse scrap powders ($Z_rO_2$+8 mol%-$Y_2O_3$) as $Y_2O_3$-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) sintered products through sintering process at 1550$^{circ}C$ for 2hrs. We also prepared the reference specimen from fresh $Z_rO_2$+30 mol%-$Y_2O_3$ powder mixture (celluar type with 1㎛-length). The reference sample showed a dense microstructure with grains of $\sim$10㎛ in diameter, while the sintered sample from scrap powder showed irregular grains of 1$\sim$30 ㎛ in diameter. Through XRD analysis, we confirmed that the reference sample has mixed phases of $Y_2O_3$(cubic), $Z_{r0.8}O_{1.9}$(cubic), and $Z_rO_2$(monoclinic), while the sintered YSZ sample from scrap powder has only tetragonal phase. Moreover, the sintered YSZ from scrap powder showed vickers hardness and apparent density more than 70 and 4.11 g/cc, which implies that it can be suitable for structural material application.

This study investigates the changes in inorganic composition and the microbial counts during the process of fermentation of mixed domestic organic resources for the development of alternatives for imported oil cake, and examines the characteristics of mixed fermentation organic fertilizer (MFOF). The effect of the MFOF on the lettuce growth is investigated in order to evaluate the possibility of replacing the existing mixed oil cake with the MFOF. Six kinds of domestic by-product resources, which are rice bran, distiller's dried grains, sesame meal, fish meal, and spent mushroom substrate, are mixed by mixing ratio and the composition was analyzed during the fermentation process for 90 days under moisture content 30% and sealed condition. During the 90 days of fermentation, the pH change of the MFOF was little, and the moisture content was maintained at 34-35% until the 60th day of fermentation, and then decreased to 30-31% on the 90th day. Total nitrogen content remained unchanged during the fermentation period, but total carbon content showed a significant difference on the 21st day of fermentation. It was confirmed that the content of fertilizer composition (nitrogen, phosphate, and potash) of the MFOF was 8.7% or more, which is suitable for the minimum amount standard of the main nutrients to be contained in the organic fertilizer. During the fermentation process of organic fertilizer, the density of bacteria and actinomycetes increased until 60 days and 30 days, respectively, and thereafter little changes were shown, and fungal population showed an increasing trend. As a result of lettuce cultivation test in the greenhouse by applying the MFOF, the growth and yield were comparable to that of using the existing mixed oil cake fertilizer when 100% was applied based on crop standard nitrogen fertilizer level. The use of mixed fermentation organic fertilizer made with domestic by-product resources can be used for use in farms in the future and is expected to contribute to the stable production of environment friendly agricultural products.
Purpose: Waste parts of zirconia blocks and powders were remained after CAD/CAM process. In order to make these residual zirconia fit for practical use, zirconia single cores were produced by drain casting process. Methods: Remained zirconia blocks were reduced to powders with zirconia mortar, and screened with 180 mesh sieve. Zirconia slip was prepared from waste parts of zirconia by ball milling. Plaster molds for forming cores by slip casting were also prepared. Formed cores were removed from mold after partial drying. Dried cores were biscuit fired at $1,100^{\circ}C$ for 1hour. Biscuit fired cores were treated with tools to control the fitness and thickness. Finished cores were $2^{nd}$ fired at $1,500^{\circ}C$ for 1hour. Microstructure of cross section of core was observed by SEM. Results: When mill pot was filled with 100g of zirconia and alumina mixed powder, 300g of zirconia ball, and 180g of distilled water, the optimum slip for drain casting was obtained. Gypsum plaster for ceramic forming was more suitable then yellow stone plaster for casting process. SEM photograph showed the microstructure of fully dense with uniform grain size of zirconia and well dispersed alumina grains into the zirconia matrix. Conclusion: Zirconia single cores were produced by drain casting process. Drain casting is useful process to make these residual zirconia fit for practical use. Further study will be focused on the preparation of the bridge type cores by casting.

In recent years, the home meal replacement (HMR) market has expanded and the consumption of ready-to-heat (RTH) rice has significantly increased. In this study, RTH rice products containing seaweed were prepared with different types of grain: white rice, a mixture of white rice and barley, barley, and mixed grains. The control was a commercial RTH white rice without seaweed. The proximate components, total dietary fiber, in vitro starch digestibility, and antioxidant activity were compared. The ash content of the RTH seaweed rice was higher than that of the control (P<0.05). The total dietary fiber of the RTH seaweed rice was in the range of 1.03-6.57%, which directly impacted the in vitro starch digestibility. The in vitro antioxidant activity including total phenolic content, reducing power, DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picryl-hydrazyl) and ABTS+ (2,2'-azino-bis-3-ethylbenzthiazoline-6-sulphonic acid) radical scavenging activity of the seaweed rice with barley and the white rice/barley mixture was greater than that of the other rice products (P<0.05). These results indicate that the in vitro digestibility and antioxidant activity of the HMR RTH seaweed rice were greater than those of the control. In addition, when the RTH seaweed rice was prepared with barley, the functional activity improved.
