항공운송산업의 비용구조 분석(밀도, 규모 및 범위의 경제성 도출을 중심으로) (An Analysis of the Cost Structure of Air Transport Industry(Deriving Economies of Density, Scale and Scope))

  • 본 연구는 국내 외 항공운송산업의 환경 변화에 따라 우리나라 항공운송산업의 비용효율성을 극대화할 수 있는 전략을 제시하고, 나아가 이를 유도할 수 있는 정책방안을 제시하고자 27개 세계 주요 항공사들의 비용 및 산출 자료를 이용해 밀도, 규모 및 범위의 경제성을 추정하였다. 추정결과 KAL과 AAR 모두 국제선의 운항밀도를 증대시키는 것이 비용절감의 효과를 높일 수 있다는 것으로 나타났으며, 운항네트워크와 관련하여 KAL과 AAR 모두 가능하다면 네트워크를 확대하는 것이 적절하지만, 보다 더 비용효율적인 효과를 얻기 위해서는 네트워크 확장보다는 국제선의 운항밀도를 증대시키는 것이 보다 적절한 것으로 나타났다. 다음으로 현재와 같은 국내선 및 국제선 여객 화물의 운항비율을 나타내는 국적항공사의 평균비용을 극소화하는 적정 산출량 수준은 현재 보다 높지만 현재 산출량과 적정 산출량 수준에서의 평균비용간에 큰 차이를 보이지는 않는 것으로 나타났으며, 국내선만 운영하는 항공사의 경우는 국적항공사의 적정 규모보다 훨씬 작은 것으로 도출되었다. 마지막으로 양 국적항공사는 국내선의 운항 비중을 줄여 화물 운항 비중을 현재보다 늘릴 경우 범위의 경제가 크게 발생하는 것으로 나타났다.

DEVELOPMENT OF A COMPUTER PROGRAM FOR AN ANALYSIS OF THE LOGISTICS AND TRANSPORTATION COSTS OF THE PWR SPENT FUELS IN KOREA

  • It is expected that a substantial amount of spent fuels will be transported from the four nuclear power plant (NPP) sites in Korea to a hypothetical centralized interim storage facility or a final repository in the near future. The cost for the transportation is proportional to the amount of spent fuels. In this paper, a cost estimation program is developed based on the conceptual design of a transportation system and a logistics analysis. Using the developed computer program, named as CASK, the minimum capacity of a centralized interim storage facility (CISF) and the transportation cost for PWR spent fuels are calculated. The PWR spent fuels are transported from 4 NPP sites to a final repository (FR) via the CISF. Since NPP sites and the CISF are located along the coast, a sea-transportation is considered and a road-transportation is considered between the CISF and the FR. The result shows that the minimum capacity of the interim storage facility is 15,000 MTU.

  • Nitrogen and phosphorus are major nutrients in animal feeds which partially remain in the environment as pollution. In addition, nitrogen and phosphorus along with energy are the main nutrients which determine the feed cost. Any decreases in the levels of these three nutrients can contribute to reducing the pollution problem as well as the cost of feed. The nutrient requirements for chickens in the work here reported should allow for the addition of mixed enzymes (phytases, proteases, glucanases, xylanases and others). Such minimal levels of crude protein in the research results which are here reported are 16% for 0-6 weeks of age, 13.5% for 7-12 weeks of age, 11.5% for 13-18 weeks of age for layer type chicks, 13% for layer, 18% for 0-3 weeks of age broiler and 16.5% for 4-7 weeks of age broiler. These research projects have been done without adding enzyme supplements to their experimental diets. The minimal values of phosphorus, shown as available phosphorus, are 0.25% for pullets, 0.09% for layers and 0.25% for broilers with the addition of phytase. The minimum energy requirement (metabolizable energy) for reducing the feed cost could be summarized as 2,750 kcal per kg feed for pullets, 2,800 kcal for layers and 2,700 kcal for broilers.

Minimum cost strengthening of existing masonry arch railway bridges

  • The preservation of historic masonry-arch railway bridges is of paramount importance due to their economic benefits. These bridges which belong to past centuries may nowadays be expected to carry loads higher than those for which they were designed. Such an increase in loads may be because of increase in transportation speed or in the capacity of freight-wagons. Anyway, adequate increase in their load-carrying-capacity through structural-strengthening is required. Moreover, the increasing costs of material/construction urge engineers to optimize their designs to obtain the minimum-cost one. This paper proposes a novel numerical optimization method to minimize the costs associated with strengthening of masonry-arch railway bridges. To do so, the stress/displacement responses of Sahand-Goltappeh bridge are assessed under ordinary train pass as a case study. For this aim, 3D-Finite-Element-Model is created and calibrated using experimental test results. Then, it is strengthened such that following goals are achieved simultaneously: (1) the load-carrying-capacity of the bridge is increased; (2) the structural response of the bridge is reduced to a certain limit; and, (3) the costs needed for such strengthening are minimized as far as possible. The results of the case study demonstrate the applicability/superiority of the proposed approach. Some economic measures are also recommended to further reduce the total strengthening cost.

