헤드폰을 이용한 가청역치레벨의 측정 방법 비교 (Comparison of a hearing threshold level using a headphone)

  • This research presents a laboratory study about a comparison between two methods that measure a hearing threshold of the Subjects who participated in an experiment of the Jury test. The Subjects heard a signal by a headphone. The Subjects of total 63 persons (man=42, woman=21 persons) participated in an experiment. A test of hearing was divided into two (Top-Down, Bottom-Up) methods. Total time of hearing test was about 80 minute(40min/day). As a results of the hearing test, a hearing threshold of the Subjects who used to wear a headphone was higher than that of the Subjects who not used to wear a headphone. A hearing threshold of a man was higher than that of a woman. The result of hearing test was showed that ISO's hearing threshold(MAF) was lower than a result that get from an experiment.

  • 최근 젊은 층을 중심으로 블루투스 헤드셋 등 착용형 청음기기에 의한 소음성 난청을 겪고 있다. 본 논문에서는 청력 손상을 주로 일으키는 감도가 높은 주파수대에서 개인별 청각 특성과 최대가청한계를 고려하여 소리 크기를 조절함으로써 블루투스 헤드셀에서의 청각 손상을 감소하는 동시에 보다 자연스런 음량 조절이 가능한 방법을 보인다. CSR Bluetooth headset example design board(DEV-PC-1645)에 구현한 실험에서 청력 특성이 좋은 대역에서 기존 방법에 비해 보다 낮은 소리 크기에서 불편없이 인지 가능하였다. 또한 그 결과로써 과도한 대역별 소리 에너지를 줄여 청각 손상도 방지할 수 있었다.

  • 본 논문에서는 청각 장애인의 보다 향상된 보청 환경을 조성하고자 청각손실을 심리음향 모델을 적용하여 감음 신경성 난청을 보정하는 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안한 알고리즘에서는 난청의 유형은 내이에서부터 중추 뇌에 걸친 감음계와 신경계의 장애에서 비롯되는 감음신경성 난청(sensorineural hearing loss)으로 주파수 영역상에서 MTH(minimum hearing threshold)가 균일하지 않게 상승하게되어 가청영역이 좁아지는 문제점을 해결하기 위한 방법으로 각각의 주파수 밴드마다 멀티밴드 압축 알고리즘을 적용하였다. 그러나 이 경우 각각의 주파수 밴드에 따른 서로 다른 가청 영역의 영향에 의한 변형된 스펙트럼 모양으로 인해 spectral contrast reduction과 변형된 마스킹 특성으로 인해 음성 변별력에 제한을 가하게 된다. 이것은 주변 주파수 성분들에 의한 마스킹 효과에 의한 것으로, 신호에 대한 난청인이 느끼는 지각 영역(perceptual domain)에서의 해석과 심리음향 모델 파라미터를 통한 보청기의 개발이 이루어져야 하며, 본 논문에서 그 알고리즘을 적용하였다.

정상 성인에서 청성유발 피부전위 (Auditory Evoked Skin Potential in Normal Subjects)

  • Electrodermal activity(EDA) is a bio-electric signal which occurs at the skin surface during the sweating. EDA reflects the activity of the sympathetic axis of the autonomic nervous system. EDA is associated with the eccrine sweat gland at the palmar and plamar surface. This study was aimed to characterize the relationship between EDA and auditory stimulus intensities. Acoustic stimulus used in this study were 500 Hz, 1 kHz, 2 kHz of narrow band noise, which were representative of speech frequencies in audible range. Stimulus intensity between 90 and 30 dB in 10 dB within dynamic range. After deriving the minimum stimulus intensity(threshold of skin potential) which elicited skin potential, and then the latency and amplitude were derived from waveform of skin potential, each latency and amplitude were compared to stimulus intensity. The waveform of skin potential were recorded stably, and the threshold of skin potential appeared nearly the hearing threshold level of the participant. The latency was decreased and the amplitude was increased according to the increase of the stimulus intensity. These results suggest that auditory evoked skin potential can be applicable to auditory assessment and audiological diagnosis tool.

제주 연안에서 양식된 참조기의 청각 능력 (Hearing Ability of Redlip croaker Pseudosciaena polyactis cultured in the Coastal Sea of Jeju)

  • The purpose of this paper is to improve the availability of underwater sound by the fundamental data on the hearing ability of Redlip croaker Pseudosciaena polyactis, which is cultured according to the cultivation technology, recently. The auditory thresholds of Redlip croaker were determined at 6 frequencies from 80Hz to 800Hz by heartbeat conditioning method using pure tones coupled with a delayed electric shock. The audible range of the Redlip croaker extended from 80Hz to 800Hz with the best sensitive frequency range including little difference in hearing ability from 80Hz to 500Hz. In addition, the auditory thresholds over 800Hz increased rapidly. The mean auditory thresholds of the Redlip croaker at the test frequencies from 80Hz to 800Hz were 90.7dB, 93.4dB, 92.9dB, 94.4dB, 95.5dB and 108dB, respectively. Auditory masking for the redlip croaker was measured using masking stimuli with the spectrum level range of about 66, 71, 75dB (0dB re $1{\mu}Pa/{\sqrt{Hz}}$). According to white noise level, the auditory thresholds increased as compared with thresholds in a quiet background noise. The Auditory masking by the white noise spectrum level was stared over about 70dB within 80~500Hz. Critical ratio ranged from minimum 20.7dB to maximum 25.5dB at test frequencies of 80Hz~500Hz.

