  • The research shows misuse cases of quantitative regression analysis used in QC circle activity and six sigma movement which presents guidelines of correct use for quality practitioners. Additionally, the qualitative regression analysis that responses nonconforming ratio of variable y, is reviewed based on misuse cases for proper use by practitioners in the field. In most cases, there are frequent errors that involve the correlation analysis or ANOVA, regardless of using quantitative regression analysis. In addition, qualitative regression analysis for the nonconforming ratio that has dependent variable of discrete and categorical data, is often applied with quantitative regression and result in ineffective quality improvement.

  • Ginseng has long been used as a functional food or therapeutic supplement and it is empirically known to be safe and nontoxic. During recent decades, a number of in vitro and in vivo experiments, as well as human studies have been conducted to prove the safety of various types of ginseng samples and their components. Clinical trials, case reports, and in vitro and in vivo research articles addressing the safety, toxicity, and other adverse events of ginseng application were selected and reviewed. Patient risks associated with ginseng abuse and misuse such as affective disorder, allergy, cardiovascular and renal toxicity, genital organ bleeding, gynecomastia, hepatotoxicity, hypertension, reproductive toxicity, and anticoagulant-ginseng interaction were reviewed and summarized. There are some cases of patient risk associated with ginseng abuse and misuse depending on patients' conditions although further investigation in more cases is required to clarify these issues.

  • The Zolpidem, commonly used as a sleeping pill, binds to GABA receptors to increase neuro-inhibiting transporters. There are many cases where people take Zolpidem for more than four weeks in a row. The Drug Utilization Review, currently in effect in South Korea, can identify the use patterns of Zolpidem. It is necessary to prevent Zolpidem's misuse. The study was conducted from May 10, 2019 to May 15, 2019. Primary and secondary screening was performed out of 125,197 total retrieved documents. The final 254 literature cases directly related to Zolpidem's misuse were selected. Through systematic literature research through meta-analysis, we tried to find a way to prevent Zolpidem's misuse through the Drug Utilization Review. The distortion was minimized by applying it in the screening process. Zolpidem's misuse was severe and continued to increase its use. There has also been an increase in crime using Zolpidem. It has been analyzed that Zolpidem can be managed through Narcotics Integrated Management System and Drug Utilization Review. In order to reduce the use of Zolpidem, the supply through the Narcotics Integrated Management System and the demand through long-term user education should be suppressed.

  • Pulmonary aspergillosis is a relatively rare disease in Korea. Immune suppressive patients, resulting from misuse or long term therapy of antibiotics, steroid and anticancer chemotherapeutics tend to be vulnerable to pulmonary aspergillosis. This study is made to illustrate the clinical features, preoperative diagnosis and surgical role in the management is this diseases. In retrospective study of operative cases from May 1980 through July 1986, 10 cases were analysis. Hemoptysis and blood tinged sputum were the most common chief complaints. Major underlying pathology was cavitary lesion or bronchiectasis caused by pulmonary tuberculosis [5 cases]. 2 cases were disseminated form due to immune suppression. Anatomic location of lesion was in the upper lobe in half case. Systemic antifungal agent is helpful for invasive aspergillosis and Resection is the treatment of choice for localized fungus balls and symptomatic localized forms.

  • Objective: This study aims to assess the following issues - acquisition level in terms of the information on frequently used drugs of youth, access paths for the information, actual status of the use of drugs frequently used by youth, types of the used drugs, drug abuse among youth, and the consequent drawbacks. This study also takes aims at suggestion of correct role of pharmacists in consideration of drug abuse among youth. Methods: During the period from August 1, 2011 to October 31, 2012, a research design and a question development have been conducted. To the students of the schools that were randomly selected (elementary school's N=99, middle school's N=106, high school's N=115 and university's N=115), it was asked to complete given questionnaire from August 1, 2012 to August 31, 2012. During the period from September 1, 2012 to October 30, 2012, the questionnaires were collected back and the analysis and evaluation of them were carried out. Results: Drugs known to the respondents were a total of 115 different medicines and most of the drugs belonged to over-the-counter drugs. The most well known drug was pain reliever and the second most familiar drug was wound ointment. Most of the respondents found the drugs through direct use and advertisement. In everyday life, more than half of the respondents were using over-the-counter drugs as well as health supplements. The most commonly used drug was analgesic drug. It was showed that the respondents also frequently used the drugs for improving their grades and appearances. It was shown that among the cases of drug use, there were also the cases of misuse and abuse of drugs for the respondents or people around them. Reliability of pharmacists was shown to be high and many students were also satisfied with the pharmacists' guidance for medication. Conclusion: Currently many students are using different kinds of drug in daily life, and there is a possibility that the risk of misuse and abuse of drugs will be increased. Those age groups can easily engage in bad habit of drug use. Thus, promotion on accurate drug information has to be strengthened, and pharmacists are required to conduct correct guidance for drug user's medication in terms of use amount, usage, interactions among different drugs, and potential risks.

