폐경 여성의 비타민 D 섭취량, 옥외활동시간, 혈청 25-OH 비타민 D 수준과 계절 및 연령과의 관련성 (Vitamin D intake, Outdoor Activity Time and Serum 25-OH Vitamin D Concentrations of Korean Postmenopausal Women by Season and by Age)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to examine the relative impact of seasonal differences and age on dietary vitamin D intakes, outdoor activity time and serum vitamin D status among Korean postmenopausal women. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted with 164 free-living postmenopausal women (mean age=55.4 years) in Daegu, Korea. Dietary intake, daily physical activity patterns and fasting blood samples were collected during summer and winter. We compared the results from 75 women during summer and 89 women during winter. Dietary intake of vitamin D was assessed by 24-hour recall method. Daily outdoor activity time was derived from physical activity diary. Results: The average dietary intake of vitamin D of the participants was $3.7{\mu}g$ during summer, $3.3{\mu}g$ during winter, showing no significant difference between the two seasons. The average time spent on outdoor activities was not significantly different between summer ($=35.1{\pm}75.0min/d$) and winter ($=48.5{\pm}76.8min/d$). The average serum 25-(OH) vitamin D concentrations of participants was $17.5{\pm}7.5ng/mL$ in the summer and $13.4{\pm}4.3ng/mL$ in the winter, showing no significant differences by season. Dietary intake of vitamin D was not related to age. When total subjects were divided into two groups by age, the average serum 25-(OH) vitamin D concentration was significantly higher in older group (p=0.047) and time spent on outdoor activities was also (p=0.018) significantly higher in the older group. Conclusions: In order to improve the current vitamin D status of Korean postmenopausal women, nutrition education programs should focus more on adequate intake of vitamin D, while maintaining enough outdoor activities over the season.

  • 본 연구에서는 di-(2-ethylhexyl)-phosphoric acid (D2EHPA)와 carbon nanotubes (CNTs)를 polysulfone (PSf)에 고정화시켜 PSf/D2EHPA/CNTs 비드를 제조하였으며, 제조한 비드에 의한 Sr(II)의 제거특성을 살펴보았다. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectrometer (FTIR) 및 Thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA) 분석을 통하여 PSf/D2EHPA/CNTs 비드의 형태적 특성들을 조사하였다. PSf/D2EHPA/CNTs 비드에 의한 Sr(II)의 제거는 운전시간 60 min 정도에서 평형에 도달하였으며, 속도 실험결과는 유사 2차 속도식에 잘 부합하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 PSf/D2EHPA/CNTs 비드에 의한 Sr(II)의 제거에서 Langmuir 식으로부터 구한 최대 제거량은 4.75 mg/g이었다. PSf/D2EHPA/CNTs 비드에 의한 Sr(II)의 제거효율은 추출제 D2EHPA 만을 사용하는 경우보다 CNTs를 첨가함으로써 Sr(II)의 제거량이 2.5배 정도 향상되는 결과를 보였다.

ATY 사가공에 의한 Fluffy Spun-like Yarn의 물성 (1) (The Mechanical Properties of Fluffy Spun-like Yarn by ATY Textured (1))

  • This research has a main focus on providing fundamental data for on-the-spot industrial fields by comparing and contrasting physical properties of fluffy spun-like material. The fluffy spun-like yarn is developed as fluffy yarn similar to natural spun-like yarn by treating polyester(FDY and + type shaped DTY) with ATY machine. In this experiment, using ATY machine for raw material texturing, we produced two fluffy yarns: (i) + type shaped(50d/36f, DTY) as core yarn and 100d/192f FDY as effect yarn[ATY(D)], (ii) FDY(75/36) as core yarn and 100d/192f FDY [ATY(F)] as effect yarn. After producing thous yarns, we twisted them with 500T/M, 700T/M, 1000T/M, respectively. produced yarns through this process were used as the samples for this experiment. Even though the shrinkage of fluffy yarn ATY(F) and ATY(D) becomes high as treated temperature rises and treated time lengthens, it is more affected by treated temperature then by treated time. In this experiment, produced fluffy yarn[ATY(D)] shows a little high values for temperature, but almost same values for higher temperatures. When we compare ATY(F) with ATY(D) fluffy yarn shows more natural fluffy yarn surface structure like natural cotton. The shrinkage of 700T/M twisted ATY(D) fluffy yarn show about 11% under treated temperature $180^{\circ}C$ and treated time 30min, and about 7% under $120^{\circ}C$ and 30min, respectively. But the shrinkage of 1000T/M fluffy yarn shoes about 9% and 6% under same conditions. Regarding treated time, tenacity and initial modulus of ATY(D) fluffy yarn rise high until 30min, but do not show much increase above 30min. Regarding treated temperature, tenacity and initial modulus of it rise high aboyer $140^{\circ}C$.