남해 연안에서 어획된 갯장어의 청각 능력 (Hearing Ability of Sharp Toothed Eel Muraenesox cinereus caught in the Southern Korean Waters)

  • The auditory thresholds for 7 specimens of the sharp toothed eel Muraensox cinerus were measured at 5 frequencies by heartbeat conditioning method using pure tones coupled with a delayed electric shock. The audible range of the sharp toothed eel extended from 80Hz to 300Hz with the best sensitivity around 80Hz and 100Hz. In addition, the auditory thresholds over 200Hz increased rapidly. The mean auditory thresholds of the sharp toothed eel at the test frequencies of 80Hz, 100Hz, 200Hz and 300Hz were 87dB, 86dB, 105dB and 126dB, respectively. Auditory masking was determined for the sharp toothed eel by using masking stimuli with the spectrum level range of about 70~80dB (0dB re $1{\mu}Pa/\sqrt{Hz}$). According to white noise level, the auditory thresholds increased as compared with thresholds in a quiet background noise. The noise spectrum level at the start of masking was distributed at the range of about 64dB within 80~100Hz. Critical ratio ranged from minimum 24dB to maximum 40dB at test frequencies of 80Hz~200Hz.

제주 연안에서 어획된 붕장어의 청각 능력 (Hearing Ability of Conger eel Conger myriaster caught in the Coast of jeju Island)

  • In order to obtain the fundamental data about the behavior of conger by underwater audible sound, this experiment was carried out to investigate the hearing ability of Conger eel Conger myriaster which was in the coast of Jeju Island by heartbeat conditioning method using pure tones coupled with a delayed electric shock. The audible range of conger eel extended from 50Hz to 300Hz with a peak sensitivity at 80Hz including less sensitivity over 200Hz. The mean auditory thresholds of conger eel at the frequencies of 50Hz, 80Hz, 100Hz, 200Hz and 300Hz were 105dB, 92dB, 96dB, 128dB and 140dB, respectively. The positive response of conger eel was not evident after the sound projection of over 200Hz. At the results, the sensitive frequency range of conger eel is narrow in spite of swim bladder. Auditory masking was determined for Conger eel by using masking stimuli with the spectrum level range of about 60~70dB (0dB re $1{\mu}Pa/\sqrt{Hz}$). According to white noise level, the auditory thresholds increased as compared with thresholds in a quiet background noise including critical ratio at 68dB of white noise from minimum 26dB to maximum 30dB at test frequencies of 80Hz and 100Hz. The noise spectrum level at the start of masking was distributed at the range of about 68dB within 80~100Hz.

The mean auditory thresholds of the bambooleaf wrasse at the test frequencies, 80Hz, 100Hz, 200Hz, 300Hz, 500Hz and 800Hz were 100dB, 95.1dB, 94.8dB, 109dB, 121dB and 125dB, respectively. Auditory critical ratios for the bambooleaf wrasse were measured using masking stimuli with the spectrum level range of about 70, 74, 78dB (0dB re $1{\mu}Pa/\sqrt{Hz}$). According to white noise level, the auditory thresholds increased as compared with thresholds in a quiet background noise. The Auditory masking by the white noise spectrum level was stared over about 60dB within 80~300Hz. Critical ratios to be measured at frequencies from 80Hz to 300Hz were minimum 33dB and maximum 39dB.

The audible range of tiger shark extended from 80Hz to 300Hz with a peak sensitivity at 80Hz including less sensitivity at 300Hz. The mean auditory thresholds of tiger shark at the frequencies of 80Hz, 100Hz, 200Hz and 300Hz were 90dB, 103dB, 94dB and 115dB, respectively. The positive response of tiger shark was not evident after the sound projection of over 300Hz. At the results, the sensitive frequency range of tiger shark is narrower than that of fish that has swim bladder. In addition, it is assumed that the most sensitive frequency in auditory thresholds of Chondrichthyes is lower than that of Osteichthyes. Critical ratios of tiger shark measured in the presence of masking noise in the spectrum level range of about 60-70dB (0dB re $1{\mu}Pa/\sqrt{Hz}$) increased from minimum 27dB to maximum 39dB at test frequencies of 80-200Hz. The noise spectrum level at the start of masking was distributed at the range of about 65dB within 80-200Hz.

다중모드 지원 자동차폐 순음청력검사 시스템 개발 (Development of Auto-Masking Puretone Audiometer supporting Multiple Modes)

  • 최소가청역치를 측정하기 위한 기기인 순음청력검사 시스템은 사운드카드를 가진 컴퓨터에서 소프트웨어로 구현될 경우 가격 경쟁력을 가질 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 일반 PC를 기반으로 설계 및 구현된 순음청력검사 시스템을 기술한다. 개발된 PC 기반 순음청력검사 시스템은 기도 및 골도 검사시 지동 차폐 기능도 지원한다. 또한 자가 검사, 자동 검사 및 수동 검사 모드로 구성되는 다중 모드를 제공함으로써 집이나 병원 등 다양한 환경에서 사용될 수 있도록 설계되었다. 본 연구에서는 구현된 시스템의 출력 전압 파형과 출력 음압 측정을 통해 정상적으로 동작함을 검증하였다.
