Xe EEFL의 혼합가스에 따른 전기 광학적 특성 (Electrical and Optical properties of Xe EEFL by mixed gas)

  • TFT-LCD used in display area is not a light-emissive device itself but TFT-LCD can overcome through the employ of the backlight unit (BLU). BLU is very important device in TFT-LCD system. However, the old-fashion BLU of CCFL type is crucible to the health due to the contained material, mercury (Hg). Moreover, strong temperature dependency of lamp employed with Hg becomes the other disadvantage in practical usage. To solve these problems, Hg-Free lamp with strong thermal resistance property is required to displace the Hg lamp. We studied optical and electrical properties of Xe-Ne-He mixed gas that is dependent on change of mixed ratio and pressure. In our results, the designed lamp without the phosphorescent material has the lowest firing voltage at xe 50%(Ne:He=9:1).

  • This paper describes the results of cold flow test and hot firing tests of an uni-element coaxial swirl injector and hot firing tests of a subscale combustor, as to the development effort of coaxial swirl injector for high performance liquid rocket engine combustor. A major design parameter for coaxial swirl injector is the recess number of a bi-swirl injector. The results of hot firing tests of the uni-element injector combustor and the sub-scale combustor are analyzed to investigate the effect of the recess number influencing on the combustion performance and pressure fluctuation. The test results of a cold flow test of the unielement combustor shows that it was shown that the change in recess number has significant effect on mixing characteristics and efficiency, while the effect of recess number on atomization characteristic is not The results of a series of firing tests using unielement and subscale combustor show that the recess length significantly affects the hydraulic characteristics, the combustion efficiency, and the dynamics of the liquid oxygen/kerosene bi-swirl injector. As a point of combustion performance, combustion efficiencies are 90% for unielement combustor and 95% for subscale combustor. The difference in the characteristic velocities between the unielement combustor and the subscale combustor may be caused by the difference in thermal loss to the combustor wall and the relative lengths of the combustion chamber. For a mixed type coaxial swirl combustor, the pressure drop across the injector increases as recess number becomes larger. The low frequency pressure fluctuation observed in unielement combustor can be related to the propellant mixing characteristics of the coaxial bi-swirl injector. The effect of the recess number on the pressure fluctuation inside the combustion chamber is more significant in un i-element combustor than the subscale combustor, of which the phenomena are also observed in time domain and frequency domain.

인공배지를 이용한 옥수수와 콩의 생육시험 연구 (Study on the Growth of Soybean and Corn in Artificial Media)

  • 슬러지를 토양개량제로 재활용하기 위하여 슬러지 처리에 요업소성 공법을 적용하여 다공극성의 인공배지를 생산하였다. 슬러지를 이용해 인공배지를 생산하기 위하여 자바사이트와 석회를 첨가재로 사용하였으며, 첨가재와 슬러지를 혼합한 시료를 $800{\sim}1,100^{\circ}C$의 고온으로 열처리하였다. 비교 밭 토양에 인공배지를 혼합한 후, 혼합토양의 물리${\cdot}$화학성을 분석하였고, 작물 생육 시험을 통하여 인공배지 혼합에 따른 영향을 조사${\cdot}$분석하였다. 인공배지의 pH는 비교 밭 토양구보다 높았다. 작물 생장 시험 후 비교 밭 토양 보다 인공배지 처리구에서 대부분 CEC, OM, TN, TP 및 $AV.P_2O_5$가 높게 나타났다. 작물 생장 시험 결과 인공배지 처리구에서 콩과 옥수수의 생육 상태가 비교 밭 토양구에서 보다 좋은 것으로 나타났다. 또한 콩과 옥수수의 수확량도 각각 약 46kg/10a, 194kg/10a 정도 인공배지 처리구에서 높게 나타났다. 인공배지 처리구의 중금속 함량은 모든 처리구에서 기준치보다 낮게 나타났다. 따라서 슬러지로 만든 인공배지를 일반 밭 토양에 혼합하여 작물을 재배하여도 문제가 없을 것으로 판단된다.