  • Purpose: The aim of this study is to investigate the difference between male and female in some clinically meaningful aspects and to prevent intentional poisoning in children and adolescents. Methods: Retrograde medical records review of patients who visited the emergency department of two secondary hospitals for drug ingestion from March 2010 through March 2013 was performed. Unintentional ingestion or ingestion by others was excluded. Results: A total of 138 cases were reported, male 25.4% (n=35), female 74.6% (n=103). The reason for poisoning was intentional in 132 cases (95.7%) and misuse in six cases (4.3%). In female patients, non-prescription drugs was the most common cause of intentional poisoning (68.9%). Male patients tend to use life substances for intentional poisoning more frequently (20.0%) than female (3.9%). Seven male patients and 12 female patients had previous psychiatric history and 34.3% of male and 41.7% of female were consulted to the psychiatric department. Conclusion: Female adolescents are more likely to ingest drugs intentionally for suicide attempt than males of comparable ages. The drugs they ingested were, in many cases, obtained with ease from the drug store nearby and, remarkably, most of the drugs they obtained in that way were acetaminophen-containing. This suggests that some guidelines or control in the pharmacy that restrict children or adolescents from obtaining potentially or possibly life-threatening drugs might be necessary. In addition, education regarding drugs is thought to be necessary in school for teenagers as they tend to misuse them with incorrect acknowledgement.

  • Pesticides are useful to eliminate harmful insects and grow crops however, misuse and abuse of pesticides may cause a death of wild birds, livestock, and companion animals. We analyzed residual pesticides in the ingesta and tissues from the dead wild birds, livestock, and companion animals which were suspected pesticide poisoning based on the diagnosis of the Animal Disease Diagnostic Center of National Veterinary Research and Quarantine Service (NVRQS). The samples were primarily brought to NVRQS from local communities and veterinary diagnostic laboratories. The 231 suspicious samples of pesticide poisoning based on the necropsy were analyzed by GC/NPD, GC/FPD, GC/ECD, or GC/MSD in 2008 and 2009. Pesticides were identified from the 55 samples of total 143 samples analyzed in 2008 and from the 34 samples of total 88 samples analyzed in 2009. The pesticide identification rates in 2008 were higher than the rates in 2009. It may have relevance to the increased samples with the outbreak of avian influenza in 2008 in Korea. The concentrations of pesticides found in the dead animals varied and exceeded the respective $LD_{50}$ of pesticides in many cases. Monochrotophos, phosphamidon, and methomyl were the most common pesticides found and those pesticides are high rank sales in Korea. The cause of pesticide poisoning in animal is assuming a misuse and an abuse of commonly used pesticides in Korea.

  • A masquerader is someone who pretends to be another user while invading the target user's accounts, directories, or files. The masquerade attack is the most serious computer misuse. Because, in most cases, after securing the other's password, the masquerader enters the computer system. The system such as IDS could not detect or response to the masquerader. The masquerade detection is the effort to find the masquerader automatically. This system will detect the activities of a masquerader by determining that user's activities violate a profile developed for that user with his audit data. From 1988, there are many efforts on this topic, but the success of the offers was limited and the performance was unsatisfactory. In this report we propose efficient masquerade detection system using SVM which create the user profile.

  • This inductive study seeks to establish a conceptual background for theoretical development regarding talent misuse in the context of small and medium-sized enterprises (SME). The two objectives for the goal were (1) to explore and build a list of unethical treatment practiced on young talents; (2) to establish new framework for the special context or refining the existing framework on employee mistreatment. For the first goal, an attempt was made to develop a list of mistreating behavior by collecting and analyzing cases of ethical disputes. Analyses on 64 cases of talent mistreatment, namely 'passion pay', was conducted to present a conceptual ground for further investigation. Then, for the second objective, this study has proposed an integrative approach for assessing these ethical elements. The ethical implications were discussed based on an assessment conducted using three theories of ethics. Finally, a cluster analysis further shows the emergence of three groups based on the mistreating behaviors. We observed seven different mistreatment behaviors under four categories of mistreatment practices. Additionally, the cluster analysis results imply that talent mistreatment may be rooted in work characteristics. Organizational size may provide some contextual reasoning, but the extent to which this factor interacts with work characteristics left unclear.