고양이 유두근의 활동전압에 미치는 d-propranolol의 영향 (EFFECT OF D-PROPRANOLOL ON TRANSMEMBRANE ACTION POTENTIAL OF CARDIAC PAPILLARY MUSCLE OF CAT)

  • Adult cats were light anesthetized with ethyl ether and heart was removed fastly. cardiac papillary muscle was dissected from heart in organ bath con taining Tyrode solution saturated with 95% O₂+5% CO₂, and prepared papillary muscles were placed in Tyrode solution that was continuously circulated and gassed with 95% O₂+5% CO₂at 32℃. The isolated papillary muscle was stimulated continuously with platinum pin electrode at frequency of 15/min and 90/min by means of electric stimulator and transmembrane action potentials were recorded with microelectrdes on the oscilloscope. The drug used was d-propranolol and its concentration was 0.5, 1.5 and 5.0 mg/L. The results obtained were as follows: 1. D-propranolol increased the threshold voltage of papillary muscle and raised by average of 213.6% of control. 2. D-propranolol had no effect on duration of action potential. 3. Conduction time of isolated papillary muscle was increased by d-propranolol and its effect was prominent at frequency of 90/min. 4. the maximum upstroke velocity was decreased by d-propranolol and its effect was dose-depndent decrease.

  • objectives: We investigated the moisturizing and cooling effects of the cosmetic product with Scrophularia Buergeriana, Poria Cocos, Lonicera Japonica, Portulaca Oleracea and Ginko Biloba extract on human skin by using non-invasive instrument. Methods: We measured physiological effects after volunteers(female, n=5) applied the cosmetic product containing the extract of oriental herbs. The forearm skin moisturization was measured with $Corneometer^{\circledR}$ CM825 after 15min, 3hr, and 6hr. The forearm skin surface roughness was with Scanning electron microscopy after 15min, and 6hr. The face skin temperatures cooling and microcirculation effects were measured with ThermaCAMTM PM525 and LDl-Periscan PlM II after 15min, and 30min. Results: The forearm skin moisturization was imcreased 108% after 15min. The forearm skin surface roughness was decreased significantly after 15min. The face skin temperatures were cooling down to $30.7^{\circ}C$. The face skin microcirculation effect was normalized time-dependently. Conclusions: We concluded that cosmetic product containing the extract of Scrophularia Buergeriana, Poria Cocos, Lonicera Japonica, Portulaca Oleracea and Ginko Biloba had a moisturization effect and improving the surface roughness, temperature and microcirculation on the human skin.

감각적 자극에 따른 신생아 반응에 관한 연구 -심박동수를 중심으로- (A Study of the influence of stimulus on newborn infant생s response -Specifically in heart rate change-)

  • Early extra-uterine development of the newborn infant has the potential for clarifying important questions of nature and care taking environment. In this study, tactile and auditory stimulation is used on .a group of infants to determine the effects of their response. Infants were tested by EKG at 24∼48 hrs after birth ana all they are free from complication. Stimuli presented were-touch and sound (40dB, 70dB and 40∼70dB). The result of the study were as follows: 1) The heart rate was seen to depend on their sleep-wake state. (light sleep ; 125/min, eyes: open & motor activity increase ; 151/min crying ; 185/min). 2) The heart rate affected by tactile & auditory stimulus. The heart rate response was acceleration above the prestimulus level. (tactile, 231min increase, auditory ; 16∼21/min increase), and heart rate change was seen to depend on prestimulus rate. (γ=.73) 3) There was a decrease in heart rate when they were soothe. (touch ; 24.8sec, 21/min decrease, pacifier ; 14.5sec, 26/min decrease) and significant difference in time between touch and pacifier (t= 1.76, p<0.05). This result support the evaluation of newborn infant's sensory abilitics, and has even begin to influence changes in nursing care. But systemic monitoring of newborn infants response would. further define.

Technical Improvement Using a Three-Dimensional Video System for Laparoscopic Partial Nephrectomy

  • Background: Laparoscopic partial nephrectomy is one of the major surgical techniques for small renal masses. However, it is difficult to manage cutting and suturing procedures within acceptable time periods. To overcome this difficulty, we applied a three-dimensional (3D) video system with laparoscopic partial nephrectomy, and evaluated its utility. Materials and Methods: We retrospectively enrolled 31 patients who underwent laparoscopic partial nephrectomy between November 2009 and June 2014. A conventional two-dimensional (2D) video system was used in 20 patients, and a 3D video system in 11. Patient characteristics and video system type (2D or 3D) were recorded, and correlations with perioperative outcomes were analyzed. Results: Mean age of the patients was $55.8{\pm}12.4$, mean body mass index was $25.7{\pm}3.9kg/m^2$, mean tumor size was $2.0{\pm}0.8cm$, mean R.E.N.A.L nephrometry score was $6.9{\pm}1.9$, and clinical stage was T1a in all patients. There were no significant differences in operative time (p=0.348), pneumoperitoneum time (p=0.322), cutting time (p=0.493), estimated blood loss (p=0.335), and Clavien grade of >II complication rate (p=0.719) between the two groups. However, warm ischemic time was significantly shorter in the 3D group than the 2D group (16.1 min vs. 21.2min, p=0.021), which resulted from short suturing time (9.1 min vs. 15.2 min, p=0.008). No open conversion occurred in either group. Conclusions: A 3D video system allows the shortening of warm ischemic time in laparoscopic partial nephrectomy and thus may be useful in improving the procedure.

