  • 본 연구에서는 천연다이아몬드의 인선형상을 R형과 S형으로 구분하여 제작하 고 미세이송과 절삭속도 변화를 주어 이에 얻어지는 표현거칠기, 칩 생성기구 및 경면 성을 검토하였다.

  • This paper presents a new cutting method, i.e. diamond cutting, aided by electrolysis, in order to cut ferrous materials with diamond tools. Diamond cutting is widely applied in manufacturing ultraprecision parts such as magnetic disk, polygon mirror, spherical/non-spherical mirror and copier drum, etc. because of the diamond tool edge sharpness. In general, however, diamond cutting cannot be applied to cutting steels, because diamond tools wear excessively in cutting iron based materials like steel due to their high chemical interaction with iron in high temperature. In order to suppress the diffusion of carbon from the diamond tool and to reduce increase of cutting force due to size effect, we attempt to change chemically the compositions of iron based materials using electrolysis in a limited part which will be soon cut. Through experiments under several micro-machining and electrolysis conditions, cutting using electrolysis, compared to conventional cutting, was found to result in a great decrease of the cutting force, a better surface and much less wear tool.

  • The magnetic fluid polishing technique can polish the tool of complex shape, because the polishing method which polishes as compress the workpiece by the magnetism abrasives to arrange to the linear according to the line of magnetic force. Therefore, we producted the magnetic fluid polishing device in order that mirror like finishing processes the tool surface. In order to a polishing condition selection, polishing characteristic was estimated by polishing conditions which are magnetic flux density, polishing speed, grain size, magnetic fluid. The tool was polished to the selected polishing condition. The result to evaluate the polished tool's performance with the cutting force and tool wear, the polished tool's performance was improved compared with the tool not to polish.

  • In high speed cutting process, due to the friction between the tool and workpiece, a temperature rise of contacting part is serious. It need to develop cutting tool for overcoming such a poor condition. So now, some studies, the optimization of tool shapes, the fine grains of tool material, multi-layer coating of tools are processing. If mirror finishing on the tool is processed, there is advantage of relation between chip and tool, because of less friction, and also tool's lift would be increased. As a result mirror like finishing is expected efficient enhancement of tool. Generally, it is too difficult to process by a general way for tools of complex shapes, it is required a new method to process such complex shape tools. The magnetic fluid polishing technique can polish the workpiece of complex shape, because the polishing method which polishes as compress the workpiece by the magnetism abrasives to arrange to the linear according to the line of magnetic force. In this paper, We polished the surface of the high speed cutting tool using the magnetic fluid polishing technique, to enhance the performance of the high speed cutting tool.

  • We will improve tools performance without the change of a tools' physical shape, if we process mirror like finishing on the surface of cutting tools. Because cutting tools' shapes are very complex, the general method of polishing can't be polished. So we will apply new method of polishing which is magnetic fluid grinding technique. Magnetic fluid grinding technique can polish complex shape's workpiece by pressing the surface of workpiece with magnetic and abrasive grains in magnetic field. Therefore we developed the polishing equipment to improve the performance of cutting tools and experimented on various polishing conditions to determine the polishing conditions of cutting tools.

다이아몬드 미세형상가공에서 자려진동의 발생경향과 안전성 평가

  • Diamond shaping is one of the machining strategies to make the optical micro-groove molds,and it is especially useful when rhe component is an assembly of the linear micro-groove array. A mirror-like surface and arbitrary crose-sectional curve can be easily made by diamond. Howerver, the cutting speed of shaping is relatively lower than that of the other cutting methods, and there exist an unstable cutting conditions that generate the chatter. This study is focused on the modeling of the simplified self-induced chatter of the diamond shapping. Form the chatter model and experiments, it is found that the unstable cutting conditions exist wwhen the depth of cut is low and cutting speed is high.

페라이트 도금법에 의한 선글라스 렌즈의 제작과 자외선 차단효과 (Making sung lass lens by using ferrite plating and the effect of cutting off ultraviolet)

  • 자외선과 전자파를 동시에 차단하는 선글라스렌즈를 제작하기 위하여 유리기판 위에 자성재료인 페라이트 박막을 페라이트 도금법으로 제작하였다. 이들은 모두 스피넬 구조의 단일상임을 확인할 수 있었으며, 육안으로 관찰할 때 거울면과 같은 광택을 가졌으며, 손톱으로 긁었을 때 흠집이 생기지 않는 경도를 보였다. 페라이트는 400nm 부근에서부터 급격히 투과율이 떨어져 자외선을 차단하는데 효과적인 양상을 보이고 있다. 타사제품과 비교하여 자외선 차단효과는 크게 떨어지지 않으며, 전자파 차단효과가 있는 페라이트를 코팅한 선글라스를 착용함으로서 유해전자파와 자외선을 차단하는 효과를 얻을 수 있을 것이다.

초정밀 진동 보조 가공 연구 동향 (Current Trends of Vibration-Assisted Machining in Micro/Nano Scales)

  • Recently, mechanical components with miniaturized size, complex shape and fine surface are on demand from industries such as mobile electronics, medical devices and defense. The size of them is smaller than several millimeters, the shape has micro-holes, curve, or multi-step and the surface is mirror-like. This features are not able to be machined with the conventional machining, therefore electro-discharge machining (EDM), cutting, and laser machining have been applied. If the technologies are assisted by vibration, high aspect ratio and good surface are to be achieved. In this paper, prior and current researches of vibration-assisted machining are reviewed. Machining mechanisms with vibration-assisting are explained, their effects are shown, and vibrating apparatuses are discussed. Especially, comparison between with and without vibration assisting is presented. This review shows the vibration-assisted machining is effectively fabricate the components with small and complicated shape and fine surface finish.

누름가공과 AAO 공정을 이용한 나노-마이크로 복합패턴 제작방법 연구 (A Study on Manufacturing Method of Nano-Micro Hybrid Pattern Using Indentation Machining Method and AAO Process)

  • Micro/nano patterns for optical concentration and diffusion have been studied in the various fields such as displays, optics, and sensors. Conventional micro patterns were continuous and linear shapes due to using linear-type light sources, however, recently non-continuous patterns have been applied as point sources are used for dot-type light sources such as LEDs and OLEDs. In this study, a hybrid machining technology combining an indentation machining method and an AAO process was developed for manufacturing the non-continuous micro patterns having nano patterns. First, mirror-like surfaces ($R_a<20nm$) of pure Aluminum substrates were obtained by optimizing cutting conditions. Then, The letter of 'K' consisting of the arrays of the micro patterns was manufactured by the indentation machining method which has a similar principle to indentation hardness testing. Finally, nano patterns were machined by AAO process on the micro patterns. Conclusively, a specific letter having nano-micro hybrid patterns was manufactured in this study.
