We studied the bottom morphology and sedimentary environments of the Masan Bay using high-resolution Chirp seismic profiles and sediments data. According to deep-drilled core samples (up to 20 m thick) penetrated into the weathered rock basement, the sediments consist largely of three sediment types: the lower sandy gravel facies (Unit I) of 1-4 m in thickness, the middle sandy mud and/or muddy sand facies(Unit II) of 1-2 m thick and the upper mudfacies (Unit III) of over 10 m in thickness. The sedimentary column above the acoustic basement can be divided into two major sequences by a relatively strong mid-reflector, which show the lower sedimentary sequenc e(T) with parallel to subparallel internal reflectors and the upper sedimentary sequence(H) with free acoustic patterns. Acoustic basement, the lower sedimentary sequence (T), and the upper sequence (H) are well correlated with poorly sorted massive sandy gravels (Unit I), the sand/mud-mixed sediment (Unit II), and the muddy facies(Unit III), respectively. The acoustic facies and sediment data suggest that the Masan bay is one of the most typical semi-enclosed coastal embayments developed during the Holocene sea-level changes. The area of the Masan Bay reduced from about $19\;km^2$ in 1964 to about $13\;km^2$ in 2005 by reclamation, and its bottom morphology changed as a result of dredging of about $2{\times}10^7\;m^3$.
Formation of Solid Solution and Microstructure in Processureless sintered SiC-AlN compo-site using oxides as a sintering aid at 185$0^{\circ}C$ and 195$0^{\circ}C$ Regardless of SiC/AlN ratio in composition most of sintered specimens showed he complex structure mixed with 2H solid solution and SiC particles. High sintering temperature and large AlN content in starting composition enhanced the formation of 2H solid solution in sintered specimen 2H solid solution showed the spherical shape and core-rim structure. AlN content in the core is higher than that in the rim but SiC content . The size of 2H solid solution on fracture showed the transgranular fracture mode compared with the dispersed SiC particles which showed the intergranular fracture mode.
As a key and core knowledge for the design of various types of nuclear reactors, the discipline of reactor physics has been advanced continually in the past six decades and has led to a very sophisticated fabric of analysis methods and computer codes in use today. Notwithstanding, the discipline faces interesting challenges from next-generation nuclear reactors and innovative new fuel designs in the coming. After presenting a brief overview of important tasks and steps involved in the nuclear design and analysis of a reactor, this article focuses on the currently-used design and analysis methods, issues and limitations, and current activities to resolve them as follows: (1) Derivation of the multi group transport equations and the multi group diffusion equations, with representative solution methods thereof. (2) Elements of modem (now almost three decades old) diffusion nodal methods. (3) Limitations of nodal methods such as transverse integration, flux reconstruction, and analysis of UO2-MOX mixed cores. Homogenization and related issues. (4) Description of the analytic function expansion nodal (AFEN) method. (5) Ongoing efforts for three-dimensional whole-core heterogeneous transport calculations and acceleration methods. (6) Elements of spatial kinetics calculation methods and coupled neutronics and thermal-hydraulics transient analysis. (7) Identification of future research and development areas in advanced reactors and Generation-IV reactors, in particular, in very high temperature gas reactor (VHTR) cores.
600 MPa-grade deformed bar samples were manufactured by conventional hot rolling and subsequent Tempcore heat treatment processes. Considering the short-time water quenching step of the Tempcore process for hot-rolled steel, it is inevitable that the temperature profile of the deformed bar depends strongly on its position throughout the sample thickness. As a result, its microstructure can be easily divided into two regions, the surface and the core regions. The former is expected to have a fresh martensite microstructure under rapid cooling conditions, but self-tempering occurs due to the intense heat flow from the hot core region after the process. The latter is generally known to exhibit a mixed microstructure of ferrite and pearlite due to its slow cooling rate. In this study, detailed microstructural evolutions were examined through the thickness direction. The large variation of the microstructure through the thickness direction in the deformed bar samples is partly due to the easy carbon diffusion from the limited additions of alloying elements.

The concept of a fraction as division is a core idea which serves as a axiom in the process of a extension of the natural number system to rational number system. Also, it has necessary position in elementary mathematics. Nevertheless, the timing and method of the introduction of this concept in Korean elementary math textbooks is not well established. In this thesis, I suggested a solution of a various topics which is related to this problem, that is, transforming improper fraction to mixed number, the usage of quotient as a term, explaining the algorithm of division of fraction, transforming fraction to decimal.
In this research, a high-elasticity acrylic emulsion binder with core-shell polymerization and self-crosslinking system is mixed with a flame-retardant water-dispersed polyurethane (PUD) binder. In addition, finite element analysis was conducted through virtual engineering software ANSYS by applying three representative nonlinear material models. The most suitable nonlinear material model was selected after the relative comparison between the actual experimental values and the predicted values of the properties derived from simulations. The selected nonlinear material model is intended to be used as a nonlinear material model for computational simulation analysis that simulates the experimental environment of the vibration test (ASTM E1399) and the actual fire safety test (ASTM E1966). When the mass fraction of thermally expandable graphite was 0.7%, the thermal and physical properties were the best. Among the nonlinear material models, the simulation result of the Ogden model showed the closest value to the actual result.

