Mission Computer performs important role both managing a whole system and dealing with a specific mission in avionics system. In general, the fault of SPOF(Single Point Of Failure) in unity system can lead to failure of whole system. It can cause a failure of a mission and also can threaten to the life of the pilot. So, in this paper, we design the HA(High-availability) system so that dealing with the failure. And we use HA software like Heartbeat, Fake, DRBD and Bonding to managing HA system.

Aircraft defects are important matters directly related to the operation of the aircraft and the life of the pilot. The defects in the mission software that occur during aircraft control seriously affect the pilot's mission performance and safety. Therefore, the organization in charge of aircraft development or software defects are reinforced in the process to identify and eliminate defects in the early stages of development, and a lot of labor and time are spent, but due to the nature of the mission software, strong functional coupling with other avionics and high complexity, so there are restrictions on the identification and removal of software defects through the existing test method. This study analyzes the effect of securing mission software integrity and reducing test cost through data integrity verification by developing a tool that automates the verification of expected value of feedback data among communication data of mission computer interlocking equipment.
MC(Mission Computer) performs important function in avionics system which tactic data processing, image processing and managing navigation system etc. In general, the fault of SPOF(Single Point Of Failure) in unity system can lead to failure of whole system. It can cause a failure of a mission and also can threaten to the life of the pilot. So, in this paper, we design the HA(Hight-availability) system so that dealing with the failure. And we use HA software like Heartbeat, Fake, DRBD and Bonding to manage HA system. Also we analyze the performance of HA system using the FDT(Fault Detection Time) for fast fault detection and MTTR(Mean Time To Repair) for mission continuity.
The drone has the restrictions on the controls, the battery and the surrounding environment in performing missions such as fire extinguishing. This restriction can improve the limitations that leave the leader can be monitored. The existing method of constructing the leader based on the GPS is highly dependent on the signal and is vulnerable to hardware defects. In this paper, we solve these problems with dynamic leaders decision. Drones can use their leader drones rather than remote controls. Information about the drones changes depending on the surrounding environment by replacing the leader with a dead battery or electing leader by the drones themselves without human intervention. This suggests that the leader monitors the community through a framework for continuing the drones collaboration and that the community can collaborate to overcome the limitations and continue the mission. The analysis of the proposed system through simulation experiments confirm that it has a better task performance. By using this system, it is possible to continue the mission and solve problems that are vulnerable to hardware defects.

Fighter pilot's ability to maintain both mental and physical capabilities in highly stressful situations is important for aviation safety as well as mission performance because pilot may confront frequently unexpected physical and psychological stimulation. Cumulative psychological stress and physical fatigue can be causes of mood distortion, declined alertness, and can lead to reduction of combat capability. We have investigated bio-signals and performance tests to monitor stress and fatigue levels, and developed a system to evaluate aviation mission suitability before flight. This study elucidated that stress and fatigue level of pilot can be monitored by psychomotor cognitive test(PCT) and heart rate variability(HRV), and that the best of reference for aviation mission suitability was confidential interval obtained from cumulative data of individuals. The system to evaluate aviation mission suitability was constructed with measuring part with PCT and HRV and control part with DB and algorithm.

In this paper, we propose a real-time fault monitoring and dual system design of the countdown time-generating system, which is the main component of the mission control system. The countdown time-generating system produces a countdown signal that is distributed to mission control system devices. The stability of the countdown signal is essential for the main launch-related devices because they perform reserved functions based on the countdown time information received from the countdown time-generating system. Therefore, a reliable and fault-tolerant design is required for the countdown time-generating system. To ensure system reliability, component devices should be redundant and faults should be monitored in real time to manage the device changeover from Active mode to Standby mode upon fault detection. In addition, designing different methods for mode changeover based on fault classification is necessary for appropriate changeover. This study presents a real-time fault monitoring and changeover system, which is based on the dual system design of countdown time-generating devices, as well as experiment on real-time fault monitoring and changeover based on fault inputs.
As power grids are integrated into one big umbrella (i.e., Smart Grid), communication network plays a key role in reliable and stable operation of power grids. For successful operation of smart grid, interoperability and security issues must be resolved. Security means providing network system integrity, authentication, and confidentiality service. For a cyber-attack to a power grid system, which may jeopardize the national security, vulnerability of communication infrastructure has a serious impact on the power grid network. While security aspects of power grid network have been studied much, security mechanisms are rarely adopted in power gird communication network. For security issues, strict timing requirements are defined in IEC 61850 for mission critical messages (i.e., GOOSE). In this paper, we apply security algorithms (i.e., MD-5, SHA-1, and RSA) and measure their processing time and transmission delay of secured mission critical messages. The results show the algorithms satisfying the timing requirements defined in IEC 61850 and we observer the algorithm that is optimal for secure communication of mission critical messages. Numerical analysis shows that SHA-1 is preferable for secure GOOSE message sending.

In a dynamic environment autonomous robots often encounter unexpected situations that the robots have to deal with in order to continue proceeding their mission. We propose an adaptive goal-based model that allows cyber-physical systems (CPS) to update their environmental model and helps them analyze for attainment of their goals from current state using the updated environmental model and its capabilities. Information exchange approach utilizes Human-Agent-Robot-Machine-Sensor (HARMS) model to exchange messages between CPS. Model validation method uses NuSMV, which is one of Model Checking tools, to check whether the system can continue its mission toward the goal in the given environment. We explain a practical set up of the model in a situation in which homogeneous robots that has the same capability work in the same environment.

There are lots of combined battlefield elements which complete the war. It looks problematic when collecting and analyzing these elements and then predicting the situation of war. Commander's experience and military power assessment have widely been used to come up with these problems, then simulated combat training program recently supplements the war-game models through recording real-time simulated combat data. Nevertheless, there are challenges to assess winning factors of combat. In this paper, we characterize the combat element (ce) by clustering simulated combat data, and then suggest multi-layered artificial neural network (ANN) model, which can comprehend non-linear, cross-connected effects among ces to assess mission completion degree (MCD). Through our ANN model, we have the chance of analyzing and predicting winning factors. Experimental results show that our ANN model can explain MCDs through networking ces which overperform multiple linear regression model. Moreover, sensitivity analysis of ces will be the basis of predicting combat situation.

Recently, researches for military purposes such as precision tracking and mission completion using UAVs have been actively conducted. In particular, if the posture information of the leading UAV is estimated and the mission UAV uses this information to follow in stealth and complete its mission, the speed of the posture information estimation of the guide UAV must be processed in real time. Until recently, research has been conducted to accurately estimate the posture information of the leading UAV using image processing and Kalman filters, but there has been a problem in processing speed due to the sequential processing of the processing process. Therefore, in this study we propose a way to improve processing speed by applying methods that the image processing area is limited to the ROI area including the object, not the entire area, and the continuous processing is distributed to OpenMP-based multi-threads and processed in parallel with thread synchronization to estimate attitude information. Based on the experimental results, it was confirmed that real-time processing is possible by improving the processing speed by more than 45% compared to the basic processing, and thus the possibility of completing the mission can be increased by improving the tracking and estimating speed of the mission UAV.