도자기용 아연결정 유약의 결정 제어를 위한 연구 (A study on crystalline control of zinc crystal glaze for ceramics)

  • 유약원료 내의 ZnO와 SiO2의 조성과 소성요건에 따라 생성되어 표면으로 석출된 아연결정은 매우 장식성이 높아 선호된다. 하지만 아연결정유약은 대부분 소성온도가 높고 소성온도 폭이 좁아 상용유약으로 사용하기 어렵다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 아연결정유약 제조 시 사용하는 주원료인 frit를 혼용하여 공융효과를 이용하면 일반적인 아연결정유약의 소성온도를 1270℃보다 아연결정의 유약 생성온도를 낮출 수 있을 것으로 기대하였다. 그 결과 Frit 혼용 유약에서는 아연결정의 생성온도가 낮아질 뿐 아니라 1230~1270℃로 소성온도 폭이 넓어져 안정적으로 결정이 생성되는 유약을 개발할 수 있었다. 소성 최고온도를 1230~1250℃로 낮추고 냉각 시 유지온도를 약 950℃까지 낮출 수 있었으며, 경제적으로 효과적인 유약을 개발할 수 있었다. Frit 혼용으로, 유약의 조성에 따라 냉각 시 유지온도는 아연결정의 재결정화에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났으며 이때 결정형을 조절할 수 있다. 또한, 조핵제의 활용으로 결정 생성 량과 형태의 제어가 가능하다.

  • The reaction-sintered alumina and zirconia-alumina ceramics having low firing shrinkage were prepared from the Al/Al2O3 or Al/ZrO2(Ca-PSZ) powder mixtures via the attrition milling. And in this milling process the effect of the characteristics of used powders was investigated. Attrition milling was much more effective in reducing the particle size of ceramic/metal mixed powders than ball milling. Powder mixtures of flake-type Al with coarse alumina was much more effectively comminuted by the attrition milling than the mixtures of globular-type Al with coarse alumina powders. And coarse alumina than fine alumina was much more beneficial in cutting and reducing the ductile Al particles. In the contrary to Al/Al2O3 powder mixtures, Al/ZrO2 powder mixtures was not effectively comminutd. But whether using the alumina ball media or attrition milled with Al2O3 powder rather than Al, the milling efficiency was much more increased.

  • Photoluminescent and cathodoluminescent charcteristics of inorganic luminescent materials were investigated ot develop possible phosphors for thin film electroluminescent (TFEL) device applications. Mg, Zn, and Photoluminescent and cathodoluminescent charcteristics of inorganic luminescent materials were investigated ot develop possible phosphors for thin film electroluminescent (TFEL) device applications. Mg, Zn, and $Si_3N_4$ powders were used to synthesize $(Mg_xZn_{1-x})SiN_2$ host materials. $Tb_4O_7$ and $Eu_2O_3$ powdrs were added as luminescent centers. Very sharp emission spectra of $Tb^{3+}$ ions were observed from $Mg._5Zn._5SiN_2:Tb$ sampels sintered at $1400^{\circ}C$ for an hour and the maximum intensity of emission spectra occured at wavelength of 550nm (green light). Synthetic conditions of $(Mg_xZn_{1-x})SiN_2:Eu$ phosphors were optimized for the hghest luminescence. The Eu concentrations were varied from 0.2% to 1.6%. Before firing, the powders were mixed using ballmills, methanol, acetone, or D.I. water. The Mg/Zn ratio also were varied from x=0.3 to x=0.7. The maximum PL intensity was obtained from a sample with 1.2% Eu concentration and the powder was mixed with methanol and dried before firing. The maximum intensity of the emission spectra occurred t the wavelength of 470nm(blue light). TFEL devices fabricated by using sputter deposition of $(Mg._3Zn._7)SiN_2:Eu$ phosphor layer showed yellowish white emission at the phosphor field of 2MV/cm.