The effect of bloating and fluxing agent on the microstructure and physical properties were studied in manufacturing the artificial lightweight aggregates of bulk density below] using clay and stone sludge. In case of the aggregates added only with bloating agent, the bulk density and water absorption were $0.5{\sim}1.0$ and $41{\sim}110%$ respectively but the microstucture was not uniform with a rough appearance. For the aggregates added with a fluxing agent and one bloating agent, a part of shell was lost due to explosion of specimen caused by over-bloating during a sintering. The mixed addition of bloating agents with vacuum oil, carbon and ${Fe_2}{O_3}$ made the microstructure homogeneous by generating an uniform black core and shell structure. The aggregates added with mixed agents and sintered at $1200^{\circ}C$ showed the bulk density 67 % lower and water absorption 48 times higher than those of the specimen with no additives. ]n this study, the artificial lightweight aggregates showing the bulk density of $0.5{\sim}1.0$ and water absorption of $50{\sim}125%$ could be fabricated to apply to various fields.
Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the shear bond strength by manufacturing the veneering porcelain on the IPS e.max $ZirCAD^{(R)}$ zirconia core, using the layering technique and heat-pressing technique, and to evaluate the clinical stability by comparing to the conventional metal ceramic system. Methods: The Schmitz-Schulmeyer test method was used to evaluate the core-veneer shear bond strength of zirconia core ceramic(IPS e.max $ZirCAD^{(R)}$) and their manufacture recommended two veneering ceramic systems(IPS e.max $ceram^{(R)}$, IPS e. max $ZirPress^{(R)}$). A metal ceramic system(Bellabond $plus^{(R)}$, VITA $VM13^{(R)}$) was used as a control group for the two all ceramic system test groups. The maximum loading and shear bond strength was measured. The average shear strength(MPa) was analyzed with the one-way ANOVA and the Tukey's test(${\alpha}$=.05). The fracture specimens were examined using Microscope to determine the failure pattern. Results: The mean shear bond strengths(SD) in MPa were MBSB control 43.62(2.13); ZBSB 18.65(1.76); ZPSB 18.89(1.54). The shear strengths of the zirconia cores were not significantly different(P>.05). Microscope examination showed that zirconia specimens presented mixed failure, and base metal alloy specimens showed adhesive failure. Conclusion: There was no siginificant different between the layering technique and the heat pressing technique in the veneering methods on the zirconia cores. None of the zirconia core and veneering ceramics could attain the high bond strength values of the metal ceramic combination.

In this study, We have investigated the kinetics on the char-$CO_2$ gasification reaction. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) experiments were carried out for char-$CO_2$ catalytic gasification of an Indonesian Roto lignite. $Na_2CO_3$, $K_2CO_3$, $CaCO_3$ and dolomite were selected as catalyst which was physical mixed with coal. The char-$CO_2$ gasification reaction showed rapid an increase of carbon conversion rate at 60 vol% $CO_2$ and 7 wt% $Na_2CO_3$ mixed with coal. At the isothermal conditions range from $750^{\circ}C$ to $900^{\circ}C$, the carbon conversion rates increased as the temperature increased. Three kinetic models for gas-solid reaction including the shrinking core model (SCM), volumetric reaction model (VRM) and modified volumetric reaction model (MVRM) were applied to the experimental data against the measured kinetic data. The gasification kinetics were suitably described by the MVRM model for the Roto lignite. The activation energies for each char mixed with $Na_2CO_3$ and $K_2CO_3$ were found a 67.03~77.09 kJ/mol and 53.14~67.99 kJ/mol.

The carbon microspheres of a core-shell type were grown by the method of mixed-source hydride vapor phase epitaxy (HVPE). The surface and the cross section of the carbon microsphere grown by a new method were observed by scanning electron microscope (SEM). The characteristics of the carbon microsphere were investigated by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and a high resolution-transmission electron microscope (HR-TEM). From these measurements, the diameters of carbon sphere were about few hundred micrometers. Furthermore, we show that the carbon microsphere of the core-shell type by mixed-source HVPE method can be grown successfully with the larger size than those of the existing one. This mixed-source HVPE method is proposed a new method for making of carbon microsphere.