The Biochemical Characterization of D-Hydroxyisovalerate Dehydrogenase, a Key Enzyme in the Biosynthesis of Enniatins

  • The biochemical properties of purified D-hydruxyisovalerate dehydrogenase from Fusarium sambucinum was elucidated. D-Hydroxyisovalerate dehydrogenase produced solely D-hydroxyisovalerate from 2-ketoisovalerate. The isoelectric point of the purified enzyme was 7.0. The enzyme was highly specific with 2-ketoisovalerate ($K_{m}=0.188$ mM, $V_{max}=8.814$ mmol/min mg) and 2-keto-3-methyl-n-valerate ($K_{m}=0.4$ mM, $V_{max}=1.851$ mmol/min mg) for the reductive reaction. This was also seen by comparing D-hydroxyisovalerate ($K_{m}=1.667$ mM, $V_{max}=0.407$ mmol/min mg) and D-hydroxy-3-methyl-n-valerate ($K_{m}=6.7$ mM, $V_{max}=0.648$ mmol/min mg) for the oxidative reaction. Thiol blocking reagents, such as iodoacetamide, N-ethylmaleimide and p-chloromecuribenzoate inhibited about 80% of enzyme activity at 0.02 mM, 50 mM and 50 mM, respectively. The enzyme activity was also inhibited by the addition of 0.1 mM of various metal ions, such as $Fe^{2+}$ (67%), $Cu^{2+}$ (88%), $Zn^{2+}$ t (76%) and $Mg^{2+}$ (9%). The enzyme was stable over three months in 50 mM potassium phosphate buffer (pH 5~7) at $-80^{\circ}C$. However the purified enzyme lost 30% of its activity in the same buffer after 24 h at $4^{\circ}C$. The studies about thermal inactivation of D-hydroxyisovalerate dehydrogenase exhibit 209.2 kJ/M of activation enthalpy and 0.35 kJ/mol K of activation entropy.

국내산 곽향(藿香)의 품질관리 연구 (Studies on Quality Control of Domestic Agastachis Herba)

  • Objectives : Agastachis herba is a aerial part of Agastache rugosa (Fischer et Meyer) O. Kuntze which has been used as traditional medicines. Methods : The samples were collected using a domestic cultivation of Agastachis Herba. We experiment on essential oil content, the content of ethanol soluble extracts and HPLC profiling. Results : Loss on drying of Agastachis Herba contents of harvest in June ~ July was 4.93~8.26% and contents of harvest in August ~ September was 3.88~5.38%. Ash of Agastachis Herba contents of harvest in June ~ July was 5.07~7.97% and contents of harvest in August ~ September was 4.55~7.61%. Acid-insoluble ash of Agastachis Herba contents of harvest in June ~ July was 0.43~1.62% and contents of harvest in August ~ September was 0.46~1.44%. Essential oil contents of Agastachis Herba contents of harvest in June ~ July was $0.2{\sim}0.4m{\ell}$ and contents of harvest in August ~ September was $0.2{\sim}0.6m{\ell}$. Ethanol soluble extracts of Agastachis Herba contents of harvest in June ~ July was 9.72~20.44% and contents of harvest in August ~ September was 11.00~18.70%. HPLC profiling was detected of tilianin(12.93 min), acacetin(15.84 min) and agastachoside(17.95 min). Conclusion : Agastachis Herba should be harvested from August ~ September, the time of flowering. This is because of the high content of active compounds.

3D 프린터로 출력된 치과용 레진의 자동바렐연마공정에 따른 표면 거칠기 및 연마도 관찰 (Observation of surface roughness and grinding angle by automatic barrel finishing process of dental 3D printed resin)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to confirm the applicability of gloss polishing using automatic barrel finishing with respect to three-dimensional (3D)-printed resin specimens. The surface roughness and grinding angle of the 3D-printed resin specimens were observed with respect to gloss polishing time using automatic dental barrel finishing. Methods: Herein, experiments were conducted on four types of 3D-printed resin specimens. The specimens, with a thickness of 100 ㎛ each, were printed using a 3D printer. Subsequently, light polymerization was performed on these specimens for 15 min. Post this surface treatment, the specimens underwent grinding for 25 min. This process was followed by gloss polishing at 5-min intervals for up to 25 min using automatic dental barrel finishing. The specimens were photographed using a 3D optical microscope, and their surface roughness and grinding angle were measured. Results: The Ra (centerline average roughness) values of all the specimens, except for crown & bridge 10 group and those in the control group that were not polished using automatic barrel finishing, were <0.2 ㎛. However, polishing time needs to be controlled to realize the desired surface roughness and grinding amount considering the hardness of the resin used. Conclusion: Gloss polishing of 3D-printed resin can be realized using automatic dental barrel finishing.