  • 유연탄과 무연탄 및 유, 무연탄의 연소특성을 해석하기 위하여 내경 0.109 m의 유동층반응기에서 회분석 석탄주입에 따른 유동화특성과 연소특성 실험을 수행하였다. 온도변화곡선, 압력요동특성치를 이용하여 회분식유동층에서 유연탄과 무연탄 및 혼합석탄의 연소특성을 측정하였다. 유연탄과 무연탄의 입자크기, 두 석탄의 혼합비, 유동화매질의 입자크기에 따른 영향을 고찰하였다. 유연탄과 무연탄의 혼합연소시 무연탄의 혼합비가 30 %인 경우가 유연탄의 연소속도 및 연소거동이 최적으로 나타났다. 저품위 고회분 무연탄의 경우 유동화특성보다 연소특성에 의한 영향이 더욱 크게 나타났다. 또한 유동층의 유동화 특성에 의하여 연소거동이 변화됨을 알 수있었다.

  • The scientific analysis and provenance study of potteries excavated from kiln site at Gyeongsang Nam-do were carried out using XRD, ICP-AES and NAA. We can summary the following Result :1. As a result of XRD analysis, it showed that soft potteries consisted of quartz, feldspar and clay minerals while hard potteries consisted of high temperature crystals such as mullite, tridymite, cristobalite.In case of firing temperature which are determined by XRD, potteries consisted of quartz, feldspar and clay mineral had very low firing temperature. While potteries having only cristobalite ranged above $1200^{\circ}C$.2. As a result of correlation analysis using trace element, the selected characteristic elements which was able to distinguish from each kiln site was Sm, Cs, Sc, Eu, Hf.3. Discriminant analytical showed that each kiln site were classified into 4-gruops;Kimhaeci Daesungdong, Hamangun Myosari, Changyounggun Yochori and one group mixed KimhaeciGuosandong, Kimhaeci Samgyeri. This suggests that there are no correlations between the raw materials used in each kiln sites except Kimhaeci Guosandong, Kimhaeci Samgyeri.

$ZrSiO_4$ 소결체의 특성에 미치는 첨가제의 영향에 관한 연구 (The Effect of Additives on Properties of Sintered $ZrSiO_4$)

  • This study deals with sintering and corrosive behavior of sintered zircons mixed with 5wt% of clay $Cr_2O_3$ $CrO_3-MgO$ aqueous solution and $CrO_3-Mg(OH)_2$ aqueous solution. Measurements were conducted by firing specimens at 135$0^{\circ}C$ 145$0^{\circ}C$ and 155$0^{\circ}C$ 1$650^{\circ}C$ for 3hrs in oxidized and reduced atmospheric conditions. Following results were obtained. 1. Sintered zircon with 5 wt% clay showed that highest compressive strength and the lowest apparent porosity and the other showed less positive result than above specimen in order of zircon with $CrO_3-MgO$ aqueous solution $CrO_3-Mg(OH)_2$ aqueous solution and $Cr_2O_3$. 2. The more firing temperature increased the more its strength improved and porosity decreased and specimen which was fired over 155$0^{\circ}C$ and in reduced atmospheric condition showed better results. 3. Zircon with additives which was fired over 155$0^{\circ}C$ showed the evidence of thermal dissociation but it was not rebonded completely during cooling. 4. Zircon with $CrO_3-MgO$ aqueous solution and $CrO_3-Mg(OH)_2$ aqueous solutiion showed more corrosive resistance than zircon itself and zircon-clay system.

  • The ac plasma display panel(PDP) is a flat light-emitting gas discharge device. Discharge gases directly take effects to the discharge phenomena of ac PDP. Therefore it is necessary to understand the characteristics of the discharge gases. In this paper, we have studied the effects of discharge gases by voltage transfer curves which show the discharge characteristics of ac PDP and the change of the effective wall capacitance during a discharge which depends on lateral spreading of charge distribution and the strength of discharge. As gas pressure increases, memory margins increases. and the firing voltage of a mixed gas is lower than that of a single gas such as He gas. The minimum sustain voltage and the maximum sustain voltage or firing voltage increases with decrease in the frequency. The effective wall capacitance increases as the discharge strength that is, the gap voltage between discharge electrodes increases.