This study was carried out to examine the effects of adding 0.3at.%Hf in Fe-30at.%Al-5at.%Cr alloy on the variation of microstructures and hot workability. The effect of hot rolling on mechanical properties was estimated by measuring the elongation and tensile strength after rolling at 800 and 1000 respectively. Microstructure of Fe-30at.%Al-5at.%Cr alloy was consisted of large equiaxed grains and it was changed to quasi-equiaxed or columnar structures by adding 0.3at.%Hf to Fe-30at.%Al-5at.%Cr alloy. Every specimens showed a decreased tensile strength after hot rolling compared to that of before rolling. The elongation was increased by hot rolling. Remarkable changes in elongation by hot rollong was observed such as from 1.4% to 4.5% elongation at the specimen of 0.3at.%Hf added to Fe-30at.%Al-5at.%Cr. Fe-30at.%Al-5at.%Cr alloy showed typical cleavage fracture on tensile failure and hot rolling has negligible effects on fracture mode in this alloy. However at the alloy containing Hf fracture mode was changed by hot rolling from intergranular to mixed intergranular and transgranular fracture mode.
It is known that the difference of texture of the polycrystalline Al sheet is not a critical parameter for the formation of aligned nanopore arrays in anodic aluminum oxide (AAO). This will be related to the polycrystalline grain in the Al sheet. The texture of each grain in the polycrystalline Al sheet is different. The mixed textures of grains have the mixing effects on the nanopore structure of the AAO. Thus, the effect of Al texture on the nanopore structure of the AAO was investigated using three types of Al single crystals with (111), (200) and (220) textures in this paper. These three types of AAO layers were fabricated by the two-step anodizing method at 40 V and temperature of 0-5℃ in oxalic acid solution. In the nanopores formed on the AAO, the average area of one nanopore and the average roundness of one nanopore were measured were measured based on the SEM images. In the hexagon obtained by connecting nanopores on the AAO, the average standard deviation of one angle deviated from 120° was measured. In the AAO nanopores with texture of (111), (200) and (220) single crystal samples, the average area of one nanopore of (200) single crystal sample was the widest, followed by (111), (220) single crystals. The average circularity of one nanopore of (200) single crystal sample was the best, followed by (111), (220) single crystals. The average standard deviation of an angle from 120° of (220) single crystal sample was the largest, followed by (111) and (200) single crystals.
In this study, we attempted to find alternative materials to rice bran (Japonica in Korea) such as rice bran pellet (Indica in Pakistan), corn distillers dried grains with solubles, sesame oil meal, and kapok meal for bottle cultivation of Pleurotus eryngii. Among all treatments, the total carbon content of the mixed substrate was the highest in T1 and the total nitrogen content was the highest in T4. The C/N ratio of T2 was comparable to that of the control and was higher than that of other treatments. The diameter of the pileus was the largest in T1 and T2, and the length of the stipe was the largest in T1 and T2. The yield and bio-efficiency of the fruit body were higher in T2 than in the other treatments, and were similar to that of the control plot. Therefore, the findings of our study suggest that rice bran pellet (Indica in Pakistan) could be a suitable alternative to rice bran (Japonica in Korea) for the cultivation of P. eryngii.
The mycelia of Lepista nuda were isolated from the different basidiocarps, collected from the forests of Robinia pseudo-acaciae and mixed forests of R. pseudo-acaciae and Quercus serrata. On the different woods, the growths of mycelia collected were compared with those transferred from Applied Mycology Division, RDA. Also, the measurements of dry weight loss, as growth of mycelia, were correlated to the productions of carbon dioxide on the different wood substrates. The growth of mycelia was observed to be best on the woods of R. pseudo-acaciae; followed by the growth on the woods of Morus alba. The growth rate of mycelia appeared to be various, depending on the different kinds of wood substrates. The soild-cultures of the mycelia on the sawdust of the R. pseudo-acaciae woods and the grains of sorghum and corn were conducted, but the basidiocarps were not obtained from these. Therefore, this mycelium collected was believed to be important as new mushroom utilizing the different woods resources instead of Q. serrata.
The 0.96Mg$TiO_3$-0.04Sr$TiO_3$ ceramics with $V_2O_5$(5wt%) were prepared by the conventional mixed oxide method. The structural properties were investigated with sintering temperature by XRD and SEM. According to the X-ray diffraction patterns of the 0.96Mg$TiO_3$-0.04Sr$TiO_3$ceramics with $V_2O_5$(5wt%), the ilmenite $MgTiO_3$ and perovskite $SrTiO_3$ structures were coexisted and secondary phase $MgTi_2O_5$ were appeared. Increasing the sintering temperature, the grain size was increased and three types of grains were exhibited: larger circular grain, small square grain and lapth-shaped grain. In the case of 0.96Mg$TiO_3$-0.04Sr$TiO_3$ ceramics with $V_2O_5$(10wt%), dielectric constant, quality factor and temperature coefficient of resonant frequency were $15.24{\sim}18.55$, $22,890{\sim}42,100$GHz, -24.5${\sim}$+2.414ppm/$^{\circ}C$, respectively.