  • In U.S.A., minimum wage of New Jersey in April 1, 1992 rose from $4.25 to $5.05. At this assession, there was survey by 410 numbers related back and pro minimum wage in New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania.. At stores of New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania, comparison of the increase of employment at constant minimum wag is with estimative effect of increase of minimum wage. Through comparison of stores of low wage and high wage above $5, employment volatility in New Jersey was studied. In U.S.A., increase of minimum wage was not caused to reduce to employment. Contrary to this, result of Korea was not consisted after timing of IMF bailout of 1997. It is because drop of revenue was caused to decrease employees of part-time and full-time job at the viewpoint of cost minimization.

  • 본 논문은 로컬 엑세스 컴퓨터 네트워크를 설계할 때 발생되는 문제의 하나로 네트워크의 평균 지연 시간을 고려한 최소 비용 루프 설계 문제(DMCLP-Delay constrained Minimum Cost Loop Problem)를 다룬다. 이 문지는 종단 사용자의 트래픽 요구량을 만족시키는 링의 집합을 구하는 것으로 목적 함수는 전체라인 비용을 최소화하는 것이다. 본 논문에서는 하나의 링이 서비스할 수 있는 노드의 수가 제한되어 있으며 동시에 네트워크의 평균 지연 시간이 원하는 시간이내이어야 한다는 제약 조건하에서 이 문제에 대한 2단계-휴리스틱 알고리즘을 제안한다. 이 알고리즘은 기존의 최소 비용 루프 설계(MCLP) 알고리즘에 의한 클러스터와 본 논문에서 제안한 trade-off criterion를 이용하여 유도된다. 실제 시뮬레이션의 결과, 본 논문에서 제안한 알고리즘은 수정된 기존의 MCLP 알고리즘보다 우수한 해를 제공하며 아울러 비교적 짧은 실행 시간을 갖는다.

  • This study is intended to propose a systematic and practical life cycle cost(LCC) model for the development of the reliability-based seismic safety and cost-effective performance criteria for design and upgrading of long-span PC bridges. The LCC models consist of five cost functions such as initial cost, repair/replacement cost, human losses, road user cost, and indirect losses of regional economy. The proposed model Is successfully expressed in temrs of Park-Ang damage indices and life cycle damage probability obtained from SMART-DRAIN-2DX which is an existing algorithm for nonlinear time history analysis. The proposed LCC model is successfully applied to a viaduct constructed by PSM, in Seoul. Based on the observations, the proposed systematic procedure for the formulation of LCC model may be useful for the development of the reliability-based seismic safety and cost-effective performance criteria for design and upgrading of long-span PC bridges.

  • Minimum life-cycle cost helps to evaluate cost effectiveness of base-isolated bridges under specific condition. Life-cycle cost mainly consists of the initial construction cost and the expected damage cost. Damage cost estimation needs proper model of input ground motion failure probability evaluation method and limit states definition. We model the input ground motion as spectral density function compatible with the response spectra defined at each seismicity and site condition. Spectrum analysis and crossing theory is suitable for reseating calculation of failure probabilities in the process of cost minimization. Limit states of base-isolated bridges re defined for superstructure isolator and pier respectively The method is applied to both base-isolated bridges and conventional bridges under the same conditions to investigate cost effectiveness of base isolation in low and moderate seismic region. the results show that base-isolation of bridges are more effective in low and moderate seismic region and that the site effects on the economical efficiency may not be negligible in such a region.

  • This study deals with the derivative adverse minimum for inferiority system depends on continuose operating under infinite planning horizon. This planning will be accomplished by maintenance limit renewal policy in consideration of opportunity cost which affects system by failure during operation periods and expected cost under nomal operation states. By the results, we will be expected incresing total efficiency for the system by optimal renewal policy.

  • This paper presents an Economic Lot Scheduling Problem in which controllable production rates are considered. We also take into account the controllable range of production rate (i.e., maximum and minimum production rate) of each product and the mold cost which varies to the production rate. A mathematical model is developed and an iterative solution procedure is suggested. The objective of this problem is to minimize production related cost and the decision variables are common production cycle time and production rate of each product. As a case study, we adapted this model to the press machine of a company.
